Bethesda has big plans for Starfield. The sci-fi role-playing game will receive a series of new gameplay options in 2024 to make the game easier or harder.
With Starfield, Bethesda launched a major new role-playing game in September 2023 that lets players explore a sci-fi universe. However, the game did not fully convince every player. While players especially praise the building of their own ships, the limited travel options including loading screens have been criticized.
Now Bethesda has provided an insight into the plans that the development studio has for Starfield in 2024 on the official website – including new gameplay options, mod support, and information about the first major expansion.
Bethesda presents plans for Starfield
What does Bethesda plan for Starfield in 2024? Starting February 2024, Starfield is set to receive a new update approximately every six weeks, including “quality of life” improvements, functionality, and content updates.
The updates are expected to bring new travel options – travel was one of the biggest points of criticism for the game. Additionally, you should have the option to access city maps while you are traveling in cities like Neon and New Atlantis.
The shipbuilding feature is also set to receive an update and will be expanded with new decorations and new shipbuilding options.
What does Bethesda say about the expansion? The first major expansion of Starfield, Shattered Space, is scheduled for release in 2024 and, according to Bethesda, will bring new story content, new equipment, and new locations for you to explore.
What new gameplay options will there be? Upcoming improvements to Starfield also include the introduction of new gameplay options that will make the game easier or harder depending on the settings.
You will be able to make changes to your carrying capacity and the damage to the ship, for example. Additionally, the credit wealth of traders will be customizable.
Starfield is set to receive mod support early in the year
What does Bethesda say about mod support? According to Bethesda, official support for mods is also planned for early 2024. A new creation kit will be available in this regard.
Mods are an important part of Bethesda games, which is why the development studio places great emphasis on making it as easy as possible for the community to create and download mods.
There are already mods for Starfield, but they currently need to be downloaded from third-party sites.
