Due to an error, a special WoW mount was briefly easy to obtain. Blizzard has now fixed this – and the community is angry.
The patch 7.3.2 for World of Warcraft basically brought few new features. The focus was on the missing game files for the upcoming raid Antorus, the Burning Throne. However, there were also some undocumented changes that Blizzard kept quiet about.
One of these changes allowed the raid boss Gul’dan in the Nightwell to drop a special mount: “Living Infernal Core”. This mount was supposed to be available only at normal difficulty and above. After the 7.3.2 update, however, numerous players reported that the infernal beast was also available on the Looking for Raid difficulty (LFR).
A hotfix last night (26.10.2017) has now resolved this error. The “Living Infernal Core” can no longer be obtained from Gul’dan in LFR mode.
The community is disappointed and partly angry about this. Many assumed that this was a planned feature and now envy the players who farmed Gul’dan with many characters within the two days. “Equal rights for all” is being demanded. Either the hotfix should be reverted or the mount should be taken away from LFR players.
Cortyn says: Honestly, I don’t see at all how players could have realized that this was a bug. It could very well have been that Blizzard relaxed the restrictions for the Living Infernal Core afterwards.

The special thing about “The Jade Rabbit” is that the scout rifle once counted among the PlayStation-exclusive content. It was introduced with The Taken King in fall 2015 and was only obtainable on PlayStation for a good two years. What is the Jade Rabbit anyway?
The Jade Rabbit is an exotic scout rifle that deals kinetic damage and has an extremely high range. Impact and aim assist are also high, making it relatively easy to take down an enemy from a distance with the Jade Rabbit. The magazine holds 7 rounds.
The exotic perk is:
Fate of All Fools: Chains body shots to gain bonus damage for the next precision shot, and returns ammunition to the magazine.
The Jade Rabbit itself is also a special weapon: It is the most recognized representative of the extremely rare daito weapons. Daito is a weapon manufacturer that has a flower as a logo, which you can see here on the Jade Rabbit:
Overwatch has recently undergone a significant change in the meta. One of the main reasons: Mercy has been changed and is now much stronger. This did not sit well with many players. Jeff Kaplan and his team are now responding.
Since the last major change in Overwatch, things have been stirring. A new meta is slowly settling in, replacing the old dive meta. Team fights are now significantly different. Even the tier list has undergone major changes.
The reason: the Swiss Angela Ziegler, also known as Mercy. Due to her rework a few weeks ago, she has not only become much more popular but also significantly stronger. Many players are now saying: she is too strong.
This is now confirmed by a blue post from the official Overwatch forums. Lead developer Jeff Kaplan has personally spoken out and addressed the criticisms of the players. His statement:
“We have discussed the current status of Mercy for a long time and listened to the feedback. Overall, we think that playing is significantly better for both Mercy players and non-Mercy players. However, we feel she is a bit too dominant.”
Particularly her resurrection is too strong. At the moment, the team is experimenting with some weakened versions of the ability. It should now feel more like an ability from her repertoire, rather than an ultimate as it used to be.
However, Mercy is not the only problem that Kaplan addresses. The second point on his list is competitive play. It has been heard from the community that ranked games rarely feel fair and balanced – and the higher the rank, the greater the difference.
The planned changes are supposed to address exactly these issues. However, instead of coming in one major update, the improvements are all to be implemented as quickly as possible. The ranking system will not receive an absolute overhaul that could upset players again, but will be adjusted gradually.
The third and final point is the increasing toxicity. Kaplan can and wants to say no more on this topic than that players should continue to have “faith” in the system. It works and should continue to be used. Only through (proper) usage can it be improved.
The colleagues from “My Overwatch” even go so far as to say that an improvement of the ranked system will lead to an improvement in player behavior. They currently see Mercy as well, suggesting that only minor adjustments will be necessary to bring her completely into balance.

The Amazon Game Studios are apparently dissatisfied with Breakaway and want to change its structure. What happens next is uncertain.
Breakaway is a game by the Amazon Game Studios and a mix between Overwatch and Rocket League. There are various melee and ranged fighters with which you battle through an arena. You score points by getting a ball into the opponent’s goal.
This principle was the basis of at least the alpha tests. However, it now looks bleak for Breakaway. As the developers confirm, they will now overhaul the game for the foreseeable future.
Breakaway is being fundamentally redesigned
In September 2016, the hero sports brawler “Breakaway” was announced by the Amazon Game Studios. Since then, there have been a few public test phases that you could participate in to get to know the arena gameplay better.
The last alpha test phase was the weekend of September 28, 2017. Since this final test, there have been no new updates about Breakaway. And that is not a good sign.
Now the Breakaway team confirms important plan changes on the official website.
“Throughout the alpha, we received a lot of feedback from you that we take to heart. To do everything right, we give our team the time it needs to improve the core gameplay of Breakaway. We are not sure how long this will take. But we believe it is the right thing for the game and for you, the community.”
In the sporty 4-versus-4 brawler, heroes attempted to play a kind of handball. During the matches, abilities could be used to gain advantages for yourself and your team. Livestreams on TwitchTV (which belongs to Amazon) were also kept in mind. Features like a “Broadcast Match Builder” were tailored for streamers so they could play with their viewers.
This was Amazon’s attempt to make a strong impression in the gaming world. But now that seems to be history. When, how, and if the game will continue is hard to say at this point. It is possible that the game will be completely shelved or significantly overhauled.
In Destiny 2 we take a closer look at D.A.R.C.I. This is an exotic sniper rifle with an extravagant look. What are the perks, how good is it in PvE and PvP?

The letters D.A.R.C.I. stand for Data Analysis, Reconnaissance and Cooperative Intelligence. In German: Datenanalyse, Aufklärung und Kooperative Intelligenz. The name D.A.R.C.I. doesn’t quite fit in German.
On October 27, Xur introduced this weapon for the first time. Is it worth buying?
Xur: Sometimes the Agent of the Nine has the weapon available. You will need 29 Legendary Shards for that.
Xur sells you the weapon up to a maximum power level of 270.
What can D.A.R.C.I. do in Destiny 2? – The Perks
D.A.R.C.I. is an exotic sniper that deals Arc damage and is equipped in the power slot. The rate of fire is 140 and the impact is 55 – this archetype is identical to the raid sniper “Solemn God”.
The reload speed of D.A.R.C.I. is quite low, but stability, magazine size (7) and aim assist are strong.
These are the special perks:
Personal Assistant: Aims at an opponent to see their health and other important information in the scope.
Target Acquired: When “Personal Assistant” is active, the target acquisition is better and the weapon deals more precision damage.
What exactly do these perks mean?
You see the personal assistant by looking through the scope and aiming at an enemy. Once the perk activates, the enemy will be outlined in red. You need to have the enemy in your sights for about half a second for the red outline to appear – it doesn’t show up immediately.
You then receive this information through the personal assistant:
Bottom right shows the level of the enemy,
Bottom left shows the distance to the enemy in meters,
Top left shows the enemy’s health bar and shield bar in %.
The other perk “Target Acquired” causes you to deal about 6% more damage when shooting at enemies outlined in red. Additionally, the target acquisition, i.e. aim assist, is improved.

The information you receive through the perk “Personal Assistant” is interesting but not very helpful in combat. If you want to experiment with the damage drop-off of weapons, you can make precise distance measurements with the D.A.R.C.I. However, this perk doesn’t offer much more benefit.
Target Acquired is more practical, but the damage buff is quite low. Additionally, you should know that the weapon’s impact is already low, so the 6% doesn’t make a significant difference. In PvE, this advantage is hardly noticeable.
The increased target acquisition is top-notch in PvP, making it easier for you to hit opponents. Therefore, D.A.R.C.I. is more recommended for the Crucible.
D.A.R.C.I. with ornament
Conclusion: D.A.R.C.I. has unique properties that are nice but not very useful in the middle of a PvE fight, making it not worth sacrificing the exotic slot for. Sniper rifles are currently not the first choice among Guardians. And if you want to use a sniper, a legendary sniper will do just as well. Therefore, only buy D.A.R.C.I. if you want it for your collection – or don’t know what else to do with your Legendary Shards. Take it into PvP – you can get some nice kills with it.

At Twitch Con 2017, Studio Wildcard announced that the Aberration expansion for ARK Survival Evolved (PC, PS4, Xbox One) has been postponed. The release was initially scheduled for October 2017.

The horror action game Friday the 13th is getting an update for Halloween that is supposed to explain to players how to play Tommy Jarvis correctly.
Tommy Jarvis is a character from three of the “Friday the 13th” movies and is also featured in the horror action game. The villain Jason has a particular interest in him, as his mother was the only one who could inflict a severe defeat on the murderer. In the game, Tommy plays a very special role.
Tommy Must Protect Others
When you play as Tommy, it is when a Counselor (one of the players who need to survive) finds a radio in the game and can bring back a player who has already been killed. This player then returns as Tommy. Tommy has all stats at maximum value, fears little, and enters the game with a shotgun. This would make him the ideal hunter, but that is not his role at all. His part is to protect the Counselors in the game.
However, many seem to have misunderstood this, as a new update for Friday the 13th makes it clearer what role Tommy is supposed to play. These are only minor adjustments, such as commands that clarify that Tommy is neither to hunt Jason nor run away, but must protect the Counselors so that they can survive.
Tommy also no longer makes comments like “I have to get out of here,” as this misled players into thinking that Tommy had to run away. Additionally, Tommy gets bonus XP when he sacrifices himself for Jason, provided other living Counselors are nearby.

New features for pirates
But the developers want to take their time and provide more content for the players. The latest activities include silent communication via a selection of commands as well as the “Brig”. If you have a rogue pirate on board who is sabotaging you, you can throw them in the brig – if you can catch them.
As a prisoner, you then try to persuade the other crew members to release you. This happens when the team votes together for it.
Sink your own ship
With “Scuttling”, it is possible to sink your own ship. However, you should only do this in desperate situations if you do not want your ship to fall into the hands of another crew.
If you want to have adventures alone, you can get the “Small Ship”, which you can steer alone across the sea. However, the boat is not well armed, and fighting alone against a crew of pirates is generally not a good idea…
However, the developers still want to integrate more features before they release Sea of Thieves. Given the current state and the speed at which the team integrates new features, a release date early next year seems realistic.

Most MMOs have at least one aspect that stands out particularly strongly. For example, Star Wars: The Old Republic has a captivating story, TERA has an action-packed, exciting combat system, and World of Warcraft has an incredible amount of content that has accumulated over the years. However, often these individual points are not enough for a game to truly keep players engaged for a long time. One often thinks: “Wouldn’t it be great if Game X would adopt this or that feature from Game Y?”
As an example: Some players, like our boss, desire a significantly more dynamic combat system for the world of Star Wars: The Old Republic, similar to that of TERA. This is especially exciting for melee fighters and would fit particularly well with wielding lightsabers.
That’s why our question this week is: Which MMO combo would create the perfect mix for you?
Cortyn says: As you might expect from me, the foundation for my perfect MMO crossover would be World of Warcraft. The scope, game world, story, and the sheer number of “small” things to do in the game (pet battles, achievements, toys) are what comprise the core for me.
The second part I would steal from WildStar, which in my opinion still has some of the best gameplay systems to date. The much more action-oriented combat system would fit excellently into World of Warcraft. In WildStar, (almost) every ability was a skill shot, and players had to remain in constant motion. Additionally, I would take the limitless freedom of WildStar’s housing system, where you could freely rotate, resize, and place thousands of objects as desired.
The combination of these features from WoW and WildStar would constitute my personal dream MMO!
