In Pokémon GO, you can currently catch a lot of Pokémon during the GO Fest, but you should preferably not send them just yet. Why it might be worth waiting for you, we have summarized here on MeinMMO.
Which Pokémon is it about? This weekend, on July 13th and 14th, 2024, the global GO Fest took place in Pokémon GO, where you could encounter over 70 different monsters. Alongside familiar faces, such as Eevee or Charmander, there were also numerous rare, regional, strong, and legendary Pokémon to find over the two days.
For the first time worldwide, you could encounter the legendary psychic Pokémon Necrozma in raids, which today, on July 14th, even dominated the game in its two forms, Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane.
However, the considerable catching and completing of raids has likely pushed the Pokémon storage of most players to its limits and needs to be cleaned out. It may be worthwhile for you to wait until Tuesday before sending. Below, we explain the advantage this brings you and how you can still sort now.
Collect extra candies on Tuesday when sending
Why should you wait to send? Even if most players want to finally get rid of the excess monsters to make enough room for new ones, you should be a little patient. On Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the next Spotlight Hour will take place.
In addition to plenty of Bithora spawns, which are the focus of this event, you can also look forward to a sending bonus. For sending Pokémon during the 60-minute short event, you will receive double the amount of candies. It doesn’t matter which Pokémon you send to the professor.
Which monsters make the most sense for this? You should especially use this bonus for excess Pokémon that you need more candies for or that you generally do not have the opportunity to collect candies for often.
This includes not only Necrozma and the Ultra Beasts but also monsters whose evolutions are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO, such as Milza, Miniras, Kaumalat, or Kapuno.
Can you get even more candies? Yes, if you want even more candies, you can also trade your Pokémon with a friend beforehand. You also get candies for the trade. You can then sort out the excess monsters as usual and send them to the professor on Tuesday.
You have 100 trades available per day. During the GO Fest, ticket holders even have 6 special trades, something for legendary Pokémon or shinies. With a bit of luck, you could even secure a lucky trade this way.
Here’s how you can sort your Pokémon already today
To sort your Pokémon before the Spotlight Hour and thereby save time on Tuesday, you should use the tag and filter function of Pokémon GO. Proceed as follows:
Create tags: If you haven’t created your own tag for sending Pokémon yet, you should do that now. In your Pokémon storage, click on the “Tags” tab in the upper left corner. There you have the opportunity to create a new category using the “+” sign, to which you can assign your monsters accordingly.
If you now mark a monster in your Pokémon storage, you can assign the respective category via the “Tag” option. If you want to use the candy bonus on Tuesday, you just need to open your tag, select all Pokémon in it, and send them.
Sort Pokémon: To make it easier for you to sort your captured monsters, you should also use the game’s filter function. This way, you can search for specific criteria in the search bar above your Pokémon storage. For sorting out, it’s best to enter the following filters in the search bar:
- 0*,1*,2*: This will only show you Pokémon with a rating of zero, one, or two stars. For example, if you want to sort out only Pokémon with less than two stars, just enter “0*,1*” instead.
- Age0: This filter will show you all Pokémon in your collection that you caught within the last 24 hours. This way, you can only have Pokémon shown that you mostly captured during the second day of the GO Fest.
- Age1: If you use a 1 instead of a 0, you will see all Pokémon you caught 24 hours ago, but not older than 48 hours.
- !shiny: If you place a “!” before a term, you exclude it. So in combination with the term “shiny” or “costumed,” you can hide the corresponding monsters in your list.
By placing an “&” you can also combine the search filters, e.g., “0*,1*,2*&Age0”.
Do you also have plenty of monsters you want to send? Are you waiting to send until Tuesday? Or are you impatient and already making room for new ones? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO. Which events are still upcoming in July in Pokémon can be found in our overview.
