In Pokémon GO there is currently a Pokémon with which you can farm Stardust really well. Which Pokémon it is, you will find out here.
What is it about? In Pokémon GO, you earn Stardust for catching Pokémon. The amount is generally 100 Stardust per catch. However, during certain events or seasons, this amount can be changed and increased.
Which Pokémon is it? Currently, the Stardust for catching Shellder has been greatly increased. So, you get 1,000 Stardust for a successful catch. If you chose the Stardust bonus at the start of the current Winter Holidays
event, you even receive 2,000 Stardust for a Shellder.
Up to 3,750 Stardust for a single catch
How can I get even more Stardust for the catch? By using an item and with a bit of luck regarding the weather, you can even further increase the amount of Stardust you receive. The following list shows you how much Stardust you can maximally gain when catching a Shellder.
- Shellder catch: 1,000 Stardust
- Including event bonus: 2,000 Stardust
- Event bonus + activated star piece: 3,000 Stardust
- Event bonus + activated star piece + weather boost: 3,750 Stardust
You can therefore receive a maximum of 3,750 Stardust with just a single Shellder. So if you currently need Stardust, you should keep your eyes open and catch Shellder when you see it. To make catching easier, you can try the recently discovered by the community bargain catch in Pokémon GO.
How can I encounter more Shellder? If you want to increase your chances of encountering wild Pokémon, you can help with items. You can increase the number of Pokémon that encounter you, especially while you’re out and about, using incense. You can also activate a lure module at PokéStops to attract more wild Pokémon here. This way, of course, more Shellder can also encounter you.
Perhaps you will even be lucky and discover a Shellder nest near you. A nest is a location where a specific Pokémon species spawns more frequently. That would be the ideal spot to collect a nice amount of Stardust in a short time.
