Which event is it about? Every month in Pokémon GO, there is a so-called Community Day, where a specific Pokémon is in the spotlight. This Pokémon spawns seemingly everywhere during the event and is also more likely to be found as a Shiny. The event is accompanied by various bonuses that are intended to enhance it.
On June 10, it will be that time again, and you can encounter the Dragon Pokémon Milza. What content and bonuses the Community Day with Milza also has in store for you and how you can utilize it, we have summarized for you below.

Community Day in June with Milza – Start & Bonuses
When? Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time
Pokémon of the day: Milza spawns almost everywhere in the wild
Exclusive attack: Wave, if you evolve Sharfax into Maxax during the event or up to 5 hours afterward
Bonuses:
– triple XP when catching
– double candies when catching
– double chance of XL candies when catching (starting from trainer level 31)
– Incense and Lure Modules last 3 hours (except Adventure Incense)
– 5 surprises from snapshots
– Event stickers from gifts and PokéStops
Additional bonuses until 5 hours after the event (10:00 PM local time):
– additional special trade, meaning up to 3 on this day
– halved stardust cost when trading
Thus, the event lasts for 3 hours again, bringing you encounters with Milza and some bonuses. If that’s not enough, you can also secure contents in the in-game shop or participate in special raids following the C-Day.
Contents in the in-game shop: In the game’s shop, you can look forward to some special C-Day contents that you can purchase. The following will be available:
- Ticket for the special research “Tooth for Tooth” about Milza for about 1 Euro
- Community Day box with 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Super Incubators, 5 Lucky Eggs, and a Premium Raid Pass for 1,350 coins
- Event stickers for the Community Day
Special raids: As you know from past Community Days, there will also be special Level 4 Raids featuring Sharfax, the evolution of Milza, afterward from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM local time. Keep in mind that participation is only possible on-site. Remote raids will not work.
If you defeat Sharfax, you will secure additional Milza spawns for 30 minutes around the arena. Its Shiny rate will also be increased, just like during the Community Day itself. This is a good opportunity to collect additional specimens.
Who should take advantage of the Community Day with Milza?
Can you catch Shiny Milza? Yes, Milza can be found in its shiny form with a bit of luck. During the Community Days, your chances are particularly good as the Shiny rate will be increased. You can recognize the shiny dragon by its gray-green body and its pink collar.
How strong is Milza? Milza belongs to the Dragon Pokémon from the 5th generation of games and can evolve into Maxax through Sharfax. Milza itself is not particularly strong, but it has an evolution in Maxax that is impressive.
It has high attack value and solid defense and stamina values. Especially with the new charged attack “Wave” that you can secure during the Community Day, Maxax ranks as a strong Dragon Pokémon among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
And even in PvP battles, it can convince with a moveset of Counter, Wave, and Night Slash. It can enrich your team in any case.

Is the event worth it? Yes, the Community Day with Milza is an absolute must-attend event for most trainers. In addition to a strong Pokémon for raids or the GO Battle League, especially shiny hunters get their money’s worth.
Since Milza is usually hard to find, it’s a good opportunity to obtain a strong and/or shiny specimen. Especially after monsters with a 4-star rating, you should keep an eye out.
Adding to this are the strong bonuses that the event brings with it. With the double candy bonus when catching, you can directly enhance your stock and level up a strong specimen accordingly. The XP bonus is also helpful for all trainers who are on the way to level 50.
Preparation and tips for the Community Day with Milza
Make space: To make the most of the Community Day, you should create enough space in your Pokémon storage beforehand. So sort out all the monsters you no longer need.
Preferably use the filter and tag function of the game. With “0*,1*,2*” you can easily display all monsters with a rating of 2 stars or worse and send them directly.
Perform a Mega Evolution: If you perform a Mega Evolution on the right monsters before the start of the event, you can secure additional candies when catching. Since Milza belongs to the Dragon type, the Mega Evolution must also have this type if you want to take advantage of it. The following evolutions are recommended:
- Mega Altaria
- Mega Ampharos
- Mega Salamence
- Mega Sceptile
- Mega Charizard X
- Mega Latios
- Mega Latias
If you want to battle Sharfax in the Level 4 Raids afterwards, you can also benefit from these monsters during the battle. Mega Altaria is particularly recommended as it not only has the Dragon type but also the Fairy type, which Dragon attackers are particularly sensitive to.
Use the following items: To make the most of the event, you should use various items to get more out of the existing bonuses. The following items are particularly important on this day:
- Sananaberries: Using these berries when catching can really pay off for you as they double the candies you receive afterward. Since there is already a double candy bonus through the event, you can get a lot and quickly power up Maxax.
- Incense & Lure Modules: To attract even more monsters, you should use incense and lure modules. These last for 3 hours when activated during the event. Incense is particularly useful when you’re on the move. With the lure module, you can receive more spawns near a stop.
- Lucky Egg: During the event, there will be triple XP for catching Pokémon. If you want to maximize this, use a lucky egg and double the experience points collected within 30 minutes. It is also advisable to utilize friendship level increases. However, it is best to coordinate this with your friends.

Update on June 9: As confirmed by Niantic at our request, you can also look forward to the candy bonus from the global challenge during the Community Day with Milza, which is already active in the game.

Use lucky trades: If you don’t have a lucky Milza in your collection, you should also take advantage of the Community Day for this. On this day, you will encounter numerous specimens. Before sending them to Professor Willow, you should rather trade them with another trainer. With 100 possible trades, your chances are good of completing a lucky trade.
