Draco and Harry are bitter rivals at Hogwarts. They are in opposing houses, compete against each other in Quidditch and constantly clash. In fact, the two seem to be a bit too interested in each other. At least that’s what many fans find, who have made the two an explosive couple.
The mutual attention can’t be denied. Draco seems to love nothing more than getting back at “Potter”. And Harry becomes quite obsessed with Draco, following him everywhere and getting teased for it by Ron and Hermione.
Of course, the dynamic between the two is very aggressive. Fans of the ship particularly appreciate this development from enemies to lovers. There are even hint of such a development, at least towards a friendship, in the original story. In “The Deathly Hallows”, Draco protects Harry by keeping his identity secret. Later, Harry saves Draco from the burning Room of Requirement and from a Death Eater curse. So they are no longer mortal enemies.
