How to use trade codes
How do the codes work? The codes are there for as many players in the community as possible to learn about and use them to help each other. To perform a code trade, you should follow these steps:
- Select the appropriate code from the list and have the right Pokémon ready
- Open your menu and follow the path: Multiplayer/Online → Link Trade → Remote Players → Link Code
- Then enter the trade code from the list and wait – it can unfortunately take some time
- If a suitable trading partner is found using the same code, you can proceed with the trade
- Once you have traded, your desired Pokémon will evolve
Make sure your trading partner is indeed offering the desired Pokémon and, if necessary, the right item for trade. Additionally, be careful not to accidentally trade away your rare Shinies.
The system relies on trust and the fact that as many players as possible use these codes. It can also happen that you may not find anyone using the code at the same time. Just try again later.
Especially when you are on the hunt for Shinies, it can take quite a while to achieve your desired goal. However, you can easily obtain a Shiny Pokémon during a side quest.
