Trainers have noticed a new visual change in Pokémon GO that can be found in gym battles. We at MeinMMO have looked into what this new feature is and show you the community’s reactions.
What kind of battles are we talking about? In Pokémon GO, trainers have the opportunity to kick players of other team colors out of the gyms and occupy them themselves. This is done by competing against them alone or together with other trainers.
This type of battle is also referred to as gym battles. These take place similarly to raid battles in the respective gym. Now, trainers have noticed a visual change that makes the battle environment appear even more realistic.
Trainers feel watched by visual change
Besides the two battling Pokémon, which were positioned in the center of the gym, the stands were previously decorated in colors to represent a kind of audience. However, trainer MoonCheese58 has noticed a visual change right there that he shares with the community on reddit.
At first glance, the battle appears completely normal; however, Niantic has evidently put in a lot of effort in designing the spectator stands. There, you can see many different trainers in various poses. This looks significantly more realistic than the previous design.
And the walls of the gym hold a visual surprise for the trainers as well. They seem to observe the battle too, as they are adorned with many circles. They directly resemble the appearance of eyes.
The reddit community of Pokémon GO also finds this. While the post creator finds the new look of the gym amusing, other trainers are somewhat surprised and joke in the comments.
- SirJamesM: “Do the people in the stands really look like that? Just player avatars? That’s wild.”.
- SelfBoundBeatuy: “Tireless watchers, keep your eyes on this pathetic thing”
- rocketnail1000: “Big Brother is watching”
- LavitzOfBrasil: “That’s kind of creepy”
More visual changes in Pokémon GO
But the adjustment of the audience in gym battles is not the only change that trainers have noticed in Pokémon GO in recent days. After the maintenance work that took place last week, further new features have now been discovered.
Full Pokémon storage: One of them is an orange dot in the center of the Poké Ball that takes you to the menu. This lights up when your Pokémon storage is full, and you cannot catch another monster.
This is particularly helpful before the start of raids. This way, you can directly see if a monster needs to be sorted out before you can catch the raid boss.
And the capacity indication in the Pokémon storage itself and the item bag is also highlighted in red as soon as you no longer have free space. This way, you can also see at a glance whether you need to create new spaces.
Pokémon nearby: As trainer BirthdayAgent has noticed, the monsters in the “Nearby” overview are now also outlined with a blue circle. Players are also wondering in the comments whether this has a deeper meaning.
So, DanHero91 writes: “I noticed them earlier, what do they actually do? Or is it just a style question?” (via reddit.com). However, no one has been able to give him an answer so far. Niantic has also remained tight-lipped on this. Should there be new information, you will, of course, find out here on MeinMMO.
What do you think of the new look of the spectator stands in the gym battles? Have you noticed any other changes in the game? And what new features would you wish for the most? Feel free to share your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers on the topic.
