The new Flashpoint update in ARC Raiders is very well received by the community of the extraction shooter. So much so that even players who had dropped out cannot resist the chaos of the new event.
What impresses the community so much? With the new Flashpoint update from Patch 1.22.0 for ARC Raiders, Embark Studios has really impressed. The community is cheering about the new content and improvements, such as the revised crafting system that players embrace with open arms.
Two new weapons and a new enemy type, the extremely dangerous (and now feared) Vaporizer, sparked great curiosity. Even among players who have already turned their backs on ARC Raiders:
“As a person who is already pretty burned out on ARC Raiders: The new update is a 10/10,” writes UsedNewspaper1775 on Reddit. The player had stopped playing 2 months ago because he – like many others – was simply exhausted from too much ARC Raiders.
However, the new update piqued his curiosity, so he agreed to play a round and found that suddenly 3 hours had passed, which he then spent in ARC Raiders. Almost 1,300 additional upvotes from other users show that he is not alone in this feeling, as the community recognizes: The chaos that Embark brought into the game with the new update is not only new – it is really fun.
Nothing is more “relaxed” – the new event causes chaos that excites players
What do players particularly praise? In the Reddit thread, it becomes clear that alongside the other solid news and improvements, the new event is especially well received. It featured the new map condition “Close Scrutiny”, where players are put to a tough test on their skills while attempting to loot so-called ARC Assessors.
The environments around the objective are full of hostile ARCs, including the nasty Vaporizer, a flying ARC that fires lasers and can target multiple enemies at once.
The chaos of the new event is vividly displayed in this recording by RoyceeKeanuu in tilt-shift style, which makes the events appear like a diorama:
Why is the event so well received? The chaos of “Close Scrutiny” brings a challenge that many players have lost after their entire time in ARC Raiders. It is exactly this chaos that makes the community happy, as can be seen from the reactions on Reddit:
“A damn awesome update,” writes aburridope, fully agreeing with the thread author, “I have seen more ARCs kill Raiders in the last 4 hours than in the last 2 months before the patch.”
SillyLittleMoth also understands the opinion of the post very well: “About two weeks ago, I slowly lost interest in playing and was hoping the new update would bring me back. The best thing about this update is that the new game mode is actually fun, which I think has been missing in the last two updates.”
After the new event of the Flashpoint update, the revised crafting system is also a significant improvement for the community and a sign that so-called “Quality of Life” updates can be just as effective as cool new weapons: ARC Raiders players cheer for a menu window, revamped crafting brings more joy than new weapons
