A Russian streamer wanted to test what happens when more than 100,000 grenades explode at once in Counter-Strike 2. Shortly after the detonation, the image was lost.
The Russian streamer Ivan “StRoGo” Shurpatov launched an unusual experiment on a CYBERSHOKE server. He distributed more than 100,000 grenades on a map and then detonated them almost simultaneously.
In the stream, the detonation was only visible for a short time. Shortly after, the image disappeared and the transmission ended. Afterwards, StRoGo stated that his graphics card was broken. He also announced plans to buy a replacement and continue.
You can watch the spectacle on his Twitch channel.
Is the entire PC really broken?
Can damage occur this way? A Russian source goes even further, claiming that StRoGo’s entire PC failed or even “burned out” after the test.
This account, however, is not clearly substantiated. VideoCardz points out that a widely circulated photo of a severely damaged computer apparently does not show StRoGo’s system. Furthermore, neither fire nor smoke are visible in the stream itself.
So far, only the streamer’s statement on his own Telegram channel confirming that his graphics card is broken has been verified. Whether other components were damaged remains unclear.
Normally, high load alone should not immediately destroy modern hardware. Graphics cards and processors have protective mechanisms and reduce their performance at high temperatures. In an emergency, the computer can shut down.
If the graphics card indeed broke during the test, the extreme stress may have exacerbated a pre-existing problem.
Have you also pushed your hardware to the limit like this? And if so, how did you manage that? Let us know in the comments!
Whether it was really the graphics card or more of the computer that broke remains to be seen. What is certain is that having more than 100,000 grenades explode at once was apparently not a very good idea. While StRoGo now needs a replacement, other players are generally considering a switch: Console players are considering switching from PS5 to PC.
