Us
Us is an intellect devourer that you meet very early in the game and can quickly be forgotten by many players. However, if you allow this somewhat disturbing little fellow to accompany you and he survives the crash of the mind flayer ship, you can encounter a familiar … brain in the mind flayer colony beneath the Towers of Moonrise at the end of Act Two.
If you release Us again, you will notice that he has taken on a somewhat different appearance than a regular intellect devourer. He has a greenish undertone, more prominent veins, and more pronounced horns that protrude from his brain. Us will then agree to permanently accompany you (to others, he will appear as a kitten, so no one will suspect anything).
Us is a really useful support in combat and can take a lot of hits despite his small and unassuming body with 55 HP. He can be summoned once per short rest, requiring no spell slot, spell scroll, or anything else.
Additionally, he has not only a regular claw attack but also methods to deal psychic damage and reduce an opponent’s intelligence. If the attacked opponent has less than 4 points in intelligence, they become stunned.
