This is not something you see and hear every day: This guy is replacing the sounds in Destiny 2 with sound effects he creates with his voice.
It’s time for the videos of the week! Community Manager Cozmo sifted through a bunch of community submissions and selected the three best videos that we are now presenting to you.
All Guardians who were involved in the works will receive an exclusive emblem that they can proudly show off in the game: This week’s MOTW title was awarded to Youtuber MrElephante – Gaming Videos for an a cappella version of Destiny 2. He removed the actual game sound from a PvP match on the “Altar of Flame” map and overlaid 7 recordings of himself imitating the Destiny 2 sound with his voice. Of course, the announcements from Lord Shaxx are included. Enjoy:

“Life is a collection of memories. Of people we meet. Of places we visit. Of things we experience alone or together with friends,” writes the Youtuber. In his video, you see scenes from Destiny that he fondly remembers. By the way: The song was written and recorded by him.
Finally, there’s a video where a female Nightstalker Hunter is being drawn:

The latest character for Heroes of the Storm, Alexstrasza, was too large for the game. The developers worked with gigantic sizes.
At BlizzCon 2017, the next heroes for Heroes of the Storm were introduced – including Hanzo from Overwatch and Alexstrasza from World of Warcraft. In line with this, there was a cool cinematic showing Hanzo and Alexstrasza battling each other.
Strictly speaking according to “lore”, the fight should be quite one-sided: After all, Alex is a gigantic dragon lady blessed by divine creators while Hanzo is just a human with a bow and absurd ghostly powers. However, in the Nexus of HotS, they are evenly matched.
This inherent disparity in power has always been a problem for the developers. How do you make Alex feel powerful yet “weak enough” to be defeated by other characters? The answer was the dragon form.

Too big for the battlefield: Alexstrasza’s true form
Alex can regularly transform into a dragon during battles, making her harder to kill and giving her stronger abilities. Not to mention, she becomes much larger.
Initially, the developers experimented with the actual size of Alexstrasza’s dragon form. It ended up taking up the entire screen. While it looked cool, it didn’t help the flow of the game. It was more of a short gag to test out.
Alexstrasza’s final dragon form, however, is only about 2-3 times larger than her elven body. This way, she doesn’t obstruct other players’ views, and proper gameplay is still possible. However, she no longer appears very imposing.
A part of Alexstrasza’s gigantic dragon form still exists in the game, by the way. When she switches to her ultimate flight form, you can at least see the shadow of the dragon hovering over the battlefield. A small reminder of what could have been with a crazy idea (that everyone would have hated).
How do you like the design of Alexstrasza in Heroes of the Storm? Is it acceptable to tailor characters to the game? Or should they have completely avoided a dragon form?
In FIFA 18, you see the biggest and smallest players in Ultimate Team.
If you miss the “aerial superiority” in your Ultimate Team and the opponent gets the ball at every corner, then you need bigger players! While they are generally bulkier and slower than the smaller players, they have a significant advantage when it comes to high balls.
Perhaps the following giants will help you. These are the biggest players available in FUT 18!
The biggest players in FUT 18 – ranked by height
In the databases for FUT 18, one player stands out with his height: Simon Bloch Jørgensen. He is listed with an impressive 2.10 meters. The Dane, who was born in Flensburg, plays according to the FUT card for Accrington Stanley in the EFL League Two.
However, it is noteworthy in the databases: He is not assigned a position. Although he can be searched on the transfer market, where he appears as a search suggestion, he is currently not available in FUT 18. The reason is likely that he moved to the National League South this summer, which is not included in FIFA 18. Therefore, the entry in the databases can be seen as a “leftover”.
The 5 biggest players according to the databases:
Simon Bloch Jørgensen – 210 cm – 47 rating (not in the game)
Mikkel Mena Qvist (LV) – 203 cm – 56 rating – AC Horsens
The developers of ARK Survival Evolved are convinced that their Dino MMO should receive a sequel. Additionally, Studio Wildcard is already working on the next DLC, which will be released after Aberration.
Studio Wildcard is planning a ton of new content for ARK Survival Evolved and is even considering a sequel. In an interview with DualShockers, co-creative director Jesse Rapczak spoke about the future of the franchise.
According to Rapczak, the new expansion Aberration will come to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in November 2017. It was originally scheduled to be released in October but has been postponed to an indefinite date.
The next expansion is set to release in 2018 – After that, ARK 2 might come
The next expansion after Aberration is already in pre-production. What this DLC will include has not yet been revealed by Rapczak.
After this planned expansion, Studio Wildcard could start working on a sequel to ARK Survival Evolved. However, the sales figures of Aberration must meet the studio’s expectations.
According to Rapczak, ARK will need to receive a sequel sometime in the next one to two years. That is something Wildcard definitely plans to do, provided the timing is right.
Currently, the studio is not working on a sequel yet. However, Rapczak believes that ARK has been successful enough to justify a sequel in the future.
There are currently no plans on what ARK 2 would include. The team still has too many ideas they want to implement in the original ARK Survival Evolved and its expansions. However, Rapczak has the feeling that Wildcard will determine the future of ARK once the two planned expansions are released.
Is the PUBG developer now trolling the cheaters of the Battle Royale hit? They believe they are only playing with cheaters.
In recent weeks and months, the PUBG developers have repeatedly emphasized that they want to address the cheater problem in the game. Often, one encounters cheaters in the Battle Royale hit: aim-bots, wallhacks, and speedhacks are not uncommon.
But instead of immediately kicking all the cheaters out of the game, developer Bluehole may have unveiled a better tactic. The cheaters feel mocked.
PUBG Ghostban? Cheaters Against Cheaters
It seems that developer Bluehole has introduced a cheater matchmaking in PUBG. Many “salty” cheaters are complaining on social media that something has changed.
Reports of cheaters are being shared on Reddit. One writes, “After I finished my new aimbot yesterday, I wanted to try it out and win a match only with the crossbow. After that, just one with a pistol.
Then I noticed that my matchmaking time was suddenly much higher than usual.”
This excerpt is shared by Reddit user spikepwnz
These statements confirm other players. They also noticed longer wait times and strange behavior from opponents. “I experience the same. Whenever I get killed, it’s by some gods who can hit me with every shot. Even though I’m running around like The Flash!”
PUBG Cheaters – Banned or on a Leash?
In the comments on Reddit, there is speculation about whether Bluehole has possibly integrated a cheater matchmaking system. It could be that the developers first put “suspicious” accounts into this special queue to monitor their behavior.
On the other hand, the developers may simply want to have some fun and annoy the cheaters while the PUBG team gathers more interesting information on the cheat software.
The exact aim of this action is unclear. If there really is cheater matchmaking, it has a significant advantage for you: They would be out of the “normal games”.
Many players are probably wondering now: If they have already identified the cheaters, why not ban them immediately?
The logic behind this becomes clear at second glance. Many cheaters quickly acquire a new account after being banned. In the times of Steam, that is quick and straightforward. It only takes a few minutes for hackers to play again after their ban.
However, once the cheaters are in a special cheater queue, they only realize after two or three games: “Hmm, something’s not right here. Why is everyone so good?”
During this time, the cheaters are not in the “normal” games with you. Thus, Bluehole may be extending the time in which cheaters cannot bother you. A difference that should quickly become noticeable.
In the upcoming battle royale action game with survival elements The Darwin Project, you must be particularly careful, as your traces can betray you.
The Darwin Project will not simply provide a standard battle royale player experience. Also, survival elements play an important role. Because in the Rocky Mountains, where the title is set, it will be bitterly cold. So it is possible that you freeze to death. Therefore, you must always keep warm – but that can lead to problems.
Campfires are essential, but dangerous
You get vital warmth from campfires. However, they also come with a disadvantage, as they betray your position to enemies. The fires can be seen from afar. So it is important to always proceed with caution when lighting a campfire. However, the tables can be turned. Light a campfire to lure enemies to your position, hide, and then take out the opponents from ambush.
Watch your tracks
Since a large part of the scenario takes place in deep snow, you leave footprints. These also reveal where you are. Enemies simply follow the tracks in the snow and can track you down. However, it is also possible to lure enemies into an ambush with a false trail.
Even when you craft something, you leave traces. Other players then get a notification that you crafted something at that location. You can also learn the position of your enemies by conducting a holographic search in the huts in the area.
So in The Darwin Project, it is necessary to be even more careful and tactical than in other battle royale games.
In the US version of the MMORPG TERA there seems to have been a huge security gap for years. Now, it has been made public by clever players. The chat is currently disabled.
Apparently, it has been possible for years to abuse the general chat of TERA to send malware. A group of players has discovered that there was a catastrophic vulnerability.
This vulnerability could have been exploited by malicious individuals for all sorts of nefarious deeds, such as obtaining players’ IP addresses and then remotely triggering viruses or other malware.
Chat temporarily disabled – Developers learned of the gap on Reddit
The US operator of TERA, En Masse, has reacted to this discovery and temporarily disabled the chat in TERA. All chat functions except for guild chats are currently suspended.
In a statement, En Masse said: They learned about this vulnerability, like most users, through the official Discord and through a post on the subreddit. The developers were immediately notified about this vulnerability, and they addressed the issue with the utmost urgency.
Allegedly, no one exploited this gap for nefarious purposes
They take the risks of this vulnerability seriously, but currently, there is no evidence that anyone has exploited this vulnerability and user data has been compromised.
The public discussion surrounding this vulnerability in TERA’s community forums has some spicy elements: There is a disagreement in the forums about how much of the technical details may be made public. Posts have been deleted and accounts banned, out of fear that someone might distribute instructions on how to exploit the vulnerability.
The thanks from En Masse to the community is more directed towards the moderators and community ambassadors, who forwarded and then deleted the post, rather than to the finders of the vulnerability itself.
It is reasonable to assume: En Masse would have preferred if this vulnerability had not been posted in forums but rather communicated to them privately.
If you dare to venture into TERA despite all the problems, we recommend these guides for starting out:
A large survey was conducted on Reddit about Destiny 2. We have the results for you and how the game compares to its predecessor.
User SamHPL1 recently started a large-scale survey on Reddit, which aims to shed light on the gaming experience of Destiny 2, as well as the differences and similarities between Destiny 2 and Destiny 1. Almost 12,000 Guardians participated in this survey – so it certainly has weight.
Destiny 2: Gameplay top – Endgame and Customizing flop
The Guardians were asked about certain aspects of Destiny 2 and were allowed to rate them on a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the maximum value. The following topics were rated:
The campaign was rated with an average of 6.77. Only 100 people chose the worst value of 1.
The sound, as well as the graphics and design of the game world were each rated with an average of 9 points. This is a strong value and highlights what Bungie did right in Destiny 2.
The Strikes (5.62), Lost Sectors and Adventures (5.81), as well as the social hubs (5.42) received less favorable ratings in the game. The Leviathan Raid is rated with an average score of 6.61. The patrol areas also perform decently with 6.99.
The endgame and individual customizing options received the lowest ratings of 4.13 and 4.03, respectively. Weapons and armor also did not fare well with a score of 5.10.
A nuanced picture emerges from the PvP of Destiny 2. The average score is 5.05 points. Remarkably, 7 was the most frequently chosen answer, closely followed by 1. This shows how divided the community is regarding the multiplayer mode. By the way, the rarest response was the best score of 10.
At the end of the first part of the survey, all Guardians were asked to rate Destiny 2 as a whole. The result was an average score of 6.55. This is still better than the user ratings on Metacritic (5.5 for PS4 players, 4.3 for PC players).
The Redditor, however, did not want to look at Destiny 2 separately, but also wanted to make a comparison with the predecessor. However, the survey results should be taken with caution, after all, Destiny 1 offered significantly more content by the end compared to Destiny 2 as it stands now. From this survey, we pick out some highlights again:
The most popular campaign was the Year 2 expansion “The Taken King” with more than 50% of the votes. In second place is the story of Destiny 2 with 24.1%. The least liked is the “campaign” of Darkness Awaits.
When asked about the better gameplay mechanics, Destiny 1 leads with 42.4% agreement. 34.9% believe both games are equally good, while only 22.8% of players think the gameplay in Destiny 2 is better.
The question of the better weapon system can be clearly answered in favor of Destiny 1. The design of primary, special, and heavy weapons appeals significantly more to players. Two-thirds consider Destiny 1 to have the better game regarding the weapon system.
Who has the better/more interesting locations? This question is won by Destiny 2 with Nessus (22.4%) and the EDZ on Earth with 22.1%. In third place is the Tomb Ship from Destiny 1. The least liked location overall is Mars from Destiny 1.
The best social hub is also delivered by Destiny 2. With more than 35% of the votes, the Tower comes in first, followed by the Tower from the predecessor with 29%.
The best strike from both Destiny installments is, according to the community, the Sunless Cell around Alak-Hul from Destiny 1. 19% chose this strike. In second place is the Pyramidion from Destiny 2 with 15.6% of the votes.
The answer to the question of the best raid of all time was not surprising. Many Guardians still consider the Vault of Glass to be the best raid, followed by Kingsfall and Wrath of the Machine. The Leviathan Raid comes in fourth, ahead of Crota’s End.
The question of the best PvP mode also takes into account the various balance changes that Bungie made throughout Destiny 1. For most Guardians, the Crucible during The Taken King represents the best experience, followed by Destiny 2.
When asked about the best crucible in general, Destiny 1 wins overwhelmingly with 81.8%. The most popular game mode in multiplayer is Control (35.5%), and the best PvP event is Iron Banner during Destiny 1. The Iron Banner of Destiny 2 finishes last in this category.
All about gear and classes
This category deals with weapons and the mechanics of the subclasses of each class. Across the board, Destiny 1 takes the lead:
In response to the question about the best gear overall, an overwhelming majority voted for Destiny 1 (90.2%). Most Guardians also preferred the rerolling of weapons in Destiny 1 (54.7%). The weapon system with fixed rolls from Destiny 2 was favored by nearly 24% of all voters.
Most (80%) preferred the subclass system in Destiny 1.
The question about endgame also went clearly to Destiny 1 (90.2%). However, it should be noted that Destiny 1 offered significantly more content due to various expansions.
The best raid of all time – The Vault of Glass
The final question about which game is better overall was won by Destiny 1 with more than 70% of the votes.
The survey confirms what many Guardians have complained about Destiny 2 in recent weeks. Lack of customization options and too little endgame content are gnawing at players’ motivation.
Battle Royale games are currently popular, which is why many developers want to get involved: Also Crytek with the online shooter Warface.
PUBG has shown how successful battle royale can be. And after Epic Games with Fortnite, Crytek is now also entering this area. The online shooter Warface from 2013 will receive a battle royale mode with the upcoming update.
Battle Royale Test in the Desert
The new mode will initially be introduced in a test phase to allow developers to gather player feedback. This feedback will then be implemented to improve the mode before it is officially integrated.
Some of the international versions of the game have already received the map that is intended for the battle royale mode. This is a large desert area, which according to Crytek is the largest map that has been developed for the shooter thus far.
Only 16 Players
Players spawn at random positions on the map, which then shrinks over time. Loot is also distributed randomly. According to current information, the battle royale mode is designed for 16 players, which is significantly fewer than the 100 that battle in PUBG. Whether this number is final or only used for testing purposes is not yet determined.
At this point in time, it is still unclear when the battle royale update for Warface will be released. Also, how long the test phase is supposed to last is not known. Since Warface has not yet been able to celebrate great success, the new mode is likely necessary to attract players to Crytek’s shooter.

We are currently experiencing a new era of microtransactions. The monetization strategy of Electronic Arts with Star Wars Battlefront 2 is provoking strong reactions.
The situation is dire at Electronic Arts – it is truly on fire. Over the weekend, the community of Star Wars Battlefront 2 attempted to ignite a shitstorm, called for boycotts and protests, and rallied against EA.
Fierce reactions against new cash methods
Because players have realized what this new Star Wars Battlefront 2 is really about: It’s a new era of payment models. A full-price title with progress and unlock systems typically seen only in free-to-play titles. Players are fiercely resisting and trying to make their protests visible.
Attempts by EA to quell the fire of outrage only fueled it further.
A community developer dared to send out a tweet: Those who are complaining are “armchair developers”, meaning people who discuss a job they know nothing about. The tweet received angry responses and was deleted shortly thereafter.
What EA has told investors is now becoming reality
Electronic Arts is trying to transfer its monetization models from the FIFA and Madden games to the shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2.
This was announced a long time ago; they repeatedly told the investors: We make a ton of money with booster packs in FIFA and Madden’s Ultimate Teams – we want to do the same with Battlefront and Battlefield.
The shooters are intended to be games that are played over a longer period and earn money longer than just at release.
In practice, this means for Star Wars Battlefront II that EA:
is releasing a full-price title
is giving out DLCs and updates for free to keep the community together
but is introducing loot boxes that affect gameplay
additionally, players cannot access everything from the start, but must unlock certain features through persistent play – this is intended to ensure that players stay with a title longer
Is the future of gaming being decided with Star Wars Battlefront 2?
In sports games like FIFA and Madden, such methods have become somewhat accepted. While in FIFA you can play as Cristiano Ronaldo right from the beginning, although not in every mode. In Star Wars Battlefront 2, you must unlock Darth Vader first. Fans do not like this at all.
In any case, it provokes strong reactions to transfer these systems to Star Wars Battlefront 2.
It will be interesting to see how this battle between fans and Electronic Arts develops. Many gamers feel that the gaming industry is pushing boundaries, and they are fiercely resisting it.
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
Anyone who plays World of Warcraft has to accept a shrinkage of the brain. Don’t you believe it? This study wants to prove it.
Video games are seen in a bad light in the German public. There are still many prejudices that video games make you aggressive and stupid. But there is little evidence for this. Numerous studies come to very different conclusions, and long-term studies are still rare.
Nonetheless, it is an area that still occupies researchers. A new study from the University of Ulm has now dealt with the effects of World of Warcraft on the brain development of players.
In a study lasting six weeks, the researchers examined the brains of 119 participants.
41 people were players with extensive gaming experience
78 people were “game beginners”. The “game beginners” were again divided into two groups:
One half was to play World of Warcraft for one hour every day.
The other half was not to play.
At the beginning and end of the study, an MRI scan was performed, and the various brain regions of the participants were examined.
Gaming causes a brain area to shrink
The result of the study: In gamers, the gray matter in the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) decreases. This area is located in the frontal lobe of the brain and has special significance for emotional control and decision-making.
From the researchers’ perspective, it is “alarming” that these differences can already be observed after six weeks of playing World of Warcraft for one hour daily.
The researchers also believe that the reduced OFC volume is not a prerequisite for video game addiction but rather a consequence of online gaming. This would mean that gaming itself causes corresponding areas in the brain to deteriorate, which then leads to a greater susceptibility to addiction. However, this needs to be proven in further studies.
World of Warcraft was chosen for the study because it is considered particularly popular and “viewed by critics as particularly relevant in relation to video game addiction”.
What do you think of this study? Do you believe that World of Warcraft influences decision-making and the risk of addiction in the brain?
A Polish player of EVE Online wanted to commit suicide – but the global community of the MMORPG sent help in time.
The Polish police authorities report in a press release, visibly astonished by what happened on the morning of November 5th. The Polish police were alerted by the Interpol office in Reykjavik and the Interpol office in Wiesbaden and deployed to save a young man’s life.
Chat messages and livestream alarm concerned players
Apparently, a 28-year-old Pole decided to take his life after facing severe setbacks in EVE Online. He announced this via chat messages in the game. In a livestream, he is also said to have threatened to kill himself. To this end, he allegedly ingested a large quantity of pills.
Concerned players then contacted the customer support of EVE Online, which is based in Reykjavik and apparently informed Interpol. Additionally, a woman from Germany is reported to have watched the livestream and informed the German authorities that a man was planning to commit suicide.
As a result, the authorities were alerted, Interpol intervened, and the warning reached the Polish police. They proceeded to the village where the 28-year-old lives.
There, the police entered the potential suicide victim’s parental home. The parents were unaware of how their son was doing. In his room, they discovered an empty pill bottle. They found the man outside the house. He stated that he wanted to commit suicide by overdosing on medication.
The police handed him over to the emergency medical staff just in time. His condition is no longer life-threatening. According to the information from the Polish police, he is now in the care of his family.
EVE Online players saved a life
The Polish authorities commend that players in a virtual world do not turn a blind eye to the problems of the real world. Thanks to the reactions from the internet, the swift flow of information from Interpol, and the quick action of the police, a life was saved.
Is this the best Warlock build in Destiny 2? It’s said to be “most overpowered” – in PvE and PvP.
If you plan to switch to the Warlock class soon, or if you’ve been playing Warlock for weeks but haven’t found a strong build yet, you can try this one out.
This Warlock build is presented by JumpinProduction in the video. It’s considered the “Most Overpowered Warlock Build”, which provides extremely short ability cooldowns and is useful in both PvE and PvP. Especially in PvE, it’s top-notch:

Choose the Voidwalker subclass along with the lower skill “Devour”. This is considered one of the best skill sets in the game. The special feature is the perk “Devour”. When you defeat an enemy with your melee attack, it refills health and activates the Devour effect. This lasts several seconds and causes every additional kill to regenerate health.
Additional perks ensure that Devour lasts longer and kills recharge grenades. The grenade energy can then be used to reactivate Devour. If done skillfully, the Devour effect can be active indefinitely, making it nearly impossible to defeat.
The Vortex Grenade is used as a grenade. This continuously drains life from enemies trapped in the vortex. The Axion Bolt Grenade is also recommended here. Also, take the Healing Rift.
Note: You can also use the upper skill Chaos Reach. Both are good for the build. However, the Devour keeps you alive better.
The exotic helmet “Nezareks Sin”
The most important “ingredient” for this build is the exotic helmet Nezareks Sin. You can obtain it randomly from any source that can drop exotic engrams. Xur can also bring the helmet.
Nezareks Sin has the special perk that Void kills accelerate ability recharge. Void kills not only refer to ability kills of the Voidwalker but also to kills with energy and power weapons. In other words, every Warlock subclass, not just the Voidwalker, can benefit from this helmet. Therefore, Nezareks Sin is currently considered one of the best exotics in the game.
For the Helmet, equip a mod that speeds up grenade recharge when using a Void subclass.
For the Gauntlets, equip a mod that speeds up grenade recharge when using a Void subclass.
For the Chest Armor, use a mod that reduces recoil of kinetic weapons. This is not essential for the build.
For the Leg Armor and the Class Item, you can use mods that improve recovery.
Overall, the Guardian has 1 Mobility, 4 Resilience, and 10 Recovery.
The weapons:
The kinetic weapon is not crucial for the build. The Guardian chooses the MIDA Multi-Tool.
The energy weapon, however, is crucial. Here, the Guardian takes the The Claw, the auto rifle from the Trials of the Nine. But you can also take Uriel’s Gift. The main thing is that the gun deals Void damage.
As a power weapon, a Void sword is recommended, such as the raid sword “She Stared Back”.
How Do I Play This Build?
The application of the build is simple: Grab your energy weapon, shoot at the enemies, and make use of your abilities, especially the grenades that are frequently available to you.
With the Devour effect, you can slice through enemies aggressively and still stay alive. Take a Void sword that allows for quick kills, and with each kill, you’ll be instantly recharged – while also regenerating your abilities.
In short: If you play as a Warlock, you should definitely try out this character setup.
Currently, a number is making fans of the online shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2 nervous. According to a player, it takes about 40 hours to unlock powerful heroes like Luke Skywalker or villains like Darth Vader.
Reddit user TheHotterPotato calculated how long it takes to unlock Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader in Star Wars Battlefront 2. These powerful icons cost 60,000 credits, which must first be earned. His calculations are based on the following thoughts and numbers:
Average duration of a Galactic Assault match: 11:09
Average credits earned per match: 275
Average credits earned per game minute: 25.04
Game minutes needed to earn a Trooper loot box: 159.73
Game minutes needed to unlock a hero: 2,395.97
Players angry – EA responds
These numbers are based on the EA Access version of the game, which has been playable since November 9. It takes about 40 hours to unlock a powerful hero. You can read more accurate numbers in this spreadsheet.
TheHotterPotato also indicates that he did not include the bonus credits for challenges. He only wanted to show what the first week of gameplay looks like when tackling only the simple challenges.
These data have now caused significant criticism within the community: The fire burned brightly over the weekend.
Electronic Arts has taken note of this criticism.
Adjustments to follow, challenges are to remain
EA is trying to soothe the players and explains that they used data from the open beta to determine the daily rate of how many credits players can earn per day. This has been expanded with their own adjustments.
The team intends to make further changes to provide players with a good gameplay experience. Challenges and rewards should motivate players to want to unlock everything in the game. It is also important that everything can be unlocked directly in the game.
Players should be proud of what they achieve
Another player explained that he spent 80 dollars on the game and now cannot play Darth Vader.
In response, EA stated that players should be proud of the heroes they have unlocked or purchased. However, the developers will constantly monitor the title and make adjustments if necessary.
These statements, however, have not led to calming the community. Players are still expressing criticism and showing their displeasure. The statements regarding “Darth Vader” have set downvote records. The community is trying to persuade Electronic Arts to rethink with all means, calling for protests and boycotts.
Having a fixed “Main” can lead to a ban in Overwatch . At least that is currently being discussed.
Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch is not only famous for its global success but also notorious for its problems with the toxic community. Players repeatedly cross the line and are often punished with “Reports” from their teammates. These, when repeated, can lead to an account suspension.
But what exactly can lead to an account suspension? Mean language in chat, inactivity – but also playing a certain character?
Actually, that shouldn’t be the case, as Blizzard confirmed on Twitter a few months ago.

In the last few days, there have been some wild discussions on Reddit, because Blizzard apparently banned two players who played only Torbjörn all day. Regardless of whether this led to a good team composition or whether their teammates complained.
What came out late: Both players refused to participate in matches after other teammates “took away” their Torbjörn. As a result, they received a lot of reports from their teammates and appropriate account penalties.
Blizzard Causes Confusion
The topic was heatedly discussed in the official forum. Since it was assumed that the players were banned for their “only Torbjörn” attitude, a statement from Blizzard was requested. This only further escalated the situation.
In the forum, the Community Manager Josh Engen sounds as if one must always comply with the wishes of the team. After all, one of Blizzard’s mantras is “Play nice; Play fair”. Engen said:
“Players often focus on the ‘Play fair’ part, but forget the ‘Play nice’. Sometimes that means switching heroes when the team wants it and sometimes it means adapting to your own team.”
Thus, Blizzard’s rule does not seem so clear after all. A final statement is still pending, but the community is dissatisfied with this form of statement. It is said to be vague and nobody now knows exactly what is allowed.
“It’s best to only play the 6 heroes that currently make up the current meta,” it is said with some sarcasm between the lines.
What do you think of this attitude? Should players be punished for always playing a certain character? Or should everyone always be allowed to play what they want?
The developers of the new WoW expansion Battle for Azeroth are talking about a start date for the beta. We reveal when the beta launch for Battle for Azeroth could be.
About a week ago, the next expansion for Blizzard’s MMORPG was revealed. World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth takes players into the “new old” conflict between Alliance and Horde, who fight for supremacy at sea while completely laying waste to major cities.
After the first gameplay trailer and the opening cinematic were presented at BlizzCon, one question quickly arose: When can you play Battle for Azeroth? When does the beta start?
Since there were already plenty of showcase zones and even a playable demo on site at BlizzCon, many fans assumed that the beta would start in 2017 – around Christmas. But that Christmas wish will likely go unfulfilled (or fall into the snow).

There is still no release date for Battle for Azeroth. The developers have only stated their plan to release the expansion “in 2018” – but anything else would have been surprising.
Are you excited for the Battle for Azeroth beta? Or would you rather not be spoiled and wait for the official launch?
The new Harry Potter game is not intended to interfere with Pokémon GO. Niantic plans improvements that will be announced this week.
With good news from Niantic, we start the new week. In a blog post, the developers of the mobile hit “Pokémon GO” explain that the game will soon receive changes. Other Niantic games should not be disadvantaged due to the development of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
No need to worry – improvements are on the way
In recent days, there has been unrest in the Pokémon GO community. The reasons for this were not only known issues in Pokémon GO but also the announcement of another title from Niantic.
The developers now want to focus on the Harry Potter franchise and create a magical mobile world. However, Pokémon fans have concerns about this.
Niantic now states that fans have no reason to worry. Pokémon GO still holds a particularly high value for them. In a blog post, the development team writes:
Trainers, just like many of you, we are looking forward to the new “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” game. We are working closely with our partners at Warner Bros. to bring this game to life.
Nevertheless, we, the Pokémon GO development team, want to assure you that we are 100% committed to creating a constantly evolving game world. Trainers should explore the environment, meet other players, and deepen their connection to the Pokémon universe.
We are actively expanding the development team to develop many great features in 2018.
They also write that there should be an announcement this week explaining the improvements for specific features.
Reassurance for fans? What improvements?
This announcement at least clarifies that the Harry Potter project will not interfere with Pokémon GO. This should reassure some fans who feared an overlap between the two projects.
But what improvements does Niantic want to bring? We hope that the developers have noticed the mood in the community and want to make some changes to the EX Raids. The invitation system for these special raids seems chaotic and repeatedly causes frustration among fans who are excluded from these raids.
In which areas of Pokémon GO do you want improvements? Finally a better system for rural players? Different raid times? Let us know in the comments.

World of Warcraft is now bot-free – well, at least a bit. A major provider of cheating software from Germany is finally throwing in the towel.
Honorbuddy was one of the most well-known bot software for World of Warcraft. Initially, it was mainly used to farm honor in PvP battlegrounds without actually participating in the events. Over the years, however, this service was expanded further so that other processes, such as farming herbs and ores, were also automated.
The bots caused several problems:
They took resources from honest players right under their noses.
They disrupted the economy of a server.
They provided users with an unfair advantage.
The fight against Honorbuddy and the German provider Bossland lasted several years and repeatedly occupied the courts.
It was an endless back and forth. The developers of Honorbuddy tried to make their software undetectable, and Blizzard, in return, tried to expose the users.
A few days ago, a major ban wave occurred. Numerous users of Honorbuddy were banned. Not just the individual WoW account, but all WoW accounts linked to the Battle.net account.
Bossland stops operation of Honorbuddy
Now Bossland has officially thrown in the towel.
In the provider’s forum, it was announced that Honorbuddy will no longer be developed, after a “more than six-year legal battle that ultimately turned into a battlefield for hackers on Blizzard’s part.”
The reason for this is likely new lines of code in WoW and the Battle.net software that can no longer be easily read. Blizzard’s developers seem to have succeeded in developing a reliable method that automatically recognizes bot users after only a few minutes and then disables the corresponding accounts.
Bossland will also no longer develop bots for Hearthstone and SWTOR.
Thus, at least one of the major bot dealers in World of Warcraft has disappeared from the market.
What do you think about it? Is it good that Bossland is giving up? Or will it only take a few days until someone new steps into their place?
