That’s why not only Shiny Machop is interesting
This is how good Machoke is: This Pokémon is the best fighting Pokémon in the game. If you especially like to battle in gyms, you should definitely rely on Machoke.
While it does not have the highest attack value among fighting Pokémon, it still has two strong moves and can endure quite a bit of damage.
This is what the stats say:
- Attack value: 234
- Defense value: 159
- HP value: 207
- Max CP: 3056
Here’s why you should use it: The fighting type is particularly effective against the normal type. This includes the top defenders Snorlax, Chansey, and Blissey. So, Machoke is a great choice in gym battles.
Moreover, Machoke is also the top counter against the current raid boss Dialga. If you don’t have a good counter team yet, you should level up your Machoke.
That’s why this event is the best time for Machop
This is what the spawns say: In the current battle event, Machop spawns at nearly every corner. You should therefore have it relatively easy to gather enough candies for evolving and leveling up.
Here’s another bonus: If you diligently catch Machops, you might also come across a shiny Machop. This shiny form has been in the game since the start of the event and sweetens the catching.

How long does the event last? Until March 12 at 9 PM, you still have the chance to catch the increased Machops in the wild. But even after that, you will still find Machop in the wild.
