In Pokémon GO, the Kalos Tour is on the agenda. A feature that will be important is the Routes. A brief look at the feature.
What are Routes? The Routes in Pokémon GO were introduced in 2023 and represent designated paths from one PokéStop to another. Most are submitted by players.
They are the primary way to obtain Zygarde Cells and to exchange gifts with NPC Mateo. These often include postcards from distant places and help you complete your Vivillon Dex.
However, some players hardly use the Route feature or possibly not at all. That’s why we’ll show you again here how it works and what bonuses you get during the Kalos Tour.
What do Routes bring during the Kalos Tour?
The Routes bring some bonuses during the Kalos Tour. You should keep the following in mind:
- You will receive Zygarde Cells on up to 25 Routes per day. They are otherwise very rare.
- You will also encounter Mateo on up to 25 Routes per day.
- You will find increased Flabébé on Routes. Here, the variants Red, White, and Orange are available.
Whether there are additional bonuses or if the Routes will become part of research remains to be seen.
How do I use Routes in Pokémon GO?
You can find nearby Routes as follows.
- Activate the Nearby view at the bottom right of the game screen
- Scroll right to the Route tab
- There you will see the number of Routes nearby. Click on it to view the starting point.
- Visit the starting point and spin the PokéStop.
- Follow the Route to the last PokéStop, and click on End Route once the pop-up appears.
- Collect each Zygarde Cell along the way. They usually appear at the end of the Route, but keep an eye out.
Alternatively, you can also use the Campfire app to find additional Routes, should there be none in the immediate vicinity.
The Kalos Tour is the grand finale of the current season under the theme Valuable Paths. For one weekend, Pokémon GO will go all out again before the season concludes.
