Overwatch for a Weekend Free2Play: When does the free Overwatch start? When does it end?
From May 26th to May 29th, you can download the game for free on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and play it without spending any money during the specified time.

The new legendary items in the upcoming patch 7.2.5 of World of Warcraft (WoW) are impressive. They increase the number of talent points!
Currently, the upcoming patch 7.2.5 is on the official test server of World of Warcraft. It has now received a new update, in which some new items have appeared in the game’s database.
Blizzard is fulfilling its promise and implementing a variety of new legendaries – at least one new for each class. All of these legendary items will be rings that, in addition to their usual high stats, will also bring a very special bonus: a new talent.
More talent points than other players
The ring is suitable for every specialization and grants a different talent depending on the specialization.
In plain terms, this means that players with the corresponding rings from the same talent tree can choose two talents!
An example: The Shadow Priest must choose between “Fateful Turn,” “Fortress of the Spirit,” and “Shadow Word: Void” at level 15. However, if he wears the new ring “Soul of the High Priest,” he automatically receives “Fateful Turn” and can choose one of the remaining talents.
Ultimately, this means that players with their corresponding class ring have an additional talent point, which makes a huge difference considering there are only 7 possible talents.

Marvel Heroes Omega: Open Beta – No more wipes until release
The Open Beta of Marvel Heroes Omega begins on May 23, 2017.

The new update for ARK: Survival Evolved has been postponed on PS4 and Xbox One. Patch 1.20 is full of new content. Among other things, there are new dinos, Tek technologies, and the dormant volcano will become active. The download for PS4 is about 9 gigabytes.

Critical issues on Xbox One – minor glitches on PS4
Microsoft conducted tests on Xbox and found “critical issues” with Ark. Studio Wildcard was subsequently contacted by Microsoft and made aware of the problems. This has been a while ago.
The issues did not appear during the certification process for the new update on Xbox. They also went unnoticed during the developers’ internal tests.
Delaying the update on Xbox One is, according to Studio Wildcard, purely a precautionary measure. The developers do not detail what the issues are. On Xbox, the massive update has the version number v754.
On PlayStation 4the reason for the delay is somewhat simpler. Patch 1.20 had a few minor glitches that need to be addressed. Once certification is complete, the update should be released.

The professional guild Serenity from World of Warcraft is disbanding. The reason for this is a competitor – Method.

In general, mobile champions are harder to learn on console than on PC. Champions like Evie or Drogoz require a bit more skill and precision. Tanks like Torvald are somewhat slower and easier to play and learn, which might make the frontline a bit more popular on PS4 and Xbox One.
Which champions do you particularly like in Paladins on PS4 and Xbox?
Paladins is now available on PS4 and Xbox One. Console players need to get used to it first. We have selected champions for you that will give you an advantage on console.
When I visited the studio Hi-Rez in England, my main focus was to test the console version. That was before the official beta release.
I talked to the team about the differences between the PC and console version of Paladins. The developers themselves felt that the champs play differently depending on the platform. According to their prediction, static tanks would be more popular and stronger on console than on PC.
This is because tanks and healers are not popular on PC; most players choose damage dealers and flankers.
From this difference in champion selection between consoles and PCs, I got the idea to introduce champions that are a bit easier to learn on console but can still have a big impact.
The following list is aimed at players who do not yet have much experience with shooters or controllers.
Paladins: Champions that require little aim
While Paladins is a mix of shooter and MOBA genres, the emphasis is still on “shooter.” Without the necessary accuracy, you won’t get far, even with the best strategy. Generally, Paladins has a fairly generous hitbox. You don’t need to hit the champions precisely – similar to Overwatch.
But even the hitboxes need to be hit in order to deal damage and achieve kills. This is more difficult with a controller than with a mouse and keyboard. The following champions require less “aim” than others. We have one champ for each role.
Flanker: Lex – The Hand of the Law
Lex is a flanker that deals significant damage at short and medium range. He has two abilities that allow him to aim automatically – Hunt and The Law. Hunt is one of his basic abilities and allows Lex to shoot quickly and accurately with his Magnums.
This skill deals less damage than Lex’s auto-attack. However, it is perfect for guaranteeing hits. While you use the guaranteed hits from Hunt to your advantage, you can practice aiming with Lex’s auto-attack at the same time.
“The Law” is Lex’s ultimate ability. Enemies with less than 65% health are executed instantly. If they have over 65% health, the targets take damage and are slowed. This ability also does not require aiming; the ability does this automatically. However, it should be noted that Lex needs a clear line of sight to the targets.
Frontline: Barik – The Master Mechanic
Barik belongs to the “Frontline” class but is not a traditional tank. He protects his allies with large shields and weapon turrets that he spawns. You can set up two small turrets with Barik that automatically attack enemies.
Why aim yourself when machines can do it for you? Barik’s ultimate ability “Lockdown” creates a massive bubble in which a flamethrower spawns.
The flamethrower shoots at all enemies that move into the bubble. The bubble also acts as a shield, and the flamethrower deals area damage. Otherwise, you can set up protective barricades with Barik behind which you and your team can hide.
Support: Ying – The Blossom
Ying is a healer who creates illusions of herself to confuse enemies. The illusions automatically heal nearby allies. You don’t have to activate a healing beam or touch your allies in any way. The illusions do all of this on their own. This way, you quickly become a useful supporter.
But even if you want to support your team with damage, the illusions can help. With the ability “Shatterer” you send Ying’s illusions against your opponents and shatter them. The illusions automatically chase down enemies and deal damage upon explosion. Ying’s ultimate ability heals all allies on the entire map and also requires no aim.
Damage: Bomb King – His Majesty
The Bomb King is a damage dealer who deals significant area damage. The advantage is that his abilities deal damage even if you do not directly hit your opponents. The radius of the impact area counts. The King can throw a total of 6 sticky bombs that stick to enemies and surfaces.
With the ability “Igniter,” these are detonated. High damage can already be dealt if the bombs stick near the opponent instead of directly on them.
The Puff Bomb behaves similarly, giving enemies a pushback but causing no damage. With the ultimate ability, you turn yourself into a bomb and roll into the enemies. Enemies within the explosion radius will be stunned and take significant damage. However, it still holds true that if you hit your opponents precisely, they still suffer the greatest damage.

The Artcraft Studios have great news for fans of the PvP-heavy MMORPG Crowfall.
For cost reasons, the races and classes available for character selection were previously tied to fixed archetypes.
For example, it was not possible to create a ranger minotaur. However, as the financial situation has now improved significantly, the developers have decided to abolish the archetype model and allow players to assemble their characters themselves from the races and classes. Yes, a ranger minotaur is now possible.
Crowfall: No more archetypes, but free class choice!

This week, a new closed beta for LawBreakers starts, introducing a ninja character with a double jump and a new map to the game.
The new closed beta phase of LawBreakers launches this week and will be available over the weekend. To give you content to test, there is the new deadly class “Wraith”, the Reactor map, and the Blitz-Ball game mode.
Additionally, there are a few bug fixes and changes made based on community feedback.
LawBreakers – Second PC Closed Beta starting May 18
The second closed beta of LawBreakers opens its doors for participants on Thursday, May 18, at 6:00 PM. The testing phase will then be active until Monday, May 22, at 6:00 AM. Wraith is a new class in the game, allowing you to jump through the map equipped with powerful weapons and knives as a cyber-ninja.
To assist, there is even a double jump as well as a fun slide character that looks good on the ground. To round out the character, it can also slow down time. As a cyber-ninja, you are fast, deal a lot of damage, but endure very little.
Also included are the new Reactor map and a new game mode called Blitz-Ball. This game mode plays fast and revolves around carrying a ball to a specific target to score points. The team that reaches eight points first wins. The special thing about this ball is that it has its own personality and talks to you.
Existing roles in the game received changes based on fan feedback. As a Vanguard, you can now use the weapon while “afterburns” are deployed. In the first testing phase, the character was too weak. This is expected to change in the second closed beta.
Spectator Mode and Custom Games:
The game should also be entertaining for spectators. In the new spectator mode, you can now watch other players and maybe pick up tricks from them.
If you are not satisfied with the game settings, you can simply create your own game and set some rules yourself.
For Hearthstone , there will soon be 2 new features. Deck lists can be easily copied and quests can be completed against friends.

And quite often, you end up with only 29 out of 30 cards in your own deck, having to go through the entire list again to find the one missing card.
This will soon be over. In Hearthstone, the next patch will introduce a feature that allows all players to create or paste a deck list with just one click.
And here’s how it works: If you have a deck, you can click on the image of the respective hero at the top and select “Copy” (CTRL+C). Then open a text document and paste the text (CTRL+V). You will receive a handy list of all necessary cards. In the second-to-last line, there is a long code. You can send this to friends or “copy it into the game” while building the deck, so that the respective deck is automatically assembled.
If certain cards are missing, they will be displayed greyed out and – as with deck formulas – alternatives will be suggested.
Quests – Soon possible against friends
The second major feature concerns almost all quests in Hearthstone. In the future, these can also be completed in duels against friends! Blizzard tested this for a week last year. The community feedback was so positive that they have now decided to implement it as a permanent feature.

For 4 years, Stefan Jonke has been following Destiny, he is known as “Datto”. In a large video, he looks back at 4 years of Destiny and his own career.
It’s an interesting video because it reflects where Datto’s career stands at each point of Destiny’s history. Before Destiny, Datto only made a few Call of Duty videos and was an insignificant YouTuber, as he says.

2017 the worst Destiny time yet
In 2016 and 2017, Destiny and Datto’s channel fell into several content holes for long stretches. Destiny is now at the fifth or sixth content hole, by his count. Datto tries out other games, but they don’t attract viewers. He then creates “own content”, comes up with challenges for strikes, and scrapes through to Destiny 2.
Once he goes 9 days without a Destiny video, which he cannot reconcile with his self-image. No one should think he has no more ideas.
From January to March 2017, Datto experienced the worst Destiny time since the launch, even now in the first half of May it is still dark. But now with the gameplay reveal, E3, betas, and the launch, things should go upward again. Now important Destiny events would come every month. The time between these phases is just “rough”.
Datto sounds surprisingly disillusioned
Overall, the tone of the video is rather disillusioned. Some experiments went wrong, plans didn’t work out, sometimes he faced an icy headwind. Datto also seems to wonder what kind of stupid topics other Destiny channels are generating clicks with.
Datto had to change and make compromises over time. He has accepted that his opinion as a “Hardcore PvE player” is not the opinion of all his viewers. However, his Destiny life has always been helped by the community, for which he is thankful. He emphasizes this repeatedly.
Bungie has no credit left for Destiny 2
Interestingly, Datto himself does not really know why his channel and Destiny generate so much attention and so much success. He says: According to all rules, neither Destiny nor my channel should exist anymore. But somehow … Destiny and his channel still exist – along with 100 other content creators for Destiny.

Datto has no specific wishes for Destiny 2. It just needs to be good.
My MMO: Many parallels to us
My MMO states: It’s a great video. Although we rarely use Datto as a source for our articles, we have quite a lot in common with him due to our MMO background. In our articles, we have also perceived and accompanied the content “ups and downs” of Destiny just as Datto did.
Even for us, interest in Destiny was at an all-time low in early 2017 and at an all-time high during “King of the Taken”.
The interesting thing is the situation that Datto has tied his professional existence to a game about which he had no idea whether it would succeed. For YouTubers, it is much harder to broaden their scope and become a “multi-game” channel.
In the position of “information channel for only one game”, he and many other YouTubers depend on the fact that this game is developing well. In 2014, it was impossible to foresee that for Destiny. Understandably, Datto has often doubted his decision.
Objectively, it is hard to explain why Destiny still generates so much interest despite a disillusioning release, a weak year 1, and a 2-year content pause. But it is undoubtedly the case.
For the previously troubled company Funcom, the best quarter in the history of the company was recorded thanks to Conan Exiles. Therefore, they want to develop another barbarian game in the Conan universe. Secret World Legends will arrive later on Steam – they are avoiding the significant MMORPG competition in June.
Funcom has often had a tough time in the past. The first quarter of 2016 ended with a loss of 761,000 US Dollars. But now it seems all of this is forgotten, as a wild barbarian from the wasteland has practically single-handedly saved the company.
Conan Exiles brings in big profits for Funcom
Thanks to the survival MMO Conan Exiles, the first quarter of 2017 has reportedly been the most successful quarter in Funcom’s history. Proudly, 6,129,000 US Dollars profit was achieved in Q1 2017. Meanwhile, Conan Exiles is not even finished and is scheduled to be fully released in early 2018.
As barbarians seem to be doing well, Funcom plans to develop another unnamed Conan game at its studio in Oslo. The studio branch in Durham is also expected to start another unspecified project. Additionally, the number of employees is set to rise to up to 130 by the end of the year.
The reason is the many MMO releases in June. This month, the ESO expansion Morrowind and the Stormblood expansion for Final Fantasy 14 are being released.
Furthermore, Funcom wants to take a closer look at the monetization system of Secret World Legends in the months after the release. It is quite possible that some things will change there.
Also interesting: The veteran Funcom MMOs Anarchy Online and Age of Conan were hardly mentioned, but in a section of the quarterly report, it was stated that both games would continue to be maintained as they are an important source of revenue.

The fans’ wishes have been heard: In Pokémon GO there are now more PokéStops and gyms in rural areas.
For players in many different countries, there have been more PokéStops and gyms in Pokémon GO for a few hours now. In Germany, there have also been changes to the distribution of stops and gyms, which can now be found more frequently in rural areas.
Trainers have long complained that Pokémon GO is not as easy to play in villages as it is in the city. With additional stops and gyms, these problems should have been significantly reduced. For many players, the catch bonus and PokéStop bonus are no longer an issue.
More PokéStops in villages / rural areas
Apparently, the changes were activated during the course of Tuesday, May 16. For a few hours now, trainers have been reporting that new stops and gyms have suddenly appeared in their surroundings. On Reddit, trainer ChooglinAlex from Germany writes that there used to be three gyms and seven stops in his small town. Now six new stops and one additional gym have appeared, which can be found all over the town. Three of the new stops have appeared at historical buildings, such as an old mill.
Another Reddit user from Germany, Murmelicious, writes that there are now at least two new gyms and two to three new PokéStops in his vicinity.
Help through Ingress
In rural areas, it has previously been difficult to receive daily catch and PokéStop bonuses. The reason for this was too few stops in these areas. Gyms were also rarely found in the countryside.
Through an initiative in Niantic’s Ingress app, players could confirm new portals that can not only be used in Ingress but also in Pokémon GO. This means that players are now eligible to confirm the portals, taking a lot of work off Niantic’s hands. However, to ensure that not everything is filled with stops and gyms because every trainer creates an Ingress account, only high-ranking players are eligible for confirmation.
Whether you are affected by the new stops or gyms also depends on whether Ingress players in your area are active and have submitted new portals for revision.
If you have been on pause with Pokémon GO because there were too few stops and gyms in your area, you should take the app outside soon. There may now be more opportunities to interact with the Pokémon GO world in your area.
The MOBA Heroes of the Storm (HotS) has so far lagged behind compared to other Blizzard games. But since the end of April, far more players are playing the MOBA featuring Blizzard’s heroes and villains. Is it due to the new loot and the Overwatch promo?
Heroes of the Storm was never a flop, but in comparison to other Blizzard games like World of Warcraft or Overwatch it wasn’t a hit either. The competition from established MOBAs like LoL or DotA2 has always been strong.

Heroes of the Storm: Achieving Success with Loot and Genji

Since April, the player numbers for Heroes of the Storm are said to have improved significantly. This is indicated by a survey conducted by the app provider Overwolf. The Overwolf apps recorded the games played by app users and created a ranking list. Accordingly, Heroes of the Storm was in 18th place out of 20 top games in March, but climbed to 12th place in April!
The success of Heroes of the Storm is primarily attributed to Overwatch, according to Newzoo. On one hand, the new and very popular Loot Mechanic “Heroes of the Storm 2.0” came straight from Blizzard’s hero shooter, as did the new hero Genji and the then-announced and now-released heroine D.Va.
Additionally, a large influx of Overwatch players came to HotS starting April 24, due to the promotional event “Nexus Challenge” where exclusive skins for Overwatch can be won in HotS.
Heroes of the Storm – Is the Success Sustainable?
Of course, the data from Overwolf should be viewed with caution and do not claim absoluteness. They merely indicate trends. Furthermore, there are several cases where Overwatch players have been noted for unsportsmanlike behavior in HotS. Many players felt “forced” to play a game they considered inferior to earn exclusive skins in Overwatch.
As a result, players spent rounds in HotS largely AFK or took out their frustration on their teammates, ruining their fun with intentionally poor gameplay. Whether too many players will want to play HotS alongside Overwatch in the long run remains questionable.

What is the TOTW in FIFA 17?
Every Wednesday, EA Sports reveals the Team of the Week in the “Ultimate Team” mode of their annual football simulation. This is also the case in FIFA 17. In the realm of fan art, one often encounters individual works that leave one with their mouth agape. We felt the same when we saw the animated desktop background for the Overwatch hero Ana.
On the YouTube channel Refract Art, the artist showcased in a timelapse video how much work went into the animated piece. The 19 hours of work certainly pay off, as the piece is unmatched in terms of detail, animations, and shading. You can see the entire creation process in this video. For us, it all looks like some kind of witchcraft that normal mortals probably can’t handle quickly. In any case, impressive work that is definitely worth taking a look at.
In Destiny today, on May 17th, there will be several hours of server maintenance. The servers are down on PS4 and Xbox One.
This evening, the server maintenance will take place, which Bungie announced weeks ago. It was initially supposed to be conducted at the beginning of May, but the developers had to postpone it at short notice. Last week, they wanted to avoid disrupting the Iron Banner in May , which is why they waited another week. Today is finally the day.
On May 17th at 7 PM our time, the servers will be shut down on all consoles. The estimated downtime is four hours, so you can log in again from 11 PM.
For many Guardians, the Destiny evening is thus canceled. However, keep in mind that these are only rough time estimates from Bungie. The servers might come back up earlier.
What changes during today’s maintenance?
During this downtime, Bungie is only tinkering with the servers in the background. There are no new additions to the game content or gameplay.
Today, Wednesday, the Companion App and Bungie.net will also be undergoing maintenance. There will be a fix for an issue with the Iron Banner statistics.

Tomorrow, Thursday will be the most exciting day in the history of Destiny for a long time.
