A new event has been announced in Pokémon GO. In addition to a new Shiny, there are several other exciting contents.
What kind of event is it? The “Tumbling Purmel” event will soon start in Pokémon GO. It begins on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM and runs until Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
Along with the debut of a new Shiny and corresponding bonuses, there will also be an increased Shiny chance for another Pokémon. Additionally, with the start of the event, you’ll be able to perform more guaranteed Lucky Trades.
Tumbling Purmel – All Contents
Which Pokémon is making its Shiny debut? Purmel, the Bug-type Pokémon from Generation 6, will be available for the first time as a Shiny at the start of the event. The Shiny chance is additionally increased during the event. To obtain the monster, you must collect and pin postcards.
You will need to collect postcards from various regions. For every 3 postcards from the same region, you will encounter a Purmel, which you can evolve into Puponcho and then into Vivillon.
Vivillon has a total of 18 different patterns. If you want to collect all variants of the monster, you will need to collect postcards or Purmel from many different regions.
What change is there with Lucky Trades? The number of guaranteed Lucky Trades will be increased from 25 to 35 during the event. This change will remain active even after the event.
Additionally, Pokémon caught in 2019 can now also be used for a guaranteed Lucky Trade.
What other Pokémon can be found in the event? In the wild, the following Pokémon will be waiting for you during the event:
- Raupy*
- Taubsi* (has an increased Shiny chance)
- Habitak*
- Waumpel*
- Staralili*
What bonuses are there in the event? In addition to the increased chance of Shiny Taubsi, the event will also feature the following bonuses:
- double experience points when spinning PokéStops
- 5 times the amount of experience points for the first spin of a PokéStop each day
- 40 gifts can be opened every day (60 if you’ve purchased the “Eggs Access: February” ticket)
Additional contents of the event: Like in most events, there will again be field research, PokéStop showcases, and a collector’s challenge that match the event.
For $5 (approximately €5), you can also purchase a limited-time research. In return, you will receive 16,500 Stardust, 3 special candies, an event avatar pose, and encounters with event Pokémon as rewards.
