This is the Community Day: The Community Day in Pokémon GO takes place regularly once a month. A special Pokémon is always put in the spotlight during this event.
This Pokémon can then be encountered significantly more often throughout the game and also brings an increased Shiny rate. In addition, there are always a selection of different bonuses that complement the event.
Now the new season in Pokémon GO has started and the first Community Day of the “Rising Heroes” season has been introduced. This time Slowpoke is the star – and brings its Galar variant with it. This was officially announced by Pokémon GO in a blog post (via pokemongolive.com).
Community Day in March 2023 with Slowpoke & Galar Slowpoke in Pokémon GO
When does the Community Day run? The Community Day with Slowpoke and Galar Slowpoke takes place on Saturday, March 18th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.
Can Slowpoke be Shiny? Yes, Slowpoke can be Shiny. And Galar Slowpoke will also be available in its Shiny form for the event, making its Shiny debut.
Exclusive move: As always, there will be a special move for the Community Day. This time it is “Surfer”. Your Pokémon will learn it when you evolve Slowpoke or Galar Slowpoke into Lanturn, Galar Lanturn, or another evolution.
This is possible during the event and up to 5 hours afterwards.
Bonuses for the event – with easier evolution for Galar Lanturn
These bonuses are available during the event: A special bonus of the event is the changed evolution of Galar Slowpoke to Galar Lanturn. Normally you have to catch 30 Poison Pokémon while Galar Slowpoke walks with you as a buddy.
But on Saturday, March 18, 2023, this will change from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. During this time, you must alternatively catch Psychic Pokémon. Thus, Slowpoke itself is an option to catch to advance the evolution.
Additional bonuses during the event:
- Triple catch XP
- Double catch candy
- Double chance for an XL candy when catching for trainers from level 31
- Incense & Lure lasts for 3 hours
- Snapshot surprises
- An additional special trade
- 50% less Stardust cost when trading
In addition, there will again be bonus raids after the event. From 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Slowpoke and Galar Slowpoke can appear in level 4 raids. A victory will bring additional spawns of both Pokémon around the gym for 30 minutes. However, these raids can only be fought on-site.
Additionally, there will be a limited research task that will bring you up to four King Stones for evolution. In the shop, you will also find a Community Day research for one euro as usual.
