What kind of event is it? In Pokémon GO, the mysterious Pokémon Hoopa celebrates its release in its unleashed form starting today. For this, a special Hoopa event is taking place. Of course, the mischief that is typical for this monster will not be missing, which is why there will be special spotlight hours today and in the coming days.
As you know from the weekly spotlight hour, a specific Pokémon will also be the focus today and will spawn more frequently during this hour. However, there will not be a special bonus for this, as the Hoopa event itself already brings you a candy and XP bonus.
You will encounter the Pokémon Rattata in today’s spotlight hour, in its original Kanto form.
Spotlight Hour with Rattata – Start and Bonuses
When does the spotlight hour take place? This special spotlight hour starts today, November 26, 2021, at 12:00 PM local time. You will have one hour to catch as many Rattata as possible before the event ends at 1:00 PM local time.
Are there special bonuses? Unfortunately, there is no additional bonus specifically for the spotlight hour today. As you are used to from other events, you will encounter wild Rattata everywhere during this time. You can also attract more specimens using incense.
However, you don’t have to completely miss out on a bonus, as the Hoopa event already holds two special features for you. First, you will receive double XP for catching Pokémon, and second, you will get double candy for sending.
Are there shiny Rattata? Yes, with a bit of luck, you may encounter a shiny specimen. You can recognize it by its greenish body.
Is the spotlight hour with Rattata worth it?
How strong is it: Rattata is a Generation 1 Pokémon of the Normal type. It can evolve into Raticate. However, its stats are quite poor, and Raticate also does not excel with its stats. Both monsters are not suitable for raids or the PvP league.
Is the spotlight hour worth it? Rattata is particularly worth it today for shiny hunters, as they will get their money’s worth. Those looking for a strong Pokémon will probably not find it during the spotlight hour. As a strong attacker or for PvP battles, this monster is not suitable.
However, the spotlight hour is worth it in combination with the XP bonus. If you are still missing XP on your way to level 50, you can use this short event to collect some additional experience points.
