The developers of the indie MMORPG Gloria Victis are currently revamping the hero’s controls to ensure that the battles feel really good.
Since a developer from the single-player RPG The Witcher 3 is currently working on the MMORPG Gloria Victis and is responsible for the animations, the hero’s controls should match the fluid and spectacular movements. Therefore, the team is currently revising the controls. They want the battles to not only look good thanks to the new animations but also feel good.
New animations require new controls
The new animations are currently about 75 percent complete. It should be noted that there must be specific movements for each weapon, detailing how the hero performs them. The more animations the character can execute, the more convincing it appears in the game.
The new animations will initially be implemented only for the player character. Once it has all the movement sequences and they work well, the NPCs and opponents will be adapted accordingly.
Fights will be expanded
The new behavior due to the animations brings a new control system. The so-called character controller needs to be adjusted. This simultaneously allows for new combat mechanics to be introduced, for example, that strong attacks can interrupt a strike or that blocking functions more effectively.
All of this must be synchronized to prevent lag, which can have fatal consequences, especially in PvP. The new controls and new animations are intended to make the gameplay smoother.
This update is one of the most extensive that the MMORPG Gloria Victis has experienced so far. The game is currently in an early access phase.
Today, the closed beta phase of Ghost Recon Wildlands ended. Since Friday, players could immerse themselves in the world of Ubisoft’s new tactical shooter and get a first impression of the game and gameplay. The overall mood of the game was well-received by many testers; however, there is still much work to be done to satisfy the players.
The beta of Ghost Recon Wildlands gave many players the opportunity for the first time to try out features such as the CharacterSmith and the GunSmith. You start the game with the visual customization of the Ghost in the CharacterSmith. There, players find many options to uniquely design their character by combining hairstyles, beards, accessories, scars, and clothing.
After character creation, you can team up with up to three other friends in cooperative mode. Your friends are clearly marked in the interface and on the minimap, so you won’t lose sight of each other. This is a significant advantage, as the world of Ghost Recon Wildlands is huge.
Vehicles
Civilians drive vehicles on the roads that you can “acquire.” While you may not necessarily steal a Lamborghini or a motorcycle, the vehicles have room for your entire team. This allows teammates to handle planning while one person in your team takes on the driving role. The selection of vehicles is decent and ranges from SUVs to airplanes and helicopters to tractors or ambulances.
Missions and Skills
You can use the vehicles to reach the mission deployment locations. In the active area of the closed beta, players could complete a few quests from the main story and had a selection of various side missions. On the way to the main missions, you frequently passed by side missions. This way, most optional tasks could be completed conveniently and without major detours.
The first story missions available in the closed beta gave an impression of how darker the story of this game is. Through notes and recordings found along the way to the quests, players gain interesting additional information about the people they encounter in Bolivia. The voice actors of the dialogues are particularly authentic. This can give you chills as you hear highly detailed recordings of the “enemies,” providing insight into the disturbed psyches of these individuals.
While main missions provide you with experience points and weapons, side missions mainly yield materials that you can use to skill. By skilling abilities, you specialize your Ghost in different areas. In the early levels, you can choose between enhanced drones with longer battery life, more stable aiming, or pain suppression to take less damage.
In various camps on the map, you can find weapon upgrades such as sights. To obtain these improvements, enemies must be defeated first. This feature stood out positively to me, as you can “earn” the modifications instead of simply receiving them as rewards for leveling up.
While these missions often resembled each other, this may change when multiple areas are published in the full game.
World
During the closed beta, a limited area was available for exploration. If you crossed the borders of this area, a countdown began whose expiration had deadly consequences. Those traveling by helicopter or airplane could see slightly beyond the limited test phase area. In the distance, deserts and mountains beckoned exploration.
Although the beta area was limited and only a small part of the large map, it left a significant and expansive impression.
The paths between the various missions were not too short and were mostly connected by a drive or a flight, making the mission objectives easily accessible. However, the developers should still make improvements to the handling of vehicles and aircraft. Because vehicles are used so frequently, the controls need further refinement as they currently feel vague.
Weapons
The weapon system of Ghost Recon Wildlands already works well in the beta. A Ghost carries two primary and one secondary weapon. Depending on the situation, you can comfortably equip many weapons with silencers to silently take out enemies.
You unlock new weapons as you progress in the game. One of the first new weapons in the beta was a sniper rifle that my team tested and found to be “good.”
Wildlands has a bullet drop mechanic that makes hitting distant targets more challenging. The further away an enemy is, the higher you need to aim above them to hit. This makes sniper kills more realistic, but also more difficult. However, when you do hit an enemy standing on a watchtower hundreds of meters away, the joy is all the greater.
Combat with assault rifles was not too easy either. “Adventure continuous fire” won’t get you far in Wildlands, as aiming requires skill. Overall, playing with the different weapon types was a lot of fun.
During the beta, players had access to assault rifles, sniper rifles, light machine guns, shotguns, and pistols. With the GunSmith, weapons could be customized, for example, by equipping different optics. While there was not a large selection available during the testing phase, the complete game is supposed to offer over 10,000 customization options.
Conclusion on the Ghost Recon Wildlands Beta
The closed beta of Ghost Recon Wildlands showed that the game has a lot of potential. However, many functions need to be improved before the game releases.
Despite these criticisms, I had a lot of fun during the beta phase. If they handle the feedback from fans correctly and tweak a few things, Ghost Recon Wildlands has a bright future ahead. However, whether a large Day 1 patch will be enough to solve the problems is questionable. The release is already set for March 7, 2017. A delayed release would provide more time for fixing issues, but whether that is still possible at this point is uncertain.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is an exciting co-op tactical shooter that still has its rough edges. If the community feedback is taken seriously, we can expect a strong title in the co-op shooter genre.

Hanzo kills with his eyes closed and Genji knows when you are trying to trick him – our Overwatch POTGs of the week.
Every week, absurd, exciting, or just funny moments happen in Overwatch that are often captured in a “Play of the Game”. We searched social media and picked out three special highlights for you. Enjoy our 3 “Play of the Game” moments of the week in Overwatch!
Now and then, there are situations in which you just put down your weapons in Overwatch. When Doctorezreal encounters the opposing Soldier: 76 and he does not shoot, Genji takes the deceptive peace. Both players greet each other with an emote – a clear sign of the truce. But just at the moment when Soldier: 76 wants to backstab Genji, Genji’s sixth sense kicks in …

As McCree, the player ForTheHorde chose a particularly bad time for his “High Noon”. Hardly is the ultimate ready, all enemies have already died before he can fire. But instead of letting the shots go to waste, McCree continues to wait – and wait and wait. In fact, a saving Mercy comes around the corner, serving him the “Play of the Game” on a silver platter.

Our last entry is more amusing than an actual Play of the Game. Almost everyone has been shot by a Hanzo and had no idea where the arrow came from. However, the player RobotNinja lives up to his name and shoots his enemy without even looking in his direction. The probably funniest use of a scatter arrow in a long time. Was that intentional or a coincidence? We may never find out.

In the action MMO Marvel Heroes , two new heroes from the X-Men universe, Beast and Jubilee, make their debut.
Dr. Henry McCoy is a nice guy with high intellect, massive hands and feet, and blue, fluffy fur. The mutant from the X-Men circle is the 60th hero in the action MMO Marvel Heroes.
Beast is one of the original X-Men and was designed back in 1963 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
As a new companion, the mutant Jubilee joins Marvel Heroes. She also belongs to the X-Men universe.
Jubilee is a teenager who first appeared in the comics in the late 80s. But even in 2016, she still looks pretty fresh. She can spark and cause things to explode.

Steel is a must for every barbarian in Conan Exiles. But how do you get the coveted bars of this precious metal? How do you craft stronger equipment? Here you will find out!
“You must unravel the secret of steel!”, advises Conan’s father in the legendary first barbarian film with Arnold Schwarzenegger to his son. Those who thought back then: “Pff, how hard can that be? It’s just steel!”, can now try in the survival MMO Conan Exiles whether they can unveil the secret of steel and craft steel bars for their weapons.

However, steel is not exactly easy to obtain, and even if you know how to produce the precious metal, you need tons of materials before you hold shiny steel bars in your hands. But one step at a time.
If you want steel, you first need iron. You can find this in “iron stones”, which sometimes come out of regular rocks. However, this meager yield is never enough for your later needs, so you unfortunately have to climb up to higher mountain regions.
Because there you will find pure iron deposits as well as coal (useful as fuel during the later smelting). But beware, there are some wild animals lurking up there, and the valuable iron is, as experience shows, happily mined by all players on the server. If your PvP option is on, you should proceed carefully or form a mining and protection community with other players.
Then throw the iron ore as well as wood or coal into the furnace, and two iron stones will produce one iron bar.
The riddle of steel lies in the trees
If you want to make steel from iron, you need another resource called steel fire. You obtain this from tar and sulfur.
Sulfur can be found in small quantities in caves and in larger numbers in the great sulfur pit in the northwest. However, some dangerous opponents are also lurking there, so be careful. Sulfur itself is mined with the pickaxe from sulfur stalagmites.
Up in the northwest, there’s sulfur.
Tar is more complicated to obtain. It is actually a byproduct of tanning hides from bark. Bark is easy to obtain if you know how. To gather bark, you simply have to hit a tree with the pick instead of the axe; then you get the bark.
From two pieces of tar and sulfur, you can produce the coveted “steel fire” in the “fire bowl cauldron”. This, in turn, results in one steel bar with 5 (!) iron bars. So you should produce a good amount of iron in advance if you want to stock up on steel. Steel, in turn, is used for strong tier-3 building parts and weapons with which you can effectively destroy such buildings.
In the MMO shooter Destiny, skeleton keys and SIVA key fragments cause problems.
The skeleton keys themselves are a great feature and were received positively by the community at the launch of “Rise of Iron” as meaningful additions. With them, you don’t have to play the same strike over and over again in hopes that the boss will finally drop the coveted strike-exclusive item.
There have been ongoing issues with the skeleton keys throughout the months of RoI. Currently, Bungie is investigating user reports that skeleton keys and SIVA key fragments are suddenly disappearing from character inventory.
This annoyance tends to occur more frequently when the maximum number of skeleton keys (5) or SIVA key fragments (200) is reached. Additionally, the items can disappear when logging out, switching characters, quitting the game, or turning off the console after not picking up an engram (that contains the key) in the game.
As a temporary solution, Bungie suggests the following:
Make sure you always have enough inventory space for the items
and collect the white engrams that enemies drop (which contain the keys)
This is not the first skeleton key problem that guardians and Bungie have had to deal with. Right after the launch of RoI, skeleton keys didn’t drop at all, then they disappeared from the post office and were permanently deleted. There was also recurring criticism that Bungie was too stingy with the keys. For the “The Dawning” event, the drop rate was increased, and Nightfall became a guaranteed source for skeleton keys.
The next Hearthstone expansion leads to Un’Goro! At least, this has been revealed by a possible leak.
At Blizzard, there seems to have been another new leak pointing to the next Hearthstone expansion. A clever user checked the resumes of some voice actors who have worked with Blizzard multiple times. When looking at the voice actress Lani Minella, they found that she apparently voices some lines in the game Hearthstone: Lost Secrets of Un’Goro. The hype train is already in full swing, as an expansion with this name does not yet exist.
In the corresponding expansion, Minella voices lines for the characters “Golakka Crawler”, “Pteradactyl”, “Anklesaur”, “Hydra”, and “Brontosaurus” – all related creatures that actually exist in the crater of Un’Goro.
The next expansion for Hearthstone is expected around April – Blizzard plans to release two adventures and one “card expansion” per year.
Although the source seems credible, it remains to be seen whether the leak is confirmed.
In terms of storyline, the Un’Goro crater has much more to offer than meets the eye. The Un’Goro crater is not only a wild jungle with giant dinosaurs and largely untouched nature but also a testing ground for the Titans, who have experimented here on a smaller scale on how to develop the species of Azeroth. There are still titanic artifacts and structures there that researchers have not yet fully uncovered – so there are plenty of “Lost Secrets” to be found.
In Un’Goro, there are also many silly things – like Maximillian of Northshire.
Aside from that, Un’Goro in World of Warcraft is a huge homage to Nintendo – monkeys leave crates behind and the two brothers “Mario and Luigi” (with slightly altered names) are causing havoc there.
The “Last Stand” mode in The Division is largely about PvE. Massive wants to know about your experiences with it.
The PC agents can now enjoy themselves on the public test servers and try out the new PvP mode “Last Stand.” However, this mode is actually not that “PvP” as many agents thought. The PvE, meaning the fight against NPCs, plays an important role if you want to successfully complete the mode.
Massive has now launched a survey about the “Last Stand” mode. They want to know how your PvE experience on the PTS has been so far.
In “Last Stand,” the primary focus is on capturing zones and defending against the other team. However, there are not only other players on the map but also PvE enemies.
These are a source for the currency SHD-Tech. With it, you can gain tactical boosts and set up turret fortifications at the zones. To take advantage of these benefits, you need to constantly collect SHD-Tech – you must continuously defeat NPCs. Read detailed information about the “Last Stand” mode here.
In the survey, Massive now wants to know:
Is the role of PvE in Last Stand understandable?
How crucial is PvE for gameplay?
Is the effort for tactical boosts worthwhile?
Is the difficulty of the PvE enemies appropriate?
Is the PvE in Last Stand fun?
It will likely take a few more weeks before agents on PS4 and Xbox One can access the “Last Stand” mode. Briefly, the community developer Yannick Banchereau mentioned February 28 as the release date, before this premature information was removed.
Have you played “Last Stand” already? Share your experiences with us in the comments.

The Elder Scrolls Online brings housing into the game with the update “Homestead”, you can finally buy your own houses. The huts are located in all regions of Tamriel and can be lovingly furnished. Here you will learn what is available, where the houses are, and how much the fun will cost.
The Elder Scrolls Online now offers a justice system, the Thieves Guild, and also the assassins of the Dark Brotherhood. However, a typical Elder Scrolls feature is still missing: housing! Because while the hero from Kvatch or the Dovahkiin could comfortably lounge in their own house, your heroes in ESO are all homeless.
ESO Housing – All building types, zones, and their costs
On February 6, 2017 (PC) and February 21 (consoles), the “Homestead” update will be released which includes 39 houses that you can fill with over 2,000 decorative items and furniture. All houses can be purchased for gold in the game, but you can also buy them with real money through the Crown Store.
This also applies to furnishing. A table from Reddit with preliminary information about the houses can be found in the next paragraph. It lists the regions of the buildings, the architectural style of the builder race, and the costs for purchase and furnishing. Have fun planning your new home!
Oops, unfortunately this table is no longer available.

Is the world-first kill of Gul’dan in WoW “legit” or not? Exorsus is facing challenges in the WoW race for first kills.
Last weekend, the race for first kills in World of Warcraft reached a new peak. The final boss of the Nighthold, the current end content of Legion, was defeated by the Russian guild Exorsus on mythic difficulty.
Although Exorsus is undoubtedly an excellent guild with some of the best players in the world, there have been issues in the past – for instance, the guild was banned during the kill of Helya (the previous end boss) for exploiting a bug. The community closely scrutinized this time and looked for possible bugs that may have been exploited – and they found some.
According to reports, one of the druids in the raid had the buff from the trinket “Darkmoon Deck: Repose”, which reduces spell costs. However, several players noted in the stream: the druid isn’t even wearing the trinket and still has the buff!
Exorsus denies the allegations and asserts that the appropriate trinket was worn and no exploit was used. If it appears otherwise in the stream and video of the kill, it is said to be an interface or display error that can be triggered by various addons.
The final clarification came from Blizzard itself. Josh Allen, the American community manager, answered the specific question about the buff from the trinket, stating that there is “no reason to believe that something is wrong with the kill.” Since Blizzard usually examines first kills very closely, this chapter of allegations should come to an end.

How to upgrade the Sunsinger Warlock in PvP from Destiny? With this build called “Rise of the Sunsinger”!
Meanwhile, it has been months since a fresh breeze blew through the Crucible. There is a lack of content. The last weapon balancing occurred with the launch of “Rise of Iron” in September 2016. Guardians are craving something new.
If you want variety, you can also take the initiative and try out a new Guardian loadout in PvP. Like this one. Mesa Sean presents his build called “Rise of the Sunsinger”, which is supposed to be a Killer Warlock PvP Build:

This character setup builds on the Solar Grenade of the Sunsinger and on the exotic gloves “Sunsinger’s Regalia”. This piece of armor comes with this useful perk:
Helium Cycle: Increases the duration of the Solar Grenade and you get an additional Solar Grenade charge.
Furthermore, the Sunsinger’s gloves increase grenade throw distance and provide movement transfer (melee energy on grenade hits) or impact induction (grenade energy on melee hits). This piece of armor is fully specialized on the Solar Grenade.
Sunsinger’s Regalia
For the remaining armor pieces, you should ensure that intellect (for super) and discipline (for grenade) are maxed out. The artifact used here is Gheleon’s Rest, which gives you a detailed radar that remains active even with the primary weapon equipped.
For the focus, these focus nodes are important:
Solar Grenade
Radiant Skin: Light reduces damage taken while active.
A major advantage of this build lies in the defense: Especially when heavy ammo comes, you can claim it for yourself with the grenade flood. Since the Solar Grenades have a longer duration, no opposing Guardian can get close to you quickly. With the Sunsinger’s gloves, the grenades last about 12 seconds, without the exotic around 6 seconds.
An alternative to Sunsinger’s Regalia is the chest piece Heart of Praxic Fire. When Radiance is active, all ability cooldowns are reduced. This means you can throw grenades even faster than with Sunsinger’s Regalia. However, since Solar Grenades burn twice as long with the gloves, these are preferred.
Conclusion: According to Mesa Sean, this build is not only a lot of fun, but it also performs surprisingly effectively in PvP. Because you seriously trouble the opponent with your Solar Grenades. He handles it better than with the Voidwalker or Stormcaller.
What do you think of it? How do you play your Warlock?
The primal Ancients in Diablo 3 were not well received by a large part of the community. Now Blizzard responds to this criticism.
On the PTR servers of Diablo 3, players can currently try out the Patch 2.5.0 .
In this patch, Blizzard introduces the archaic items, which are even rarer than ancient items. While the archaic items also have better stats, they are supposed to have a particularly low drop chance. Many players from the community did not find the implementation of these new items good and expressed criticism. Blizzard takes this negative feedback to heart and provides an official statement.
Concerns about the changes are justified
After the archaic items were introduced, there were many discussions among the players. A new rarity level with extremely low drop chances is not what the community wants as a change for Diablo 3. Even Diablo creator David Brevik criticized the primal Ancients, as it feels like players have no influence over the loot.
Many players are not interested in the increased grind and expressed their concerns and suggestions for improvement in the Diablo forums and on Reddit. Blizzard did not miss this negative feedback. The Community Manager Nevalistis provided feedback in the forum and announced significant changes.
The Blizzard team was aware that the introduction of archaic items would be somewhat controversial due to their extreme rarity. According to Nevalistis , there are good and justified concerns. Due to the feedback, there will be significant design changes to the archaic items. However, these changes are not set in stone. Since there are still technical hurdles to overcome, these changes will not be included in the next PTR patch but at a later time.
The Patch 2.5.0 will likely not come until the beginning of the tenth season. Until then, Blizzard has time for major changes to these items.
Do you have ideas on how to improve the archaic items in Diablo 3?
Many agents are dissatisfied with the content of the Season Pass in The Division. They expected more than three game modes.
A year ago in March 2016, I was one of many agents who excitedly bought the Season Pass just a few days after launch. Why not? The story of The Division was strong, the atmosphere convincing, and Massive promised free updates and fresh content throughout the year. It was perfect!
The hefty 40 euros for the Season Pass made some agents hesitate briefly, but the future of the shooter looked tempting and promising. Additionally, Massive and Ubisoft lured with monthly rewards for Season Pass holders. Before you knew it, the Season Pass was purchased.
In hindsight, we now know that the following months were not nearly as glorious as hoped. Apart from the many issues, was the Season Pass really worth the 40 euros? Did it deliver what the agents expected?
These are the contents that the Season Pass brought
In addition to exclusive rewards, which probably didn’t wow anyone, the Season Pass includes three game modes as highlights:
Underground: You descend into the underground, fight your way through randomly generated areas, rank up in the underground, and receive rewards at the end.
Survival: A survival mode where you start “naked” in the middle of a snowstorm with a new character, fight for your survival, and ultimately gain rewards for your main character.
Last Stand: A standalone PvP mode that is currently being refined on the PTS.
Additionally, the Season Pass includes two incursions: “Dragon’s Nest” and “Lost Signal.” Initially, there were exclusive gear sets with 1.3, which are now available to all players.
What about story or a larger map?
A Reddit user’s opinion gained overwhelming support in recent days. He complains about the Season Pass: “I actually didn’t want this content at all.” He bought the Season Pass expecting new story missions or map expansions. And now it only delivers three game modes that are separate from the main game.
Another user writes that “Last Stand” is the last thing The Division currently needs. This DLC does provide a larger Dark Zone, and therefore a map expansion to some extent, but the long-requested desire for new story missions is still not fulfilled. The demand is for content that advances the main game and shapes the agents – not just additional modes that provide a brief change of pace.
One agent states that the Season Pass was a complete disappointment for him. The story and setting had so much potential. So now we ask you: Are you satisfied with the Season Pass? Did you expect more from the paid DLCs?
The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is receiving the add-on Homestead today, on February 6th. It includes the long-awaited housing feature for TESO.
Finally, the day has come! Today, February 6th, at 10 AM, Tamriel will go quiet for server maintenance, temporarily resting to awaken with new features after the maintenance work. Of course, we are talking about housing!
Fans of ESO have been requesting the introduction of player houses since the release in 2014. Rumors and vague announcements about housing have circulated repeatedly. Towards the end of 2016, the housing add-on Homestead was finally confirmed.

With Homestead, The Elder Scrolls Online finally receives a feature that has long been present in the offline Elder Scrolls titles like Skyrim or Oblivion. In ESO, you have a much larger selection with 39 different houses than in other ES games. Additionally, you can easily set up the shacks using an easy-to-use editor.
You unpack an item from the furnishing browser, rotate and place it freely in the desired position in the room. It does not matter if the object is resting on something, embedded in other objects, or even floating freely in space. If someone wants to create a crazy mage’s lair where all the furniture floats in the air, they can certainly do so. Creative players can even build their own houses inside the pre-fabricated buildings using individual stones and beams.
Help, Where is My House! – The First Steps in Housing in The Elder Scrolls Online
“That all sounds great, but where will I find the houses once they are online?” Quite simply!
Once the maintenance work in ESO ends this afternoon, you can immediately rent a small room in an inn from the NPC “Canthion the Housing Broker” and get your first experience with house ownership. Canthion can be found – depending on your alliance – in Vulkhel Guard, Daggerfall, or Davon’s Watch.
If you want more houses, you can either buy them with real money via the Crown Store or look for the shacks on the map and acquire them directly with in-game currency. However, note that for some buildings you must first complete specific quests in order to buy them with gold. This doesn’t apply to the Crown Store, where you can also acquire the houses fully furnished and view them in peace.
We asked ZeniMax and learned that the maintenance work should end today – barring any issues – between 2 PM and 5 PM. After that, all PC players of ESO can freely play the housing add-on Homestead and build and furnish houses.
Console gamers, on the other hand, will have to wait a bit longer. For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Homestead – as always – will arrive about two weeks later on February 21st.
In the upcoming MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, not every race is suitable for every class. Therefore, there are certain restrictions.
Those who are considering specific races in Pantheon should also look at which classes these races can embody. Because not every race can take on every profession. As a human, you have the most options. Humans are all-rounders and can belong to any of the 14 classes.
Which race can become which class in Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen?
However, this is not the case for the other races. We have here a “matrix of classes and races”. If you click on it, you will enlarge it.
Not every race is allowed to practice every profession
The developer studio Visionary Realms has published a list showing whether your desired race can also choose your desired class. For example, those who hope to be accepted into the order of paladins as a gnome might be disappointed, because gnomes unfortunately have to stay out.
Dwarves cannot become monks or wizards, as they apparently have little affinity for magic. Ogres are more focused on nature classes like shamans and druids. As warriors, they also like to hit hard.
Put together your desired hero well
Based on the list, you can see exactly which race can take on which class, and you can already think in advance about which character you would like to play. This may mean that you have to make some compromises and arrange yourself somehow, but you already know that from other role-playing games. Not every race is ideally suited for a specific profession.
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen aims to be a classic MMORPG in the style of Everquest 1 and focus on PvE and group content. A beta should start later this year.
The open beta of For Honor starts in a few days. We look at some highlights and “Funny Moments” from the previous test phases.
Slowly the hot phase for For Honor begins. Already next week, on February 14th, Valentine’s Day, the release of Ubisoft’s close-combat action game is set. Those who can’t wait a week longer will get the chance to dive deeply into the war between samurais, vikings, and knights in just three days.
From February 9th to February 12th, all players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC can download and play an open beta for free. And the best part: No registration is required as was necessary for the closed beta. Everyone interested is invited.
“Highlights” from the previous test phases
To prepare you for the beta, we now show you some amusing scenes captured by players during the previous test phases. For Honor provides not only intensive close-combat fights but also moments to chuckle.
Let’s start directly with this curious ladder bug:

After Closed Beta then Early Access and Launch
After the beta, which would be around March/April, they plan to move into Early Access.
In Early Access, the battle royale shooter aims to stay for about six months. A full release of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is expected to occur in 2017 – that would be around the fall, if all plans are kept and come to fruition.
More about Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, the background of the creator, and the design ideas can be found in this article:
Console players will also soon be able to hang themselves on meat hooks – Dead by Daylight is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In Dead by Daylight, 4 players try to repair generators as survivors to escape the map, while one player acts as a killer, hunting the other players to kill them and sacrifice them to the strange “Entity”. Asymmetric games have become popular in recent years.
Dead by Daylight is considered one of the hidden gems of 2016 – the development team has grown from 10 to nearly 50 people in just under 2 years.
The game’s success on Steam has now led to the announcement of the latest plans in a livstream. According to them, Dead by Daylight will not only be playable on PC anymore but will also be released this year for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!
Dead by Daylight – Release Date for PS4, Xbox One in 2017
However, there is still no specific date, and the statements from producer Mathieu Cote were also not conclusive. In the stream, they mentioned “Q2 2017”, which would mean between April and June. However, he could also have meant “Que to 2017”, which would simply mean “sometime” in 2017.
An official statement regarding this obvious misunderstanding is still pending. You can find the corresponding part in the previous developer livestream here:

The stream also covers other topics that are relevant to the PC version. There will be a major patch this week that raises Dead by Daylight to version 1.4, updates the engine to the latest version, and fixes numerous bugs. There has been a lot of criticism regarding matchmaking and performance issues, which they want to silence with the upcoming update.
In an AMA on reddit, the plans for the future of Conan Exiles were presented. It’s about models, genitalia, and their mutilation.
Things are rough in Conan Exiles, and it’s going to get even rougher. In a “Ask Me Anything Hour,” the developers from Funcom chatted on reddit about their plans for the survival MMO.
For now, the Funcom team is working on relatively simple and fundamental things. They want to improve the feel of combat, refine numerous little details that promise a better player experience. They also plan to address bows and crossbows.
Once that is done, they want to distinguish between “light” and “heavy” attacks in the combat system. The dodging mechanic is set for a complete overhaul.
Snip-Snip, Penis Off
The much-discussed penis slider is said to be a natural development stemming from the decision to stay true to the setting and allow nudity. And if there’s already a slider for breasts, then… equality and all that.
Just as it’s currently possible to drag NPCs to your base, it should also be possible to knock out opposing players and then sacrifice them to your god for a powerful boost.
One can imagine torture and killing tools like an Iron Maiden. They also want players to truly be able to harvest the heads of their enemies and display them on spikes outside their fortress. Perhaps even castration will come at some point.
Conan Exiles Aims to Land Somewhere Between Skyrim and Minecraft – ARK as Inspiration
The team’s vision is to place Conan Exiles somewhere between Skyrim and Minecraft. It is intended to be a game where NPCs navigate in a living, breathing world. Players should be able to exert a noticeable influence on their environment.
When asked which survival games influenced Conan Exiles, Funcom replies: All of them. They played Minecraft and DayZ when the genre started. And since then, all the others. Apparently, they have great respect for ARK. It expanded the genre. They are thankful to all the predecessors, borrowed their ideas, and connected them with their own.

To face easier opponents in Overwatch , some players intentionally lose – but Blizzard is putting a stop to that.
In online games, there are plenty of behaviors that can really annoy other players. This starts with teabagging, goes through bad behavior in chat, and has yet to fully test the limits of creativity.
Many players of Overwatch who have achieved a high skill rating intentionally lose some matches to lower their skill rating. The consequence is that the “good” player is assessed as worse and subsequently plays against significantly weaker teams that they can easily steamroll.
While it is definitely forbidden to intentionally troll your team members when they are “randoms”, one user wanted to know what happens when an entire team of 6 people decides to simply lose without a fight. After all, theoretically, no one gets hurt unwillingly in that scenario.
Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch, addressed this directly in the official forum:
“We are strongly against this behavior and are currently working on guidelines to detect and sanction such behavior. Even if you are playing in a team of 6 people, intentionally losing to drop in skill rating is not acceptable.”
“For now, please use the reporting system and select ‘Griefing/Inactivity’ to report this behavior (the reporting system will soon be available on consoles as well).”
This clarifies the stances on this issue. Those who intentionally lose, whether in a team of like-minded individuals or alone, hinder the enjoyment of all other players. Therefore, anyone who does not want to face account penalties should always give their best – or at least not get caught doing otherwise.
