Place 4: Children of the Forest

Long before the arrival of the first humans, during the so-called Age of Dusk, only two peoples lived in Westeros. One of them were the Children of the Forest. As the name suggests, they roughly resemble human children – only darker and more mysterious.
Their way of life was simple but not uncivilized. Although they knew no fabrics, they made clothing from leaves and wood. They also mastered the processing of dragonglass and crafted intricate tools and weapons from it.
What the Children of the Forest lack in physical strength, they make up for with magical abilities. Age does not affect them much – in this respect, they are essentially immortal. They can see the future and past in their dreams and have a strong connection to the three-eyed raven and the animal world. In battle, they can shoot magical orbs that explode like grenades upon impact. It was only through their magic that the Children once sank the land bridge between Dorne and Essos.
However, their abilities also brought about greater calamity. Using a magical dragonglass blade, they created the Night King – one of the greatest threats Westeros has ever seen.
