In The Division, maintenance work will be carried out today, on September 22nd. The servers will go offline. Additionally, the PTS for Update 1.8 has started.
As Massive has just announced, “emergency maintenance work” will occur today for The Division. This means the servers are down for the third time this week. On Tuesday, Update 1.16 was released, regular maintenance was conducted on Thursday, and today there is an emergency maintenance.
The work will begin at 4 PM our time. The servers will go offline. The estimated downtime is one hour, so you can play again around 5 PM.
Massive is quite vague regarding the “emergency.” They state: Some bugs will be fixed that caused multiple issues with loadouts.
After the maintenance, these issues should be resolved.
PTS for 1.8 are live – What are the patch notes?
Some new features of Update 1.8 can now be tested on the PTS, the public test servers. As Massive announces, they have been live since 3 PM.
However, currently only PC agents can access the PTS. Console players on PS4 and Xbox One need to wait a few more days. Massive is aiming for September 26th as the launch date for the console PTS, but this date is likely to be postponed. They will inform us in time.
As of now, while this article is being written, there are no patch notes online for PTS Phase 1 of Update 1.8. We will embed them here as soon as they are available.
In the PTS, you can visit the West Side Pier (the new PvE area) and Camp Clinton (the new social hub), play the new PvP mode “Skirmish”, test the new Exotics and six new secret Gear Sets, and try out the gear enhancement. However, not all features are live yet. The new Underground is still missing, for example.
Guild Wars 2 gets its second big expansion. But what kind of experience awaits you with Path of Fire? Will it be another annoying grind like in Heart of Thorns, or does the Crystal Desert offer something new and exciting for the fans?
I also didn’t like Heart of Thorns as much as I had hoped. But I have a better feeling about Path of Fire.
Path of Fire – Desert is better than Jungle
Unlike Heart of Thorns, Path of Fire takes you to the Crystal Desert and northern Elona. Elona was the setting of the grand expansion Nightfall for Guild Wars 1. This expansion is still one of my absolute favorite expansions, partly due to the cool story and the fresh setting in the Oriental and African look.
The Crystal Desert is even more historic for Guild Wars veterans. Who doesn’t remember the countless hours in Guild Wars 1, where you trudged through the eternal wasteland full of tough enemies in search of the “Ascension”? It was all laborious and exhausting, but in the end, you were proud to have accomplished it.
Also cool and back again: The Domain of the Undead Despot Palawa Joko, who was somehow a cool guy. So the setting of Path of Fire is full of beautiful memories and feelings that the annoying and convoluted jungle of Heart of Thorns never evoked for me.
Dragons are boring villains
Path of Fire also solves another problem that has been annoying me in Guild Wars 2 for a long time: Dragons are not good main villains! Sure, huge lizards that spit fire or whatever and wipe entire raids away in one hit are cool end bosses. But they are totally uninteresting for a dramatic story. A dragon doesn’t speak, it doesn’t act in a humanly understandable way, it is just boring!
That’s why I celebrated the appearance of the Sylvari rogue Scarlett Briar, who was an extremely cool rogue in the joker format. When she was finally defeated after many story episodes, instead came the utterly boring plant dragon Mordremoth. Sure, the dragon was a cool threat as a primal force, but as a charismatic villain, he was lacking.
Gods are better villains than dragons
At the beginning of Season 3 of the story, it seemed like more dragons were up next: “Okay, Zhaitan and Mordremoth are gone, Jormag, Kralkatorrik, and the new fire creature are still missing! All right, we can handle that! Taimi, get the Dragon Blaster ready!”
But then the big surprise: The new main villain is not the dynamic dragon duo of Jormag and Primordus! Your arch-nemesis is none other than the old war god Balthazar!
Balthazar was my favorite god from GW lore, and I’m really curious what the noisy brat with the horned helmet is really planning. Especially the fact that I now apparently have to protect the dragons from the wrath of the god because otherwise the world would burst is a genius twist. This time I’m really excited to see how it ends. In Heart of Thorns, however, I didn’t really care about the story. It was clear that Mordremoth would die in the end.
Mounts are cool!
Lastly, I’m really looking forward to the new mounts from Path of Fire! The four beasts are all cool, and I will hardly be able to decide between the magnificent dinosaur, the cute bunny, the sleek ray, and the teleporting fox creature.
That the mounts also take on the masteries is another plus point. I prefer upgrading my cool raptor’s jump power rather than learning a skill that allows me to crawl through dirty tunnels in the jungle.
My conclusion – Path of Fire will be better than Heart of Thorns!
Sure, the new mount masteries could turn out to be the same boring grind as in HotS, and the story about Balthazar and the dragons could turn out to be a dud.
Nevertheless, I have a good feeling, and the features of Path of Fire appeal to me overall much more than they did in Heart of Thorns. So I’m looking forward to my new trip to Elona.

The Solstice Event (Equinox) in Pokémon GO starts tonight. You can expect a lot of Stardust and special Pokémon.
The kick-off for the Solstice Event in Pokémon GO is tonight. After players were dissatisfied in recent weeks for various reasons, as they could not participate in the Safari events, there is now again a global event that everyone can participate in.
In the coming days, you can diligently collect Stardust and hatch cool Pokémon like Chansey. Additionally, there is a triple XP bonus, which is especially beneficial for newcomers.
Stardust Event Start and End
Tonight, on September 22 at 10:00 PM German time, the Solstice Event in Pokémon GO begins. Although the term “Solstice” is technically incorrect, as the event is called “Equinox” in English and represents the day-and-night equal. Nonetheless, we refer to the event for clarity as the “Solstice-” or “Stardust-” Event.
The Solstice Event is active for more than a week and will eventually end on Monday, October 2 Tuesday, October 3. During the event, the following bonuses and features will be available to you:
Double Stardust: You will receive double the amount of Stardust as a reward when catching Pokémon and hatching eggs.
Special 2km Eggs: From PokéStops, you will receive special 2km eggs from which Chansey, Meryl, Larvitar, and other specimens can hatch.
Shop Packages: In the in-game shop of Pokémon GO, there will be special packages for you. These include items like lucky eggs, lures, and the new Super Incubators. This new type of incubator hatches eggs at 1.5 times the speed.
Super Incubator: According to new findings from data miners, the Super Incubator is said to have three charges. When this item was first found in the code weeks ago, it was assumed that it only had one charge. If these new findings hold and Niantic does not change anything, we would have a strong item for the event. Hopefully, the in-game price will match as well.
Triple XP for new Pokémon
An interesting bonus is the triple XP, which is credited only when a player registers a new Pokémon in the Pokédex. For players who want to start with Pokémon GO now, this is a great motivation.
Anyone who wants to recruit friends has good arguments for it with the event.
The “Pack Opening” is simply part of the Ultimate Team mode in FIFA. It’s fun to open sets; it brings excitement: “Maybe this set finally contains Messi!” However, one should not overdo it and should handle real-money spending wisely. In extreme cases, it can happen that one wastes thousands of dollars with Dad’s credit card.
Many players wonder: Which sets are the best? Which packs give you the most for your coins? Where is it worth spending savings in FUT 18?
These are the best packs in FUT 18
There is no universal answer to these questions: For example, if you want to build a bronze team, you should open bronze sets. If you want consumables, you shouldn’t buy a pure player set.
Most FUT fans want one thing above all: The best gold players that are the most valuable.Preferably special cards, such as the TOTW cards. For that, the sets must include “Rare Players”. With a good portion of luck, there might be a Cristiano Ronaldo or a Messi. However, most players are deprived of this luck – it would be good to be satisfied with a Hazard or Aguero.
To find the “best” sets, our advice is: Buy the available sets that have the lowest price per rare card. Sets with guaranteed Rare Players are especially recommended, with the best ones available through FUT Champions.
The three best sets in FUT 18:
Ultimate Champions Pack: 44 TOTW players – This is the most sought-after set in FUT 18. However, this set is only available as a monthly reward for those players who finish in the top 100. If you are not among the best FUT players, you can only watch how these sets are opened on YouTube.
Premium Champions Pack: 11 TOTW players – This set is also only accessible to the top “FUT Champions” players.
Gold Champions Pack: 3 TOTW players – You also need to be a top FIFA player for this.
The best packs you can buy with coins
In the following sets, you can potentially get the most for your coins (or FIFA Points). The calculations come from the site fifauteam and are based on hundreds of pack openings. They calculated how many coins a Rare Gold Player typically costs through the respective set:

To bring more variety to the battle royale shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, a new map will be available soon. It features tall buildings and lots of sand. The new map will also include three new vehicles, as revealed by the head in a Q&A.
VW Bus for PUBG
In his AMA on Reddit, PUBG head Brendan Greene spoke about graphics, sound, and his desire for a single-player campaign. But the questioners managed to extract further news planned for the shooter.
Regarding the new desert PUBG map the head explained that new vehicles are already in the works for it. In total, the team is working on three additional vehicles. He did not want to reveal more details in the Reddit Q&A. However, there is now the first teaser on Twitter:
The strong resemblance to the popular VW Bus screams cult. How many players will fit in the van? Sounds like a good opportunity to hide in the back seat and wait for an unsuspecting driver. Then something will come from behind!
The status of the “hippie bus”, which stands for “peace and love”, will probably not be reached by the VW Bus in PUBG. But the vehicle does appear in similar forms in other games like GTA 5 Online. Even there, the car is not necessarily seen as a symbol of peace.

There is still no information on the other two planned vehicles for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. What vehicles would you wish for the new map?
More and more major publishers are shifting to “games as a service” titles like Destiny. Now Square Enix is on board.
In a statement to investors, the president of the Japanese publisher Square Enix, Yousuke Matsuda, reiterated the direction his company will take.
Square Enix will increasingly focus on multiplayer and online experiences. Single-player will become less important.
The days of single-player being the most important are over
The days of single-player games being the focus and multiplayer modes playing second fiddle are over. Multiplayer players have taken the lead. Today, it is standard for games to be designed for long-term play. Streaming is becoming increasingly important as well. Matsuda stated this in a statement to investors.
Experts point to the new multiplayer mode for Final Fantasy XV as an example of Square Enix’s new direction. They also expect a significant online component in the new shooter Left Alive.
With the current statements, the Final Fantasy publisher reaffirms a statement made in May. At that time, they had already announced that they would increasingly focus on the “games as a service” model in the future.
Games as a service – the pseudo-MMOs of modern times
Thus, Square Enix is following a trend that has been observable for years. The trend towards “games as a service.”
While single-player games dominated earlier, which received DLCs or expansions but were primarily relevant at their release, today the distribution model has become popular, which MMOs, MMORPGs, and MOBAs have relied on for more than 20 years.
Games are released, maintained with expansions and updates, and funded through microtransactions or other methods. The launch itself is no longer the deciding factor, but the lifespan of these titles is significantly longer.
The games then receive expansions and new content and remain relevant for years.
These games no longer rely on a strong single-player story, as that comes to an end eventually, but on multiplayer elements, character progression, and attractive gameplay that remains interesting even after several playthroughs.
Long-term motivation is the focus.
No genre – but the distribution model unites the new hot games
Examples of this development include diverse titles such as:
Grand Theft Auto Online
LoL
Overwatch
the FIFA series
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
or Destiny.
These games generate a lot of revenue even years after their release. Apparently, even the last single-player giants in gaming like Square Enix want to shift.
Other publishers like Ubisoft have also signaled clearly that they want to move more towards “games as a service.” It was already a surprise that Assassin’s Creed Origins would not focus as much on online modes as had been thought. However, Skull & Bones fully focuses on multiplayer.
It is assumed that future blockbuster titles like Anthem, Red Dead Redemption 2, or Borderlands 3 will fully embrace online play.
Next week, extensive maintenance is scheduled for Destiny 2 . A new update is coming.
Bungie announced an important date that you should mark in red on your calendar. Because on Monday, right before the end of the workday here, the servers of Destiny 2 will go offline – and will remain so for hours.
These are the important times:
On Monday, September 25, starting at 3 PM, preparations for maintenance will begin. You will not be able to log in.
At 4 PM, all players currently in Destiny 2 will be removed from their activities. The servers will go offline.
The maintenance is planned to end around 9 PM. However, it is common for Bungie that these times are never taken too literally. The servers could come back online hours earlier, or also hours later.
During the maintenance, the Update 1.0.3 will be deployed. What changes it will bring is not known.
Known Issues in Destiny 2
Bungie also lists known issues that have already been investigated or will soon be fixed, perhaps with 1.0.3:
The Trials of the Nine were not deactivated for the Weekly Reset as planned this week. From now on, the Reset should work. The Trials run from Friday 7 PM to Tuesday 11 AM.
The quest step “The Seal of His Majesty” does not increase correctly when players receive the Emperor’s seals.
Clan Engrams are sometimes not distributed even though players have met the requirements. If you change clans mid-week, you will not receive Clan Engrams until the next Weekly Reset.
If a player creates a new character after another character has received a Raid key, this key is incorrectly removed from the character’s inventory. By the way: Raid keys are removed at each weekly reset. So make sure to grab your loot by Monday at the latest!
Additionally, a problem is being investigated where Silver purchases are not correctly credited to the account. Bungie is working with partners to find a solution.
A student has designed her own character for Overwatch . Not only is the community excited, but Blizzard is too.
That Overwatch has one of the largest and most active fan communities is something most people are probably aware of by now. However, it is always astonishing how much love for detail some fans put into their work. This results in not only fan art for comics or YouTube videos, but sometimes also entire concepts for new heroes!
The student, who appears online as RM-Parfait (or “Purrfait” in Overwatch), has designed her own character for Overwatch: Tara. This was a significant part of her master’s thesis, with which she is now (presumably) completing her studies.
There are not only a few drawings of Tara, but also alternative skins, ideas for her home map, and precise specifications for each color used in her design.
Tara would enrich Overwatch as a healer. She could deploy “healing drones” that heal nearby allies as long as they are within a small radius of the drone. Additionally, she can trap enemies in a water bubble for 2 seconds, preventing them from acting and forcing them to wander around with the bubble until the effect wears off.
Even Kaplan praises the “Tara” concept
The community reacted so enthusiastically to Tara that they quickly urged Blizzard to also take a stance on this character. This led to RM-Parfait being personally praised by Jeff Kaplan just a few hours later with a “Wow, that’s fantastic! You are so talented!”
You can find the complete PDF with all drawings, references, and ideas in our sources.
What do you think of this character or the extent of the ideas and drawings? Would you want to play such a character?
Update 1.8 is approaching. According to the developers, it will give players what they have wanted in The Division for a long time.
In March 2017, Ubisoft and Massive presented the key innovations of Year 2 of The Division. It was stated that Update 1.7 would introduce Global Events as an exciting feature, and then a larger Update 1.8 would come that would deliver more game content.
Meanwhile, six good months later, not much has happened in Year 2. So far, only one Global Event has taken place, lasting exactly 7 days. After that, it was over. The next Global Event will not start until October.
The other features that have come so far, like Loadouts and commendations, have mostly been well received, but did not deliver the long-awaited new content.
With 1.8, this should change. In autumn 2017, agents will finally receive fresh game content – and that for free!
Update 1.8 introduces long-awaited game content
Recently, The Division developers spoke in a livestream about the goals they are pursuing with Update 1.8. One developer replied, that the big goal is to finally give players what they have wanted in The Division for a long time.
Basically, agents have been creating lists since the launch of The Division, enumerating the innovations they wish for in the future that would make The Division a better game. Like a map expansion, like PvP without PvE, or ways to upgrade gear.
All these things, and more, will be brought by Update 1.8:
Many users complain that the PvE enemies always stand around listlessly on the streets until you attack them. In the new PvE area, enemies will now spawn unexpectedly and randomly, providing a new player experience each time.
New narrative elements will be introduced. The enemy factions will unite in 1.8. You will experience this “story” through audio logs.
“Skirmish” will be the first pure PvP mode. Only agents will fight against each other. There are no NPCs. The maps are significantly smaller than in “Last Stand”, making the battles more intense.
In addition, there will be a ton of balance adjustments and innovations regarding items and talents.
However, not all wishes will be fulfilled with Update 1.8. There will be no new story missions or a first raid in 2017.
Nevertheless, many agents are currently positively surprised by how much content 1.8 delivers. Our reader maledicus writes that The Division is getting a real boost. He will check back in. Matima finds the innovation that hunters appear in the Underground “really cool”. Also, Lotte writes that she is looking forward to 1.8 more and more. In her opinion, this update is going exactly in the direction that suits her.
Are you also looking forward to Update 1.8?
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
Many gamers think that their account is “cursed” or that the GameMasters hate them. Have you developed any gaming superstitions?
If the right weapon just won’t drop, it can be quite frustrating. If this goes on for several weeks, many players first complain that they just have no luck.
In every friend circle of gamers, there is one who is considered the “lucky one”, one who has a “sunshine account” and constantly gets better stuff than everyone else. And there is always someone who seems cursed and never has any luck.
Bow before the chest, and Gjallarhorn will drop!
In some games, there are even wild theories about how luck might be influenced. Many players think that there are very specific algorithms that might affect the loot.
Such types of “superstitions” exist not only in Destiny but also in MMORPGs like World of Warcraft. Here is a small selection of the most beautiful “conspiracies” that were never true.
Those who kill Kel’Thuzad’s cat (Mr. Bigglesworth) supposedly make all the bosses of the raid Naxxramas more difficult. This belief was fueled because Kel’Thuzad himself screams loudly when you kill the cat at the instance entrance.
If the players are not spaced out when facing Onyxia, she supposedly uses her “Deep Breath” attack more often. After every patch, there was a new theory about what influences this ability.
The first player to enter an instance supposedly decides its ID – which in turn is believed to determine the loot. If a main tank (warrior) enters a raid first, warrior loot is much more likely.
All these rumors ultimately turned out to be (of course) nonsense, but they are still funny and are even firmly part of the games. In WoW, there is an achievement called “They do that more often since the last patch” – in honor of all the theories around Onyxia.
Cortyn says: As often as I’ve visited Kael’thas in WoW to take the ashes of Al’ar from him, I can’t help but believe that my account is cursed. Maybe Kael’thas just never got over the fact that I betrayed him with a blood elf. It seems like the only way is to atone or just keep trying to get that one mount … and with every failed attempt, the belief grows that some GM from Blizzard is dancing around his computer like Rumpelstiltskin because he doesn’t like my face.
But now let’s come to you! Do you also catch yourself sometimes developing a “gaming superstition”? Do you also think that some GameMaster just wants to torture you personally and that’s why this one Legendary won’t drop? Let us know in the comments!
The second addon for Guild Wars 2, Path of Fire, starts this evening. Find out here at what release time it will start exactly and how many of you will buy the expansion according to our recently conducted survey.
Therefore, we started a survey about whether you want to get Path of Fire or not.
Survey – Most of you would buy Path of Fire
A few days ago we launched a survey and wanted to know, “Will you get Path of Fire for Guild Wars 2?” The results were more positive than one might have expected based on the previous mood:
2 percent of all voters have never heard of Path of Fire
5 percent play Guild Wars 2 but have (yet) no interest in the addon
11 percent are still undecided.
12 percent would start playing Guild Wars 2 again thanks to Path of Fire
18 percent disagree and will not start again
A whopping 52 percent, however, are fully convinced! They are already actively playing GW2, getting the addon and looking forward to it!
In total, 64 percent of all participants would definitely get the addon. 852 readers participated in the survey.
So when does the addon actually start today? The official start time of Path of Fire is 6:00 PM our time. Thanks to preload, you can already start the download now.

In Destiny 2, Xur arrives today on September 22nd. Where is Xur and what items does he have for sale? Location and inventory this week.
Last week, Xur was still a big mystery that many Guardians were eagerly waiting for. “What is Xur bringing in Destiny 2? And can he be found at all, if he can appear across all four worlds?”
Well, a week later, we know:
Xur brings 4 items weekly – one exotic weapon and one exotic armor piece for each of the three Guardian classes.
Xur hides well in the worlds (last week he was in a tree!), however, he will be marked on the map. That means as soon as you are at the console, you can find him within seconds.
Since Xur shows up here at 11 AM and many of you want to know what the tentacle-faced vendor brings even from work or during lunch breaks, we will of course continue our weekly Xur articles. Especially since Xur’s inventory is no longer displayed on the official Bungie site.
Let’s welcome Xur together!
All Information about Xur in Destiny 2 on September 22nd on PS4 and Xbox One
The Times – When Does Xur Arrive?
Xur appears today at 11 AM. He will remain until Tuesday, September 26th, at 11 AM. In Destiny 1, he didn’t stay as long with the Guardians. He would disappear by Sunday. During the time from Friday to Tuesday, you can browse his inventory, and if you quietly stand next to him, he will happily chat with you.
Where is Xur? Location today
Xur also has certain locations in Destiny 2 where he likes to stay over the weekend. Xur is this time on Titan in “The Rig”! He is quite well hidden. You need to jump to the lowest level and into a hole in the wall. Nexxoss Gaming will guide you there:

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is no longer just a game. The fan filmmakers from Corridor Digital have created a hilarious fan film. It features everything that constitutes a typical PUBG round.
In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the goal is for single players or teams to kill each other until only one remains, proclaiming “Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!” as they claim victory. The gameplay is inspired by battle royale films such as the famous “Hunger Games” and the namesake work “Battle Royale”.
By now, the circle between game and film has closed again, as the fan filmmakers from Corridor Digital have depicted a typical PUBG round in a funny short film.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as a fan film with all the bells and whistles
The film “The BATTLEGROUNDS” does not take itself too seriously, but perfectly captures the essence of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The game is famous for various outrageous to silly scenarios. From bulletproof pans to sneaky Koreans who infiltrate an enemy team and rowdy streamers who provoke controversies with team kills.
Therefore, the film also contains the full dose of beloved PUBG clichés, including:
Pro gamers with cool leather jackets
Supply crates that become death traps.
Noob teams that are poorly equipped and don’t know what to do
Bulletproof frying pans
A typical PUBG match
The film revolves around the final moments of a typical PUBG match. Besides a pro gamer, two squads are left. A couple of good, fully equipped players and a horde of noobs who only have a pan, a shotgun, and a single assault rifle. As is often the case in squad mode, one of the four beginners doesn’t even get a weapon and can only run around aimlessly.
In this situation, a supply drop is airdropped. In the game, such crates are always filled with cool weapons and items. However, since they can be seen from afar, they become an El Dorado for campers waiting for greedy or desperate players. And exactly such a scenario unfolds in the BATTLEGROUNDS film. And if you’ve always wanted to know what the reward is at the end of a PUBG round, you’ll finally find out here. We’ve embedded the film for you. Enjoy watching!

In Destiny 2, the Faction Rally starts next week, offering unique rewards for the winners!
Two weeks ago, Bungie released a graphic detailing the activities scheduled for September in Destiny 2. It showed that a Faction Rally will start on September 26. However, what exactly this entails was not previously known.
Now there is detailed information from Senior Designer Tim Williams, who talks about the “Faction Rallies,” which are referred to as “Group Battles” in the German blog post.
What are the Group Battles in Destiny 2?
The upcoming Faction Rally is a limited-time event.
Each of the groups in the Tower hosts a rally to gather resources for their cause. They recruit Guardians – that is, you – to collect supplies and destroy enemy resources.
Specifically, this means: You can go to Arach Jalaal (Dead Orbit), Lakshmi-2 (FWC), or Executor Hideo (New Monarchy) in the Tower, pledge your allegiance to one of them, and then complete a variety of activities to fight for their cause. You support the faction by completing Public Events, Strikes, and the Raid, looting Lost Sectors, or proving yourself in the Crucible.
Requirements are: You must be level 20 and have access to the Tower.
What are the rewards of the Faction Rally?
Once you have mastered activities, you will receive Faction Tokens. You can exchange these for reward packages that are rumored to be full of loot.
Bungie shared images of the Faction rewards, showing that the packages may contain faction-specific armor pieces, weapons, and shaders, as well as Legendary Shards and other items.
The items from the Dead Orbit:
The items from the New Monarchy:
The items from the Future War Cult:
But that’s not all: Each faction offers a special weapon that they only sell if the faction emerges as the winner of the rally. In other words, only one of the three special weapons will be available at the end of the rally. The faction wins whose Guardians open the most reward packages.
These are the special weapons:
Dead Orbit – Scout Rifle:
New Monarchy – Hand Cannon:
Future War Cult – Pulse Rifle:
The winning faction offers this special weapon not only to the Guardians who pledged their loyalty, but to all Guardians. However, with the difference:
The Guardians who were members of the winning faction will receive the weapon for 1000 Glimmer.
All others must pay 50,000 Glimmer.

The launch excitement surrounding Destiny 2 is slowly fading. Time to look to the future. The crucial question has been open for two years: What are the contractors that Activision has hired to support Bungie doing?
It is a strange situation. For exactly 2 years now, we have known that Activision has set High Moon Studios to work on Destiny 2 to support Bungie. This was announced back then. But what are they actually doing?
Contractors for Destiny
High Moon Studios has been around since the early 2000s, later acquired by Activision, and has since been a “publisher-owned studio” based in California. The development team can therefore be deployed by Activision as needed. And since 2015, the need has been for Destiny. Because Bungie is unable to maintain a consistent flow of content in Seattle despite all resources and needs support.
Even today, you can read on the High Moon Studios website: “We are teaming up with Bungie to support the growing, award-winning Destiny universe.”
But we have not known for 2 years what specifically is happening there, what they are contributing to Destiny in California.
Instead, we heard more about Vicarious Visions before the launch of Destiny 2, another studio that is handling the PC version of Destiny 2 in partnership with Bungie.
High Moon Studios is Hiring People with Destiny Experience
To what extent content from High Moon Studios is in Destiny 2, we do not know. The studio does almost no public relations. There is no peep about Destiny 2 and the enormous launch success on social media. Bungie claims that success entirely for itself.
However, we know that the “High Moon Studios” are still assigned to Destiny 2 and are expected to deliver substantial content:
The trail leads to Mars – Is the 2nd DLC set there?
In a report from Kotaku in late 2015, it was stated that they had “taken a Mars section along with strikes, raids, and a social space” away from Bungie and handed it over to High Moon Studios. However, the Kotaku report is already two years old.
Back then, it was said that these Mars sections were supposed to be part of the large Comet expansion for Destiny 1, which later became “The Taken King.” However, this plan was scrapped in March 2014.
These game contents on Mars have not yet appeared in Destiny 1 or Destiny 2. However, we know: Nothing is ever discarded in Destiny.
Perhaps High Moon Studios is working on the 2nd DLC for Destiny 2, which will take place on Mars. There is surprisingly a lot to support this.
This concept art has been associated with a Warmind raid.
Is the 2nd DLC of Destiny 2 about Mars and Warmind?
There are some parallels between the 1st DLC and the “Mars game content” that High Moon Studios is likely working on:
Just as in Destiny 1, Mercury and the character Osiris were underutilized, the same applies to Mars and the Warminds.
Just as in the original story plan Osiris played a larger role, the same is true for the Mars Warmind Charlemagne. His role was originally intended to be larger, but he completely disappeared from the final game.
It could also be the case that Charlemagne is crossed or mixed with the role of the Warmind Rasputin. Bungie has always liked to do that (also with the Exo Stranger or Mara Sov’s brother). Rasputin was also meant to play a much bigger role in Destiny originally.
Therefore, there is a lot of evidence that High Moon Studios has been working on this forgotten part of Destiny since 2015 and is reworking it into a DLC for Destiny 2.
This would also correspond to the logo of the Season Pass: Experts saw a hint of a “Warmind” DLC in the 2nd image.
In any case, two interesting questions about the future of Destiny 2 hang in the air:
Can Activision maintain the content flow this time and provide Destiny 2 with substantial game content?
And will there be a noticeable difference in quality if game content is no longer primarily developed by Bungie, but by other studios?
Well, it looks like we’ve just figured out what’s in the second DLC of Destiny 2. But that’s still music of the future. More about the current Destiny 2 can be read here:
The action game Crossout (PS4, PC, and Xbox One) is getting a new faction that supplies you with weapons and parts. The crazy scientists from the “Dawn Children” offer you lasers, floating hovercrafts, and Tesla cannons with which you dominate the battlefield.
In Crossout, you race through the devastated wasteland in post-apocalyptic junk cars, destroying each other in battles reminiscent of World of Tanks. The “destroying” part is to be taken literally, as you can blow apart any vehicle piece by piece thanks to the complex damage model.
After the scrap frenzy, you head to your trusted scrap dealer and buy even more crazy weapons and upgrades. With the upcoming update “Dawn Children”, there will be a faction of insane scientists that sell you high-tech stuff, in addition to the usual scrap dealers.
Dawn Children – Get Tesla Coils, Melee Lasers & Hovercrafts
The crazy and extremely rude scientists from the “Dawn Children” have not lost their research drive despite the apocalypse and have cheerfully developed more technologies with which the few survivors can eliminate each other even more effectively. What else should researchers do with their time after a global catastrophe?
Therefore, you now have the Dawn Children as a new faction that will sell you the following technologies:
Anti-grav engines, with which you float above the ground and zoom around at lightning speed. However, keep in mind that as a hoverer, you are particularly susceptible to recoil and damaged engines can quickly throw you off course.
Coil melee lasers, which barely overheat and are ideal for close combat!
The plasma weapon “Quasar”, which fires extremely hot plasma. The stuff explodes on impact and incinerates several enemies at once.
If you prefer to roast opponents one by one, get the Tesla Coil “Spark” and shoot chain lightning with it.
As an alternative to anti-grav engines, the crazy researchers offer you all-metal tires that have particularly good grip in the wasteland.
New Locations and a PvE Raid in the Update
In addition to the Dawn Children faction, the new update for Crossout offers the following goodies:
PvE Raid “Chase”: Here you are to capture a cargo that is escorted by two powerful combat vehicles. You can only take down the heavy ones as a team. Also, watch out for the many smaller raiders that can also be dangerous in large numbers.
New location “Cursed Mines”: A labyrinth of old mine shafts where there are many opportunities for ambushes.
New location “Broken Arrow”: Here you fight for a spaceport located in a valley. Ideal for snipers!
Crossout enjoys continuing popularity on Steam. On average, nearly 5,000 players are currently enjoying the vehicle mayhem. The community is also looking forward to the Dawn Children update. It’s the perfect time to start playing the game yourself.

With the next raid in World of Warcraft, things look grim for Illidan. What he has to say as a farewell, we reveal here.
The data miners have done a great job in World of Warcraft again, thoroughly examining the small mini-patch 7.3.2. In doing so, there were some drastic revelations about the future of Azeroth.
But there was more to discover, namely the future of Illidan. If you don’t want spoilers, you should close the article now.
Many players complained that Illidan did not interact at all with Tyrande and Malfurion after his awakening in the Night Fortress. Their stories are closely interwoven – after all, Malfurion is Illidan’s brother, and both have courted the same woman, namely Tyrande.
With the release of Antorus, the Burning Throne, the likely last raid of World of Warcraft: Legion, there is now such an interaction. Illidan makes the ultimate sacrifice to trap the dark titan Sargeras, while he himself gets sealed away.
Before he does this, he hands over some crystals to the heroes that contain messages for various people – namely for the player, for Malfurion, and ultimately also for Tyrande.

While he praises the player for being as concerned about Azeroth as Illidan himself, Malfurion and Tyrande receive longer texts. He urges his brother to protect the world and Tyrande, as he can no longer do so himself.
However, the saddest message is to Tyrande. Illidan speaks here once again about his feelings that he has harbored for 10,000 years and how it was the memory of her that kept him sane even in the darkest times.

Cortyn says: Illidan is such a cool and iconic Warcraft character that I find it hard to really let go of him. Especially when he told Tyrande, “Although I often wished that your heart had made a different choice, I know that ultimately… it was the right one,” I had a lump in my throat. Well done, Blizzard. It looks like a worthy farewell.
What do you think of Illidan’s last words to his brother and the love of his life? A worthy farewell or cheesy nonsense that could have been omitted?
With a German localization, the hack and slash MMO “Guardians of Ember” is now launching its final version on Steam. Whether this performs better with fans than the Early Access version will soon be seen.
The Early Access of Guardians of Ember has now ended after nine months. During the early phase of the game, the developers gathered valuable feedback from players. In the final version, you can now expect many new content and a German localization.
During Early Access on Steam “balanced” only
The MMO action RPG “Guardians of Ember” mixes MMO elements with hack and slash. Community reviews during the Early Access were mixed. Perhaps the full release will bring new energy and improve the ratings on Steam, which are currently only “balanced” and 59% positive.
The combat system was often criticized for not doing justice to the “fast” genre.
GoE promotes the final version with a playground for action fans and new content for the already existing community. The nightmare difficulty level for dungeons is new in the game and offers you valuable loot.
Additionally, the experience points distribution while playing in a group has been revised. In line with this, there is a new group search.
In the fight against aggressive monsters and tough raid bosses, upgrading your guild will help you. This gives access to a total of 14 different bonuses that provide advantages when fighting. The bonuses range from additional critical damage to extra regeneration.

The community has been helping the developers improve the game since the Early Access. There are six classes (Dark Knight, Ranger, Engineer, Priest, Arcanist, Knight) that you can play in various acts or dungeons. Additionally, there is the PvE “Horde Mode”, where your group must face multiple waves of enemies.
If you succeed in the Horde Mode, you will earn honor points that you can use for crafting materials to make high-end gear.
The underground in The Division is being revised with Update 1.8. From now on, you will encounter Hunters!
The State of the Game just aired on 21st September, which, as in previous weeks, was packed with information about Update 1.8. This time, the developers talked about the new underground and the PTS, the Public Test Servers.
Everything new in the underground
The underground was introduced as a paid DLC content in summer 2016. Since then, it has not undergone any changes. For months, agents have been requesting the developers to give this mode more attention, to make it exciting and rewarding again.
That’s exactly what is supposed to happen with Update 1.8. For 6 months, the developers from Ubisoft Leamington have been working on the new underground. They have read a lot of feedback from the community to give this mode a fresh look.
These are the most important innovations in the underground:
Hunters are coming! These are the powerful enemies you already know from Survival. In the underground, Hunters can appear unexpectedly at any time. They will search for you. They might find you during a run or not – but usually they do. You never know whether and when you will be attacked by Hunters in the underground.
If the Hunters defeat you and you need to respawn, they will not appear in that run again. They can appear only once per run. The rule is: They are always in the majority by +1. If there are two of you, three Hunters will appear. If you start with four in the underground, five Hunters will appear.
In the new underground, there will be checkpoints. If you die, you will not have to start completely from the beginning. That was too frustrating.
Weekly assignments will be introduced for the underground.
The Rave Room is returning and can randomly appear in a run!
The previous directives are being completely removed. Instead, 5 new directives are coming. They should be fun and challenging. Two examples were given:
The UI and the map flicker; they are displayed incorrectly and can only be recognized occasionally. In return, the skills have shorter cooldowns and can be used more frequently.
You receive continuous shock ammunition, which allows you to stun enemies. However, you must not fire too long in a row, as each shot fills a bar, and when this bar is full, you will be shocked yourself. If you do not shoot, the bar will deplete:
The blue bar is the “shock bar”. This should not fill completely.
PTS on PC starts tomorrow, console PTS is likely postponed
Update 1.8 is now picking up speed. Already tomorrow, on 22nd September, PC agents will be able to access the PTS for 1.8, the public test servers.
They are trying to make the PTS available for consoles PS4 and Xbox One on 26th September as well, but this date is likely to be postponed. Massive will announce soon whether they can meet the date.
While all PC agents can participate in the PTS, the console PTS is again limited. This was already the case with Update 1.7. You need a key. Those who had a key for 1.7 may participate in 1.8 again. Massive will distribute more in the near future.
At the start of the PTS, the new underground will not be active yet. However, you can visit the West Side Pier (the new PvE area) and Camp Clinton (the new social hub), play the new PvP mode “Conflict”, test the fresh Exotics and six new secret gear sets, and try out the gear enhancement.
They have so much to test for 1.8 that they will unlock the individual activities on the PTS one by one.
You will find various weapon balance adjustments on the PTS as well as innovations in talents and gear sets. The “Hunter’s Faith” set is said to have been completely overhauled.
