Defeating Panthalus – How to Survive the Battle
The Perfect Preparation
If you want to face Panthalus, your Pals and you should be at least level 70.
Because Panthalus has the Water type, you should primarily have Electric-type Pals on hand. The best ones for this are:
- Beakon
- Helzephyr Lux
- Orserk
- Azurmane
- Grizzbolt
- Relaxasaurus Lux
- Rayhound
However, you can also take any other Electric-type Pals as long as you have leveled them high enough.
Also, you should not approach Panthalus without a high-ranked Pal Sphere, as you will not receive a reward if you do not catch him.
Additionally, remember to bring enough healing items and strong weapons like plasma cannons or guided rocket launchers.
Combat and Mechanics
The most important thing first: As mentioned above, think of a flying Pal. This way, you can relatively easily dodge most attacks like the tidal wave or the body slam that he uses later in the fight. Then you can focus on dealing damage without taking too much yourself.
The fight can roughly be divided into two phases:
- Phase 1
- Aim for the crystal on his head
- Beware of large tidal waves and quickly dodge with your flying Pal
- Once the crystal is destroyed, Phase 2 begins, and Panthalus increasingly relies on his body
- Phase 2
- Stay mobile and try to keep Panthalus at a distance
- In this phase, he uses devastating body slam attacks that you do not want to be caught under
- You have no special weak point to aim for here
Catching Panthalus
You don’t have to worry about accidentally knocking out Panthalus completely. If you bring his health bar down to 0, he falls to the ground, and you can catch him at your leisure. Just make sure you have a suitable sphere with you, because if you leave the area, you have to start over.
