xQc watches in the livestream on Twitch as shroud single-handedly takes out an opposing team in ARC Raiders and explains his perspective on the cheating allegations.
Why do players consider him a cheater? The Twitch streamer and former Counter-Strike pro Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is currently streaming the new extraction shooter ARC Raiders regularly.
During a livestream on Twitch, the streamer eliminated a group of opponents alone with the assault rifle “Renegade”. As the three opponents slowly advanced towards his position, the streamer left his cover, fired a shot, returned to cover, and repeated the process. In doing so, shroud demonstrated what he is known for: above-average aim. In the end, three dead Raiders lay on the ground and shroud stood victorious next to them.
Some time later, a clip circulated on social media showing the perspective of shroud’s opponents, who labeled him a cheater in that situation. shroud watched the clip and was speechless, as his opponents had no chance due to the net code.
What is being said about shroud on Twitch now? The Twitch streamer Félix Lengyel, better known as xQc, reacted to shroud’s situation in ARC Raiders during a livestream. xQc calls shroud a cheater in the livestream and says he cheats while aiming:
“When you push a guy with three people and he peaks a corner and everyone dies, you call him a cheater. I also say ‘cheater’, screw it. I think he’s cheating too. I’m saying it like it is. I’m saying shroud is cheating. I’m standing by my statement. shroud is a damn cheater, he cheats while aiming, he knows he’s cheating, and it’s damn annoying.”
Does the streamer mean it seriously? Probably not. xQc engages with his chat before making the statement. Some users jokingly make fun of the fact that players called shroud a cheater. xQc explains that “99% of players” would label their opponent a cheater in that situation. If three people attack an opponent and all die, you call the other person a cheater. That’s completely normal. xQc subsequently exaggerated the example and jokingly labeled shroud as a cheater as well.
Who is xQc anyway? xQc is one of the largest streamers on Twitch. Based on watch time, the amount of time viewers watch his streams, he is ranked 23rd among all streamers worldwide in the past 30 days (via sullygnome). He regularly has over 18,000 viewers watching his streams.
xQc actually began his career not as a streamer but as an e-sports player. The Canadian played professionally in Overwatch for years before becoming known as a streamer primarily for “Just Chatting”, reaction, and gambling streams.
In the summer of 2023, xQc switched to the Twitch competitor “Kick” for a crazy sum. The streaming platform reportedly offered him a deal worth around 100 million US dollars.
