There is an annoying glitch in Revelation Online . Players have been invited to the beta but cannot get into the game.
Last night, the long-awaited email arrived for me and a few others: You now have access to the closed beta of Revelation Online! Download the client here and everything will be great.
After I downloaded the approximately 17 GB, I was met with closed doors. The message comes: You do not have access yet. Please enter a code or purchase the Founder’s Package.
Those who are standing in front of a locked door after being invited and downloading a client may feel a bit of irritation rising within. In the Revelation Online forum, there are some who describe the problem. Apparently, a glitch has occurred.
The community manager says that those who were invited via the newsletter should try again today.
Update 22:05: There is a statement from the team. They invited so many people to the closed beta that the script is not functioning correctly, causing a backlog. The script was supposed to actually unlock the people they invited.
It will take longer before all invitees actually have access to the game. They ask for another day of patience. The statement is from this afternoon.
Crafting is often boring, here fantastic: The fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has a truly great crafting system for these 5 reasons.
Each of you probably knows the phenomenon of “just one more round of playing” and then it’s 1 o’clock. I experienced this last night with Final Fantasy XIV – especially with crafting. Suddenly it was 1 AM and I was wondering what I was actually doing: I was crafting.
In most MMORPGs, crafting is a joyless affair, where you watch bars fill up. In Final Fantasy XIV, it’s really good. But why?
The 5 reasons why Final Fantasy XIV has a really good crafting system
It’s due to these 5 specialties of FF14 that I want to introduce to you:
Crafter are their own jobs. Just like you can play as an archer or mage in FF14, you can also spend time in Eorzea as a leatherworker or blacksmith. There are 8 crafting and 3 gathering classes. You gain experience points through crafting. By taking the “appropriate tool” in hand, you switch from job to job. So, there are no “crafting alts”, you are your own alt.
There is specific crafter gear and stats – the jobs in FF14 are characterized by their own occupational clothing. My crafters look like artisans, not like warriors with a secondary job. I can also craft or buy items that make me better at my job. The different stats can be increased and clearly affect what I do. Just as I feel “more strength” as a warrior, I notice as a craftsman when my stats in control increase.
Yep, I like to twink …
The “self-sufficiency” gene is strong in Final Fantasy XIV. The synergy effects are grand. With the blacksmith, I craft better armor for my dragoon, the weaver sews the appropriate clothing for the blacksmith, and the miner can collect ores. This results in an interesting system. As I get better in my job, I can craft better items for the next job. The individual jobs feel almost like my own colony. I somehow like “self-sufficiency” in MMOs.
There are even skills for crafters and thus a mini-game is created. How do I use my skills to create masterpieces? If I reach certain levels in “other jobs”, I unlock additional skills through the cross-job system. In practice, this is surprisingly exciting: Do I aim for the maximum or settle for smaller chances to create a masterpiece? Am I satisfied with the 55% chance or do I get greedy, go for 80% and mess it up in the attempt?
The items are really useful and at least in the level 30 area, where I have most of my chars, are not instantly obsolete by drops. After a crafting session like yesterday, I feel that I have improved as a craftsman and have also enhanced my “combat” characters. I’ll notice that in the next instance.
Overall, a great system that other MMORPGs can take as an example! Just staring at bars – that was yesterday.
We also deal with the playful peculiarities of Final Fantasy XIV here:
The closed beta of Ghost Recon Wildlands starts in just a few days for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Soon you will be able to try the closed beta of Ghost Recon Wildlands as a player. Ubisoft announced today that the beta phase runs from February 3 to February 6.
During this time, you can extensively test the game on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. To avoid wasting playtime with the game’s download, a 25 GB pre-load will be available starting February 1.
Ghost Recon Wildlands Beta Registration
For a chance to participate in the closed beta of Wildlands, you can register on the official website. Here is the link to the beta registration on the official Ghost Recon Wildlands website. Keep in mind that registration does not guarantee beta participation, but only provides a chance. However, if you receive an invitation, you can invite up to three additional players on the same platform to participate in the beta. In Ghost Recon Wildlands, you can play in co-op mode with up to four players.
Officially it is stated: “During this Closed Beta, you can discover the first hours of Ghost Recon Wildlands in the province of Itacua, one of the 21 regions of our huge open world. You can fully explore this area and complete the story missions as well as engage in side activities. You have access to the complete functionality of the game, including character customization and GunSmith.”
In Ghost Recon Wildlands, you must confront the Santa Blanca drug cartel. How you come to be deployed in this location is revealed in the following video:

Blade and Soul will soon receive the latest update in 2017. In “Wings of the Raven”, it is about the Raven Lord, the traitor Lusung, new items, and guild PvP.
Blade & Soul will also receive a lot of updates in 2017. It starts on February 8 with “Wings of the Raven”. In it, the mysterious Raven King is our enemy and to beat him properly, NCSoft provides us with new items in this update. Additionally, the update offers new clothes for our Kung-Fu heroes, this time in the super tight Raven Feather look!
New Raids and PvP Battlefields
PvE fans can look forward to new challenges. The aforementioned Raven King awaits in two new instances for a beatdown. In the Sky Fortress, the Flutter Lord is responsible for the curse of the Hongmoon traitor Lusung. A total of 24 players can participate in this raid. Also new: The second raid, “Dusk of Khanda Vihar”. There, the ancient dragon Meganura has corrupted the entire region and he also deserves a proper beating!
These new challenges require new weapons. Therefore, the update features a new line of “Flawless Items”. The new weapon tier is called “Weapons of the Predator” and represents the new pinnacle of murder tools. Additionally, there are new accessories for even more power. The Raven update for Blade & Soul also offers plenty of PvP content. PvP fans can try out the new 6vs6 guild battlefields in the White Whale Lagoon and in the Windstorm Valley. For this, there are exclusive rewards, as well as future seasons and leaderboards.
The “Capture the Flag” mode in Overwatch works only “so-so” – too many drawn matches cause frustration.
With the current “Year of the Rooster” event in Overwatch, the developers have introduced a new game mode in the Arcade. It is the first attempt by Overwatch to establish a “Capture the Flag” mode in the hero shooter. However, Overwatch is not really designed for such a gameplay style.
On the map Lijiang Tower, two teams always compete against each other – their own flag is located right in front of the spawn area. The goal is clear and easy to explain: pick up the enemy flag, carry it to your own base, and prevent the opponent from doing the same.
In many cases, one of two scenarios occurs:
1. One team wins decisively. Capturing the first flag seamlessly leads to stealing the second one, and so on. A “death rotation” occurs where 2-3 teammates are constantly defeated. Since the flag is almost directly in front of the spawn, farming the incoming players becomes particularly easy.
2. One team goes fully defensive. Torbjörn, Symmetra, and Bastion ensure that endless battles occur at the flag, and no team can ever lay a finger on one of the flags (because one cannot take damage while taking it).
In the chat, you regularly read before a round even begins “Here goes another draw” – Another round “draw”.
If Blizzard wants to further develop this mode in the future, there are several issues to address.
Cortyn says: I too am just not warming up to the game mode. Although I experience significantly more clear decisions than draws, the matches are unfortunately never really exciting. Either there is a very clear winner that simply rolls over the other team, or it is an endless battle at one team’s flag point – but without real tension. Nice for a break, but certainly not a mode I will miss after the event ends.
The developers of the shooter MMO Project Genom are working hard on updates and will soon introduce new characters, including females, as well as additional levels.
The developers state that they regularly receive inquiries about when to expect new content for the shooter MMO Project Genom. The team then has to explain that due to the small number of employees, it takes a bit longer for everything.
But now there has been an update on what is currently being worked on. This includes new characters. Throughout the storyline, you will meet many important NPCs, which are now being created and introduced into the game.
Women will also be available soon
At the same time, they now finally want to bring female characters into the game. These have been sorely missed by players. Moreover, the character models will visually show the diverse mutations and genetic changes. This is supposed to ensure a lot of variety among characters.
The developers are also currently working on new levels and are revising the areas that are already in the game. This also brings new daily tasks and surprising encounters. Additionally, work continues on quests and the story.
There are also adjustments being made to balancing
New content is great and all, but the old content also needs adjustments. This is why continuous work is being done on the game’s balancing. This includes adjustments to the cooldown times of skills and the rate of fire of weapons.
Additionally, new items are being introduced that are also making their way into the game for balancing reasons. The developers are excited to receive so much feedback from the fans and want to ensure this continues in the future. Because this way they know what players like and where they need to make further adjustments.
Project Genom, the mix of science fiction shooter and MMORPG, is currently in an early access phase and can be played over Steam.
In Destiny, we present a list of items that players search for in vain in the game.
In Destiny’s past, items were repeatedly discovered in the databases that were not yet in the game at that time. Some of them were later introduced with an update, such as the 7 lost exotic armor pieces with “Rise of Iron”. Other items are still lost.
The Redditor A_Vengeful_Arch has compiled all these “unreleased items” in a list. Whether some of them will ever be available is unknown. Some will surely remain lost entries in the data.
In The Division, the Valkyria weapon set is excessively strong on the PTS. Over 14 million DPS are said to be possible with it.
On the public test servers (PTS) for Last Stand and Update 1.6, there is a new meta: It consists of the combination of SEEKR and the Valkyria set. Both items focus on critical hits and drive the DPS numbers to dizzying heights.
The Valkyria weapon set is considered “broken”, as a weapon set that destroys the entire balance. Moreover, the bonuses seem to be bugged, which is why it’s called the “Crazy DPS Bug” online:

The Division: What Valkyria does on the PTS with 1.6
The Valkyria submachine gun will be split into two exotic submachine guns with Update 1.6: They are said to be named Hildr and Eir, with Hildr still bearing the name “Valkyria” on the PTS. Both guns form an exotic weapon set. This means that the special talent only becomes active when both weapons are equipped simultaneously.
The talent causes every hit with Hildr to increase critical hit damage by 1% up to a maximum of 100%. The bonus decreases by 1% every second. The problem: Hildr has no critical hit chance. This means you need to build up the buff with Hildr, then switch to Eir and unleash the increased damage.
At least in theory, as the talent is bugged on the PTS: Instead of +1%, there are several percent, so this buff skyrockets quickly. The buff is displayed to you with a number that indicates how high it currently is. The symbol is located below the grenade display:
Incredible DPS Numbers
In combination with SEEKR, which increases crit damage by an additional 30% and every third shot is a crit, and talents like Prepared, you melt through hordes of enemies. Moreover, you don’t even have to aim precisely: body hits are enough to deal massive amounts of damage.
At just under 40% of the buff, you already have over 6 million DPS:
If the buff gets even lower, a “damage per second” value of over 14 million is possible. This gives you not only massive advantages in PvE but also in PvP. Users report that the Dark Zone on the PTS is currently unplayable.

Massive has already spoken up: They are aware of the problem and it will be fixed during the PTS phase. Some agents write that they are glad there are public test servers. Had the Valkyria weapon set come into the live game in this form, it would have been a disaster.
In Black Desert Online the long-awaited Margoria update has finally arrived. In it, your heroes can explore the vastness of the ocean, hunt sea monsters, and even engage in PvP battles with ships.
Black Desert Online may be named after a dull, dark desert, but contrary to its name, the current update takes you to the sea. The ocean of Margoria is fully opened for exploration with the new update. Of course, there are not just leisurely sea voyages on the waves. Sea monsters, other players, and sunken treasures are waiting for you.

Trade Ship instead of Donkey in Black Desert Online
Black Desert Online has always been an economic simulation where you started as a small donkey driver and later managed trade empires. Thanks to the new Margoria Ocean, you can now expand your business to the seas as well. In new port cities, you can acquire bases and send your goods across the sea for particularly thick profit!
If you prefer to go on sea voyages yourself, you can build one of many new ships and set sail with other players. From galleys to sailing ships, anything is possible. With the ships, you then hunt for sea monsters or raid other players as a pirate. PvP naval battles also occur as massive battles with entire fleets in the “Guild vs. Guild” mode. Ideal for protecting your trade routes from other players!
Additionally, Margoria offers fishing skills if you want to become a fisher. PvE fans, on the other hand, can look forward to more than 100 new missions. But even if you are not interested in any of the mentioned content, the beautiful underwater landscape of the Margoria Ocean should motivate you to dive. In the embedded video, you can see what awaits you underwater.
If you would like to test the Buy2Play game Black Desert Online, you can download a 7-day trial version from the official website of the game.

The two developers present the new dungeon “Coldblood Citadel” and the expedition “Fury from the Aether” in the video. Both instances can be launched in hard mode at “Overwhelming-Level-0” and those who wish can steadily increase the difficulty up to 10. For this, of course, there is more and better loot.
In the expedition “Fury from the Aether”, it’s about gruesome space zombies! The creepy cyber undead from the Mordesh race lost a ship during their escape and now the thing has resurfaced. Your heroes are to investigate the drifting wreck and uncover a gruesome secret!
In the dungeon “Coldblood Citadel”, you will fight against the gigantic Osun. Their warlord was slain in the previous addon “Off to Arkterra”, but his followers have survived and want to resurrect their ruler. Therefore, the dungeon takes you back to Arkterra, where you will be able to kick the chubby giant in the rear.
Not long now, and you will be able to explore the brutal world of Conan, the Barbarian, in the survival RPG Conan Exiles.

This is the beginning of your adventure, as you are that criminal and must build a new life in the land of the exiled.
Barbarians get the Barbarian Edition
Funcom also announced a special edition, the Barbarian Edition, of the game. This includes:
Digital Conan Exiles comic book

And more
The Barbarian Edition costs $59.99, the Standard Edition $29.99.
“The great thing about working on Conan the Barbarian is the fact that he is surrounded by a huge pop culture universe,” says Funcom CEO Rui Casais. “Working with Dark Horse Comics, Modiphius, and other Conan creators gave us the opportunity to put together a special edition that appeals to both fans and newcomers in the world of Conan.”

In The Elder Scrolls Online there are treasures that you can only find with the right treasure map. Here you will learn where to find the hidden treasure chests.
In The Elder Scrolls Online, you start – as in all ES games – as a penniless vagabond who, apart from a shabby weapon and a few rags, has nothing. Of course, you can work hard to acquire new stuff, or you search for treasures and become rich and well-equipped with little effort.
[toc]
Where are the treasure chests?
In order to unearth the treasures, you first need a treasure map. Treasure maps are scattered all over the respective zone and are random drops from enemies or from chests and other containers. Important: If you don’t have the map, you won’t be able to find any treasure. Even if you visit the correct location, there will be nothing to find there.
However, if you have a map, you will find a mound of earth at the specific location after activating it, which can be clicked on. Also important: In every area, only maps that are suitable for that area drop. So if you want to farm maps, you should do so where you want the treasures.
The reward for your efforts
After digging, you will receive a box with randomly generated content. However, there are always useful items of good quality inside, and what you can’t use, you can still break down for crafting materials or sell. Also, keep in mind that the items always have the level that you currently have. So it’s better to give the maps to your highest-level hero. In the following paragraphs, we will show you the locations of the individual treasure chests. By the way, there are also special treasure maps available only to buyers of the Collector’s Edition of ESO.
Treasure maps at Khenarthis Rest
On the idyllic Khajiit island, four treasures are already hidden and customers of the Special Edition can uncover two additional treasures. The locations of the treasures can be seen on the map shown below.
Treasure maps in Auridon
This (seemingly) peaceful island of the High Elves is full of treasures and secrets. There are six regular treasures hidden here, and those with a Collector’s Edition can snatch up a bonus treasure.
Treasure maps in Grahtwood
In the homeland of the Wood Elves, six treasures are buried along with a special location for buyers of the Collector’s Edition.
Treasure maps in Greenshadow
Deep in the forests, there are also six treasures and a special treasure hidden.
Treasure maps in Malabal Tor
Here you can see the treasure locations from another region of the Dominion with six treasures and a CE treasure.
Treasure maps in the Rift
The expanses of the plain in the Rift are the ideal hiding place for six treasures and a find from the Collector’s Edition.
The lives of various NPCs in GTA 5 can now be followed live via a stream.
The NPCs in GTA 5 have their own minds and often make questionable decisions. While driving on a highway, it can happen that a computer-controlled car suddenly rushes into oncoming traffic for no reason. But how do the NPCs actually live when there is no “real player” nearby watching them? Do they put their feet up and relax from online life, or do they perhaps behave even weirder than we know?
The sad life of five NPCs
In a Twitch stream, Brent Watanabe demonstrates how the lives of five civilians unfold in a modified version of GTA 5. The San Andreas Community Cam alternately shows five different characters and their “sad” lives. But why is their life so sad?
In the stream, you can constantly hear the NPCs crying and sobbing. It doesn’t matter which of the various characters is currently in focus. All are sad and express that (sometimes very loudly!). The stream started on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration, which might be a reason for the emotions. Right now, only a still image can be seen in the stream, which is why we embed a video of the stream here. You can access the stream here: Stream from Bwatanabe on Twitch.TV

The civilians play “themselves” and can control themselves. They make their own decisions and have no script dictating their actions. Currently, they often run into stores and cry in front of other NPCs or stand by the roadside, stopping overly cautious drivers.
Last year, Watanabe had an extraordinary stream idea where he showed a deer making its own decisions in the game. The deer caused traffic jams on the streets and observed gang shootouts. Whether the civilians experience similar adventures, you will find out in the stream.

Jeff Kaplan talks about the new “Capture the Flag” mode in Overwatch – which is actually many years old.
Yesterday, the new event “Year of the Rooster” was released in Overwatch, along with patch 1.7 and all its improvements. Jeff Kaplan didn’t make us wait long and shared his thoughts on the new game mode in the latest “Developer’s Update.” The “Capture the Rooster” mode is basically the well-known “Capture the Flag” mode from other games.
Tracer’s teleport would be too powerful if you could pick up the flag “directly”.
The Overwatch team had already experimented with this mode before the game was announced. In an early version, flag bearers could not use any major mobility abilities (like Tracer’s Blink, Winston’s Jump, or Reinhardt’s Charge), causing the flag to be dropped immediately. However, the team concluded that Overwatch did not feel right with restricted heroes – so the mode was scrapped.
After the game was released, many players demanded such a mode. Therefore, they relented and redeveloped the mode specifically for this event. All heroes can use all abilities, but picking up a flag takes time. You can watch the entire video from Jeff here:

However, they are not working on a competitive “Capture the Flag.” That doesn’t mean it could “never” happen, but it currently has absolutely no priority.
Cortyn says: Honestly, I am not having any fun with the new “Capture the Rooster” mode. The outcome of the match is often determined by a single firefight, as it quickly turns into a “snowball,” where one victory leads to another. I haven’t had really exciting matches with draws. Maybe the mode just needs some time and refinement to really fit into the world of Overwatch – or maybe it’s just not for me.
Cortyn complains again about shadow priests in WoW. Because during the week, even more flaws were noticed.
Good afternoon all grumbling friends on Wednesday! After I already ranted about the shadow priest in World of Warcraft last week, here comes round 2 – for one more week has shown me additional annoyances.
Since a large part of my guild decided to switch servers to move to more competitive areas with more players, I thought to myself “Go kiss my horns” and returned to my roots – to the Horde. I decided to level my priestess to 110 because the class has been my favorite for years.
Since the last patch, the spell “Mind Blast” no longer exists – this was previously a channeled spell that dealt area damage around the targeted enemy. The spell has now been completely integrated into “Mind Rend” – also a channeled spell that deals damage to a single target.
Basically, one might think: “Cool, 2 for the price of 1, why are you complaining?” It’s simple, let me explain:
As a good priestess, I keep my distance from my desired victim while leveling – I am after all a ranged class. In a good mood and quite confident, I then fire my Mind Rend at the Tauren. As the Tauren trudges angrily in my direction, he explodes into shadow magic. He doesn’t just take down the surrounding hostile NPCs – that would still be bearable. The new effect also pulls in all neutral creatures, such as deer, birds, moose, squirrels, the city guards of Stormwind, and community manager Lore. Nice, I get to see the spirit healer again, as she is also lonely.
There it goes. Nice when the practice dummies are so close together.
The same nonsense also happens with the practice dummies. To compare a few items and generally assess the damage of my still poor gear, I wanted to stand next to the practice dummy to refine my rotation, macros, and general gameplay. The great thing: I can’t. If a potential raid leader asks me “How much damage are you doing consistently?”, I can only shrug my shoulders. It’s not possible for me to train against just one opponent in the class hall because the practice dummies stand three together. So I always hit the two outer dummies, which distorts my values.
Sure, I could dissect the data further in Recount – which I also ultimately did – but it’s unnecessarily annoying. I’m repeating myself regarding last week, but the shadow priest no longer brings me joy. Maybe it’s time to switch to Holy after all.
With For Honor the closed beta is just around the corner. What time does it start?
Tomorrow, on January 26th, the closed beta of For Honor will start. Then you have the chance to take a peek into the online melee game even before the release on February 14th and get an impression for yourself.
Since yesterday, Ubisoft has been sending invitations to selected players. Those who receive an email will be assigned a code and can start the preload on PS4, Xbox One, or PC.
The starting shot will be on January 26 at 3 PM our time (CET). It will run until January 30 at 2 AM.
You have the whole weekend to fight each other in For Honor.
For Honor Beta – Invite Friends
So you don’t have to run across the battlefield alone, you can invite up to three friends to support you in the beta. The requirement is that you have received an invitation email from Ubisoft. If a friend does not accept your invitation, it will be sent back to you, and you can invite another friend.
The email from Ubisoft contains a link with which you can do this.
In The Division, the new SEEKR set is “overpowered.” It is currently being tested on the PTS for 1.6.
Since January 24th, the test servers for Update 1.6 and Last Stand have been live. Numerous PC agents are currently examining the preliminary content – and discovering some issues. Right at the launch of the PTS, there were matchmaking problems that have since been resolved. But the Ubi forum is still overflowing with bug reports and feedback about specific OP items.
A heated discussion has already arisen about a new item on the first day of the PTS: the SEEKR set. According to user reports, it is far too powerful. Why is that?
This is what makes the SEEKR set special
SEEKR, which is displayed as “Seeker” in-game, is the only new gear set being introduced with Update 1.6. And it has a lot to offer. Users are already predicting that SEEKR will define the new meta.
It consists of a total of six individual parts. If you equip multiple pieces, certain bonuses are activated. With four set pieces, the talent is active:
2-set bonus: +10% body shot damage
3-set bonus: +30% critical hit damage
4-set bonus – Talent S.E.E.K.R: After two consecutive body shots, the next shot is guaranteed to be a critical hit. You can switch targets during this.
In the game, the active talent is indicated by a green marking under the grenades. After two body shots, the symbol appears. Once the guaranteed crit shot is fired, it disappears again:
The bonuses are too strong
There are several reasons why users are dissatisfied with SEEKR. One reason is that this set does not require any skill from the player. No precision shots are needed to deal significant damage. Instead, you can wildly shoot at the enemy’s body. You have the entire hit area of the enemy available to deal a lot of damage.
Moreover, the bonuses granted by the set are excessively high. You always have the +10% body shot damage buff. Additionally, the +30% critical hit damage is enormous, considering that thanks to the talent, every third shot is guaranteed to be a crit.

By the way: The Exotics are highlighted in red so that you can easily recognize them in your inventory or as loot drops. The color of exotic items was not known before the PTS.
Ubisoft’s community manager Gabelikes has already commented on this meta in the forum: They are aware of it and will find a solution soon. There is still plenty of time before the launch of 1.6 and Last Stand to balance SEEKR on the PTS.

In Overwatch, Mei’s Wasp Waist is causing trouble. Does Blizzard not want Mei to have her pounds?
The heroes of Overwatch are supposed to reflect as many different types as possible – diversity is the motto of the hour. This means not only that as many nations as possible are represented in the game, but that there are also different types. Among the women, not just sex bombs should wield weapons.
The Chinese climatologist Mei, for example, does not match the typical 90-60-90 image (and a little more on top) that women in video games often fulfill. She is a bit chubby. Really just a bit. She looks more like regular women and not like those from television.
The new costume in the “Year of the Rooster” gives her a wasp waist.
It was no malicious intent from Blizzard. A community manager actually assures that there is a bug behind Mei’s Wasp Waist. Internally, they have already fixed it, and it will go live soon in a patch.
And then everything will be right again and will be where it belongs.
