In For Honor, Ubisoft’s bloody melee action game, Season 2 starts today. Those who own a season pass can already play the new heroes Shinobi and Centurion. A video from Ubisoft explains the gameplay of the two newcomers.
For Honor starts today, May 16, with Season 2. It is again about conquering various territories and defeating masses of enemies. All of this is even more fun now, as the developers at Ubisoft have introduced two new maps and two additional heroes into the game.
If you have a season pass for For Honor, you can start with the new heroes Shinobi and Centurion today. To let you know how the new heroes play, there is a new video from Ubisoft that showcases the abilities of the new heroes.
The Shinobi is an assassin with no permanent block angles and fights with two sickles on chains. This allows the Shinobi to pull enemies towards him and attack from a distance. Additionally, he can run faster than other heroes and become briefly invisible in combat as a ninja.

The Centurion, on the other hand, is a hefty hybrid fighter who strikes in close combat with a gladius short sword. He is a tactical class that masters a variety of combos and executes the special effect “Imperial Might” after certain hits. More details about the new characters can be found in the video here.
If you don’t have a season pass, you can play the new heroes starting May 23.
In LoL you will soon be able to communicate with allies without using third-party software. Another opportunity for toxic players to annoy.
A voice chat for League of Legends has been discussed in the community for years. The fans generally split into two camps regarding their opinions: “Yes, we need it. This makes it much easier to communicate tactics and team fights” and “No, this is just another source where we get flamers and ragers.”
In recent years, it didn’t seem like RiotGames wanted to implement such a communication tool in the game. However, during a Q&A session from Riot Korea, it was recently announced that the voice chat is currently being tested internally.
Teamwork is to be promoted through voice chat
On Reddit, user Calycae posted a translation of the Q&A session. According to this, the voice chat is already being tested internally. In the past, the team expressed concerns that such a communication tool could lead to toxic behavior. After reconsidering the tool, the team decided to develop such a voice chat:
“League of Legends promotes team sports that are based on teamwork. We believe that a voice chat can be valuable when players are paired with other random players. Therefore, the chat is currently being tested.”
There is still no fixed release timeframe for the feature. The translation states: “After the update for the game client has been implemented, we expect more concrete plans and may make initial arrangements.”
This sounds like the feature has already been officially confirmed. However, community manager “Runeterra” subsequently explained on the Korean website Inven that the term ‘confirmed’ cannot be used yet: “The voice chat is currently receiving positive, internal feedback. However, this does not mean that the feature is ‘confirmed’.”
What prevails: Tactics or Flame?
From the players’ perspective, such a voice chat is a good opportunity to exchange ideas with other players, discuss tactics, and provide assistance. A voice chat in LoL could replace programs like Discord to communicate with “randoms”.
On the other hand, the “League of Legends” community can quickly turn toxic as well. It can happen that the existing (text) chat in the game is only used to insult one’s allies or enemies. This frustrates and distracts. Those who do not mute or ignore toxic players will quickly find themselves in a bad mood.
This danger still persists and may be exacerbated by a voice chat. Other games like CS:GO rely on voice communication. An important feature is one that allows players to toggle the feature on and off. A funny example can be seen in the following CS:GO video, where the player demonstrates how it sounds when the voice chat is reactivated in an unranked round:

Although the video is just an example and does not represent the entire CS:GO community, “auditory spamming” is not uncommon in games with voice chat. We are eager to hear more from official sources on this topic.
What do you expect from Year 2 of The Division? What new features should it bring? Let us know what’s on your wish list.
In a week from today, on May 23rd, the third ETF will take place. ETF stands for “Elite Task Force” and represents a group of community representatives invited by the developers to discuss the future of The Division with them.
So far, there have been two ETF phases: for the Update 1.4 in the fall of 2016 and for the Update 1.6 at the beginning of 2017. Preparations are now underway for the third ETF, which will focus on Year 2 – specifically the Update 1.7 and 1.8. The ETF workshop will last for four days and will take place at Reflections in Newcastle.
But what will the ETF members discuss with the developers? What do 1.7 and 1.8 bring?
What does Year 2 bring in The Division?
At the end of February, with the Update 1.6 and the “Last Stand” DLC, the final contents of the “Year 1” plan were released. Since then, we have been in Year 2 – which so far has not brought any new content at all.
For over three and a half months, there has been a drought of content in The Division. For the one-year anniversary, there was only a rough overview of what is to come for the agents this year:
The Update 1.6.1: This brings numerous bug fixes and the loadouts. It will be released later in May, probably on May 23rd.
The Update 1.7: This is expected in the summer. It will bring events with modifiers applied to existing activities, and feats, which are awards you can display when you master something special in The Division.
The Update 1.8, about which hardly anything is known so far. It is expected to be released at the end of the year and is supposed to include narrative elements.
What do you wish for from Year 2?
The ETF for 1.7 and 1.8 will take place in May so that the developers have enough time to implement many ideas from the ETF members. This was communicated in a livestream.
So we ask you now: If you were a member of the ETF, what ideas would you propose to Massive?
Keep in mind that all content in Year 2 is free. The possibilities are therefore limited – one should not expect a big raid and many new story missions. But how could we improve the already existing content?

Soon Stormblood, the long-awaited second expansion to Final Fantasy XIV, will be released. To get in the mood, the developers at Square Enix have composed their own theme song and created a long and epic music video.
Only a few weeks left until you can play Stormblood, the second major expansion for Final Fantasy 14 on June 20, 2017. The expansion continues the story of the current expansion Heavensward and takes place in the region of Ala Mhigo, which has been occupied by the dark Garlean Empire.
To prepare for the story and the new region, there is a special theme song for Stormblood from Square Enix.
Final Fantasy 14: Stormblood theme song aims to bridge to Heavensward
For the new theme song, the developers of Final Fantasy 14 invested a lot of work and created an own theme song with lyrics and music video. The melody comes from the renowned composer Nobuo Uematsu, who composed the soundtracks for almost all Final Fantasy titles.
The Stormblood theme is called “Revolutions” and deals with the conflict in Ala Mhigo and the Eastern regions. There, your heroes will soon face off against the dark Legion Commander Zenos yae Galvus and the cruel imperial governor Yotsuyu. We have embedded the elaborately produced video here. Enjoy watching!
What do you think of the theme for Stormblood? Epic and compelling or cheesy? Let us know in the comments!
For the presentation of Destiny 2 in the live stream, Activision is building a village. However, a professional actor will not be contracted.
It has been 3 years since the last Bungie Podcast. There, the heads behind Destiny 2, Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy, talked about the live stream on Thursday at 7 PM. Destiny 2 will be presented there, and gameplay of the shooter will be shown for the first time. The game is set to release on September 8, 2017, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Noseworthy and Smith are quite excited because they and other developers will be presenting the game. Smith has been practicing diligently, recording his voice with his smartphone, and forcing himself to listen to it. Currently, rehearsals for the event are taking place at Bungie.
They are not really comfortable with the idea of standing on stage because it is not their actual job, they say. But it is important.
Destiny 2 Gameplay in the Live Stream: Developers present the game, not a professional actor
Especially a great responsibility rests on them at this moment. After all, they represent the whole team behind Destiny 2 and the company Bungie. They want to say the right thing but also stay true to themselves.
The Bungie employees are not trained media professionals, and they probably also find it okay if that shows.
It would be easy to hire a professional actor like Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead), lower him onto the stage in a cage and let him run the show, say the developers. He would then say marketing things and that would be it.
But they don’t want that. They want to let those speak who actually developed the game. That is authentic and defines Bungie.
Simon Pegg (right) will not be at the event.
The event is officially called “Destiny 2 Gameplay Premiere.” Internally, the name “DRE” has become established: Destiny Reveal Event.
Two Hangars full of Destiny
One is very impressed by the “setup skills” at Activision. The crew is pulling off presentations in hours. It’s insane to watch how the advance team from Activision works.
For the presentation of Destiny 2, Activision has set up a set in two airport hangars, adorned it with artwork: for 24 hours, they built their own “Destiny village.” Noseworthy and Smith definitely want to stroll through this village and take a look at everything when they find the time.
This is how the Live Stream for Destiny 2 will proceed
The live stream will proceed with a “keynote” at the beginning of the presentation. Then, developers will come on stage and present parts of the game. At the end, people will have the opportunity to actually play Destiny 2. After all, numerous streamers and journalists are invited to the event.
The version shown in the live stream has been “finished” for about a week and a half. Therefore, they are not worrying anymore, but the focus is currently on the presentation.
The version shown in the live stream is not the version that the developers are already playing at home but a compilation of “key elements,” as it is said.
More about this version of Destiny 2 that the developers are already playing at home can be found here:
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently played on only one large map. The map looks like a rundown former Eastern Bloc region, but new maps are expected soon: a desert city and a Mediterranean island.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the battle royale shooter by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene, places you as one of 100 players who are dropped over an abandoned island and are pitted against each other until only one (or one team) remains.
So far, only one map with an Eastern Bloc look has been available, but that will soon change as developers at Bluehole have two new maps in the works.

The two new maps offer a completely different terrain compared to the former Soviet aesthetic of the existing map. The first of the new maps visually takes place in a Mediterranean region. There are dense forests in the north and a picturesque coastline in the south. In the middle, there is a snow-capped mountain range. The island features various architectural styles and will measure – like the existing map – 8×8 kilometers.
The second map is inspired by a desert city. It is said to have once been a real eye-catcher, but has since been devastated by wars and partially buried by a sandstorm. The city is bordered by a river in the south and east, and in the northwest, there are hills with shabby slums.
PUBG: Smaller Map as an Alternative
The special thing about the desert city map is that it measures only 4×4 kilometers, making it only a quarter the size of the existing map and the Mediterranean map. With so many houses, fierce close-quarters combat and a true camper orgy should ensue.
Both maps are still under development and may change. A release date has not yet been set.
Who would have thought that the Hearthstone pros wouldn’t want to play in a crowded snack bar? The developers certainly didn’t.
Even though it’s often mocked by many, Hearthstone professionals have to perform at a high level. Only those who are mentally sharp are able to find the right move in any situation and ultimately defeat their opponent. It is not particularly helpful when the environment is loud, stuffy, and flooded with waiters asking every few minutes if one would like a refill.
Do you want chicken wings at your Hearthstone tournament spot?
In America, some of the qualifiers for the Hearthstone Spring Championship are held in locations of the “Buffalo Wild Wings” chain – essentially a fast-food restaurant.
Players complain that it is hardly possible to perform at full capacity in such a location when the noise resembles that of a train station. Playing Hearthstone at a high level requires utmost concentration, and if a single mistake can ruin the chance of reaching the finals, then distracting background noise is a thorn in the side of the players.
Blizzard, on the other hand, argues that through the cooperation with Buffalo Wild Wings, it was possible this time to find venues in regions that were previously not covered.
In general, Blizzard is trying to give Hearthstone a more “tavern-like” touch, which is why there are also many places with “Fireside Gatherings” where players can meet comfortably and play a few rounds of Hearthstone over some drinks and snacks.
What do you think? Much ado about nothing? Should even such small qualifiers be held in a “sterile” environment? Or do professionals just have to get used to the “tavern atmosphere”?
The new quest in WoW “Opportunity Makes Thieves” causes a lot of frustration. Finding the chests turns out to be difficult.
In World of Warcraft the campaign around the Legion Judges continues today (16.05.2017). Khadgar has a new quest for the players at the Broken Shore. In “Opportunity Makes Thieves” (in English: “Relieved of Their Valuables”), he wants the players to explore the Broken Shore and find a total of 10 Hidden Wyrmzungen Chests, which are scattered throughout the area.
The chests are generally quite easy to find, as they are marked on the minimap as soon as you are in the immediate vicinity. However, the chests are accessible to all players. Once another player has opened a chest, there are only a few seconds left to loot it before it disappears.
All spawn points of the chests. Image source: wowhead
By the way, the contents of such a chest are not of great value. Typically, it contains a few order resources, some nether shards, and a very small number of war supplies from the Legion Judges.
Opportunity Makes Thieves takes a lot of time
Collecting the chests is particularly easy early in the morning or deep at night – due to reduced competition during collection. If you can’t play then, you should bring a bit of time and endurance, as depending on your luck in gathering, the mission can easily take a good hour or longer. Alternatively, you should check the spots where no world quests are currently active. Here, the presence of other players is also lower.
You can also earn 1500 reputation points with the Legion Judges and a bit of artifact power.
Cortyn says: I’m really starting to run out of words. Every week you think to yourself “it can’t get any worse” … but the Legion Judges continue to surprise.

The complete patch notes encompass nearly 4000 words – you can find them on the Ubisoft page. We summarize the most important information:
“Soft Feints” will be removed – this refers to an unintended combat feature where guard breaks and attacks could be canceled and converted by quickly changing direction.
There are numerous adjustments to the heroes, with the Raider being particularly overhauled. The Raider is strengthened as all heavy attacks, “Raging Raider” and zone attacks can be canceled and turned into a stunning strike. This aims to make it harder for opponents to anticipate the attacks. Additionally, the various throws will be improved. On top of that, stamina will be increased from 120 to 130.
For the Peacekeeper, the bleeding effect is being revised, causing the first two stabs to deal less damage over time, while the third stab deals double damage. For the Warden, the ability to change targets during the shoulder charge initiation has been reintroduced. For the Kensei, the “No-Look-Kill” execution takes 0.1 seconds longer than before. Otherwise, several bug fixes have been made for heroes.
In Skirmish, the value of the “Rescuer” bonus has been raised from 11 to 15 glory points. Additionally, a glory bonus for the action “Avenger” has been added (15 points).
Elimination: Fallen teammates can only be revived once per round.
Especially interesting: With update 1.07, there is a permanent +25% more XP after each match!
A significant part of the new features in 1.07 involves the gear stats revisions.
Gear Stats Revision and Epic Gear
When you look at your heroes after the update, they will have altered equipment stats. Ubisoft made significant changes here:
The gap between high-level and low-level gear will be reduced by giving standard gear stat bonuses and having stats increase more quickly at lower gear qualities. This will bring you closer to heroes with maximum stats more quickly.
Some stats will be removed, such as cooldown reduction on gifts, damage defense when blocking, throw distance, and sprint speed.
Vengeance Plus from defense and Vengeance Plus from defense will be merged into one stat: Vengeance Plus
A completely new stat is being introduced: “Defense Penetration.” This new value reduces the opponent’s defense value.
Additionally, attack and defense stats will be divided across multiple items: All three armor pieces have the defense value and all three weapon parts have the attack value. Thus, this division occurs:
Furthermore, equipment with a new quality level will be introduced. This is called “Epic.” For each hero, there will be 4 epic weapons and two armor pieces of this quality. Starting from glory level 5, you will get access to the epic stuff. The ranks at which item qualities are available have also been revised. Here you see a graphic on that:
To give you a good start into the second season, you will find four “Close Combat Packs” available when you log into For Honor. Each pack contains a gatherer’s crate and three days of champion status. So in total, there are 4 crates and 12 days of champion status for each player. These packs will only be activated once you log in.
World of Warcraft has burned through all its villains? Not so! We show you who might soon appear as a new enemy.
Over the years, Blizzard has laid many villains in World of Warcraft to rest.
Sure, some of the enemies turned out not to be so dead and not quite as evil as thought (Illidan) and some simply reappear because they are reborn – like all the demons of the Burning Legion.
This article was originally published in May 2017. We have updated it with the latest insights.
But which actual adversaries are there in World of Warcraft that are not definitively eliminated? We list the potential dangers that still lurk in Azeroth, the shattered world, or the known cosmos of Warcraft. On Reddit, the user Lionhearts has made the effort to compile some of these enemies. We have highlighted the most important ones and translated the information about them.
Please note that this list does not claim to be exhaustive. There are certainly many more potential adversaries.
Demon of the Legion
Some demons of the Burning Legion are not as interchangeable as others. Many have a story that goes back far, and many of them were already encountered in Warcraft 3.
Mal’Ganis
Mal’Ganis is a dreadlord and was supposed to watch over the Lich King in the name of the Legion when he was still serving the Legion. He led Arthas to wander to Northrend and thus ensured that Arthas ultimately became the Lich King.
Last seen: Mal’Ganis was summoned by Gul’dan to the Broken Shore (Legion opening event).
Where he might appear: As a dreadlord, he can theoretically be anywhere, as they like to disguise themselves as high-ranking individuals of a people to infiltrate it. He might appear on Argus in patch 7.3.
Varimathras
Varimathras was a dreadlord who worked for the Burning Legion but ultimately betrayed his brothers and served Lady Sylvanas. However, even the Dark Lady was betrayed by him, and he convinced High Apothecary Putress to use the new plague against everyone – against the Horde, Alliance, and Scourge alike.
Last seen: Varimathras was tortured in Antorus for his failure. Like all demons, he should still be capable of being resurrected, as his death occurred before Argus perished.
Where he might appear: Like all dreadlords in a high position among the various peoples.
On the beta servers of Diablo 3, a new Rift Guardian is introduced. His name is Vesalius, he is icy cold and comes without companions.
A new face appears on the battlefields of Diablo 3. Well, at least on the beta servers, as the new boss has been found there now. In the stream by Zhanji, the Rift Guardian Vesalius showcased his abilities.
Diablo 3 Nephalem Portal Boss "Vesalius"
While players on Blizzard’s test servers can try out the Necromancer, further changes in Patch 2.6.0 of Diablo 3 are noticeable. This includes the new Rift Boss Vesalius. At the end of a Rift, where the streamer Zhanji was located, the new boss appeared and immediately showcased his abilities. These include:
Wormhole – You already know it from other enemies in Diablo 3
Icy Spheres – Similar to the other spheres in the game
Bullet Salvos – A handful of projectiles fired at you
Presumably, Vesalius can dive into the ground and create four copies of himself. This, however, has not been confirmed yet.
In general, Vesalius moves very quickly. This makes it difficult to escape him without “Teleport” or similar abilities. During the boss fight, no companions were summoned. In the following video, you can see the fight against the new Rift boss.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm7owIyuhkk
According to Troupster, Vesalius could be a copy of an already existing opponent. Vidian can be found on the second level in the Temple of the Firstborn (Act 2). However, he summons adds, which we have so far avoided with Vesalius. A visual similarity can be recognized in the following screenshot.
In Destiny today, May 16th, a new week begins. The Weekly Reset is on the agenda. New activities are coming, such as the Nightfall Strike and the Featured Raid.
Hold onto something! This week the MMO shooter Destiny picks up speed – or rather its sequel Destiny 2. This Thursday at 7 PM the highly anticipated gameplay reveal will take place, and in the days afterwards, more footage expected from invited Guardians, and just yesterday Bungie released teasers in the form of a short video and a podcast.
Now let’s look at Destiny 1. Today is Weekly Reset. The Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris are coming to an end. New activities are on the way.
Nightfall Strike on May 16th on PS4 and Xbox One
This week the Nightfall is Winter Storm.
The modifiers are:
Epic
Specialist: Special weapon damage is increased
Chaff: Radar is disabled
Armored: More enemies have shields
Exposed: Guardian shields are enhanced but regenerate slower
In the heroic SIVA Crisis Strike playlist the modifiers are Heroic, Solar Flare, Specialist, and Fresh Troops.
Challenge of the Elders and Story Playlist
In the weekly Story Playlist the missions are Dark Champions. The modifiers are Heroic, Solar Flare, and Brawler.
In the Challenge of the Elders, there are bonus points for melee kills. Modifiers are Sidearms and Catapult. You will fight against Noru’usk, the Overmind Minotaur and the Rebel Ghost.
Raid Challenges from May 16th.
This week it’s the Wrath of the Machine. How the challenges with Vosik and Aksis go, you can find out in the provided links. Additionally, here is all the information about the raid loot:
Tyra Karn has the artifacts Felwinter’s Lie (35 Intellect, 131 Discipline, 86 Strength), Timur’s Lie (30 Discipline, 30 Strength) and Perun’s Lie (30 Intellect, 35 Strength) available.
Eris Morn and the New Monarchy demand Wormspores.
The Future War Cult is after Ghost Flower.
The Dead Orbit wants Spinmetal.
Lord Shaxx has bounties for Clash and Rift. The Crucible Quartermaster offers Hand Cannon, Scout Rifle, Fusion Rifle, Sniper, and Heavy Weapon. The weekly Crucible playlist is Mayhem: Clash.
Commander Zavala offers you Strike Elite, Dawn and Just Perfect (no fireteam member may die).
Dreadnought is a kind of World of Warships in space. Instead of ocean giants, you control hefty space battleships. So far, there have only been battles against other players, but the PS4 version will receive a new PvE mode.
Dreadnought is a tactical multiplayer shooter in the style of Wargaming’s World of Warships or the steampunk airship spectacle Cloud Pirates from My.com. Instead of discussing your battles in steel warships from World War II or flying sailing ships, you engage in battles in Dreadnought aboard massive spaceships.
https://youtu.be/teH5Oowj-J8
Dreadnought – Tactical Battles in Three Dimensions
You choose one of five spaceship classes and dive into battle against other players or (on PS4) against AI. Available options include:
Dreadnought: Thick tank ships that can take a lot of damage
Destroyer: Well-armed attack ships
TacticalCruiser: Support ships that can heal or boost you
ArtilleryCruiser: Sniper ships that fire from long distance
Corvette: Fast scout ships
Between battles, you earn experience points and resources, which you use to further upgrade your ships, gradually climbing the tiers and purchasing better ships. So it’s very much like in World of Tanks, World of Warships, or Cloud Pirates.
Dreadnought – Horde Mode “Havoc” – PvE Exclusive for PS4
Dreadnought is available for PC (Open Beta) and PS4 (Closed Beta). So far, the PS4 version only had the first two PvP modes of the PC version:
TeamDeathmatch: You fight in a team against an enemy squad, and after your own death, you can respawn.
TeamElimination: You play as a team against an enemy team over three rounds. If you go down, you can only continue as a small space fighter, your large ship is out.
In addition to these PvP modes, the PS4 version will soon get a PvE horde mode called “Havoc”. In this, you will face waves of AI enemies with your team. Each time you clear a wave, you can buy bonuses with the earned XP, then the next wave comes, which is always stronger than the previous one.
PC Version of Dreadnought Will Receive Havoc Later
Additionally, each time you receive a special penalty that applies to the current wave, for example, that your ships have certain weak points. Every few waves, bosses will also appear, which are particularly tough. The goal is to survive as long as possible.
The Havoc mode is currently only available for the PS4 version of Dreadnought, while the PC version features another PvP mode called “Onslaught”. At a later date, the developers plan to align both versions with the same game modes.
The developers of Destiny 2 are already playing the new game at home. Game Director Luke Smith spent 35 to 40 hours in Destiny last week – outside of working hours. However, the version is still a bit rough.
After more than 3 years, there was once again a “Bungie Podcast.” The last Bungie Podcast was in January 2014, before the release of Destiny 1. In the current podcast, the team talked about Destiny 1 and Destiny 2.
Okay, these aren’t the only topics. The podcast starts with a conversation about “peanut butter and jelly” sandwiches (PB&J). Luke Smith seems to be obsessed with this type of sandwich.
Destiny 2 with a Dynamic Duo: Luke Smith & Mark Noseworthy, the Creators Behind “The Taken King”
In the podcast, the “old team” from the expansion is back: Luke Smith as the Creative and Mark Noseworthy as his Producer. They were also the dynamic duo behind “The Taken King.”
They describe their collaboration over the past 3 years like this:
Luke Smith has the ideas
Mark Noseworthy tells him whether it works or if he should stay grounded. He takes care of the “practical things.”
The two constantly talk about Destiny, discussing the direction the game should take – Noseworthy’s wife finds that crazy
Luke Smith Played Destiny 2 at Home for 35-40 Hours Last Week
An interesting piece of information: The team has a version of Destiny 2 that they can play at home. Luke Smith spent 35 to 40 hours in Destiny 2 last week.
This version is not completely finished yet. It is said: The version is “not yet polished,” does not wear evening attire yet, but rather, it is as if it just came from the gym and smells a little. Some icons and item names are still missing. “But the smell of sweat is okay.”
They Have Been Playing Destiny Since Christmas
The team has been playing the version since the Christmas season of 2016. Back then it was significantly more “rough around the edges.” It is said that the fun of Destiny 2 in this version has roughly doubled every 2 weeks recently.
What has changed is how many decisions are made. It is said that at the beginning, it could take weeks to make a single decision. In the current phase, they make 100 decisions daily. And in three weeks it will be 300 a day and in July 1000.
It is all about finding the balance:
Those who are too conservative stay on schedule, but create nothing truly relevant
On the other hand, those who behave like cowboys and take every risk create a lot of work for everyone else and blow every schedule – they build “all the wrong things”
There is no “right or wrong” here, only countless decisions.
Battleships, Births, and the Chili
People compare working on Destiny to a battleship. Once the course is set, it is very difficult to turn the ship around. When at full speed, you can still launch some boats to solve isolated issues.
Luke Smith compares Destiny 2 to a baby and its birth. But he quickly realizes that he has no idea how a birth actually works and stops the comparison. “I don’t have kids,” he apologizes.
In addition to a battleship and a birth, the work process on Destiny 2 is compared to cooking. It’s like having a chili on the stove. All the ingredients are there. Now it’s about seasoning and getting the fine-tuning right.
You taste a bit of the chili and then say, “Hmm, I need a little more of that, which I actually thought I wouldn’t need.”
Destiny 2 at Home on the Couch
Having the game at home further motivates the developers. They play Destiny 2 like crazy on a private test server.
At home, one can clearly see how fantastic what they are currently working on is, and they recognize countless possibilities. They still have some work ahead. But having a version that they can see on the couch at home on the TV feels completely different than playing at their desk at work.
Smith shares that he then goes to a colleague’s desk and says, “Dude, that thing you’re working on. I played that over the weekend. It’s just amazing!” Just recently he had 5 of those moments in one day. Destiny 2 is coming together and it is fantastic.
Mei from Overwatch was not at all cute, but a cold-blooded bounty hunter. More details were answered by Blizzard’s Story Chief.
The information about the story of Overwatch is still sparse, as a large part of the storyline is told in comics or small cinematics that only appear every few months. When Lead Writer Michael Chu took the time to answer all sorts of questions from the community yesterday in the Overwatch subreddit, the interest was consequently high.
Many questions touched on Overwatch only tangentially (“How do I become a story writer for video games?” or “How did you get to Blizzard?”), but there were then some information about the hero shooter.
For example, it was explained in more detail that Mei was originally planned as a bounty hunter. Instead of a researcher wanting to solve problems with climate change, she was a much more reckless hunter of environmental offenders. When organizations and forms threatened or destroyed the environment, she would intervene and eliminate a few problems that would otherwise create larger issues.
The “simple” stories are being worked on
Another point concerns the presentation of the character stories of some heroes. So far, Reaper and Widowmaker have only a rough backstory, many details remain unresolved. This is because the developers initially want a simple story that defines each hero. The exact details are indeed worked out, but so far there has not been the time to tell all the stories. However, one can assume that especially Talon will be given one or another paragraph of lore in the near future.
Reaper is more than just an Edgelord – he is getting more story.

In Destiny 2 there is a hint about SMGs. Will we see this new weapon type at the gameplay premiere?
Just two more days, and finally the big gameplay premiere of Destiny 2 will take place. So far, Guardians have only seen CGI trailers for the upcoming sequel, on Thursday we will be presented with in-game footage for the first time. Guardians from around the world are looking forward to this moment.
Bungie wouldn’t be Bungie if they didn’t announce this gameplay premiere multiple times. In the past weeks, they teased “Only 2 weeks left!” or “Only one week left!”, since last night they have been counting down the days. They released a short clip that is supposed to hype the gameplay reveal:

However, the video shows not only the start time of the premiere (May 18 at 7 PM) but also a Guardian (Warlock) in stylish gear – holding an unknown weapon!
SMGs in Destiny 2?
Many Guardians are sure: This is an SMG – that is, a “submachine gun”. Anyone who is unfamiliar with the term “SMG” but has, for example, watched the shooter The Division: SMGs are submachine guns. Rapid-firing, automatic weapons that are effective at short ranges.
And such a weapon class could be introduced in the MMO shooter Destiny 2. The community has been demanding SMGs for a long time – after all, the weapon selection can never be too large.
However, the SMGs are not confirmed 100% by this teaser video. It could also be a compact automatic rifle, for example. However, looking at this weapon from Destiny 2, which clearly differs from the compact weapon above and is held differently, the SMG as a new weapon class seems almost confirmed:
Moreover, we can assume that Destiny 2 will introduce new weapons and new weapon classes. After all, there should be “tons of new loot”. We are curious to see if we will see SMGs in action at the gameplay premiere.
Those who like artworks and comics and are also a fan of Overwatch should hold on to their wallets. Because it could get expensive.
The comics of Overwatch are basically free. Anyone who wants can view the backstory of the heroes and villains from Blizzard’s shooter universe online. However, those who prefer to have “something in hand” and enjoy comics in a more traditional manner may soon strike on Amazon. There you can find the “Overwatch Anthology” with the first 12 comics as a hardcover for $20 starting October 10 – at least in the American market. The comics tell the backstories of many characters and reveal, for example, how Bastion joined the team, where Tracer got her catchphrase from, and how Reinhardt fought against dragons – or at least a group that calls itself that.
Soon after, on October 24, a comprehensive art book “The Art of Overwatch” will be released, featuring numerous artworks from the game world that have never been shown before. The price here, however, is a hefty $50. Especially loyal fans even opt for the limited collector’s edition with a large slipcase and additional posters for a whopping $100.
German versions of both works are not yet available on Amazon, so it is still uncertain whether localized variants of the two books will be released.

New weapons, bosses, abilities, and enemies: At the end of this month, the Fallen Ghosts DLC for Ghost Recon Wildlands.
In a few days, the new DLC for Ghost Recon Wildlands will be available to you. Players with the Premium Pass can access the DLC starting May 30. For players without a Premium Pass, the expansion will be available from June 6.
After the fall of the Santa Blanca cartel, you as Ghosts have only one mission: You must evacuate the last CIA members. During the mission, the helicopter is shot down and crashes in the middle of a jungle. Now you are pursued by enemies who have better equipment than you. So play tactically and with brains if you want to survive.
Bosses, missions, and challenges in Fallen Ghosts
In the new campaign of Ghost Recon Wildlands: Fallen Ghosts there are 15 new missions where you will get to know the four new bosses. The bosses are found in the three new regions that are playable in the DLC. As in the main game, you have the freedom to choose the order in which you play the missions. They work in co-op and with AI allies.
During the missions, you must eliminate enemies or protect civilians – familiar targets. New side missions additionally reward you with exclusive prizes.
More bonus for higher difficulty: If you like challenges, you can look forward to the changes in difficulty levels. The two difficulty levels “Advanced” and “Expert” have been adjusted to provide better rewards for players. They have also been made more difficult and are now supposed to be more challenging. Officially, it says: Players turning off their interface will now experience a super hardcore tactical experience that pushes Ghosts to their limits.
New enemies: Los Extranjeros
On your adventures in the Fallen Ghosts DLC, you will be pursued by the Los Extranjeros, who possess the latest combat technology. This will put you at a disadvantage in the fight against them.
You will have to deal with these four new enemy types:
Armored enemies with bulletproof vests that are hard to kill in close combat
Elite snipers who have a large field of view and are unbeatable when aiming
The Jammer, equipped with a jamming antenna that disables your electronic aids
And finally, the Covert Ops, who are very well camouflaged and equipped with deadly crossbow weapons.
New weapons and abilities in Fallen Ghosts
The new DLC includes 25 weapons, of which six are exclusive. The weapons include sniper rifles, assault rifles, and even a crossbow that can be equipped with explosive arrows.
New skills:
In the expansion, you start with a new Level 30 character who has all the abilities of the main game activated. To defeat the new deadly enemies, you have new abilities to choose from. The level cap will be increased to Level 35. The following skills are available to you, for example:
Drone improvement:
Flash drone – Your drone is transformed into a mobile flash grenade that triggers multiple flash explosions.
Attack drone – You can equip this drone with a small-caliber weapon to control a flying deadly weapon.
Drone revenge – Equip your drone with an explosive charge that explodes when enemies shoot at it.
Physical enhancement:
Oxygen – Extends the duration you can swim underwater. This way, you can remain invisible longer and surprise enemies.
Improved marking – Your senses are enhanced, automatically revealing any enemy shooting at you.
Weapon abilities:
Explosive arrows for crossbow – While you are no longer silent with explosive shots, you can quickly take down enemies.
Fast reload: Increases the speed of reloading weapons
According to developers, the Fallen Ghosts DLC is supposed to challenge your combat skills and push you to your limits. The new Los Extranjeros enemies show no mercy!
After the Narco Road DLC, Fallen Ghosts is a welcome tactical change that probably goes more in the direction players wish for from Wildlands. What do you think of the outlook for the new expansion?
