What are the most popular weapons from the base game? The most upvoted comment is from Venaborn: My favorite weapon, the Darkmoon Greatsword.
Over 2,100 players agree with him. Reddit user Yggdris also writes that the sword carried him through the DLC completely. He thought he would find a better alternative – but that was not the case.
On the other hand, CoachGiveAdvice writes that he thought he would get through the DLC entirely with the Greatsword but ultimately had to switch it out. The responses to his comment directly address another popular weapon: the Blasphemous Blade.
The blade is also a greatsword. The comment from Japancakes24, which brings it into the discussion, is the second most upvoted with over 1,100 likes. The blade is also the go-to weapon of the original poster of the thread, TheGingerDruid. He writes: The Ash of War on this baby kept me alive in many a battle.

Which weapons are still in the running? After the two greatswords, there is a long gap. The other suggestions all have upvotes in the low three-digit range:
Player HappyFreak1 specifically states that he didn’t bring any weapon from the base game into the DLC. Other comments also mention Mohg’s Spear, the Claymore Greatsword, and the Nagakiba.
