Monster Hunter World (PC, PS4, Xbox) has 10 cool features that you should know about. You can practice your skills and weapons in the training room, own pets, and be out in large squads! 

The YouTuber Arekkz was recently invited to Japan to play Monster Hunter World intensively with the developer Capcom. He returned with a video showcasing 10 features that the action RPG has to offer. The video is embedded at the end of the post.

Here are the 10 features summarized:

1. Bounties and Investigations replace filler quests

• In older parts of the franchise, there were filler quests where you had to kill around 20 small monsters or collect mushrooms. These filler quests are replaced by bounties in Monster Hunter World.
• In total, you can accept 6 bounties, which you can complete during your main quests. So while you are looking for the giant monster, you can also collect your mushrooms or take care of the small fry.
• Investigations are optional hunting quests, through which you can receive additional items.
• The grind goes much faster due to these features.

2. Clear quest progression makes tracking progress easier

• In Monster Hunter World, it is made clear what is important to progress in the action RPG.
• You receive a list of quest objectives. This gives you a clear picture of what your next steps need to be to advance in the story.

3. Daily bonuses fill your inventory

• For daily logins, you receive a bonus item.
• The bonuses are rather small and can include items for a potion. Nevertheless, they are a nice support and can be quite useful.

4. Scout flies level up through research

• In Monster Hunter World, scout flies help you track down creatures.
• If you investigate traces like secretions or footprints, the flies level up.
• Eventually, the research level becomes so high that the flies can detect monsters without you needing to search for clues.
• When researching, you also learn more about the different monsters and can find out their weaknesses and strengths.

5. Houses & pets!

• You will gain access to various houses as you progress in the game.
• Additionally, you will be able to catch all sorts of small animals to have them as pets. Catch a spider with your net and place it in your house – someone has to keep those pesky monster insects away!

6. In the training room, you can try out weapons

• You will be provided with a training room.
• In the room, you will find items to practice various situations. You will find vines to climb along or walls to push off of. This way, you can train different skills and practice attack combinations.

7. Squads become clans with a large multiplayer hub

• In Monster Hunter World, you can join squads.
• Squads are clans/guilds with exclusive group formation.
• Squads are for community management, information, and quest planning.

8. Arm-wrestling to show dominance with pure muscle power!

• Arm-wrestling is a fun mini-game where you can kill time – someone always shows up late to the scheduled hunt.
• In the lobby, there are barrels where you can duel with pure muscle strength like real hunters!

9. Try on equipment before you buy

• There will be a preview function for equipment.
• Before you buy a full set of equipment, you can try it on your character. This way, you know what it looks like before buying and whether you would like the look.

10. Wishlist for crafting

• At the blacksmith, you can create a wishlist.
• The list will include resources you need to craft an item.
• The wishlist saves the information and notifies you when you have collected the required resources – this way, you don’t have to constantly check what you still need.

Overall, Monster Hunter World seems to aim to make grinding more pleasant.  Features such as being able to do small collection quests alongside are a great time saver without taking away from the work.
