In Destiny 2 the Haunted Earth is offered by the Dead Orbit. Is it worth the 50,000 Glimmer that is being asked?
The Dead Orbit is the winner of the first Faction Rally in Destiny 2. To celebrate, Arach Jalaal is now selling a Legendary Scout Rifle called “Haunted Earth.”
All Guardians who belong to the winning faction receive the Scout Rifle for 1,000 Glimmer. All others must pay a proud 50,000 Glimmer if they want the Haunted Earth.
You have until the next weekly reset on 10/10 to strike – after that, the Dead Orbit will not distribute this weapon (for now?).
But is it really worth spending 50,000 Glimmer?

High-Caliber Rounds: Shots push targets back further, increased range
In terms of design, the Haunted Earth is almost identical to the “Duty Call” Scout Rifle, which is available from Devrim Kay in reward packages except for its coloring:
Compared to the Duty Call, the Haunted Earth has a slower fire rate and therefore increased stopping power. However, the magazine size, stability, and handling are better with the Duty Call.
The “Prepared for Everything” perk provides a tangible bonus: You reload almost twice as fast when crouched compared to when you are standing. However, this perk is impractical in many situations as you hardly have the time to crouch to reload in the heat of battle.
The “Triple” perk from the Duty Call is more useful, as it refills a shot in the magazine with quick precision hits. Especially in boss fights, it is a top perk. So, better pack the Duty Call than the Haunted Earth in the kinetic slot.
The legendary Scout Rifle Midnight Without Name
You can acquire the Scout Rifle “Midnight Without Name” from Zavala, which is currently one of the strongest legendary scout rifles. This one features the Explosive Rounds perk, causing the projectiles to explode upon impact. This is also more useful than the abilities of the Haunted Earth.
Overall, the Haunted Earth is an at best average Scout Rifle that cannot compare to alternatives like Midnight Without Name or Duty Call.
So is it worth spending 50,000 Glimmer? The answer is: No. There are better legendary scout rifles. Only buy it if you want the Haunted Earth for your weapon collection. Otherwise, the 50,000 Glimmer can be spent better elsewhere.
In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the infamous troll streamer DrDisRespect has already caused quite a stir. It seems that the supposedly disrespectful guy is actually a really nice guy, who is brought to tears by fan praise.
Several months ago, there was a serious scandal in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The infamous streamer and professional troll DrDisRespect – a character with a porn mustache and mullet – provoked a ban from PUBG chief Brendan Greene with a live streamed player kill. This led to more trolling from DrDisRespect, who even playfully threatened Greene with a beating.
However, that DrDisRespect has a soft heart behind his tough and rugged exterior is proven by the following situation.
A tough guy gets soft
In a stream, DrDisRespect was playing with a randomly selected teammate (Random) in PUBG. The teammate asked him if he was the real DrDisRespect. “No, just a big fan,” the Doc replied, not wanting to reveal his identity.
However, DrDisRespect became curious and asked further. The Random revealed that he was a big fan of the Doctor. DrDisRespect really wanted to know and said: “Well, he does annoy me sometimes.”

But the fan remained steadfast and said: “I love him!” This touched the usually rough and rude streamer deeply. He even had to leave his seat briefly to compose himself. When he returned, a few tears had even rolled under his porn glasses! A deeply moving scene that shows that seemingly trollish streamers are also just human.

Those wanting to troll Overwatch fans can do so through leaks. With the leak generator, they probably thought they were being particularly funny.
In the vast depths of the internet, there are plenty of trolls and jokesters who just want to create a little chaos and confusion. It often happens that some people make up “leaks” that they claim have already deciphered the secrets of the next Overwatch patch. Distinguishing such fake leaks from actual leaks isn’t easy, especially if the creator puts in a bit of effort.
But if one is even too lazy to come up with their own leaks, the local troll just waits until a script does the job automatically. That’s exactly what some people have done now. A “leak generator” has been floating around on the platform 4chan for a few days. It is loosely based on the leaks of the past months – both those that have come true and those that were entirely made up.
Random Leaks – from convincing to ridiculous
With just one click, the generator creates a somewhat plausible leak that answers several questions:
Who is the leak creator?
Which new hero is Blizzard working on?
Who is getting a new cinematic?
Which map is coming next?
Got trolled.
Basically, the generator is quite simple and just swaps a few keywords. But the results are likely to make most fans chuckle. Here’s an example that doesn’t quite convince through its sensibility:
“Blizzard has already fired me… so I can reveal this right here.
They are currently working on a control map, and it’s really cool. We don’t have maps in this location yet, so the team decided to set a map in Sweden. On a vertical level, there are a few crazy things, and then there’s this “sticky” wall that heroes can climb, but they fall down if stunned or pushed.
Additionally, the next hero is now entering the animation phase. The next hero is called “Peaceviolet”. She’s a mix of tank and support, with some similarities to Torbjörn. She has this cool ability called Dragonwatch. We believe it’s a really great ability that is quite uncomfortable for heroes with low health. It makes them bad at eliminating weak targets.
Furthermore, there will soon be some animated shorts featuring Roadhog and McCree.”
Especially amusing is that the generator doesn’t take itself too seriously. Some “leaks” simply start with “Hey, I’m Jeff Kaplan from the Overwatch team and this is what we’re working on”. Who wouldn’t find that immediately convincing?
You can find the generator itself in our sources. So if you come across similar phrases in the forums, be a bit skeptical.
What do you think of the leak generator? A fun idea that will surely cause some confusion? Or are all these fake leaks just annoying?
Online shooters like the Battlefield or CoD franchises are very popular, but competition is known to invigorate business – and this is where the announced online game Hell Let Loose comes into play.
Hell Let Loose claims to deliver a shooter experience like you have never seen before. Bold words, but the shown gameplay clips do indeed look promising. Whether it is really something you have “never seen before” is rather questionable.

The online shooter relies on tactics. Basically, it’s all about opening and maintaining supply lines. Without them, nothing works. Without supplies, you have no ammunition for your weapons and no fuel for the vehicles. Therefore, tactics are important on the huge maps where the front lines are constantly shifting.
You need to figure out how and where you can open supply lines. It’s not just about charging forward and taking out enemies, but about ensuring your own team is constantly supplied.
100 players fight per map in villages, forests, or open fields. You will also use vehicles, like tanks, which you must employ tactically to change the course of the war for your team.
As an infantry soldier, you can also intervene. In total, there are supposed to be 13 classes, each with a specific role to fulfill.
The goal was nearly reached at the time this news was written. Hell Let Loose is set to be released next year. A closed alpha is planned for the first quarter of 2018, followed by a closed beta and early access in the second quarter.

Hell Let Loose looks pretty cool. The underlying metagame with the supply lines also sounds interesting. However, how it plays out and whether it all turns into chaos will be seen at least in the alpha. Until then, I will definitely keep an eye on Hell Let Loose.

The closed beta of the online shooter Star Wars: Battlefront 2 started today, October 4th, at 10 AM. But when can you participate in the open beta? When does the open beta start?
Pre-orderers of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 can participate in a closed beta that is currently ongoing. All other interested players will have to wait until October 6th. Because then everyone can experience the online shooter in the open beta.
When does the open beta start?
So when exactly can you start?
The open beta starts here on October 6th at 10 AM. However, you will first need to download the required game data.Because there is no preload.
And how long can you play? The beta ends for everyone – including those playing in the closed beta – on October 9th at 6 PM.
When the beta is over, the developers will review the testers’ feedback and implement it if necessary. By the official launch of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 on November 17th, you should finally expect a smooth gaming experience.
Those participating in the beta will experience the Galactic Assault on the planet Naboo, the Strike mode on Takodana, and the Starfighter Assault above the planet Fondor. So there is quite a bit to try out. Star Wars Battlefront 2: The contents of the beta

We checked out the new expansion of Guild Wars 2, “Path of Fire.” What our author Erzkanzler thinks of the second addon for GW2, you will find out in the test.
Path of Fire and I – we didn’t start on good terms. I’m not a fan of desert scenarios, and after having to endure dreary sand masses in Black Desert Online, I wished for different areas.
All in all, I was skeptical beforehand whether Arenanet is on the right path with the new expansion “Path of Fire.”
However, one must give credit to the developer that Path of Fire fulfills two often-expressed wishes of the active players:
we’re going back to the Crystal Desert
and they introduce mounts in Guild Wars 2 – some had wished for this since the release
With subdued enthusiasm, I started my journey into the new areas to clearly express my opinion to the God of War. After all, I am a fearsome necromantic Asura!
Balthazar had already been introduced to us before Path of Fire in the Living Story as a new villain. However, rather unremarkably, my Asura combat team awaited me after logging into Lion’s Arch. No fireworks, no visible changes, no pop-up new menus or windows, superficially everything remains the same in Guild Wars 2.
But a quick look into the hero panel reveals: There are new elite specializations. Each class has received a new direction with the expansion. This is probably the biggest novelty, aside from the expansion of the areas.
So I could, armed with a torch, now charge into battle as a Plaguebringer, but for now, I’ll stick with my beloved two-handed sword. Because similarly to desert and mounts, the new specializations don’t get me into a frenzy of excitement yet. For now …
The Way to the Desert
With the airship, we proceed to the new areas through a rather subdued cutscene. Even during the approach, I am positively surprised by the new textures. The desert shows itself to be varied right from the start, much more diverse than I had expected.
The implementation of the different areas has been excellently accomplished by Arenanet.
Arriving in the beautifully designed Crystal Oasis, I find all that we are already used to. Many events, small minigames, hero points to conquer, and my first mount. Mounts have really never been something I missed in Guild Wars 2, as there is both a fast travel system and complex and compact maps, which make moving on mounts seem more of an inconvenience.
However, with Path of Fire, Arenanet is taking new paths: the maps feel significantly less cramped. And that does them good. The areas are more expansive, there are noticeably fewer fast travel points, and yet Arenanet skillfully manages to keep the maps from feeling empty or uninspired.
This is partially due to a landscape change even within individual maps.
Give Me a Mount!
After the first few meters on my Raptor, I want to pause briefly to bow to the developers. Great job, I immediately love my Raptor. This powerful creature moves so smoothly, so agilely, and yet it does not feel light but rather strong and powerful, making it a joy to ride.
Throughout the game, my Raptor then learns one or two small improvements through the Mastery system. This is nice, but almost insignificant.
First of all, mastery points are gained – unlike the last expansion Heart of Thorns – almost incidentally, and secondly, the new abilities are often not necessarily game-relevant, but bring joy. The endless mastery grind from HoT is therefore not repeated!
Unfortunately, other mounts seem a bit lackluster in comparison. While the Rabbit is still a helpful alternative, the Skimmer remains rather uninspired, and also the Jackal has, like the Skimmer, almost only significance because Arenanet has integrated the corresponding mechanics into the landscape.
The Griffin as an unannounced mount is, on the other hand, a successful coup. However, I would have wished for this little bird to be a bit more exclusive. Hardly 24 hours after release, Lion’s Arch was a pigeon coop filled with glory-seeking griffon riders.
Ultimately, all mounts are fitting and enrich Guild Wars 2 similarly to how gliding was integrated with HoT.
If they become a bit more customizable in the future, Arenanet could even get me to spend a few euros in the shop. The uniform plumage is, despite the existing color adaptation option, too monotonous for me in the long run.
Just Play Relaxed!
Upon the release of the previous expansion Heart of Thorns, I made it a point not to rush through the new content. Back then, I failed miserably at this endeavor. In Path of Fire, however, I took my time. Good thing! Guild Wars 2 continues to thrive on the charming little things: conversations with NPCs by the roadside and an extraordinarily vibrant world. Whoever simply consumes content blindly here misses one of the game’s greatest strengths.
However, both my Thief and my Necromancer have already explored all five new maps and have seen a large part of the new content. Thanks to a variety of characters, I was also able to check out the new elite specializations. Despite the considerable size of the new areas, Path of Fire offers no real endgame content for veterans. The new bounty hunts and meta-events will surely consume quite some playtime.
Arenanet is thus bringing a solid expansion with Path of Fire and relies on its strengths:
new land masses that invite exploration
events and meta-events that offer relatively high replay value
the superior storytelling of the main story.
Oh God, I have to kill Balthazar?
The new storyline is epic and really captivated me. Although the story sometimes feels a bit contrived, it has even captivated me as a notorious “quest text clicker.” I found myself reading along with the dialogues, feeling the tension, and frequently recalling the story from long ago.
The last time a story captivated me this much, Lion’s Arch was still a collection of wooden huts.
Guild Wars 2 has not changed at its core; it has “only” grown. Those who didn’t like the game before will not love it now either. Because it stays true to itself, remains consistent, and doesn’t reinvent the wheel.
With the gameplay options, such as specializations and mounts, Arenanet creates a successful and logical continuation. Existing content, however, does not become obsolete, as so many other competitors do with their expansions to force players to continue playing.
There are no superior new weapons or armors, and the specializations are not necessarily better than those from Heart of Thorns. Thus, long grinding or first-kill runs, as seen in other MMOs after the release of an expansion, are almost completely absent in Guild Wars 2.
Guild Wars 2 Stays True to Itself
I, as a veteran, like Path of Fire. Many little things that bothered me about Heart of Thorns are not present this time. For instance, hero points from mini-games that I am forced to play or the strained map structure in the Twisted Depths, which tries to impose “vertical gameplay” on me.
An important step, as Arenanet shows that they are willing to learn from past mistakes.
The new specializations are, in the end, a highlight for me. There have always been and will continue to be classes in every MMO that I struggle with, that I just cannot warm up to. Like the Engineer in Guild Wars 2: definitely a great class, but just not my style of play.
The elite specializations, however, change this so drastically that I fundamentally reconsider my attitude towards a class. Thus, I found the melee bruiser from HoT equipped with a hammer much more enjoyable, and with PoF, even the ugly duckling, the Engineer, with its specialization Holosmith has won my heart.
Some classes even manage to shake my army of three necromancers as a main class. The Thief becomes a marksman, can use rifles, and after what feels like an eternity, can now even be played meaningfully again with two pistols. Just good! Since these specializations are all not overpowered, they can also be ignored if they do not appeal to you.
I did not welcome the Plaguebringer with open arms. Sure, I love my necromancers just the way they are, which is why I enjoy playing them so much. And then? Are they really trying to turn my beloved necro into a supporter? Not with Erzkanzler! That won’t work! Or will it?
New specializations, new love? After we got used to each other a little, our dark love flares up again. Because even the Plaguebringer is such a treacherous beast with enormous damage potential that I already dread the next patch notes, fearing that our young love might be torn apart.
But not every story has a happy ending! The Mesmer was never my favorite class in its original form. To be precise, I once referred to him as “Fragrant Toilet Paper from Textured Wallpaper.” And even with the release of HoT, he never managed to win my heart as a Chronomancer. Now, he tries again in PoF as an Illusionist but fails miserably. We won’t become friends this time either. But why should I care?
Testing all the new specializations that intrigue me offers me plenty of opportunities to spend time in Guild Wars 2. This system offers new alternatives for almost all player preferences. And if not? The specializations from the base game or the HoT expansion still have their place.
A look at relevant build sites shows: they are almost all competitive. The new Path of Fire builds do not stand out significantly, except for a few exceptions.
Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire in Review – What Does the Erzkanzler Say?
Starting pessimistically both in the new expansion and in this article, I can now confidently state: Path of Fire is a successful update. It may not seize all opportunities, but it does not commit any serious errors either. It has already given me so many beautiful hours of gameplay that I do not regret a cent of the purchase price. And that is exactly what one can expect from an expansion.
Path of Fire strongly gives the impression of retaining existing customers. In my view, this is almost a groundbreaking idea. Simply because I would have liked to see the marketing team that was told that new players would be nice but not the focus of their efforts.
Gaining really many new customers for a five-year-old MMO is likely to be a mammoth task, requiring substantial resources and always carries the risk of alienating long-standing veterans.
Arenanet, however, focuses on existing players, maintains content, and specifically addresses the wishes of the community. The developer has clearly learned from the HoT times and is proceeding more deliberately and cautiously. As long as it pays off for the developers, I enjoy having a gameplay comfort zone in Guild Wars 2. Everything is familiar, but new content raises no boredom. This raises the question: curse or blessing?
With the current expansion, players receive more Guild Wars 2. Radical changes or major innovations are absent. There is still no relevant item spiral, and the proverbial carrot that motivates many MMO players remains absent with Path of Fire. Thus, Path of Fire is exactly what it promises – an expansion!
Path of Fire – Little Evolution and No Revolution, Yet Good?
And what does the community say? The player base seems to like Arenanet’s new concept. While the community is usually quite critical of the developers, the forums are currently a place for exchange about new content, and even in feedback topics, there is much praise.
Only a few voices express dissatisfaction about the scope and the lack of endgame content. However, these muffled outcries have existed since the release. They are significantly in the minority. Out of curiosity, I asked various guild leaders and players for their opinions: In summary, while there is no enthusiasm, there is a relaxed sense of satisfaction with Path of Fire.
Perhaps a game does not need to redefine itself constantly, grow, and innovatively break everything apart. I, at least, enjoy this continuity, especially because it is so extraordinary. Let’s hope this concept also pays off for Arenanet and that player numbers do not decline. The lack of endgame is the sword of Damocles that Arenanet bravely ignores.
Ultimately, high-end content such as raids has never been the core of Guild Wars 2. With the content introduced now, one is sure to reach a larger percentage of the player base than one could have achieved with extremely challenging content. This might not please everyone, but it is economically sensible and looks good for the game.
How do you experience Path of Fire? Do you miss the endgame or do you enjoy, like I do, that there are now more Guild Wars 2 contents.

Especially the weapons Zen Meteor and The Jade Rabbit, as well as the strike and the PvP maps were sought after by Xbox players. But now hardly anyone is happy about it.
For many guardians, the last content update for Destiny 1, “Age of Triumph”, was seen as the last sensible opportunity to bring this content in order for Xbox guardians to at least have a few months to play with it before the Destiny 2 era begins. However, that never happened.
Finally, the time has come! The PlayStation-exclusive Destiny content is now available on Xbox. But it’s not really causing any cheers…
“Better late than never” probably doesn’t apply here anymore: Just under a month after Destiny 2 was released on PS4 and Xbox One, in Destiny 1 all PlayStation-exclusive content is available for Xbox Guardians.
For over 2 years they had to wait patiently for some of this content, while Bungie for years failed to communicate clearly when the content could be expected on Xbox.
The PlayStation exclusives from Year 1 released on Xbox after a year. It was therefore assumed that the exclusive content from Year 2, which came in the fall of 2015, would also be released after a year. However, these were unexpectedly delayed and have not been released until now – along with other exclusives that had been released in the following months.
Now, several weeks after the launch of Destiny 2, hardly any Xbox Guardian is interested in this content.
What PlayStation-exclusive content was that again?
Interestingly, the news that this content has now come to Xbox did not come directly from Bungie. Bungie has not commented on this at all. The information instead comes from several guardians on reddit, who report that the content is now unlocked.
These are the former PlayStation-exclusive contents that are now available on Xbox:
With The Taken King (Fall 2015) came exclusive armor pieces, the strike “Echo Chamber”, the crucible map “Sector 618” and the scout rifle The Jade Rabbit.
With the April Update (2016) came the sniper rifle Zen Meteor, the Velumbra Sparrow, armor pieces, and an exclusive quest.
With Rise of Iron (Fall 2016) there was an exclusive quest, a PvP map (Icarus), and the ship “Timeless Tereshkova”.
Thargoids – insectoid arch-enemy in the Elite games
The Elite series is over 30 years old. The first game was released in 1984. Further installments came out in 1993 and 1995.
In Elite, the aliens “Thargoids” have long been a hostile insectoid race. Thargoids are believed to thrive on war, seeking not peaceful contact but the annihilation of humanity.
For months it has been announced in Elite: Dangerous that there would be contact between humanity and the Thargoids.
Players found artifacts, then aliens appeared and scanned human ships – ultimately, players could even fight the aliens. The first battles were pretty frustrating, as the alien ships were invincible and took no damage. Shooting conventional weapons at the ships was like punching a rock with bare hands.
Now it’s time to take on the aliens
After an event last week, players have gained access to “Anti-Xeno Missile Systems.” Only with these can they now shoot down the aliens.
However, a discussion has erupted in the game’s forums about whether that should really be done. Should we just shoot the aliens in Elite: Dangerous like aliens in Space Invaders, or is a different approach more appropriate in a space simulation? Is there really no other way?
After all, the ships only fired when we approached them. They are not hostile by nature or seeking conflict themselves.
Leave them alone, feed them, or kill them?
Some believe that the aliens we are experiencing now are peaceful and only fleeing from other, evil aliens – and we should prepare when they arrive.
Others think that a kind of “peace” can be made with the current aliens by bringing them offerings – like human NPCs in escape pods…
Others do not care for such nonsense and say: Aliens are here, and the only possible interaction with them is to eradicate them. Those who refuse to do so do not utilize the content that developer Frontier offers us.
Behind this conflict lies a question that has always concerned science fiction and is a fundamental question: If there really is intelligent life out there – how should we deal with it? Is conflict really unavoidable?
What do you think: Should we shoot the aliens like sprites in Space Invaders, or is there more to it?
Some players wanted to make first contact peacefully:
Those without a fast internet connection might be frustrated with the beta of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 – because there is no preload.
A preload is always a nice thing, especially if you don’t have a fast internet connection. You start the download a few days before the launch of the game or beta, download the files comfortably, and can then start immediately when the servers open. Not so with the beta of Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Large Download, but no Preload
On PC, the download size is 15 GB, on PS4 it is 15.3 GB, and on Xbox One, you will download 13.2 GB. 15 gigabytes is a lot for slow lines. Community Coordinator Kevin Johnson confirmed that there will be no preload for the beta.
The testing phase starts today, on October 4th at 10 AM, for pre-orderers, so without preload. And everyone who wants to participate in the open beta on October 6th cannot download the necessary files beforehand.
This means that all players will have to wait at the start until the files have been downloaded. That brings two problems: Those without a fast internet connection cannot start immediately, but must wait for the slow download. Due to the rush of players on the servers, the download rates may be quite low because everyone is downloading the files at the same time.
Have you been diligently downloading the closed beta or have you already made it into the game? Then share your impressions of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 with us.
Warframe will soon receive the open-world update Plains of Eidolon. And possibly sooner than expected. Additionally, the new Warframe Gara is on the agenda.
In the coop shooter Warframe, you stealth, run, jump, shoot, and slash your way as bizarre space ninjas through dark corridors and always tightly confined outdoor areas. An open world seemed to no longer exist in our solar system of the distant future.
But that should soon change, as the developers at Digital Extremes plan to release the open-world update Plains of Eidolon possibly within the next 10 days!
Plains of Eidolon – Release possibly sooner than expected
Originally, the launch of Plains of Eidolon was already planned for the end of September, but was postponed again indefinitely to optimally prepare the update. In the meantime, Digital Extremes has become somewhat more optimistic and mentions “the next 10 days” as a cautious release timeframe.
However, many fans do not trust this statement, as Digital Extremes has often failed to meet its own release goals, such as with the last major update “The War Within”.
Map of the Plains of Eidolon
As a small teaser, there is already a map of the large open-world area of the Plains of Eidolon. More information is expected to follow as soon as the official page for the update is online.
In the Plains of Eidolon, you will regularly take down monsters during the day and encounter hardcore endgame enemies at night. Additionally, there will be towering giant beasts that you can only defeat with the help of your Operator.
New glass Warframe Gara comes to the shop – Quest delayed
In addition to the Plains of Eidolon, there is the new Warframe Gara. She is supposed to have her own quest line, like all new Warframes since Mirage, through which you can unlock her. However, the quests are delayed due to scheduling issues with one of the actors. Therefore, you can already purchase Gara in the shop and get started with her.
The associated quest will then be patched in as soon as possible. Gara is a female Warframe who attacks her opponents with glass shards. Her name comes from “Garasu”, the Japanese word for glass.
In Destiny 2, Savathûn’s Song is the Nightfall Strike this week. With these tips, you will succeed in the Nightfall.
In the strike “Savathûn’s Song,” you will face the Hive on Titan. You must delve deep into the Arcology and search for a missing fireteam. Along the way, you will interrupt several Hive summoning rituals and ultimately face a large Screecher known as Savathûn’s Song.
Since October 3rd, this strike has been the Nightfall strike in Destiny 2. In a Nightfall strike, the challenge is greater than in a normal strike, but so are the rewards. Powerful gear up to the highest power level awaits as a weekly reward.
Savathûn’s Song – Nightfall Modifiers and Challenges
As in every Nightfall strike, time is also pressing in Savathûn’s Song. This is due to the modifier “Time Loop: Anomalies.” Here are the two modifiers:
Time Loop Anomalies: Destroy anomalies to extend the mission timer. You start with 14 minutes (Normal) or 9 minutes (Prestige)
Momentum: Health and shield regeneration are disabled while standing still. Sprint to charge them faster.
The anomalies appear at specific locations in the strike. They must be shot to grant extra time. Nexxoss Gaming shows them to you in his guide to the Nightfall strike:

Complete the Nightfall with at least 5 minutes remaining.
Complete the Nightfall with less than 3 deaths.
Shoot 15 of its projectiles before defeating Savathûn’s Song.
Tips for the Nightfall Strike
With these tips, you should quickly get through the Nightfall:
Decide in advance who will take care of the anomalies. While this Guardian eliminates the anomalies, the other two Guardians can keep running and already defeat enemies.
As weapons, Nexxoss Gaming recommends a rocket launcher (preferably with cluster bombs, good against Ogres) and a solar energy weapon like the Sunshot (good against Witches). This is also strong as it deals explosive damage.
Take at least one Nightstalker Hunter with Orpheus Rig to chain enemies and generate many orbs.
Remember that you need to run to regenerate your health points. Since this is impractical in many situations, make sure to take a Warlock with Healing Rift.
Hunters can use their invisibility to charge while running.
Notes:
There are one or two bugs in this Nightfall. Sometimes the crystals that need to be destroyed do not spawn correctly. You may need to restart.
A “Nightfall Cheese” has been discovered, with which you can gain a lot of extra time: Anomalies spawn in the Solarium. If you run to the next area and then go back to the Solarium, the anomalies will be back.
For players with many twinks, a dream comes true in WoW. You will soon be able to send Legendaries to alternate characters.
The 7.3.2 patch of World of Warcraft is currently on the public test realm. New builds are being deployed every few days, bringing fresh game files that are shortly thereafter analyzed by data miners.
This time, a real highlight seems to be hidden in the game data. For frequent players with multiple max-level characters, there will likely soon be an easier way to send legendary items to twinks.
There is a new item per class that, when used, crafts a “random legendary item” for the character. These legendary “tokens” are also account-bound. If desired, they can be sent to alternate characters, thus quickly getting at least the first two legendary items.
These “Legendary Badges” were already included in the game data of patch 7.2 but did not make it into the patch back then – they were removed. The fact that they have now been renewed and upgraded to item level 1000 at least gives hope that they will make it into the next update.
Acquisition of the Legendary Tokens still uncertain
However, how exactly the Legendary Tokens will be obtainable is still unknown, but there are several theories. Some players speculate that the tokens can only drop if you already own all other legendary items for a character. All “excess” legendaries would then turn into a token that can be sent to a twink.
Other players assume that the tokens can be purchased from a vendor to ensure that you get something suitable for an alternate character instead of relying on luck.
As soon as there is concrete information about obtaining the twink legendaries, we will inform you.
As Blizzard announced on Twitter, the “Overwatch Halloween Terror 2017” event will take place from October 10 to October 31.
Overwatch Halloween 2017 starts on October 10
There aren’t many details about the changes to the event yet. The short 7-second teaser gives a first glimpse of two new skins, which are likely of legendary quality and can be obtained during the event. One is a “Van Helsing” skin for McCree and the other is a Dracula-inspired skin for Reaper.

As usual, there will be special loot boxes during the Halloween event that can only be purchased or earned during the 3 weeks of the event.
If Blizzard follows the example of the Summer Games, then the skins from last year will be offered at a reduced price for credits, whereas the new skins will have triple the price – that is still significantly better than being completely dependent on luck.
In addition to skins, emotes, and all the other cosmetic frills, the game mode “Junkenstein’s Revenge” will likely return as well. At least the event’s title image suggests that.
In a typical “King of the Hill” defense, players must fight against Junkenstein and his minions as a team of four. That includes a lot of “zombie omnics” and some fallen heroes, such as the evil alchemist Mercy or the horrifying monster Roadhog.
Are you looking forward to Halloween in Overwatch? Which characters would you like to see a new skin for?
In Destiny 2, the Faction Rally has ended. The winning faction is now offering its special weapon for sale. Additionally, the full patch notes for update 1.06 are now known.
Congratulations to Dead Orbit! Arach Jalaal and his faction have won the first team battle in Destiny 2. Bungie just announced this, and when you log in to Destiny 2, you’ll be greeted with a message that Dead Orbit has won.
You can now fly to Arach Jalaal in the Tower and purchase his winning weapon there. If you were a “Dead Orbit” member, it will cost you a mere 1000 Glimmer. If you pledged allegiance to another faction, you will have to fork over 50,000 Glimmer.
Today, on October 3rd, update 1.0.3.1 with version number 1.06 went live. It is approximately 55 MB in size. The full patch notes are now known:
A problem is fixed that caused players to lose access to the veteran teleport effect due to character deletion.
A problem is fixed that caused clan engrams “Trials of the Nine” and raid rewards to contain only 10 Power.
A problem is fixed where “Discard” was shown instead of “Store” on Faction Rally badges.
A problem is fixed where the quest step “The Seal of His Majesty” did not progress correctly. The quest progress is still increased by 1, but only 10 seals are now required for the quest step.
A problem is fixed where some players did not see the raid milestones after the weekly reset (the raid rewards are not affected).
A problem is fixed where players could be continuously eliminated or unable to be revived if the finish and failure occurred simultaneously in an encounter.
Crucible: Invisible barriers and kill volumes have been added to some maps to keep players within the intended play area. The affected maps are Eternity, Altar of Flame, Emperor’s End, Legion’s Folly, Javelin-4, and The Death Cliffs.
Moreover, invisible physics have been added to all stairs in “The Death Cliffs” to ensure grenades bounce correctly.
The spawning system in PvP has been adjusted so that players respawn less frequently in dangerous situations.
Note: If your character data does not load upon login, you should exit Destiny 2 and restart it. Problems are currently occurring frequently.
They play a role not only in the World of Warcraft but in almost every fantasy setting: dragons. They often appear as antagonists, sometimes as pure beasts, and often as puppeteers. Today, we would like to tell you a little more about them.
Dragons are one of the oldest known species on Azeroth. Some of them were created as aspects by the Titans to protect the planet: Alexstrasza, Nozdormu, Malygos, Neltharion, and Ysera. Two of them have succumbed to madness and nearly destroyed Azeroth.
However, other scaled great lizards have made a name for themselves from time to time. I would like to talk about a few that have particularly stuck in my memory. Not a few of them are responsible for the fate of the world (of Warcraft).
Since there are many dragons, and many of them play smaller or larger roles, I will only focus on three in particular that have primarily contributed to the development of Azeroth’s story. In doing so, I will avoid those about whom the game itself reports (like Neltharion, Nefarian, or Chromie) to pay tribute to those who are less well-known.
Warning: The following contains spoilers for some books from the World of Warcraft-, Warcraft-, and War of the Ancients series.
1. The Guardian of the Red Dragonflight: Korialstrasz
The fourth husband of the Aspect of Life, Alexstrasza, is one of the reasons why Azeroth even still exists. Better known by the name Krasus in the form of a High Elf, Korialstrasz fought in the War of the Ancients.
Korialstrasz, in the form of the Elf Krasus, next to his wife Alexstrasza.
Due to a disturbance in time, Korialstrasz’ future self was separated from him, allowing him to exist in two versions at the same time. The future version took the form of the High Elf Krasus, which prevented both versions from being able to change their form.
Together, both versions traveled back in time with the help of Nozdormu to assist Malfurion Stormrage in the fight against the Burning Legion. While the High Elf Krasus coordinated the spells of the elven mages, Korialstrasz aided with a rain of fire from above. Without this dragon, Azeroth would likely have been destroyed thousands of years ago.
Krasus and Alexstrasza in their dragon forms after the battle at Angrathar.
His end came while protecting all dragons. In the Chamber of Aspects, the breeding ground of all dragonflights in the Wyrmrest temple, he discovered that the eggs of all dragons had been switched with those of the chromatic dragonflight.
Chromatic dragons are a species created from the blood of all dragons by Nefarian. They possess the abilities of every flight and were bred for absolute obedience, making them a danger to everyone.
One of the most well-known chromatic dragons was Chromaggus in the Blackwing Lair. His abilities were based on those of all dragonflights.
Krasus used his power to ignite himself and explode the entire chamber in a colossal firestorm. He was therefore called a traitor, as it was believed that he, as an agent of Deathwing, destroyed all the clutches to weaken the flights. His true motives came to light only through a vision of Thrall. His last word was “Beloved” – the thought of Alexstrasza.
2. The Daughter of Deception: Lady Katrana Prestor
A character who, especially for new players, may not be well-known, is the advisor to the young Anduin Wrynn: Lady Katrana Prestor. The lesser noble is actually the daughter of Neltharion: Onyxia.
Onyxia in her form as Lady Katrana Prestor, who held Stormwind in her grip for a while.
Her influence was rather subtle and long-planned – typical for dragons of the black dragonflight. As the daughter of Lord Daval Prestor, the former advisor to King Terenas Menethil II., she came to Stormwind to support King Varian Wrynn.
The effects of her actions are particularly relevant for the Alliance. She was likely the one who refused to pay the Stonemason’s Guild after they rebuilt Stormwind. Under the leadership of Edwin VanCleef, the guild eventually withdrew and became the bandit gang of the Defias, which has since terrorized Stormwind.
Onyxia in her true form. She was slain and decapitated in the lore by Varian Wrynn before being resurrected as a zombie dragon by her brother Nefarian.
Through her cunning, she manipulated the nobles of Stormwind to conspire with the Defias. This led to the kidnapping of King Varian Wrynn. With a dragonfire amulet, she controlled Bolvar Fordragon – which effectively made her the only advisor to Anduin. Since he was not yet old enough for regency, Onyxia was de facto ruling alone.
In this position, she prevented support for Westfall, Sentinel Hill, and Darkshire, which led to the strengthening of the Defias Brotherhood and the Blackrock Clan. They probably cooperated with the black dragonflight, which also benefited from it.

Galakrond is a name that probably few WoW players remember. Much about him is told only in the book “The Fall of the Aspects,” in which Kalecgos relives a memory of Malygos.
The proto-dragon is the first dragon that was ever created. He was larger than all aspects combined and, despite his evil nature, a key figure in history. Kalecgos learns that the monstrosity had such an insatiable hunger that it even devoured its own kind.
The only official image of Galakrond is the cover of the novel “The Fall of the Aspects.” Image source: wow.gamepedia.com
Through this cannibalism, Galakrond so corrupted his essence that he became a kind of unholy abomination. This corruption later became so strong that any dragon he devoured or wounded mutated into an undead monstrosity.
He could only be defeated when all dragonflights united and received help from the Titans themselves. The leaders of the flights, at that time still proto-dragons, all received a gift from the Titans:
Alexstrasza received the gift of life from Eonar, the Life Binder (who will soon become a boss in Antorus)
Ysera, Alexstrasza’s younger sister, received her gift of the dream of creation (also known as the Emerald Dream) from Eonar as well.
Nozdormu received the gift of time from Aman’thul, the Highfather, who is the leader of the Pantheon and brother of Sargeras.
Malygos received the gift of magic from Norgannon, the Dreamweaver.
Neltharion finally received the blessing of earth from Khaz’goroth, the Shaper, whose hammer is one of the Pillars of Creation.
These blessings made the dragons into aspects and gave them the form that we know dragons to have today. It was only through them, along with the help of the guardians, that the flights were able to defeat Galakrond.
Galakrond’s bones in Northrend. Arthas’ Scourge attempted to resurrect the abomination. Size comparison: The “small” creatures around the pit are about four times the size of a dragon mount.
Without the existence and greed of this monstrosity, there would likely never have been the Aspects. However, Deathwing would probably never have come into being either…
But why dragons now? The Legion is the enemy!
The last time WoW was really about dragons seems to have been Cataclysm. In itself, that is true; since Deathwing’s death and the fall of the aspects, dragons have not been in the foreground again.
First dragons, then the Legion, now Garrosh? How does it all connect?
Nevertheless, it is the work of the dragons that the Legion appears in Azeroth right now. To understand this, we need to delve a little deeper into the lore:
The Legion attacks Azeroth because Gul’dan, who should actually be dead, called Sargeras.
Gul’dan is the powerful warlock who was killed on this timeline. However, in Warlords of Draenor, he was still alive.
At the end of WoD, Gul’dan manages to flee through a portal into our timeline to continue his work here.
The alternate timeline from which he originates only came about because Garrosh Hellscream helped the “Iron Horde” to power in an alternate Draenor.
Garrosh ended up there only because he was brought there by the bronze dragon Kairozdormu, a traitor of the flight, through the sands of time during his sentencing for war crimes during Mists of Pandaria.
Everything that is currently happening is happening now only because a dragon of the bronze flight planned it that way.
Wrathion is one of the most enigmatic figures in World of Warcraft. Whether he is good or evil is known to no one.
Moreover, one of the last black dragons, Wrathion, was last seen shortly before Cordana Teufelsang is confronted in Warlords of Draenor during the questline for the legendary ring. He flies around the tower as a small dragon. Whether he has to do with Cordana’s fall, or if he is merely observing, will possibly become clear soon.
The dragons of Azeroth have thus always had a significant influence on all events of history. Some of them didn’t even have to be aspects, and some have fallen into oblivion despite their importance.
Server Maintenance for Destiny 2: Today, on October 3rd, the servers are going offline. The online services are unavailable. How long will the maintenance last?
Update 7:15 PM: Oops, the servers are back online! Have fun! You can read the full patch notes for update 1.06 here.Note: If your character data does not load upon login, you should exit Destiny 2 and restart it. Problems are currently occurring frequently.
Update 6:15 PM: The update 1.0.3.1 is available. It carries version number 1.06 and is 55 MB in size.
Update: Today, many Guardians are complaining about server issues. “Destiny 2 servers are being contacted” is displayed frequently. Baboon, Chicken, and Centipede error codes are appearing. These issues are occurring more frequently on the PS4 after the installation of the PS4 update 5.00.
The maintenance with several hours of server downtime seems to have almost become a weekly ritual: Since the launch of Destiny 2, the servers have gone offline once a week for Bungie to work on the servers and deploy fresh updates.
On one hand, this can be seen as a positive, as annoying issues are being resolved. On the other hand, these downtimes also cause frustration – after all, you can’t play during this time. And due to the time difference, the maintenance occurs at extremely inconvenient times for German Guardians.
Today, on the Day of German Unity, maintenance is doubly frustrating – because finally, one would have time to play all day, but:
At 5 PM our time, preparations for maintenance will begin. You can log in from then on.
At 6 PM the servers go offline. If you are still in the game, you will be roughly removed. So, make sure to finish your activity beforehand.
Bungie expects the servers to be online again by 9 PM.
It is quite possible that the servers will be available again hours earlier or later. We will adjust this article then.
What Changes Today? Update 1.0.3.1
Today, the update 1.0.3.1 will be deployed. A few days ago, Bungie previewed which issues will be fixed with it:
A problem is being fixed that causes players to lose access to the veteran teleport effect due to character deletion.
A problem is being fixed that causes clan engrams to contain “Trials of the Nine” and raid rewards with only 10 power.
A problem is being fixed where the quest step “The Seal of His Majesty” does not progress correctly. The quest progress still increases by 1, but you only need 10 seals for the quest step.
A problem is being fixed where for some players the raid milestones are not displayed after the weekly reset (the raid rewards are not affected).
A problem is being fixed where players are continuously eliminated or cannot be revived when completion and failure happen simultaneously in an encounter.
The future plans for SWTOR have been revealed. The SciFi MMORPG has a lot in store for the coming months.
Currently, the developers of Star Wars: The Old Republic are talking a lot about the future of the game. They have now presented the “roadmap” for the autumn – more precisely defined what is supposed to happen in SWTOR in the coming months.
The biggest step in October and November is the server merger. The currently 17 servers will be reduced to 5 servers. This is intended to significantly reduce waiting times for group activities and increase participation in PvP skirmishes.
On November 28, the major Update 5.6 titled “Betrayal Among the Chiss” will follow. The alliance has been betrayed and the plans of the perpetrator are gradually being revealed. According to promises, this is the “largest content patch in 2017” and has something for all players. There will be a new story chapter, a Flashpoint, the 3rd boss in “Gods from the Machine”, and even a new map for the Galactic Starfighter.
Little is revealed about the time afterward, but there are promises of bringing back even more old companions to the game. Many still miss some beloved companions from the “classic” campaign that vanished with the Eternal Throne.
Galactic Command Revised Again
The Galactic Command will also be significantly revised in the coming months. There will be primarily 4 changes:
Command crates will receive a new slot. This can contain a modification/improvement, a luck die, a KEP buff, or a KEP consumable
There is a legacy benefit that increases the received KEP (Command Experience Points). Each character at Command Rank 300 increases the received KEP by 25%, up to a maximum of 100%
All gameplay areas are supposed to grant more KEP, they will be revised
The disintegration mechanic no longer grants KEP; instead, there will be components for armor and weapons. These are bound to the legacy and can be sent to other characters.
Lastly, there is a small outlook for early 2018; however, the statements here are still quite vague.
Conclusion of the current story chapter
The final bosses of the “Gods from the Machine” operation will appear
The conquest system will be revised
A new system for daily activities with “great rewards”
More multiplayer experiences for PvE and PvP
Many fans hope that there will soon be a truly “large” addon again – but so far, no word on that.
League of Legends (LoL) has always struggled with the reputation of being a game with an extremely toxic community. Over the weekend, even one of Riot’s employees reinforced this image.
Update October 3, 4:20 PM: The LoL designerAaron “Sanjuro” Rutledge seems to no longer work for Riot after he insulted the streamer loltyler1 on Discord. “The streamer would die from a cocaine overdose and testicular cancer anyway.”
The British site PCGamesn reports that a Facebook screenshot surfaced, which could confirm the termination of his collaboration with Riot. Rutledge wrote on his personal Facebook account a status announcing that he no longer works for Riot. Additionally, Rutledge’s LinkedIn profile also states that he ended his employment with Riot in October 2017.
It seems that Riot wants the incident to fade away. Several Reddit and forum postings about the incident have been deleted. The summoner name “RiotSanjuro” has also disappeared from the North American servers. Rutledge has deleted his Twitter and Reddit accounts.
Original report:
Aaron “Sanjuro” Rutledge is the Lead Experience Designer at Riot Games, the company behind LoL. He vented in the Discord channel of the LoL subreddit about the streamer loltyler1.
In the meantime, loltyler1 swears he has turned over a new leaf and has given up his toxic behavior. Riot then restored the streamer’s right to create accounts for League of Legends.
The lead designer Sanjuro, however, still seems to hold a grudge against loltyler1.
On the communication platform Discord, Sanjuro insulted the streamer with harsh words: “It’s okay, he’ll die from a cocaine overdose or testicular cancer from all the steroids anyway … then we’re Gucci.”
Other users reacted to this statement with disapproval and found the behavior of the Riot employee inappropriate. Sanjuro initially felt justified. Loltyler1 had caused him so much trouble in the past that he spent many hours of his workdays occupied only with the streamer. Screenshots of Sanjuro’s statements can be found on Imgur.
Later, he came to the realization. On Reddit, Sanjuro stated that his comments were personal in nature and that he should never have posted them with a Riot tag. Furthermore, he asked the community not to take a live chat out of context.
Ultimately, Sanjuro issued an apology:
“Last night I showed poor judgment and want to sincerely apologize for my comments. They crossed a line and none of you deserve to hear such things, especially not from a Rioter. I will take a break from Reddit, Discord, and game chat to reflect on how I communicate with players.”
Riot expressed their anger over Sanjuro’s behavior on Reddit and also apologized to loltyler1 and the community. Such behavior is not okay, and internal measures would be taken. In the meantime, Sanjuro’s Reddit account has been deleted.
Many online games are now being developed openly. Players can participate in the development early on. We have selected four games for you that are still in development. What is happening there?
Almost no game is released today without a public test. Every developer relies on free testers who can test the video game in advance with access via early access, Kickstarter/funding, or during events.
With the number of games available, it can quickly become overwhelming. That’s why we have created a small overview of games that are currently in intense development.
Legends of Aria – starting beta soon
What is Legends of Aria? Legends of Aria originated from the game Shards Online. It is a sandbox MMORPG where every player can forge their own path. The economy is heavily influenced by players, quests have no predetermined solution, and extremely experienced characters can become immortal gods.
What is the current state of development? Currently, the game offers a large world with two capitals where players can start their adventures. There are also open-world dungeons, five underground dungeons, and much more. The skill-based combat system gives every character access to abilities that allow for countless builds.
What is Camelot Unchained? In Camelot Unchained, fans of player-versus-player combat will get their money’s worth. The fantasy PvP MMO is set in the Arthurian legend and features sieges, massive battles, magic, and crafting. The focus is on group play with friends or large guilds to rebuild the shattered world while competing against rivals.
One of many fan creations featuring C.U.B.E.
What is the current state of development? The game offers at least 21 races and at least 30 different classes for 3 factions, providing a solid foundation for well-organized brawls. The current development aims to deliver a smooth beta experience and is preparing for sieges and team play.
What is the alpha/beta status?Camelot Unchained is currently in a “sprint to beta”, which might even be playable in October. Previous tests have been limited to mass tests with hundreds of bots, so live tests are still pending.

Crowfall is gradually becoming the game it wants to be
What is Crowfall? The MMORPG Crowfall focuses primarily on free character development rather than open game development. 13 starter classes can be expanded into 3 ascension classes each. Even during character creation, advantages and disadvantages are chosen, and later disciplines unlock new skills, giving each character something unique. Through housing with a parcel system and vassalhood, entire kingdoms can be established.
What is the current state of development? Recently, Crowfall announced the latest race, the Stoneborn. Alongside an active combat system, resource harvesting is also active – it behaves like resource collection in survival games. Additionally, a siege system allows factions to claim castles or attack foreign castles.
What is the alpha/beta status? The game is constantly in testing phases. Supporters can still play the current one until the sixth of October! For the future, the first official campaign is planned.

What is Dauntless?Dauntless is a kind of “Monster Hunter MMO” that fans of this series will enjoy. The game promises exciting battles against “Behemoths”, which require learning their attack patterns in a Dark Souls manner to ultimately protect the world from danger. Behemoths drain the aether, essentially the life from the world, which is why they must be brought down.
What is the current state of development? With four weapons available, players in the closed beta can embark on their hunt: axe, sword, gun-hammer, and chain blades. It becomes easier when you gather hunting companions and pursue monsters together. Veterans and danger seekers can, of course, also venture out alone.

A new leak reveals the Overwatch content for Halloween – if the information can be trusted.
Whenever there is a few weeks of calm around Overwatch, there are always “leaks” in the forums and social media promising to provide a glimpse into the future of the hero shooter. Most of these leaks can typically be dismissed as mere fantasies – but a few have at least a theoretical chance to offer a small preview.
According to an alleged leak on 4chan, Halloween in Overwatch in 2017 is said to last from October 10 to October 31. The leak promises the following content:
All “old” Halloween skins at a reduced price (like during the Summer Games)
50 new items, including: A classic “Hunter” skin for McCree, Sombra as a jester, and Ana as a plague doctor
But even beyond Halloween, new things are supposed to come to Overwatch:
A new Cinematic is said to be released soon, which will focus on Symmetra. It will delve into the motives of the mega-corporation Vishkar and how Symmetra leaves the corporation to independently improve the world with her hard light technology.
Lastly, the leak also mentions a new hero. Allegedly, the name of the next hero is “Zeno“, although this could just be the internal name (similar to how Orisa was internally referred to as “Anchora”). This hero is a healer who generates healing in an area. At the same time, enemies in the area are slowed down and receive slightly increased damage, making choke points particularly more dangerous.
Cortyn says: The leak is not particularly convincing. The idea that Ana is supposed to get a “plague doctor” skin seems unlikely, as Reaper already has such a skin. Other points could very well be true, as new items for Halloween are practically guaranteed, and a Cinematic would also make sense – especially since BlizzCon is in November, this seems only logical.
What do you think of this leak? Do the described things sound credible enough to you? Or is it all just nonsense at first glance?
