No role-playing game without skills. Also in the PvP MMORPG Crowfall, you improve your hero through skills, but the system works a little differently than you might be used to from many MMOs.
In Crowfall skills train passively – whether you are playing or not. Additionally, skills improve per account and not per character. This means: If you decide to train your crafting skills, all characters of an account benefit from this.
Skills are divided into three categories: Profession, Race, and Class
Profession includes skills from the areas of Combat, Crafting, and Exploration
Race offers skills from the areas of Mankind, Sylvan, and Monster
Class includes skills for Fighter, Mage, and Rogue
From each category, you select a primary skill area you want to train. As a non-VIP player, you can accumulate skill points for 72 hours, while VIP players can do so for 30 days. Non-VIPs must log in more frequently to distribute skill points
As a VIP player, it is also possible to train a second area
Regardless of whether you are playing or not, you accumulate skill points. The skill area that you have activated automatically receives the accumulated points
Here’s how you train your skills:
The skill points you have accumulated in the categories are then allocated to the skills
It is not possible to improve skills that do not belong to the trained area
So if you have set to train the “Combat” area, the accumulated skill points can only be distributed to combat skills
Using a skill tree in each area, you then determine which skills you want to improve
Skills are improved in so-called “Pips”. There are a total of five pips per skill. It always costs a certain number of skill points to get another pip. Pips determine how strong a skill is
Tactical approach:
You always need to decide which skills you want to train
Since passive points are collected, you should always determine which skill area should receive points before logging out
After logging in, you first allocate your points to the skills
Think tactically about which skills you want to train
The skill system of Crowfall is therefore set up somewhat differently than many other MMORPGs handle it. You need to think tactically and can even improve while not playing.
Another batch of crazy mounts from the alpha of WoW: Battle for Azeroth. Check out the War Hippopotamus and the Beast of the Blood Trolls here!
With Battle for Azeroth, World of Warcraft receives a lot of new features. In addition to new continents and dungeons, there is a major focus on collectible items. The most coveted of these items are the mounts – and there are likely more of them in the new expansion than ever before.
In the past, we have shown you many cool new mounts:
Judging by the name, the Vicious War Hippo is a new PvP mount that can likely be earned by completing rated battlegrounds. If you don’t want to miss out on this mount, be sure to plan some rounds in the battlefields of Azeroth with a coordinated group – or just pay other players with gold for it.
Gross Creatures of the Blood Trolls
Clearly more horrifying is a new mount that can presumably be obtained from the Blood Trolls. The Underrot Crawg walks on two legs, has only a tail, and a huge mouth full of all kinds of teeth – not a creature one wants to encounter in the dark. The mount has been found in the game data in four different color variations, though it’s still uncertain whether all of them will be available.

In Fortnite, the cult of personality around the Twitch streamer Ninja is taking on new dimensions. He has once again broken the viewer record on Twitch. This time without the help of rapper Drake, but with a kind of Saturday night show in Las Vegas.
“Well,” one might have said back then: Ninja had help. After all, in March he played several rounds of Fortnite with the mega-popular rapper Drake.
But now Ninja set a new record over the weekend, completely without rapper help. However: This was not a typical Saturday night Fortnite stream.
A kind of charity tournament breaks the Twitch record
As reported by Forbes, Ninja streamed at a Fortnite live event in the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas and reached over 680,000 viewers at its peak.
The event was somewhat of a: eSports meets entertainment with Fortnite as the backdrop.
Ninja played three rounds of three games with fans and other top Fortnite players, totaling nine Battle Royale rounds. In total, there was $50,000 in cash and some prizes up for grabs. For a win, there was $2,500 (about €2,034) and $2,500 for anyone who managed to eliminate Ninja.

Ninja himself, clearly the star of the evening, only won one game out of the nine. The money went to an Alzheimer’s charity.
14-year-olds and unknowns with victories
Forbes notes that some of the top Fortnite players were flown in specifically to participate in the event. Among them were Dr. Lupo and TSM_Myth.
However, the favorites, apart from Ninja, didn’t win any games. The victories went to others. An unknown player named “Blind” won the first two matches in a row. A 14-year-old secured the victory in the penultimate game.
TSM_Myth has a rough evening but contributes to the record

Especially TSM_Myth, who is considered one of the best and most popular Fortnite players in the world, seemed to have an unfortunate evening and couldn’t leave a lasting impression in the three rounds he played.
However, he surely contributed to the fact that Twitch streamer Ninja reached so many viewers. For most of the time, the viewer count was between 400,000 and 500,000, but when Myth came on towards the end, the numbers shot up, reaching the new Twitch record. Although Twitch has not officially confirmed this yet.
Significantly more defensive gameplay
However, the style of play that evening was different from the usual style.
Gamers instead of boxers – Vegas wants to become a gamer mecca
It’s no coincidence that this event took place in Las Vegas. For some time, the gambling metropolis of the world has been trying to focus more on eSports and gaming. With gaming events that have a show character, they aim to attract a younger audience and draw them to the traditional “gambler trip to Vegas.”
The eSports Arena Las Vegas in the famous Luxor Hotel is probably the focus of this strategy. The arena opened at the end of March 2018.
In the past, Vegas attracted an audience with boxing matches and artists. In the future, the attraction could be a gamer like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

Concrete details about the content of the recently held community summit by Bungie are still scarce. Insiders remain vague about the future of Destiny 2. But this could become their downfall. A misunderstood statement from a well-known YouTuber shows the tough situation the community representatives currently find themselves in.
Recently, the two-day community summit ended. There, the creators of Destiny 2 and distinguished representatives of the community discussed upcoming content and the future direction of the game. The now weary and disappointed fans cling to their last hopes that the course for the future of Destiny 2 has now been decisively set.
For even the most loyal Guardians, the major autumn expansion for Destiny 2 represents Bungie’s last chance to steer the game back on track. This places the summit participants in a precarious situation: As few mere mortals, they now know how the future of Destiny 2 looks. The entire community is hanging on their lips.
Yet every one of their few words is weighed carefully.
Additionally, their vague statements leave a lot of room for fan interpretations. However, these often hear only what they want to hear.
Well-known YouTuber already has to publicly justify himself
The well-known YouTuber KingGothalion shared in a recent stream about his conversation with Bungie’s community manager DeeJ during the summit. Gothalion supposedly mentioned how many employees are working on content for Destiny 2.
Only a few hours later, it was read on Reddit: The overwhelming majority of Bungie employees are now said to have been taken off their current tasks and assigned as additional reinforcements to the active team working on Destiny 2.
The author of the post still insists that Gothalion said exactly that. However, the video of the YouTuber, which he linked as proof, is no longer accessible and has apparently been deleted – presumably to avoid potential issues with the ongoing embargo.
Whether this statement was actually made in this or a similar form can no longer be said with certainty. Gothalion himself denies this statement at least and publicly justifies himself on Twitter.

According to his words, he only spoke about how many employees are working at Bungie on content for Destiny 2 and not just on the next big thing. Some fans may have misinterpreted that. It is not easy to find the right words in this situation, and people should not read too much into it.
Being chosen is not easy
Ultimately, who is right is irrelevant.
Rather, such situations show that the role of the chosen one brings not only advantages and accolades. The now initiated community representatives are under enormous pressure and are walking a very fine line between Bungie, which provides them with information, and the community, which they ultimately must represent and keep satisfied.
On the one hand, they are now somewhat obligated to the studio and must strictly adhere to the imposed information embargo. As a few people outside the studio, they now know about the future of Destiny 2 thanks to Bungie.
On the other hand, their limited potential statements also carry potential inconveniences and enormous conflict potential. Through situations like that of Gothalion, those involved can quickly alienate both the community and their own fans as well as Bungie.
If they reveal too much, they risk trouble with Bungie. If they only speak vaguely, it leaves too much room for fan interpretations. In such a case, backpedaling or trying to wriggle out can result in a massive loss of credibility and followers. Thus, their very existence can quickly be at stake.
Even though many fans may see it differently – the summit participants cannot be envied for their current situation – and this likely for the next 4 months.
The hopes of the fans are still alive
The general situation after the community summit is, however, good. Most fans show understanding for the still scarce words of the participants, but currently view their statements with a bit more hope for the future of Destiny 2.
For the fundamental conclusion of the summit participants indeed gives the fans some reason for hope. The community representatives agree after the summit – if Bungie implements the feedback and their own plans as discussed during the meeting for the fall, then this will most likely be the turning point for the beleaguered game.
Bungie also remains combative. A recent tweet from game director Chris Barrett, who is not necessarily known for throwing around empty words, suggests that Bungie is doing a lot to reconcile with the fans this autumn. He quotes from the Books of Sorrow: “And if I fail, let me be thrown to the Leviathan in the deep for food.”
In World of Warcraft, the barber is expanding his range of services. Changing skin color will soon also fall under his services.
The latest patch of Battle for Azeroth is likely to please players of World of Warcraft, as the barber is getting a new area of responsibility. In addition to adjusting hairstyles, beards, piercings, or tattoos, there is currently another function: adjusting skin color.
Those who wish can soon give their character a new skin tone via the barber. Winter is over and the pale mage’s face is seeing some sun? Just head to the barber! The same applies to anything that counts as skin – for example, the furs of the pandas, taurens, or worgen.
The barber’s tasks were already changed in a previous update. Because in addition to adjusting skin color, they can also straighten crooked spines and thereby allow orcs to walk upright!
No more duckface for blood elves
But there are more changes that will likely please players of male blood elves quite a bit.
Since the new character models in Warlords of Draenor, players of the blood elves have voiced numerous complaints that the faces look a bit “silly” – as if they were always making their best “duckface” for the camera.
Left the new face, right the old face. Image source: mmo-champion
On Reddit, some players even joke that the elimination of the duckface is a “fair trade” for losing what is probably the most powerful racial ability in the game.
Please keep in mind that both adjustments are based on information from the Alpha and may change before the release in August.
What do you think about these two changes? Do you think it’s good that you can now also change skin color at the barber? How do you like the adjustments to the faces of the blood elves?
Kritika Online is a small MMORPG that resembles a mix between Dungeon Crawler and Beat ’em Up. The developers have now released an update with a new storyline for the online game.
Even if Kritika Online may go unnoticed by many players, fans have a lot of fun with it. The recent reviews on Steam are very positive. Fans especially note that the game plays very easily and quickly and is something you can enjoy in between. It is thus aimed more at casual players who prefer uncomplicated action.
The story continues
And this fanbase can now look forward to new content. The development team has released a larger update called “Windhome”. This includes:
Start of the new Windhome storyline
The story “Skyship Arcadia” is concluded with two new contents “Centrag Deck” and “Titan’s Rage”
Explore the new region Windhome
You will learn more about Kirenos’ past and uncover some secrets
Fight through the new zones “Yacharu Den”, “Dunnog’s Den”, “Stone Temple” and “Inner Stone Temple”
Find new equipment
Level up to even higher levels – The level cap has been raised to 70
New challenges “Eeri’s Library” and “Ultimate Danger Zone” grant you the “Dusk” equipment, which allows you to enhance your abilities through the Prime Attribute System
With the “Windhome” update, you will have a lot of new things to do. Especially the continuation of the story should be of interest to the fans.
In Fortnite Battle Royale, developer Epic has announced a competition – the Boogie-Down Contest. But fans are unhappy with the winners. Many are also not pleased with the new emote that will be coming to Fortnite. And somehow, YouTube star PewDiePie is behind it.
Epic recently announced a fan competition. The short version: “Dance how you would dance in the game. There are prizes, and we will bring the best emote into the game.” The dances and gestures of Fortnite are quite popular. Even professional athletes are using them nowadays.
There is a strong allure that an original emote could find its way into the game. Additionally, Epic is tempting with a ton of V-Bucks, the premium currency of the game.
Epic said that the dances should
be fun
creative
and original.
Based on these criteria, Epic would select a winner.
Star YouTuber PewDiePie mocks the competition
Already two weeks ago, the somewhat strange competition was in the crosshairs of the mocking YouTube star PewDiePie. He has a bit of a contentious relationship with Fortnite. It seems to annoy him that Fortnite is such a hype game that many who have nothing to do with gaming jump on it, including the Logan brothers. And somehow, Fortnite seems too commercial to him, or PewDiePie is just annoyed that for once it’s not about him on YouTube. It’s hard to say.
PewDiePie was particularly amused by the #Boogiedown competition itself because
no music could be played – people are dancing without music for legal reasons
and that many teenagers are sending in their videos, some of whom are not exactly in top physical shape or are extremely shy
However, PewDiePie somewhat defends the kids: Any dancer would look ridiculous without music and effects. However, that doesn’t stop him from enjoying the children.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8sIW0gSgJ4
The video in which PewDiePie essentially mocked “fat or shy kids dancing” reached over 5 million views on YouTube.
The actual announcement video for #BoogieDown from Fortnite only reached a measly 1.8 million views.
These are the 5 winning emotes, the first place will even come to Fortnite
The competition has now concluded over the weekend, and these 5 fan dances have won. They were chosen by Epic themselves.

Prizes include 10,000 V-Bucks for the top 10. Additionally, there are in-game trinkets. The top 5 will also receive a “real Boogie Bomb” from Epic. The winning emote will even be incorporated into the game.
Fans find the dances boring
On the internet platform Reddit, players are struggling with Epic’s selection. A much-discussed thread calls it “A truly sad day.”
Among them are comments from players saying:
Hopefully the winning dance is free, because no one is going to buy that crap
I swear the guy is just stomping on the damn ground and looks like a chicken
These dances are just boring. I thought something original would come that people would remember.
Surprisingly, fans do have a favorite. It is this submission from a child that begins with the words: “If this comes to the game, I will probably shit my pants.”

Many fans on Reddit are sure about World of Warcraft. In the Alpha of Battle for Azeroth, many quests are “fake” to mislead players.
With Battle for Azeroth, Blizzard aims to place a strong focus on the narrative in World of Warcraft. The war between the factions is supposed to be more than just a battle between “Good” and “Evil”, instead containing many shades of gray and appearing logical from both sides. However, the Alpha of Battle for Azeroth presents a different picture – here, the villain is clearly to be found on the side of the Horde.
Many users on Reddit now agree: What we see in the Alpha of Battle for Azeroth is fake in some parts, intended to mislead data miners.
Below are some spoilers regarding the controversial storyline of Battle for Azeroth – you have been warned.
The main criticism from many players is that established characters act completely “out of character” in Battle for Azeroth – that is, not according to their roles or previous views. There are many examples of this.
The first example is Lilian Voss. The Forsaken will know the undead since she appears in the starting area and is turned into an undead. Afterwards, she develops a fanatical hatred for all undead and slaughters through their ranks. This is seen repeatedly in Cataclysm, but also in Legion, where she accompanies Horde villains (the counterpart to Valeera Sanguinar for the Alliance) – here too, she kills undead constructs of the Legion.
In Battle for Azeroth, Lilian Voss appears and has clearly joined the Horde. She gives a fiery speech about how “the Kul Tirans should be shown what it means to make the Horde your enemy”. Furthermore, she uses necromancy herself to create the undead – something that the fanatical Lilian Voss of the past would have never done.
Sylvanas – From Banshee to All-Powerful Valkyr
One of the biggest points of criticism is Sylvanas. Blizzard has repeatedly emphasized that they do not want to establish Sylvanas as “purely evil” and that she is a complex character. However, the latest update of the Alpha paints a different picture of her. In the siege of Undercity, she sees her impending defeat. As a last desperate act, she unleashes the plague at the gates of the city, which swiftly takes down both Alliance supporters and Horde soldiers.
But her dark deeds do not end there. Subsequently, she resurrects all fallen soldiers as skeletons and lets them fight again – without the help of the Val’kyr. Sylvanas herself never had the power to simply create undead. This would be a strong break with her previous abilities.
Another problem: Only Varok (Orc) complains about this action by Sylvanas. Other leaders, such as Lor’themar (Blood Elves) and Baine (Tauren) do not speak up at all after their former soldiers were resurrected by Sylvanas.
This part of the story is particularly full of holes and contains many potential errors.
Throughout the Alpha, there are more points that we want to briefly mention, which also clearly contradict the established lore.
The Dark Iron Dwarves are tied to a Horde achievement (this could be a bug).
The Undead “Overseer Stillwater” is back in the game. He was killed in Hillsbrad and players even had to submit his head.
Saurfang states that he will never return to the Horde.
Garona boasts that she killed King Llane.
Tauren spread the undead plague.
All these breaks with the previously established lore, as well as the abilities and personalities of the characters, lead the community to conclude: Much in Battle for Azeroth is fake, so that data miners do not reveal the whole story.
This would also line up with what Blizzard and Christie Golden (one of the story writers) have hinted at – one should not believe everything in the Alpha.
Basically, there are only two possibilities: Blizzard is either putting a lot of effort into making some content “fake” or they are already ruining their relationship with the community.
It is possible that the book “Before the Storm” will also close the existing logical gaps and reveal new aspects of the characters that have not been shown before. However, this will not solve all problems.
On Reddit, the advice is: Trust no line of text in the Alpha that has not been voiced yet. The likelihood of “fake” content is high.
It is also suspected that many characters who currently appear to be “out of place”, such as Lilian Voss or Overseer Stillwater, will shortly before the release be replaced with their actual characters and provided with new text passages.
What do you think of the theory that many aspects of the story are temporary fakes, meant to confuse data miners and alpha players while keeping the details of the plot under wraps?
Fortnite is the game of the moment and currently even surpasses the former battle royale giant PUBG. But I don’t care. I can’t get into this whole battle royale madness and wish for the times when people talked about something else other than Drake and Ninja, comets, or Tilted Towers.
Fortnite. No topic gets my blood boiling like the current PvP hit. On all sides, the battle royale game is the topic – even here at Mein MMO. After the television also tried to tackle the topic recently, it became clear to me: There’s no escaping it.
The worst part: Fortnite is already getting on my nerves, even though I have never played it myself…
Accurate representation: While Schuhmann and Jürgen scream for more Fortnite articles, I’m hiding behind my desk
The whole world is crazy about Fortnite
Dear Fortnite readers, I can understand that you can’t get enough of the battle royale game at the moment. I also know the feeling of wanting to be informed all day about a beloved game, like during the heyday of Destiny or recently with Far Cry 5.
It was really terrible for me when the streamers on Twitch, through which I am passively entertained daily, seemingly unanimously decided to switch to Fortnite. Variety? Not a chance! Who am I supposed to distract myself from work with now?
It is also concerning that more and more developers are jumping on the battle royale bandwagon, but the players are also craving it. Recently, it was rumored that the next Battlefield might also get a battle royale mode.
Will we soon play nothing else?
This is all just stolen!
But what is the excitement about this wild activity? The battle royale approach is not new. Colorful hooters were also not invented by Epic Games. Hey Fortnite: Overwatch, Paladins, and Gigantic want to have a serious talk with you!
Even with the cosmetic content, which apparently holds a high value for Fortnite fanatics, developers hardly break a sweat. Whether floss dance, Jurassic Park, Halo, or John Wick: Epic Games freely borrows from pop culture, and the fans love it.
However, I only see a mix of already known elements in it. A pinch of PUBG, colorful and cuddly graphics, and building a la Minecraft, spiced with current memes. But maybe it is this mix of familiar elements that attracts the players, and I just don’t get it?
Why can’t I get into Fortnite?
Unlike my esteemed colleague Jürgen, I can hardly get into this cheerful battle royale game despite all the jokes and references.
While the hype around the direct competitor in the form of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds seemed to be a flash in the pan, Fortnite really makes itself comfortable and seems to spread its juice over everything that is dear to me.
My MMO? The Fortnite stronghold. Twitch? Fortnite-infested. My Destiny clan, with which I have been in contact for years and even played in The Division and Monster Hunter World? Completely beside themselves because of Fortnite!
I have often been tempted to swing the pickaxe myself and join my Fortnite zombie friends – just to play again with the old crew. However, the battle royale topic is slowly getting to my ears so much that it completely takes away my desire to try the shooter myself.
You all do your thing, I’ll do mine over here!
Dear Fortnite fans, I don’t want to forbid you to enjoy your favorite game all day long. However, please have a little compassion for the poor souls who are completely fed up with this hype.
Which camp do you belong to? Fortnite lovers or Fortnite skeptics? Can you understand my bad mood regarding Fortnite, or am I now out of your favor?
The next WoW expansion Battle for Azeroth brings not only new features like allied races but also modifies the already existing ones. Blizzard has now taken on the two most popular racial abilities – those of Humans and Blood Elves – in the latest Alpha build of BfA.
The focus of the new WoW expansion Battle for Azeroth is entirely on the races. Racial abilities are therefore an important part of the planning and development – including the already existing ones.
There have been complaints about two of them for a very long time, especially from PvP fans. The Arcane Torrent of the Blood Elves and Every Man for Himself from the Humans are a thorn in the side of many players.
The latest update of the Alpha of Battle for Azeroth has now revealed changes to exactly these racial abilities. Both have been weakened, with the Arcane Torrent being hit a bit harder:
Arcane Torrent
WoW: Legion: Silences all enemies within 8 meters for 2 seconds and restores part of your primary resource. Casting by non-player targets is also interrupted for 3 seconds. 1.5 minutes cooldown.
Battle for Azeroth Alpha: Removes 1 beneficial effect from all enemies within 8 meters and restores part of your primary resource. 1.5 minutes cooldown.
Every Man for Himself
WoW: Legion: Removes all stun effects. This effect shares a cooldown of 30 seconds with all other effects that behave similarly. 2 minutes cooldown.
Battle For Azeroth Alpha: Removes all stun effects. This effect shares a cooldown of 90 seconds with all other effects that behave similarly. 3 minutes cooldown.
With this change, Humans can no longer free themselves from control effects as frequently and are now more susceptible to stuns. This ability previously made them disproportionately strong against many classes.
Blood Elves, on the other hand, receive an effect similar to the Mass Dispel of Priests – however, they can no longer silence and interrupt opponents. This takes away a good part of the race’s danger in PvP.
The community has been calling in the forums for adjustments to these two racial abilities for a long time – what do you think? Do you find them appropriate, or were the nerfs unnecessary? Leave us a comment!
With the GeForce Partner Program, Nvidia continues to expand its market power and has since been under constant criticism. There are now new insights and legally relevant accusations from the Radeon chief at AMD.
The GPP promises partners exclusive information, deals, hardware, and additionally helps with marketing and sales. Since the official announcement, there have been some turbulences:
Kyle Bennett’s statements are increasingly proving to be accurate: Radeon graphics cards are being sold by MSI and Gigabyte under a different brand, and Asus is even rebranding to the unknown brand Arez for AMD cards
The European Commission and the Federal Trade Commission are investigating the GPP
And now the head of AMD graphics cards has also gone on the offensive. Graphics card manufacturers are said to have reached out to him at an event.
AMD and Journalist Kyle Bennett Intensify Criticism
In his two tweets, Scott Herkelman, head of the Radeon division, indirectly addressed recent rumors regarding Nvidia’s partner program at an AMD sales event in London:
Many of you have told me how our competition is trying to use incentives and allocations to restrict or block your ability to market and sell Radeon-based products as you and your customers wish. I wanted you to know that your voices have been heard, and I welcome anyone else who has had similar experiences to contact me. Together, we can ensure that gamers receive what they truly deserve: freedom of choice. (Translation via GameStar).
AMD and Nvidia hardly produce their own graphics cards, but mainly manufacture the chips that are used by other vendors for custom designs. These usually stand out through optimized modifications from the reference design. Third-party vendors, such as Asus, have specialized in manufacturing such GPUs for PCs. The more chips Asus receives, the more cards they can produce, and the higher their profit.
If one accuses Nvidia of allocation, it means that Nvidia takes advantage of this situation. For example, by granting fewer chips to companies that are not part of the GPP. As a result, these suffer financial damage. And the pressure to join the GPP increases.
This is reminiscent of the past machinations of “Intel Inside”, where allegedly financially driven exclusive contracts were made with Media Markt or Saturn to keep AMD out of the markets for years. For this, the European Union Court imposed a billion-dollar fine, which is still pending due to a renewed review. Is Nvidia now facing a similar fate?
Kyle Bennett Allegedly Has Evidence
Journalist Kyle Bennett, who set the whole story in motion with the help of AMD, reportedly received written confirmation from responsible parties that discounts and other incentives are only available if one joins the partner program. Initial statements from Nvidia that there are no monetary incentives or discounts for being a member of the GPP he referred to as clear lies in his blog HardOCP.
He also responded to the few accusations that he was receiving money from AMD to spread these untenable rumors. He denies this and suspects Nvidia as the initiator behind this action. However, he sees it as a lesser evil, as he is obviously not the only one who finds these actions strange. The noticeable silence from Nvidia confirms his suspicion: What happened to the statements that the GPP is so great for consumers?
In the official Nvidia blog, the partner program was introduced as a way to help gamers buy the right product.
What do you think of the so far unproven accusations?

Without warning, the PC version of the previously paid “Battle Royale” game Darwin Project has been switched to Free-to-Play. Some players are upset and wondering about the reasons for this step. We reveal what’s behind it.
The “Battle Royale” game Darwin Project from Scavengers Studio has been switched to the Free-to-Play model on PC – and all without much notice.
Many players are angry: Some bought the game that was still in Early Access just hours before the sudden switch. Others now fear that the developers have abandoned the game after making quick money.
Fans are uncertain and want to know: Why this step? Will there be compensation? And what about the Xbox One version? We have researched for you.
This is why Darwin Project is now Free-to-Play on PC
After launching the game on March 9, 2018, for 14.99 Euros as Early Access, it was spontaneously switched to the Free-to-Play model on PC on April 20. The developers justified this step with complaints from players regarding long waiting times in matchmaking and too few players.
In some regions, there apparently weren’t enough players to fill the servers with life. With the new Free-to-Play model, Darwin Project is now made more accessible and it is hoped to attract more players this way.
Therefore, Darwin Project has been released as Free-to-Play earlier than planned. Furthermore, Scavengers Studio assured that they have no intention of abandoning the active players and the many early supporters of the project. They will continue to work diligently on the project.
Is there compensation for previous buyers?
Buyers of the Early Access version will, according to the developers, receive the Founder’s Pack as compensation, which consists of two legendary sets, three legendary axes, three legendary bows, a full jumpsuit collection, and five other fan gifts.
In conjunction with the Major Customization Update, which will bring over 200 cosmetic items into the game on April 24, 2018, all affected players should also find their compensation in the inventory on that day.
What happens with the Xbox One version?
Regarding the future of the Xbox One version, which is also still in the “Early Access” phase and playable through Xbox Game Preview, there are no concrete details yet. However, the developers are aware of the concerns of Xbox players and will soon report on how the Xbox One version of Darwin Project will continue.
Sakura from Street Fighter V is coming soon to Monster Hunter World and you will have to face the Pink Rathian. This is what is known so far about the quest.
In Monster Hunter World, hunters were already able to obtain a set of armor for Ryu, the protagonist of the Street Fighter series. This armor led to a pure Hadouken invasion and was only the first part of the Street Fighter crossover. It has already been announced that the character Sakura will also be available as armor at a later date. Now the date for Sakura’s quest and the first details are known.
Sakura comes with a triple quest on May 4
Sakura made her first appearance in Street Fighter Alpha 2. She is a Japanese girl who idolizes the experienced fighter Ryu. She has learned many techniques from him and wants to prove herself in the big, wide world. Sakura receives, just like Ryu, a complete armor set that you can only equip as a whole. You cannot equip individual parts like the head or shoes.
For Sakura, you have to complete a total of three quests, but all three have the same conditions and requirements.
The Pink Rathian is a subspecies of Rathian, but has a more robust body and more health and attack power. She is more aggressive than the regular Rathian and possesses more attacks and movements. The Pink Rathian can move vertically and fires her fire attacks more frequently and quickly. As with the regular Rathian, hunters should also try to cut off the poisonous tail of the Pink Rathian as quickly as possible.
The Sakura quest “Empress in Full Bloom” starts on May 4 and ends on May 10. It starts when the Kulve Taroth quest disappears again from Monster Hunter World. You can find more details about the current siege quest of Kulve Taroth here:
Actually, only a new map should have been introduced on the PTR of Overwatch along with some balance changes: Rialto. However, the team made a mistake, leading to more changes than planned: The Moon Colony Horizon is apparently getting a rework.
The latest patch for the PTR of Overwatch was supposed to test only balance changes for Hanzo and other heroes and a new payload map. However, an error here led to you being able to test something that wasn’t even planned.
The map “Moon Colony Horizon” is one of the least popular in the game. Even in its already hated context of attack maps, it is particularly loathed. Among all maps, it is the one that favors attackers the most. No question: Moon Colony Horizon has the worst balance.
The map was therefore supposed to be revised – just not right now. Due to an error when deploying the new patch on the PTR, changes to Horizon were inadvertently made available to players.
A quick tour of the map shows you its new appearance. Not much has changed, but it is often the small details that bring the advantage.

In response to the error, Principal Level Designer of Overwatch David Adams commented in the forums. He casually remarked on the mishap with the words: “This shouldn’t happen – but oh well, here you go.”
The changes to the Moon Colony Horizon are still in progress, and testing is being conducted. The current status on the PTR may therefore not be the final version.
Furthermore, the changes will not be active with the next patch, and there is still no release date. For custom games on the PTR, Horizon is currently still locked, meaning it cannot be specifically played.
Players of Conan Exiles enjoy how they can now slay through the enemies – the innovations are well received. Only one thing is souring many fans about the new combat system – the ranged combat.
On April 17, Conan Exiles received a giant update that provided players with plenty of material to test right before the release. The almost 20-gigabyte patch brought many new features like farming and purges.
The core of the update, and likely the reason for its size, was the overhauled combat system of the survival MMO. Many changes to the old system were intended to make fights smoother and improve the game feel. But did they really succeed?
The most important new feature of the combat system in Conan Exiles is that now every weapon has its own unique style. If you chain light and heavy attacks, you can string together combos of up to four attacks, making fights significantly smoother.
Additionally, the weapons now have specific properties that you can work with in combat. You can recognize what effects the weapons trigger by the color of the trails they create with heavy attacks. Red trails, like those from daggers, cause the opponent to bleed. Yellow trails, like those from maces, cripple them.
Dodging rolls and kicks round out the combat experience. They add strategic depth to fights, especially in PvP. We have compiled all changes to the combat system in our summary of the patch notes for you.
The community likes the new combat system – with reservations
Overall, the new combat system is well received by the players of Conan Exiles. Playing with various weapon types is fun, and tactical play is rewarded.
It no longer feels like a dull exchange of blows, where the one who acts foolishly loses. However, there are three points that are frequently mentioned and there are several topics in the feedback forums regarding these.
Camera control
Since the update, it is hardly possible to fight in first-person perspective. With every movement, the camera moves into strange positions, and the weapons are not always visible. The combat is not precisely controllable in this way. Fighting in third person is significantly easier.
Healing
With the patch, there was also an adjustment to healing. Food restores health, even in combat, which particularly annoys PvP players. Fights now drag on and are often determined by the amount of potions and steaks carried.
Ranged combat
The biggest point of criticism that keeps being mentioned is ranged combat – as mentioned in this forum post. Most players complain about the changes to bow and arrow. The entire ranged combat system has been adjusted and modified.
Arrows now deal less damage and fly significantly slower. The speed of the projectiles is sometimes not even enough to reliably hit a moving target. For hunting an easy target, arrows are consumed in quantities that are disproportionate to the loot.
Handling them has also changed significantly. The string cannot be held after being drawn, a “heavy attack” is triggered by the character itself, and the player no longer has control over it.
Additionally, arrows no longer adhere to logical physics. They almost always hit where the crosshair is located, just significantly delayed. There is no real trajectory anymore. Where bows were previously seen as too strong, they are now nearly useless. Particularly frustrating: NPC archers are unaffected by these changes and can hit every player with pinpoint accuracy.
Conclusion and future: Good, with room for improvement
In summary, the combat update is well received, and the changes seem to be very well liked by the community so far. Previously, the combat system was a pain point for many players, which has now been improved. The new system significantly enhances the game.
However, most fans are also aware that the update is a test. They raise the points of criticism, especially regarding ranged combat, to have them improved.
In the most recent dev blog on April 20, the developers stated that they are trying to give archers at least the ability to hold the string again. They also take the rest of the criticism to heart and monitor the situation. There will likely be changes, but not at launch, rather after the release of the game.

We asked you which weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale is so bad that you have nightmares just thinking about it. A weapon so terrible that you wouldn’t even touch it with gloves. Which weapon has now climbed to the throne of terror?
What was the decisive point for you, you determined yourself! We present to you the top 3 of the survey – and which alternatives you should consider when such a bad piece of hardware falls at your feet.
Rank 3 of the worst weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale – Suppressed Submachine Guns and Pistols
On third place, there are two weapons: the suppressed submachine guns and the standard pistols. Both representatives secured 14 percent of the votes – more than 500 votes per weapon.
Interesting: The two weapon types are among the most common in the entire game. The second place weapon plays in the same league at most. A pistol will most often be handed to you first by the game, whether you like it or not.
The suppressed submachine gun has the advantage of being very quiet and can deal decent damage at close range. The major disadvantage: the tactical SMG is superior to it in every respect. If you absolutely want to play with submachine guns, always go for the tactical variant, which also has an epic (purple) quality tier.
The standard pistols are also usable at close range. However, really only in the first seconds of a round. Once you stumble upon a pump shotgun, you should definitely switch to this weapon for close combat distance.
If you like to play with pistols, you can also go for the suppressed variant. While it is rarer, it deals more damage – and makes hardly any noise!
Rank 2 of the worst weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale – Revolver
The silver medal goes to a weapon category that has been significantly increased in recent weeks – the revolver. Nearly 600 players, or 16 percent of the votes, chose the revolver as the worst firearm in the game.
The weapon shoots slowly and especially at long distances, you will have difficulties with it. The blue (rare) variant is also really rare and is almost never found.
If you have a good eye, you can rack up some decent kills with the revolver at the beginning of a round. With perfect initial precision, you can take out many opponents as long as you’re not moving. However, once players start running around with full shields, you should definitely reconsider your weapon choice.
If you really want to play with this weapon category, you should go for the (rarer) hand cannon. It deals significantly more damage and works against single enemy structures as well.
Rank 1 of the worst weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale: The Crossbow
It was introduced for the Valentine’s Day event but received little love in the survey. More than 800 players, or 22 percent of the voters, chose the crossbow as the worst weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
Yet, the crossbow is actually a cool weapon. It is silent, you have unlimited ammunition, and you can even take your enemies into your sights through a scope.
Unfortunately, it only works suboptimally. Skilled players can locate the arrows fired from a crossbow if they hit a nearby structure. You also cannot use the crossbow to attack enemy dwellings, as the arrows do no damage to buildings etc.
Better than the crossbow – the sniper rifle
Even a critical hit does not knock your opponent off their feet if they have full shields. The biggest downside of the weapon is the trajectory of the arrows, which behaves completely differently than with other ranged weapons.
If you want to play with a ranged weapon, we recommend the hunting rifle or a bolt-action sniper. With these weapons, you will achieve significantly better results.
Did you expect the crossbow to be the worst weapon?
Destiny 2 is in an extraordinary situation. Many fans have actually given up on the game since December, but they want to return in May because they have already purchased the 2nd DLC “Warmind”. However, Bungie seems to already have its thoughts in September. Is Destiny 2 ready to seize this seemingly last chance that the fans are giving them?
The mood around Destiny 2 has shifted from “ecstatic” to “devastated” within 8 months. It is a crazy situation in which Bungie now finds itself: Criticism of the game has been pouring in for months, yet the next DLC “Warmind” has certainly already been sold hundreds of thousands of times.
This unusual situation is the result of a rollercoaster ride that has been steadily declining since September 2015.
With Destiny 1 and the great expansion “The Taken King,” the studio had built a trust with the fans.
Activision rejoices: Season Pass and special edition sold massively
Players always saw Destiny as a game with incredible potential. They dreamed that the MMO shooter would continue to grow and improve with the sequel. Fans were also willing to endure the tired years of 2016 and 2017, in which they were just waiting for Destiny 2.
Then Destiny 2 was finally announced.
In the belief of the good in Bungie, many players not only bought the “Standard Edition” of Destiny 2 but also Deluxe and Collector’s Editions, which included a Season Pass.
The Season Pass included: The first expansion “Curse of Osiris” from December 2017 and “Warmind” in May 2018. Before the launch of Destiny 2, this seemed like a super plan to many.
But Destiny 2 was not the hoped-for continuation of Destiny, but in many respects a step back. While Destiny 2 offered a story and greater accessibility compared to its predecessor, there were setbacks in game depth, long-term motivation, and PvP.
Destiny 2 was made more for casual players who would go for the Standard Edition, and not for the veterans who bought the Season Pass right away.
After the disappointing development of Destiny 2 in the months following the launch and a DLC “Curse of Osiris” that did not bring much reason to spend time on it, many fans turned their backs on the shooter in 2018.
In the first months of 2018, Bungie began to rebuild Destiny 2, but the successes are not yet really visible.
Destiny 2 is actually only ready to convince veterans again in September
The major changes, it is clear, will only enter Destiny 2 in the autumn. Only then will Bungie have prepared itself to convince players of Destiny again.
The problem is now:
Fans say: “Okay, I’ll check back in May with Destiny 2, I’ve already paid for the DLC” – This is the last chance.
Bungie, however, seems to already have its thoughts in September and on the major expansion that is supposed to bring “real changes” – Bungie is apparently not yet ready to seize the last chance with “Warmind” right now.
Already in recent weeks, it has become increasingly clear: The actual upheaval that players are waiting for will not come in May with “Warmind,” but only in September with the larger Comet expansion.
The catch here: Players have already paid for the May DLC. For Comet, Bungie will likely charge the fans again.
Spring updates have always been the weakest time for Destiny
The DLC “Warmind” is therefore in the impossible situation of convincing fans to trust Bungie enough to consider returning to Destiny 2 in September.
The 2nd DLC of Destiny 2 must prepare the stage for Bungie to present the September expansion without disappointed fans storming their E3 booth with pitchforks and blasters.
How this can succeed amidst the current sentiment among players seems questionable.
Traditionally, the spring DLCs (House of Wolves 2015) or the spring updates (The Taken Spring 2016) or “Age of Triumph” (2017) have been more or less stopgap solutions to give players something to do before the longer content pause in the summer.
The highlights always came in September for Destiny with “The Taken King” or “Rise of Iron.”
Could “Warmind” still become a positive surprise?
Currently, we know little about “Warmind” and what awaits players there.
What is clear is that players have immense expectations for “Warmind.” Many have not engaged with Destiny 2 for months, have purchased the DLC but see it as “Bungie’s last chance.”
These high expectations are likely to far exceed what the DLC can fulfill.
However, “Warmind” at least needs to send a clear signal in the right direction, otherwise it will be immensely difficult for Bungie to launch the Comet expansion to Destiny 2 properly in the autumn.
Already now, Bungie will face a headwind that they are not accustomed to.
On April 24, Bungie will present the DLC “Warmind” in a livestream. We will report on Mein MMO with a live ticker.
For a long time, there have been rumors about a new Premium Edition of the popular action title GTA V. These have now been confirmed. The GTA 5 Premium Online Edition is now available in stores for PS4 and Xbox One. What does this edition offer, and who is it really for?
The rumors have ultimately come true – the GTA 5 Premium Online Edition is now available at retail for the PS4 and Xbox One. This edition is also expected to be released digitally next week for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We take a look at what the new version from Rockstar has to offer and tell you who it would be a worthwhile purchase for.
GTA 5 Premium Online Edition – what’s included
The Premium Online Edition of GTA 5 includes the complete current story experience as well as the full package of the ever-expanding world of GTA Online. Buyers receive all previously released gameplay upgrades and expansions, including The Doomsday Heist, Gunrunning, Smuggler’s Run, and more.
Furthermore, it now also includes the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack, which brings various content for GTA Online including properties, businesses, weapons, vehicles, and more worth 9,000,000 GTA$. Additionally, there is also 1,000,000 GTA$ for exclusive use in online mode.
For comparison: Overall, this pack has a value of about 10,000,000 GTA$ and costs a hefty 44,99 € by itself.
Who is the GTA 5 Premium Online Edition for?
For all existing owners of GTA 5, the new package is likely to be rather disappointing and does not fundamentally make sense. The game offers nothing except the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack and the 1,000,000 GTA$ that hasn’t already been received by buyers of the standard GTA 5 through previous updates. Moreover, unlike its predecessor, GTA 5 has not had any story DLCs or other extensive single-player expansions so far.
Thus, the new edition of GTA 5 is actually only aimed at potential new customers and is entirely designed to provide new players with as comfortable and comprehensive an entry as possible into the world of GTA 5 Online.
If you are already a proud owner of GTA 5, you can confidently skip the new Premium Online Edition. If you are still interested in the bonus content, it would even be better to take a look at the separately available Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack.
Because the GTA 5 Premium Online Edition really only makes sense for new players who do not yet own the original GTA 5.
The stumbling MMORPG Shroud of the Avatar (SotA) is hosting a stress test on April 23rd – those who participate will receive double XP.
A stress test after the release of an MMORPG? Shroud of the Avatar is struggling with performance issues. When multiple players are in an instance, the performance of the title crashes. This can happen – from personal experience – already with 20 players. This is certainly not a particularly good starting situation for an MMORPG. Therefore, a stress test is now taking place.
A massive stress test for 50 players
Portalarium hopes to get 50 players to participate in this test. To encourage players to join the test, the developers promise double experience points.
The stress test is said to be “massive” according to the team – at least 50 players are expected
It is one of those popular dance parties taking place on a ship
The stress test is expected to last 45 minutes
The test will take place on the MMO’s QA server
The stress test will activate a double XP event on the live server for one week after release 53 starts on April 26th – but only if 50 players actually participate
Those who show up at the dance party will have a chance to receive random rewards

Release 53 of the MMORPG Shroud of the Avatar is very important for Portalarium. Because now the marketing campaign should finally start. Accordingly, it is necessary that new players find a stable MMO, which was not the case at the release. This happened prematurely for many fans. Now the studio must turn things around.
