You enjoy collecting Shinys in Pokémon GO? Then the upcoming Sunday will be an exciting event for you.
What kind of event is this? The event is called “Catch Art”, and long-term Pokémon trainers might find this familiar. These events are about landing particularly good throws and earning rewards – including encounters with a particularly highlighted Pokémon.
This is also the case this time in the new season “Powerful and Masterful”.
When does Catch Art start? The event will take place on Sunday, March 16, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
All bonuses of the Catch Art event in Pokémon GO – Catch the Shinys
Which Pokémon is in focus? On Sunday, most of the event revolves around Flapteryx. You will encounter this little prehistoric bird by completing field research tasks focused on particularly good throws.
However, that’s not all: Amonitas and Kabuto will also appear more frequently in the wild. The exciting part? All three – Flapteryx, Amonitas, and Kabuto – have an increased shiny chance during the event.
This means you have a really good chance of catching three shiny Pokémon in one day and evolving them if necessary.

More bonuses with lots of XP: In addition to the Shinys, there are plenty of XP to collect – at least if you throw well. During the event, the following bonuses apply:
- Double XP for good, great, and excellent throws
- Double XP for curveball throws
You can collect a lot of XP through excellent curveball throws to work your way up to level 50.
Additionally, there will be a limited research task that will reward you with a total of 40 Flapteryx upon completion.
Finally, there will also be another limited research task in the shop that offers another 40 Flapteryx. However, this will be a paid task costing 2 US dollars (likely a similar amount in euros). But even without this research, the event has a lot of potential.
What’s next? This month has quite a lot going on. As mentioned above, the new season in Pokémon GO has started, bringing new Pokémon and many new dates into play. So there’s a lot happening in March.
