The new security measure for Pokémon GO is being stopped by an Apple update. The future for the blacklist currently looks bleak.
In recent weeks, we reported that Niantic has come up with a new security measure. A blacklist is supposed to ensure that cheaters cannot start their Pokémon GO app. However, Apple does not allow the mechanism of the blacklist to be revealed. A setback for Niantic.
iOS Update Slows Down Pokémon GO Blacklist
Actually, the idea of Niantic’s “blacklist” sounds good. The list records banned apps like GPS spoofers that enable players to cheat. When starting Pokémon GO, the game checks which other apps are installed on the device. If a banned app is found that is also on the blacklist, Pokémon GO will not start.
In this way, cheaters are kept out and only get a black screen.
At the moment, it seems that the blacklist is facing difficult times. This particularly affects iOS devices on which a security vulnerability has been fixed.
A bug allowed apps to access other installed apps on the device. However, the bug has now been fixed.
As a result, Pokémon GO can no longer check which other apps are installed on the iOS device. This vulnerability apparently exists on devices that have not yet installed the 11.1.1 update.
In a tweet, Pepijn Bruienne (Mac Enterprise Administrator) explained that the 11.1.1 update fixes the bug.

The idea of the blacklist is fundamentally good. If it works, many cheaters will be stopped – at least on Android devices.
However, the developers still need to significantly improve the blacklist, as there are already many ways circulating online to bypass the feature. In Discord channels of the corresponding software, they talk about renaming the app and other workarounds that circumvent the blacklist.
This anti-cheat measure will reduce the number of cheaters. However, Pokémon GO will not be “cheater-free” as a result.
The developers have already announced improvements for Pokémon GO. However, when we will receive them and what impact they will have on the game is still uncertain.
The 6 new races from WoW: Battle for Azeroth each receive a very special equipment set: Heritage Armor.
The next expansion for World of Warcraft, Battle for Azeroth, has been in development for some time. At BlizzCon 2017, there was plenty of information about the next chapter of Azeroth. One of the biggest changes will be the implementation of six new races. Three for the Horde (Highmountain Tauren, Nightborne, Zandalari Trolls) and three for the Alliance (Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves).
These “allied races” must first be unlocked by playing through the story with a main character so that players can subsequently create characters of that species.
Thanks to the new “allied races”, there are 6 new character slots!
As a special incentive for leveling such a character, there is an exclusive, cosmetic armor set. This Heritage Armor is a special set of equipment that reflects the traditions of these races. For the Nightborne, these are the typical blue-purple armors with feathers, while the Zandalari have armor pieces that strongly resemble those of the Inca or Maya.
But how do you get this Heritage Armor?
To unlock the Heritage Armor, you must level a character of the allied races from level 20 (the starting level) to 110.
The wings are part of the Heritage Armor.
At BlizzCon, it sounded like you would have to manually level the character for this – a simple race change or character boost would be excluded.
However, the equipment can only be transmogged by the corresponding characters. So you cannot dress a dwarf in the armor of a Void Elf. Only a Void Elf can wear the armor of the Void Elves.
Are you excited about the allied races and the Heritage Armor? Or is this topic completely uninteresting to you?
A year ago, we introduced the big hopefuls for 2017 on Mein MMO. What has become of the most promising MMOs and MMORPGs for 2017?
Almost a year ago, on November 20, 2016, the article “The most promising MMOs and MMORPGs in 2017” was published on Mein MMO. This article received a lot of attention and was read throughout the year. Approximately 130,000 people viewed it.
Today we ask ourselves: What were the thoughts about the games back then, and how did 2017 turn out for these games?
Bless – A graphical showstopper or a gem of the genre?
What people thought in 2016: People thought Bless would come to Europe in 2017 since it was already released in Korea and had found a publisher for the West. At that time, we assumed Bless could at least offer solid Asian fare for MMORPG fans.
This is what really happened in 2017: Bless was withdrawn from the market in Korea and Russia and reworked again because it was too unsuccessful in its original form. Following that, the EU publisher for Bless pulled out. A release of the game in the West is now still planned for 2018 – developer Neowiz intends to release it on Steam themselves.

Conclusion: Bless was actually a safe release candidate for 2017, as everything was already set up for it, and the game was finished, only needing to be ported. However, there were always concerns about whether it would succeed. With Bless, it was thought: This won’t break any trees, it’s only really interesting for genre fans. Maybe after the rework, it will really get better.
It doesn’t always have to be legendary or exotic! In PvP of Destiny 2, you can also succeed with blue weapons. These 5 are particularly strong.
You see them everywhere in the Crucible: The MIDA Multi-Tool, Uriel’s Gift, the Accuser or the Origin Story. These are the top weapons that dominate in the first weeks and months in PvP. Especially the auto rifles have a good standing.
It’s not particularly surprising: All these top weapons belong to the quality tier “Legendary” (purple), with the MIDA Multi-Tool and the Wings of Vigilance also being two exotics holding top spots. Weapons of lower quality tiers are not represented.
However, blue guns can also be excellent in PvP, as Venero TV shows. He presents 5 blue weapons that can compete with legendary firearms – and in some cases even outperform them:

Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill grants increased damage
High Caliber Rounds: Increased range, shots stagger targets.
Azimuth DSU deals a crit damage of 71 in PvP. With the active “Kill Clip” perk, that increases to 94 damage. It has high range, which is appreciated by hand cannons.
Armillary PSU – Scout Rifle
Armillary PSU is a scout rifle that deals kinetic damage. Compared to the MIDA, it has increased impact and range, but lower fire rate and other stats.
The special perks:
Faster Draw: This weapon can be drawn faster
High Caliber Rounds: Increased range, shots stagger targets.
According to Venero TV, this weapon is definitely fun, and it is competitive in PvP. Both perks are useful in the Crucible.
Madrugada SR2 – Scout Rifle
The energy scout rifle Madrugada SR2 comes from Omolon. It has the same impact and fire rate as the MIDA Multi-Tool and excellent handling.
The perks:
Explosive Payload: Projectiles create an explosion on impact.
Alloy Magazine: Increased reload speed when the magazine is empty.
Madrugada SR2 feels great in hand. The perks are more suited for PvE, but it is surprisingly good in PvP as well.
Sondok-C – Submachine Gun
Sondok-C is a submachine gun for the kinetic slot.
The perks:
Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill grants increased damage
Bouncing Bullets or Tactical Mag
The special thing about this submachine gun: It is completely identical to the legendary submachine gun “Antiope-D”. The stats and perks are the same, and the feel of the gameplay is equal. If you don’t have an Antiope-D, you might as well go for the Sondok-C. This is said to be obtainable in the adventure “Exodus Siege” on Nessus.
Sandwasp-3AU – Auto Rifle
Finally, an auto rifle called Sandwasp-3AU, that competes in the energy slot with overpowered weapons like Uriel’s Gift or the Accuser. According to Venero TV, this weapon can definitely hold its own; it’s his favorite to play with.
The perks:
Dynamic Sway Reduction: While the trigger is held, precision is increased over time.
High Caliber Rounds: Increases range, staggers targets.
Compared to Uriel’s Gift, the Sandwasp has a significantly higher fire rate, but lower impact. Uriel’s Gift holds advantages in range, while the other stats are better or equally good on Sandwasp.
At short to medium distances, the Sandwasp-3AU is extremely strong. You should definitely try it out in PvP.
In summary: You don’t necessarily need legendary or exotic weapons to be competitive in PvP. Even with blue weapons, you can achieve nice kills.
Do you also create surprises in PvP with blue weapons? Do you have any further recommendations?
Lineage 2 Revolution offers a total of 24 classes. But which one is the best to start the game? Find out in our guide which 10 classes perform the best and why you should play them.
The mobile MMO Lineage 2 Revolution offers you 4 races and 3 base classes. You can choose from the races of Humans, Dark Elves, Elves, Dwarves, and the classes of Warriors, Rogues, and Mystics. That doesn’t seem like much at first, but from level 31 you can advance your class into one of two additional options.
But which combination of race and class is ideal for which role and playstyle? We have 10 recommended classes for you!
Hawkeye (Hawkeye)
Race
Human
Class
Rogue
Leveling
5/5
Dungeons
3/5
PvP
3/5
The Hawkeye is a ranged fighter that deals area damage from a distance and slows down enemies.
He excels particularly well at leveling and grinding, as his strong ranged attack performs especially well in auto-play. Just let him run on his own and your hero will swiftly farm enemies.
In dungeons, however, the Hawkeye performs rather mediocre (hence only 3 out of 5 in the table), as it struggles to control flying enemies and takes a lot of damage.
In PvP, you should play the Hawkeye mainly in sieges. There it can often land the decisive finishing blow from a distance. However, in a 1vs1 duel, this class is rather weak.
Paladin (Paladin)
Race
Human
Class
Warrior
Leveling
4/5
Dungeons
4/5
PvP
4/5
The Paladin is a well-balanced melee class that excels in every aspect of the game.
When it comes to leveling and grinding, the Paladin, as a melee fighter, has to move a lot, but he hits hard and can take a lot of damage. So you can let him grind alone.
Due to his many control skills, the Paladin is well-received in any dungeon.
In PvP, the Paladin should also be used as a control hero. He lacks burst damage to secure kills on his own.
Bishop (Bishop)
Race
Human
Class
Mystic
Leveling
2/5
Dungeons
4/5
PvP
5/5
The Bishop is a support hero who is extremely hard to kill.
Unfortunately, he is not suitable for leveling and grinding as a healer and supporter. He simply lacks damage output.
In dungeons, raids, and world bosses, the Bishop is always welcome as a support hero. However, in smaller dungeons, he is not absolutely necessary.
In PvP, however, a supporter is an invaluable advantage for any team, as you can stay alive much longer and optimally capture or defend the highly contested mission objectives.
Silver Ranger (Silver Ranger)
Race
Elf
Class
Rogue
Leveling
5/5
Dungeons
3/5
PvP
3.5/5
Silver Rangers are similar to the human Hawkeyes as ranged fighters. They have fast attacks and high range.
As a ranged fighter, this heroine is excellent for farming and leveling.
Like the Hawkeye, the Silver Ranger has difficulty with flying enemies in dungeons.
In PvP, the Silver Ranger is slightly better than the Hawkeye, as she attacks faster.
Sword Singer (Sword Singer)
Race
Elf
Class
Warrior
Leveling
3.5/5
Dungeons
4/5
PvP
3.5/5
Sword Singers are beautiful fighters with well-balanced stats.
When it comes to leveling and grinding, the Sword Singer can score points with ranged attacks, but she doesn’t have the best burst damage values.
Due to her well-balanced stats and buffs, this class is well-suited for dungeons.
In PvP, the Sword Singer should avoid 1vs1 duels due to her rather mediocre burst DPS potential. However, in mass battles, she can score greatly thanks to her buffs.
Temple Knight (Temple Knight)
Race
Elf
Class
Warrior
Leveling
2/5
Dungeons
3/5
PvP
5/5
Temple Knights are tanky warriors who can become temporarily invulnerable.
Unfortunately, this class is almost purely a tank and has little DPS potential. Therefore, it is poorly suited for grinding and leveling.
Most dungeons are not designed for having a tank. However, it doesn’t hurt.
In PvP, the Temple Knight shows her true strength! Anyone who has tried to capture the crystals in sieges always wishes for a temporarily invulnerable Temple Knight to secure the mission objective.
Spell Singer (Spell Singer)
Race
Elf
Class
Mystic
Leveling
3.5/5
Dungeons
4/5
PvP
4.5/5
If you want to deal a lot of AoE damage at range and look good doing it, then choose the Spell Singer!
With her area attacks, this heroine can deal significant damage. She is therefore quite suitable for leveling and grinding.
The same applies to dungeons. There, the nuke elf also scores with good DPS numbers. Additionally, she can slow down and control enemies.
The mass battles in PvP are also a paradise for this heroine. AoE damage is key!
Abyss Walker (Abyss Walker)
Race
Dark Elf
Class
Rogue
Leveling
4/5
Dungeons
4/5
PvP
4.5/5
Do you want to play the ultimate glass cannon? Then get this dark elf damage dealer!
Glass cannon should be taken literally here! The Abyss Walker is so fragile that he can die even while auto-grinding against the standard enemies if he gets unlucky. So don’t let him run wild for too long or pack him plenty of healing potions. Nevertheless, he should swiftly wipe out enemy hordes while leveling and grinding.
In dungeons, the Abyss Walker is always welcome as the primary DPS class. With his bleeding effects, he can cause good DPS over time. But be cautious not to take too much damage.
In PvP, the Abyss Walker slaughters everything, but you should always be careful not to accidentally get caught in area attacks or to be caught off guard. This class is therefore only for skilled players.
Blade Dancer (Blade Dancer)
Race
Dark Elf
Class
Warrior
Leveling
4/5
Dungeons
4/5
PvP
4/5
The Blade Dancer is currently (November 2017) the most popular class in Korea, and there is a reason for that. This dark elf not only looks good, but is also clearly superior in all areas.
With his good DPS values, solid stamina, and practical buffs, the Blade Dancer can optimally grind, farm, and level.
His versatility also comes into play in dungeons. With this class, you can’t really go wrong. The same goes for PvP. Blade Dancers are just great!
Slayer (Slayer)
Race
Dwarf
Class
Warrior
Leveling
4/5
Dungeons
4/5
PvP
5/5
This cute little dwarf may not have the fastest attack speed, but she hits like a hammer and is nearly unbeatable in PvP!
While leveling and grinding, she zips through enemies like a little whirlwind and slaughters them all! Just let the Slayer have some time alone, and she will present you with mountains of dead enemies!
In dungeons, her high speed and good DPS output also make her a good choice.
In PvP, this cute little rascal also need not hide. Thanks to her dwarf abilities, the Slayer increases her defense so much that she becomes nearly invulnerable. And tanky heroes are always a good idea in mass PvP battles, especially if they can deal damage too.
Actually, the layoffs at CCP Games should not have an impact on the MMORPG EVE Online. However, they did.
The majority of the community team was let go during restructuring. Allegedly, only four members of the team are still employed at CCP Games. The impact on the game became evident last weekend. The “The Anger Games” were supposed to take place, a community tournament that emphasizes fairness and is held annually in collaboration with CCP Games. But that did not happen.
Anger Games had to be canceled
Since every player in the Anger Games starts with the maximum skills and the same restrictions in ship building, certain adjustments need to be made on the server. For this, assistance from CCP Games is necessary, which they have always provided in collaboration with the tournament organizers.
However, since the majority of the community team has been laid off, the tournament had to be canceled at short notice. The remaining staff simply did not have the opportunity to make the necessary adjustments in such a short time.
EVE Online
Community team aims to resume regular operations
“CCP Falcon”, one of the few remaining community team members, apologized to the players. The team needs to come together to be able to resume regular community operations. But preparations for some upcoming community projects are already underway. However, after the restructuring at CCP Games, there simply was not enough time to prepare the Anger Games.
Many fans of EVE Online understand this. Others, however, are upset because the layoffs did indeed have an impact on the game, contrary to CCP Games’ announcement.
The MMORPG Crowfall received a major update. With this, you can finally create a custom hero from various classes and races.
Crowfall has been playable in a pre-alpha phase for some time now, but it doesn’t yet offer all features and functionalities, as these are being developed “on the side.” This also includes classes and races that have not yet been completed.
After a comprehensive test of the campaign has taken place, the developers rolled out a significant update, which implemented the race and class selection along with thousands of character customization options.
Finally, there is a “real” character creation
It is now possible to create a character from the classes
Knight
Confessor
Templar
Ranger
Assassin
Druid
Frostweaver
Champion
Myrmidion
Cleric
Duelist
as well as from the races
Human
Half-Elf
Nethari
Fae
Wood-Elf
High-Elf
Stoneborn
Half-Giant
Elken
Minotaur
Centaur
Guincean
to create. It should be noted that not all races can play every class. At least not at the start. After the launch, the developers want to think about further combinations.
First insight into the gameplay mechanics
“The start of our first campaign test was an important milestone for Crowfall. With important features like castle building, fog of war, the conquest mechanic, and sieges, campaigns contribute significantly to fulfilling the promise of Crowfall,” explains Gordon Walton, Chairman and Executive Producer at ArtCraft.
The test campaign is open around the clock and offers the opportunity to get a first look at how Crowfall plays. Because every campaign world will offer its own rules and maps, resulting in different gameplay. It should even be possible to conquer these worlds if you are strong enough. However, keep in mind that the lifespan of a campaign world is limited and that “the hunger” will eventually destroy it.
“Crowfall appeals to a variety of player types, including builders, explorers, and conquerors,” says Lars Janssen, CEO of Travian Games, the European publisher of Crowfall. “The Eternal Kingdoms introduced earlier this year provided builders with a place to craft their masterpieces and to establish player-managed castles, towns, and markets. The new campaign worlds now invite explorers with their unique maps and conquerors to engage in conquest.”
Crowfall is on a good path
“After the launch of the campaigns, it is now possible to test the new systems for races, classes, and disciplines. Players can now experience an unprecedented abundance of character customization options,” explains J. Todd Coleman, Creative Director of Crowfall. “Dozens of unique combinations of races and classes, along with hundreds of weapon styles and subclasses, allow for millions of unique character combinations. This opens up possibilities for players to create a character build that has never been attempted before.”
The update now rolled out not only brings new possibilities for character creation but also a revamped system for character creation and skill training, significant visual upgrades, and improved monster AI. Thus, the MMORPG Crowfall is on a good path towards release, which is set to take place sometime next year.
Lineage 2 Revolution (iOS and Android) is a complex mobile MMORPG that can be quite confusing at the beginning. Find out here in our Beginners’ Guide how the gameplay works, how to level up items, and how auto-play works.
Anyone who thinks that all mobile games and smartphone games are simple click-fests without depth has not seen Lineage 2 Revolution. This successful mobile MMO from Netmarble is so complex that at first, you sit quite confused in front of your smartphone and only understand “Elf Forest”.
But don’t worry, we will show you in our Beginners’ Guide how to optimally start the game and understand everything from the beginning.
Controls & Interface
When your hero appears in the starting area for the first time, you will be confronted with an unusually complex interface. Lineage 2 Revolution is on par with a big MMO on PC or console.
Controls and Skills
You control your hero with the control button at the bottom left.
On the right side is your skill menu.
The icon in the middle (at the bottom right of the screen) is your standard attack. You simply use your equipped weapon to attack and do not consume resources and have no cooldowns.
The five smaller circles around the standard attack indicate your skills. The three circles on the left of the standard attack are regular skills. The two upper circles are reserved for special abilities that you will need to find in the game. The special skills are powerful but have long cooldowns.
Map, Potions, and Menus
Above the skills is a display that shows you how many health potions, mana potions, and “soul shots” you currently have. Soul shots increase your damage per hit but are consumed per attack. So save them for bosses. If you run out of any of these items, you can immediately and without a merchant buy more by simply clicking on the empty space.
In the top right is the mini-map. Red dots indicate enemies, yellow dots indicate NPCs. The skull below shows the available world bosses in the area. Clicking on the map will let you see a larger version of it.
To the left of the map are icons that allow you to open the various menus of the game – such as the character menu, inventory, mailbox, or shop.
Energy Display, PvP Settings, and Quest Log
In the top left, you will find your health and mana display. You will also see your “battle power”, a display of your hero’s overall strength.
Using the dove icon to the left of the mana and health bars, you can set how you want to behave in open PvP (if allowed in the area). Do you want to be unable to attack anyone, only defend yourself against attacks, or are you bloodthirsty and set the display to “Attack all players”?
Using the sword & shield icon on the other side, you can see if you currently have active buffs.
Below the health and mana display is a small arrow. When you click on it, a window will pop up where you can claim rewards for level-ups or check the notice board.
Finally, there is the quest log which shows you all currently active quests. Tip: You can scroll down on the list for multiple quests.
Lineage 2 Revolution: Quests and Auto-Play
Quests in Lineage 2 Revolution are quite simple. You go to a quest giver and get a task. Then your hero automatically runs off, finds the appropriate area, and slaughters through the enemies.
He will keep doing this until he fulfills the mission objective. Then he runs back to the quest giver. If you want to turn off this autopilot and want to fight and run yourself, just click on the current task in the quest window on the left side of the interface.
Auto-Play Mode in Detail
By the way, you can still control your hero in auto-play mode, but as soon as you take your hands off the buttons, your hero will go back to his standard program. You can indicate how your hero behaves in auto-play using the button labeled “Auto” to the right of the chat screen.
If the button is outlined in blue, your hero will unleash all the skills he has and also consume potions if needed. A yellow outline shows that the hero only uses standard attacks and does not invest any resources. Ideal if you want to time your special powers in auto-combat or do not want your hero to waste valuable potions while grinding.
Daily and Weekly Quests
Later in the game, in addition to your main quests, you will also receive daily and weekly quests.
Every day you can complete up to 12 daily quests for big rewards. You can accept up to three quests at the same time. If you complete all 12 in one day, there’s extra pay. If you cannot finish a quest, you can automatically check it off after a while and claim the reward without doing anything!
Weekly quests are similar; you need to complete a total of 70 within a week. Then a special reward awaits. However, you can only complete 10 quests a day. With the auto-quest function, you can automatically send your hero on the way to the next weekly quest.
Tip: Complete your daily quests and the 10 weekly tasks whenever possible. The rewards are extremely useful, especially at the beginning of the game! Additionally, these tasks can be optimally completed via auto-play, and you can do something else in the meantime.
Battle Power, Equipment & Runes
The higher your battle power, the tougher challenges your hero can tackle. And you increase battle power most effectively through your equipment. Items are categorized by letters. C-level items are total junk, while A-items are extremely good at the start of the game.
You can easily boost your equipment by “feeding” other items to the item you want to upgrade. Go to the “Forge Menu” and select all lower-quality items you want to use. Also, make sure you have enough gold, as each upgrade costs in-game currency.
Tip: Do not upgrade C-items, only B or better. Use C-level junk only for leveling up better items.
Increase Item Quality Level
If you want to bring an item to the next quality level, you need the item at the maximum level 30 and another item of the same quality that is also level 30.
So if you want to upgrade a B-quality helmet to A-quality, you need to sacrifice another level 30 B item via the “Combine” menu in the forge. Then the helmet will return to level 1, but it will be at A-quality.
Increase Your Battle Power Through Runes
Once you are able to enter the “Tower of Triumph”, you can enhance your runes. Runes are a separate menu under “Character”. There you can enhance four sub-runes (each gives you a bonus) with rune stones. Once you have enhanced all four runes, the central rune levels up and gives you additional bonuses.
The necessary resources for rune enhancements can be obtained in the Tower of Triumph. However, be aware that rune enhancement does not work automatically. There is a chance that it will fail, and the resources will be wasted.
Tip: Check Your Rewards!
Lineage 2 Revolution wants to make you happy! Therefore, the game regularly gives you cool stuff. You get rewards for the following things:
Logging in
Online time
Achievements
Waiting offline in cities
Redeeming loyalty points in the shop
So make sure to check the “Event” menu every day and claim your free stuff. Ensure that you collect all these goodies daily. Keep in mind that your rewards usually end up in the mailbox, and go to the inventory often to unpack all those loot chests.
Dungeons, Tower of Triumph, and the Arena
Early in the game, you can complete a solo dungeon. In it, you will face a single boss, whom you will defeat. Depending on how quickly you win, the better the loot you will receive, so use your best skills and items. Once you’ve achieved your best time, you can skip the fight in the future and automatically finish the dungeon with your current best time and loot.
Tower of Triumph
After the dungeons, the Tower of Triumph comes a bit later in the game. In it, you fight through a number of monsters that appear in waves on each floor. You have limited time, and the faster you are, the better the loot.
Every 5 levels comes a special level where only bosses appear. In the tower, you receive loot and rune fragments on each level that you need to upgrade your runes. Once a day, you can automatically clear all the levels of the tower you’ve completed so far and claim a huge amount of loot without any further action.
Offline PvP in the Arena
In the arena, you can duel against other players. However, these are AI-controlled player characters that you select from a list. You can have 5 arena battles per day and earn PvP honor. Ideally, fight against weaker opponents that you can defeat. Tip: Upgrade your equipment as much as possible before entering the arena and use soul shots for extra damage.
Elite Dungeons
Elite dungeons feature particularly tough opponents that are best tackled in a team with other players. You can automatically look for a group through the dungeon menu and then start grinding.
The grind is especially worthwhile during the so-called “Bonus Time (Hot Time)”, during which monsters drop even more loot and give extra experience.
World of Warcraft says goodbye to the popular tier sets. We reveal what the developers expect from this.
In World of Warcraft, there are thousands of different items, but only a few of them remain as memorable to players as the tier sets. These armor sets, available for every class in the game, not only have a unique appearance but also come with powerful set bonuses.
Wearing two or four pieces of a set usually grants a powerful passive buff, such as increased damage on certain abilities or reduced cooldowns.
But the popular tier sets will soon be a thing of the past. In an interview with Gameinformer, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas revealed that there will be no traditional tier sets in Battle for Azeroth.
While there will still be matching armors, they will be visually adapted to their original location rather than the actual class. For example, a set from a troll raid would likely look very “trollish” on all classes.
The main reason for the elimination of tier sets is the bonuses that were available on them. Hazzikostas explains that tier sets have changed drastically over the years. In the past, players would work on a set for 6-8 months and feel proud of it.
Nowadays, players get one or two pieces of the set early on, along with the first bonus. This effectively “locks” the respective armor slots for the player. Those with a set bonus from the chest and shoulders will not easily swap these items, even if a significantly better item drops for these slots.
“It limits the options. Now it feels more like a disadvantage rather than a strength.”
Players will not have to completely forgo bonuses. These are now simply part of the Azerite system with the Heart of Azeroth. This allows players to unlock different bonuses on various items.
What do you think about the removal of traditional tier sets? A good decision? Or was this always a main reason for you to go raiding at all?

The release of Star Wars Battlefront 2 is just around the corner. If you’re not quite sure whether to join, this summary might help you make your decision.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is an online shooter developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The focus is on multiplayer battles, but the title also offers a single-player campaign that aims to tell an exciting story.
Important:
The DLCs such as new heroes and maps are distributed for free.
A loot box system provides random content like star cards that grant you new abilities or boosts, heroes and starfighters, credits, emotes, and crafting materials.
Criticism of Loot Boxes
This loot box system is at the center of some criticism, as it was noticeably easier to obtain star cards and new heroes as well as starfighters during the beta and in the EA Access and Origin Access versions if you purchased these boxes with real money instead of earning them over a longer period of time.

What do you think is the most likely possibility on this topic? Would “separate play” actually be a good thing from a story perspective? Or should both sides be able to experience everything – and always?
With Battle for Azeroth, the war between Horde and Alliance is reignited in World of Warcraft. While the Horde seeks support on the continent of Zandalar, the Alliance sails to Kul Tiras.
This raises some questions regarding gameplay. Are Horde and Alliance completely separated? It seems to be the case at least partially. For at BlizzCon, the developers already announced that Alliance and Horde would visit different dungeons during the leveling phase.
From a story perspective, this also makes sense. A dungeon that deals with a troll uprising within the city of Zandalar is not a worthwhile target for an Alliance player. Why would they help the Horde with their problems? The same goes for dungeons in Kul Tiras, where humans fight against pirates who want to overthrow Kul Tiras. There is no reason for the Horde to intervene here. Only at max level will all dungeons be available to both factions.
But does this separation of dungeons also provide insights into the leveling phase?
Possibly, as the first preview images and descriptions of the new zones suggest that there are faction-specific problems. But completely separate zones would not match the existing spirit of WoW. Because the conflict between Alliance and Horde would seem ridiculous if opponents are never seen.
Therefore, many fans assume that the Alliance can also sail to Zandalar and the Horde to Kul Tiras after completing a few quests. At least the missions of the “neutral races” (like the fox and serpent people) should be completable by both sides.
Overall, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth will feature 10 different dungeons at launch – how many of these will be “faction-specific” during leveling has not been revealed yet.
There is still no concrete statement from Blizzard on this topic. However, it would be surprising if, in an expansion that focuses so much on faction warfare, players couldn’t experience a lot of world PvP.
How it will be is at the earliest shown in the beta beginning in 2018.
Cortyn says: Honestly, I’m getting some “WildStar flashbacks” because there, many zones were very hard to reach for each respectively faction. As a result, the world never felt “complete” because you could never “visit” enemy territory unless you took very strange exploitative detours. I also can’t imagine Blizzard giving each faction “only” 3 quest areas, and I assume that Horde and Alliance can complete at least the missions of the neutral races on both continents.
What do you think is the most likely possibility on this topic? Would “separate play” actually be a good thing from a story perspective? Or should both sides be able to experience everything – and always?

The first expansion of Destiny 2, titled “Curse of Osiris,” will be released on December 5, 2017, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It tells a new story surrounding the powerful Warlock Osiris, the Vex, and Mercury.
Prior to this, the developers at Bungie will host three livestreams where they will discuss the expansion in detail. The first stream will take place tomorrow, November 15, at 8 PM our time. We will cover this stream on Mein-MMO.de in a live ticker.
The first stream will be about the new story of “Curse of Osiris.” You will learn more about the new characters and locations of this expansion and get to know the enemies. Bungie has released a short teaser trailer which we embed here:

Ikora Rey mentions in the trailer that something is happening on Mercury. The legendary Warlock Osiris might be involved. Following this, several familiar scenes from “Curse of Osiris” are shown. There are texts displayed inviting you to join Bungie in the livestream to explore the new world Mercury. Additionally, we’ll learn more about the story and the characters.
At the end, a voice speaks to us, presumably Osiris: He has predicted many things before – but he has never seen you (the Guardian). We also get to see Osiris without his headgear: Here is a new Veist grenade launcher in the picture:
A look at the Lighthouse with Brother Vance:
In the trailer, the Lighthouse “opens”
Curse of Osiris will include “raid content.” What this means will be revealed in the livestreams. In these articles, we have already speculated about what this might be:
Today, on November 14, the major expansion “Plains of Eidolon” comes to Warframe on PS4 and Xbox One. Here you can find out what you can experience in the Plains of Eidolon and what makes them special.
In October, the major Warframe expansion “Plains of Eidolon” was released on PC and immediately set records:
The Plains of Eidolon are something special in the Warframe universe. Normally, the gameplay consists of missions with predefined quest lines. The Plains introduced a large open-world map, where the space ninjas can move freely.
Today, November 14, Plains of Eidolon is released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The Plains of Eidolon bring an open world to Warframe
In the Plains of Eidolon, you find yourself on an open map that takes you over hills, meadows, lakes, and rivers. There are mines, caves, and the city of Cetus with its inhabitants, the Ostrons, to explore. A total of 50 players can stay in Cetus and go on missions with a group of up to 4 Tenno.
The map undergoes a day/night cycle. At night, endgame enemies appear, while during the day even “baby ninja accounts” can roam the Plains. The giant Eidolon Teralyst also presents a challenge for seasoned veterans.
Warframes are combat suits that grant their wearer supernatural powers and represent the essence of an ancient warrior. Gara is the 34th Warframe and manipulates glass with her abilities.
New Weapons and Upgrades
Astilla: fires projectiles that explode on impact
Volnus: a lightweight glass hammer that deals great damage
Argonak: an upgrade in the form of a curved blade
Krohkur and Dual-Korhkur: the upgrades complete the arsenal, so they can always be equipped
Focus Rework
The Operator-Warrior Focus 2.0 will be a heavily combat-oriented skill tree. The Operator can now be equipped with individual weapons and armors
New Pneuma Skin for Mag (Seen in the title image of the post)
The quarterly figures from NCSoft are here. They paint a clear picture: The mobile MMORPG Lineage M has generated over 400 million euros in Asia. The numbers for Guild Wars 2 also show an upward trend. However, the level is significantly lower than it was 2 years ago.
NCSoft’s business figures for the 3rd quarter of 2017 are here.
Blade & Soul and AION are stable – Where is WildStar?
There are actually no surprises with the PC MMORPGs. They had already taken a hit last quarter, but are still relatively respectable. The popular games in Asia like Lineage and Lineage 2 are stable at relatively low levels. The same goes for AION and Blade & Soul, which are also available in the West.
Perpetual problem child WildStar is once again not part of the public quarterly figures.
Guild Wars 2 probably no longer plays the big role it did in 2015
There is actually good news for the Western game Guild Wars 2. Here, revenues have shot up by 49% compared to the previous quarter. This is due to the expansion “Path of Fire”, which was released at the end of September.
However, the news is only really encouraging at first glance: Guild Wars improved from a negative record of 13.5 billion won to 20.1 billion won (about 15.3 million euros).
This is overall a significantly lower level than it was 2 years ago. Back then, the first expansion for Guild Wars 2, “Heart of Thorns”, brought GW2 from 20.6 billion won to 37 billion won (about 28 million euros).
GW2 is quite far away from such values in 2017. In 2017, the “record revenue with a fresh expansion” is the level that Guild Wars 2 had 2 years ago in a normal state.
However: Heart of Thorns was released at the beginning of the quarter, while Path of Fire was at the end of the quarter. Therefore, it’s possible that some sales extend into the next quarter.
Nevertheless, it seems clear that GW2 no longer plays the role it did in 2015.
Mobile on the rise, Lineage M generates 420 million euros in the quarter
Overall, NCSoft continues the trend from the last quarter. In 2/2017, all PC MMORPGs dropped, but the mobile MMORPG Lineage M was able to catch the downward trend, having only been released at the end of the quarter.
The mobile game “Lineage M” has been active throughout the entire quarter and has lifted NCSoft’s business figures to unprecedented heights. Over the 3rd quarter, mobile games generated more than 551 billion won, which is about 420 million euros.
Any doubts about this are now dispelled; the future and present of NCSoft and their MMORPGs seem to lie in the mobile sector. In recent months, four new mobile MMORPGs have been introduced.
More about the future of NCSoft and its strategic direction can be found in this article:
Black Desert Online has already some of the most beautiful grind and farming areas with the Elf Forest. The eerie beautiful Elf Forest will soon be even bigger and more magnificent with Kamasylvia 2!
For a long time, players of Black Desert Online had to wait for the large forest area Kamasylvia (Kamasilve in English). It had been released in Korea long ago, but players here had to be patient until the first part of Kamasylvia finally appeared.
If you were already fearing that the second part of the forest would take even longer, you can be reassured. The expansion of the Elf Forest is coming soon, and it is beautiful!
Grinding with the Elves!
The Kamasylvia area is an optimal place to grind hard and farm resources. The yield is grand, but some monsters and areas require level 60 and good equipment. Then nothing stands in the way of the great grind in the Elf Forest. Just like the first part of the Kamasylvia Forest, part 2 will also be beautiful.
Bright glades alternate with dark, misty forests. Additionally, there are shrines, outposts, and the Elf City of Grána. There, you can even buy and furnish your own Elf houses. Also, there are new goods for trading and crafting.
But that’s not all; Kamasylvia 2 has more features:
A new cart for trade journeys
A unicorn mount named Diné
New grinding spots like “Polly Forest (with killer mushrooms!)”, “Loopy Tree Forest (ideal for a quick grind in between)”, “Tooth Fairy Forest” and “Gyfin Rhasia Temple”. According to the developers, the temple is supposed to be the hardest grind spot in the forest.
Over 100 story quests, some of which involve the Elf characters of the Shadowblade and the ranger
If you can hardly wait to grind in the second part of Kamasylvia, then we have good news for you: Kamasylvia II is coming tomorrow, on November 15, 2017, to Black Desert and is again a free update.
Monster Hunter World (PC, PS4, Xbox) has 10 cool features that you should know about. You can practice your skills and weapons in the training room, own pets, and be out in large squads!
The YouTuber Arekkz was recently invited to Japan to play Monster Hunter World intensively with the developer Capcom. He returned with a video showcasing 10 features that the action RPG has to offer. The video is embedded at the end of the post.
Here are the 10 features summarized:
1. Bounties and Investigations replace filler quests
In older parts of the franchise, there were filler quests where you had to kill around 20 small monsters or collect mushrooms. These filler quests are replaced by bounties in Monster Hunter World.
In total, you can accept 6 bounties, which you can complete during your main quests. So while you are looking for the giant monster, you can also collect your mushrooms or take care of the small fry.
Investigationsare optional hunting quests, through which you can receive additional items.
The grind goes much faster due to these features.
2. Clear quest progression makes tracking progress easier
In Monster Hunter World, it is made clear what is important to progress in the action RPG.
You receive a list of quest objectives. This gives you a clear picture of what your next steps need to be to advance in the story.
3. Daily bonuses fill your inventory
For daily logins, you receive a bonus item.
The bonuses are rather small and can include items for a potion. Nevertheless, they are a nice support and can be quite useful.
In Monster Hunter World, scout flies help you track down creatures.
If you investigate traces like secretions or footprints, the flies level up.
Eventually, the research level becomes so high that the flies can detect monsters without you needing to search for clues.
When researching, you also learn more about the different monsters and can find out their weaknesses and strengths.
5. Houses & pets!
You will gain access to various houses as you progress in the game.
Additionally, you will be able to catch all sorts of small animals to have them as pets. Catch a spider with your net and place it in your house – someone has to keep those pesky monster insects away!
6. In the training room, you can try out weapons
You will be provided with a training room.
In the room, you will find items to practice various situations. You will find vines to climb along or walls to push off of. This way, you can train different skills and practice attack combinations.
7. Squads become clans with a large multiplayer hub
In Monster Hunter World, you can join squads.
Squads are clans/guilds with exclusive group formation.
Squads are for community management, information, and quest planning.
8. Arm-wrestling to show dominance with pure muscle power!
Arm-wrestling is a fun mini-game where you can kill time – someone always shows up late to the scheduled hunt.
In the lobby, there are barrels where you can duel with pure muscle strength like real hunters!
9. Try on equipment before you buy
There will be a preview function for equipment.
Before you buy a full set of equipment, you can try it on your character. This way, you know what it looks like before buying and whether you would like the look.
10. Wishlist for crafting
At the blacksmith, you can create a wishlist.
The list will include resources you need to craft an item.
The wishlist saves the information and notifies you when you have collected the required resources – this way, you don’t have to constantly check what you still need.
Overall, Monster Hunter World seems to aim to make grinding more pleasant. Features such as being able to do small collection quests alongside are a great time saver without taking away from the work.
In Arekkz’s video, the 10 features are shown in action:

With a simple trick, you can have a lot of fun with Reinhardt in Overwatch . We show you how to execute the charge even better.
Overwatch has a typical “Blizzard learning curve” that follows the popular motto “Easy to learn and hard to master”. Those who want to improve in the hero shooter Overwatch must take some tips and tricks from other players. Recently, there has been a nice hint regarding Reinhardt that makes playing him easier.
On Reddit, the user thar_ has now released a video showing a simple but effective trick to play Reinhardt much more effectively. Within hours, the video and post became one of the most popular in the Overwatch subreddit. In less than 24 hours, the post received over 38,000 upvotes.
The most beautiful kills with Reinhardt are undoubtedly those where you catch an opponent with the charge and carry them to a cliff. It’s truly perfect when the opponent is thrown off, but Reinhardt stays back at the cliff and can wave goodbye.
However, learning the right distance for the charge is not so easy with different cliffs.
A spray logo marks the starting point
Thar_ demonstrates how simple it is: You stand at the cliff and charge forward in the opposite direction. Once you reach the goal, Reinhardt uses a spray logo right in front of him. The spray logo marks the perfect spot to start the charge, as the distance covered is (logically) the same in both directions.

The recently heated debate surrounding Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has stirred up such emotions that even the new live action trailer is receiving numerous thumbs down in protest. Yet, it is really good!
The trailer shows us the rivalry between the Rebellion and the Empire in a different way: A boy and a girl tease each other over the years in classic Star Wars style and become increasingly creative. Ultimately, it culminates, of course, in an epic battle of Light versus Dark!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvsP1svZFKg
Of course, the antics of the two become increasingly exaggerated, but that is precisely what makes the appeal of the trailer. The dynamic between them is evident and how could one better crown it all than with a decisive duel in Battlefront 2?
Nevertheless, one should sometimes just sit back and enjoy the things that are offered. Like the trailer, which knows how to entertain well despite its short duration. Whether one ultimately wants to support the game or not is, of course, up to each individual.
What do you think? Can you still look forward to the light side of Battlefront 2 despite the controversy?
