. This is a feature from the Pokémon games where the critical catch is random and significantly increases the catch chance. As early as 2017, data miners discovered hints about the critical catch in Pokémon GO.
In the case of Pokémon GO, the critical catch works somewhat differently. As the community reports on Reddit, the critical catch in Pokémon GO is not a random event but can be triggered intentionally. Additionally, the catch chance is not just slightly increased but rises to 100%.

How does the critical catch work? To activate the critical catch in Pokémon GO, you must hit the Pokémon with the Pokéball at the right moment. You need to hit the circle, which gets smaller when catching a Pokémon, exactly when it is as small as possible. In other words, you hit the catch circle just at the last moment before it gets big again.
If you succeed, the critical catch is activated and the Pokémon is caught 100%. This is particularly significant regarding the hunt for the rare and difficult-to-catch Galar birds, as it is a very powerful feature that has not been known until now.
