Spotlight Hour on October 3
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? For the first Spotlight Hour in October, you can encounter the Water and Psychic Pokémon Slowpoke. It comes from the first generation and has two different evolutions, Lanturn and Gyarados. Lanturn also has a temporary Mega Evolution.
Moreover, Slowpoke has a Galar form, which will not be available during the short event.
What bonuses are active? In addition to numerous Slowpoke spawns, you can expect double candies for transferring Pokémon on this day. We recommend sorting your monsters with the help of tags and filters in the game before the event starts to make sure you only have to transfer them during the Spotlight Hour.
Is the event worth it? Slowpoke and its evolutions are not particularly strong and cannot really impress in raids or the GO Battle League. The Mega Evolution of Lanturn is the most interesting aspect here, as it increases your Psychic and Water attacks in battle and provides more candies when capturing these types when active.
If you also want to clean out your Pokémon storage, it’s a good day to do so and take advantage of the candy bonus.
Can you catch Shiny Slowpoke? Yes, Slowpoke can be caught as a Shiny with a bit of luck. You can recognize it by its slightly lighter body.
Spotlight Hour on October 10
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? The Grass Pokémon Spritzee will make its debut during the Spotlight Hour on October 10. It comes from the 3rd generation of games and can evolve into Aromatisse.
What bonuses are active? The Spritzee will also spawn everywhere in the short event. Additionally, you get an XP bonus. If you evolve monsters during the event, you will receive double experience points.
Is the event worth it? Yes, although Spritzee itself is not particularly strong, it has a very strong evolution in Aromatisse. The Grass Pokémon has a high attack and good moves, making it one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Furthermore, Spritzee is among the 22 monsters that give you more Stardust when caught. You can get 500 Stardust for a normal catch. If you use a Star Piece and a weather boost is active, you can receive up to 938 Stardust per catch. So if you need Stardust or are looking for a strong attacker for raids, you should take advantage of the event.
Can you catch Shiny Spritzee? Yes, Shiny Spritzee is active in the game and can be caught with some luck. In this form, its points are orange.
Spotlight Hour on October 17
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? On October 17, the spooky season begins with Gourgeist. This Ghost and Grass Pokémon comes from the 6th generation of games and can evolve into Pumpkaboo.
What bonuses are active? During the event, you can encounter lots of Gourgeist. Additionally, you will receive double Stardust when catching.
Is the event worth it? Gourgeist and its evolution are not particularly strong. There are much better attackers among both Ghost and Grass Pokémon. Therefore, the event is mainly worth it because of the double Stardust when catching.
Can you catch Shiny Gourgeist? Yes, if you’re lucky, you might encounter a shiny purple Gourgeist.
Spotlight Hour on October 24
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? In the second to last Spotlight Hour in October, things stay spooky with Paragoni, the counterpart to Gourgeist. It also comes from the 6th generation of games, is a Ghost and Grass Pokémon, and can evolve into Trombork.
What bonuses are active? Along with numerous wild spawns of Paragoni, you will receive double XP for catching Pokémon during this event.
Is the event worth it? Paragoni itself is not very interesting. However, its evolution Trombork can be quite formidable in both raids and the GO Battle League. According to PvPoke, it consistently ranks solidly in both the Super and Hyper Leagues. With a good attack value and its moveset, it is also one of the best Ghost attackers in Pokémon GO.
Whoever is on the way to level 50 should not overlook the XP bonus either.
Can you catch Shiny Paragoni? No, Paragoni is not yet available as Shiny in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour on October 31
Which Pokémon is in the spotlight? In the last Spotlight Hour in October, you will encounter the Ghost Pokémon Makabaja from the 5th generation of games. It can evolve into Echnatol.
What bonuses are active? During this event, you can expect plenty of wild Makabaja. Additionally, you can receive double candies when catching monsters.
Is the event worth it? Makabaja is particularly interesting for the GO Battle League. Echnatol has strong defensive values, allowing it to shine in both the Super and Master Leagues. If you don’t need Makabaja, you can also activate the Wonder Box or complete raids to take advantage of the candy bonus.
Can you catch Shiny Makabaja? Yes, Makabaja is active in the game as Shiny. With a bit of luck, you may encounter a specimen with a blue body and silver mask.
