The Twitch streamer Kimchi started a journey on August 23, dedicated to the deceased GTA Online role players from the famous server NoPixel. He aims to cover over 5,000 kilometers by bike and is raising money for charity.
These are the role players: Several years ago, the role-play in the multiplayer game GTA Online gained a lot of attention on Twitch and became one of the most viewed content on the streaming platform.
In particular, a large role-playing server called NoPixel stood out because several big streamers like Summit1g played there.
Unfortunately, sad things happen outside of role play as well. Since the server’s inception, 4 known participants from NoPixel have passed away. The role player community on the server is closely connected, and in honor of the deceased players, a monument with their names has been erected in GTA Online.
Next to the monument, players placed items associated with the deceased role players, such as the blue heart that represents the YouTuber bLuE662 or a surfboard, which is a reference to CallMeGrub.
This is what the streamer is doing: One of the NoPixel players has now decided to make his own dedication to the deceased. The Twitch streamer Kimchi announced on his Twitter channel that he will embark on a journey from Philadelphia to San Francisco on August 23, and he will do it by bike.
He aims to cover the over 5,000-kilometer distance in about 40 days while streaming and filming his journey.
His goal is to raise $100,000 for charity. If the goal is reached before his arrival in San Francisco, he plans to increase the amount to $500,000 and ride back the entire way.
For the donations, he has chosen three organizations:
- Cancer Support Community, which fights against cancer
- National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, which fights against drugs
- American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, which helps people at risk of suicide
All three organizations are committed to combating the causes of death that affected the role players from the NoPixel server.
Meanwhile, Kimchi has completed a 5-day journey and has nearly 700 kilometers on his bike odometer. He is camping and jokes on his Twitter channel that he will soon look like the Batman villain Two-Face because the sun only tans one side of his body while riding.
