What’s included in the new season “Rising Heroes” of Pokémon GO
The new season is set to bring various new features, events, and content, and it will also change the spawns you can encounter in the game. Here we list everything that is known so far.
Gierspenst and Monetigo in Pokémon GO
This is the feature: In a preview of the new season, the connection between Pokémon GO and the Switch games Karmesin & Purpur was introduced on February 27th. If you send postcards from GO to the Switch, you can unlock the “Coin Pouch” – and encounter the little monster Gierspenst.
After that, you need to collect 999 Gierspenst coins to evolve it into Monetigo. We will show you how the feature works in our guide: Gierspenst in Pokémon GO – all about golden stops, Switch, coins.
Two dates for top raids with Regieleki and Regidrago
These are top raids: The top raids are returning and represent extremely difficult battles that can only be overcome with larger groups. After the unleashed Hoopa, two new monsters are coming to the top raids: the legendary Pokémon Regieleki and Regidrago.
Two dates have been announced for that:
- March 11, 2023
- April 9, 2023
This will reportedly be the only opportunity to catch both monsters in this season. Important: You can only participate in top raids on-site; remote raids are not possible.
The two monsters were also hinted at in the first teaser:
In the teaser, additional content is also shown, which has now also been elaborated on. However, details about the three trainers depicted with their team colors are still missing.
New timed research “Willow’s Wardrobe” with Melmetal – Requires a ticket
This is included in the research: The new season will bring the research “Willow’s Wardrobe,” for which you need to purchase a ticket from the shop. The price is currently unknown.
The research is set to run throughout the entire season and will bring you an outfit in the style of Professor Willow, after he disappeared in the “Ultradimension” in the summer of 2022.
You will also encounter the Melmetal evolution of Meltan during the research, equipped with the special attack “Iron Fists.” This attack is expected to be available in the future via top charge TM.
