A player is surprised by an inconspicuous figure from his opponent in Warhammer 40,000. He himself explains that his opponent warned him. The community believes that non-Imperials often rely on inconspicuous units that can be quite damaging.
Warhammer 40,000 can be experienced not only on PC or console but also lives primarily from tabletop and its miniatures. A player recently had a fierce tabletop battle with another player and surprisingly lost. He underestimated an Eldar unit from his opponent completely.
Some in the community believe: The inconspicuousness is intentional to mislead unsuspecting players.
Inconspicuous Fire Dragons destroy the mightiest tank of the Adeptus Astartes
Who fought against whom? The player himself used a so-called Land Raider on the battlefield. This is according to the official Warhammer shop the most powerful weapon in the arsenal of the Adeptus Astartes and can hardly be defeated or only with great skill. You can also train the tank in the Warhammer RTS Dawn of War.
His opponent instead relied on a unit that he considered rather inconspicuous: The Fire Dragons. This is a unit of the Eldar that specializes in hunting vehicles and other heavily armored opponents.
The player reports on Reddit that he completely underestimated the Fire Dragons and that they destroyed his tank. He himself writes: “Although [my co-player] warned me, I did not accurately assess what the Fire Dragons are capable of.”
Another user explains that players have often fallen for this unit design. Most units that do not originate from the Imperium are disguised as inconspicuous troops and deal more damage than one might think:
My experience as a player of Imperial Guard and Space Marines is that most other non-Imperium factions have a lot of very scary units disguised as very inconspicuous models. At least the big guns for Imperium armies are usually large, too.
