Since the evening of October 20th, there is a new Limited Research in Pokémon GO. This is content brought by Niantic to apologize to you. One of the Halloween contents did not function correctly.
What kind of research is this? If you now open your Pokémon GO app, you will find a new research under the “Today” overview named “Limited Research”. Some trainers are confused about what the tasks involve. However, the developers explained that it is a kind of apology.
Because the development of Galar-Slowking has been faulty in recent days, frustrating some players.
Limited Research from October 20 – What’s inside?
Here are the tasks: The requirements are quite straightforward. After just one chapter, you will have completed the new research:
- Catch 1 Pokémon
- Reward: 10 Poké Balls
- Catch 3 Pokémon
- Reward: 50 Slowpoke candies
- Catch 5 Pokémon
- Reward: 1 Incense
Stage Reward: If you successfully complete all tasks and claim the rewards, you will receive an additional 1,000 Stardust, 1,000 experience points, and an encounter with Galar-Slowpoke.
From now on, you can again evolve your Galar-Slowpoke into Galar-Slowking without issues. And this is how the evolution works:
Why is there research?
Here was the problem: For the Halloween event 2021, Niantic activated the new evolution of Galar-Slowpoke to Galar-Slowking. For many trainers, this evolution is considered one of the highlights of the spooky event. Accordingly, the mood was poor when the news about the broken evolution spread in the community.
Some trainers evolved their Galar-Slowpoke with the corresponding requirements using the button for the Galar-Slowking evolution, but received Galar-Snorlax instead.
Niantic explained that the error was on their part. On Twitter, the developers wrote on October 20:
“Trainers, we thank you again for your patience while we resolved the issue with the Galar-Slowpoke evolution. As compensation for the inconveniences, a limited-time research is now available to all trainers.”
With this new Limited Research, Niantic apologizes for the development issues.
