To the dismay of many Guardians, it turned out last week that the exclusive Nightfall rewards in Destiny 2 are bugged. Tonight, an update for Destiny 2 finally comes to fix the issue. We have the details.
Nightfall loot bugged: The disappointment was great when it was officially confirmed last week what numerous fans had already suspected: the exclusive Nightfall rewards in Destiny 2 are bugged. This affects the Strikes of the base game and the “Curse of Osiris” expansion. No exclusive Nightfall rewards drop anymore.
Numerous Guardians were therefore not only disappointed but also angry. Because since the reset on May 29, the coveted hand cannon T.V.O. should be available as a Nightfall-specific reward. Many fans have invested considerable amounts of time to obtain the weapon. As it turned out in the end – in vain.
No quick solution: Some players had still hoped that Bungie would find a quick solution to the problem, allowing them to have a chance to hunt for the beloved hand cannon once again before the next Weekly Reset. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
Hotfix 1.2.1.1 should solve the Nightfall loot problem
Hotfix coming: Now, Bungie seems to have finally found a solution to the problem. On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, the hotfix 1.2.1.1 is scheduled to be released and will resolve the issue. The hotfix should be available for download and installation starting at 6:00 PM.

No downtime: Although the hotfix is associated with maintenance work, there should be no server downtime – except in emergencies. The maintenance work will take place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. By then, the last Guardians will be removed from their activities and asked to download and install the hotfix if not already done. The patch notes are not yet available.
Consolatory gesture: Furthermore, Bungie wants to make amends to all aggrieved players and plans to bring back the “Tree of Probabilities” strike as a Nightfall in the coming weeks.

The hotfix addresses the issue with the unique rewards in Nightfall, as we mentioned in the article.
Additionally, the update fixes a problem where players could “unequip” all weapons when they were using an app on the go. There was a serious exploit behind it that allowed players to reach max level.
The new patch on the PTR of Overwatch brings several changes. Among other things, Symmetra receives a major rework and is now in the “Damage” category. You can read the patch notes here.
New patch adjusts heroes and maps: The new patch 1.25.0.0 for the test region of Overwatch brings numerous adjustments for some heroes and the Horizon lunar colony. In addition to Symmetra getting a rework, Orisa and Doomfist are also receiving some adjustments.

Blizzard is working on an unannounced Diablo project. But what should it become? The wishes of the fans vary widely.
At Blizzard’s game forge, they are working on a Diablo project that has not yet been announced. So far, we only know that Blizzard is looking for people to work on it. All good so far. But what do you wish for from the new title? We have looked around on social media and compiled the most popular wishes.
The ideas range from a card game to a mobile grinder.
Diablo 4 – This has to be different, right?
A fourth installment of the Diablo franchise has been the talk of the fans for a long time. “Taking hack and slash to the next level” is what some players demand. Others criticize: Is that even possible? How should a fourth installment differentiate from Diablo III? The gameplay is fluid; is a new installment just about new graphics?
Many players are running out of steam with Diablo 3. They only return for the start of a season every few months, play for a few days and then move on to another game. What a new installment of the Diablo series would need to do to engage players long-term is questionable. Blizzard would need to come up with extreme changes.
Diablo IV is also currently a hot topic among fans regarding the new unannounced installment of the franchise.
An RTS? This has to be special.
Is Blizzard venturing into new areas with a real-time strategy game for the Diablo franchise? Here, fans suspect a combination of different areas, namely Warcraft and Diablo.
The speculation about a new real-time strategy game has been around for a long time. The reason for this is internal reshuffles at Blizzard. In September 2017, we reported that WoW head Tom Chilton, Heroes of the Storm guru Dustin Bowder, and StarCraft II icon David Kim were working on new projects at Blizzard. Back then, there was talk of a Mobile MMO RTS.
It is clear that a new real-time strategy game would have to stand out significantly from the existing ones in order to achieve great success.
Diablo 2 Remaster? Probably not
Could the new project be a remastered version of Diablo 2?
Here, fans are divided:
Some say: Sure, after the remastered version of Brood War and the announcement of WoW Classic, Diablo 2 would be a logical step for Blizzard.
On the other hand, it is said that the unannounced Diablo project will not be a remastered version. Fans argue that the many job postings seen in the past point to a larger project. A remake of an already existing game could be handled by Blizzard with a smaller team, as people write on Reddit.
In the new Diablo project, a large part of the community does not believe in a remastered version of Diablo 2.
Card game – Soulstone
Is Blizzard attempting another card game or an expansion for Hearthstone in the Diablo style? This possibility is hotly debated on Reddit, and there is even a name already suggested in the community: Soulstone.
Soulstone: Heroes of Pandemonium – Source: Deviantart
The new job posting, however, contradicts a card game, as Blizzard is looking for someone to design dungeons. Or could this also be a euphemism for card game boards?
Diablo 3 expansion
In addition to many new proposals for standalone games, some fans also believe in an expansion for Diablo 3.
Reddit user TheFunktupus writes, “As much as I want Diablo 4, Reaper of Souls was also an “unannounced Diablo project” before it was revealed.” He explains that he wishes for Diablo 4. Because “if Diablo 3 gets an expansion, it has to be huge to keep the game entertaining for several more years.”
What do you wish for?
Many possibilities are coming in regarding what Blizzard could bring to life with this unannounced project. What do you think or what do you wish for in terms of implementation?
Diablo 4?
An RTS?
The remastered version of Diablo 2?
A card game?
A DLC for Diablo 3?
Feel free to leave us a comment about what kind of concept would quench your thirst for Diablo.

You don’t always need hundreds of players to battle in an online shooter. The newly released online game Gunheart takes a different approach.
Virtual reality has been seen as the big breakthrough, but this technology has yet to truly establish itself. Gunheart aims to give it a little push by offering VR co-op shooter action with role-playing elements.
Co-op shooter with VR support
Exterminators in space. In Gunheart, you take on the role of a bounty hunter who must protect the galaxy from a horde of aliens. They are nesting in various stations scattered throughout the galaxy. You will travel to these locations via a map based on missions. A hub gives you the opportunity to equip yourself before each mission, acquire new weapons, and meet friends.
Cooperative campaign. The story campaign of Gunheart will keep you engaged for about six hours. You have the option to team up with the same friends to defeat the aliens or to play with strangers via a matchmaking system.
This is how the missions run. The quests in Gunheart offer typical shooter gameplay:
The levels are quite linear
You play in groups of three players
In teams, you fight your way through the areas and take out the aliens
Along the way, you find loot that improves your character
Your weapons can be modified
Your health regenerates at stations where you also find ammunition
In total, there are nine story missions and eleven additional quests
PvP battles are also possible in team-based skirmishes
The unique graphics and the quirky gameplay have players comparing it to Borderlands. It’s similarly crazy, but Gunheart focuses less on character stories.
Play with or without a VR headset. Gunheart gives you the option to play in VR using an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift headset. You will also use the Vive controllers. If you prefer not to, you can play without VR. However, to support VR gameplay, teleport mechanics play an important role. Instead of jumping, you teleport to specific locations in the level.
If you’re looking for a classic co-op shooter with a story that also offers PvP mechanics and virtual reality support, you can check out Gunheart now on Steam.

On Reddit, the developer addressed the ongoing questions about Custom Matches and private servers for Fortnite: Battle Royale. Many players had hoped that the Playground mode would allow private games. Unfortunately, they will be disappointed, as an Epic employee revealed on Reddit.
That’s why players are hoping for Custom Matches: On May 24, Epic announced in a Development Update that they were working on a new mode called Playground, which allows players to respawn after dying. Since then, players have been eagerly waiting for news about this mode and whether it allows private matches – user-defined games where various parameters can be set and friends can be invited to play.
The last two weeks, however, brought no updates on this mode – nor whether it would support private servers. Curiously, the ability to start Custom Games is already present in the game – but it is only available for testing and reserved for a few streamers who send invitation codes to their viewers.
When will Playground be released? Will it be the basis for private servers? The Epic employee JShredz has now commented on a post on Reddit and informed disappointed players that Epic will continue to work on the mode for a while.
He stated that “significant improvements to the back-end services are necessary.” He also emphasized that the Playground mode does not provide a foundation for private servers. The systems surrounding Fortnite: Battle Royale require constant contact with the servers to run smoothly.
JShredz therefore ruled out the possibility of private servers coming in the near future. So if you were hoping to hone your skills in a quiet environment – you will have to continue doing so amidst the chaos of battle for the time being.
However, it is considered a given that customizable games will exist in the future. Epic is increasingly working to bring Fortnite: Battle Royale into the eSports scene. This will not be possible without Custom Matches. Only the timing remains uncertain.
What do you think? When will the Custom Matches come?

The new Pokemon games “Let’s go, Pikachu” and “Let’s go, Eevee” for Nintendo Switch have caused confusion among fans of the series. Will the online features of the spin-offs be paid or not? Now, Nintendo clears up all uncertainties with an official statement.
In “Pokemon Let’s Go”, it is the remake of Pokemon Yellow, which takes place in the classic Kanto region. Players can choose between two versions, giving them either Pikachu or Evoli as companions.
Online features are paid
Nintendo confirmed to GameSpot that players will need the Switch Online Subscription if they want to use the multiplayer features of Pokemon Let’s Go.
This will allow them to battle other players over the internet or locally, or trade Pokemon with them.
However, these features will be simplified. For example, there will be no Global Trade Station or Wonder Trade. According to Nintendo, Pokemon Let’s Go should be more beginner-friendly and aimed at new players.
How will the Switch subscription work? The paid online service of the Switch is expected to be available from September 2018 and will be tied to the respective player’s account.
There are the following options for the subscription:
1 month – €3.99
3 months – €7.99
12 months – €19.99
There will also be a “12 months Family Plan” for around €34.99, allowing the use of online features on up to 8 different accounts.
Further details will be announced throughout the year.

We reveal to you 8 things that you should definitely complete before the launch of WoW: Battle for Azeroth.
There is not much time left until the launch of Battle for Azeroth, the next expansion of World of Warcraft. Therefore, players should start thinking about whether they want to complete certain tasks and achievements in Legion early. Because some things that are currently – quite literally – easy to accomplish will become significantly more difficult or even unattainable with the release of Battle for Azeroth.
We will tell you in this list which tasks you should tackle in WoW in the near future!
Update:The article was updated on June 6, 2018, with the latest information and insights. [toc]
Skins for the Artifact Weapons
With Battle for Azeroth, the unlocked skins for the artifact weapons (the “templates”) will be available for transmogification. If a Paladin wants his new green sword from BfA to look like the Ashbringer, it is still possible.
However, with the launch of the next WoW expansion, not all skins will be available anymore! A skin is tied to a special challenge, which would be too easy to complete with BfA.
In plain language, this means: If you want the special weapon skins, you must unlock them in the coming months.
It’s about the artifact weapon skins of the Mage Tower at the Broken Shore. There is a special scenario for each specialization. Most of the time it is a tough boss fight, where even the smallest mistake can lead to defeat.
Participation in the challenge of the Mage Tower is only possible every few days when the Mage Tower is constructed. Additionally, entrance costs Nethershards each time. However, with an item level of 940+, the challenges are significantly easier.
This will soon change – then the Mage Tower will be permanently accessible until the launch of Battle for Azeroth:
The skins for completing a dungeon of the difficulty “Mythic +15” are still available with Battle for Azeroth. Here, Blizzard changed its mind during the beta and allowed players to unlock the skins in the new addon. However, you then have to complete a BfA dungeon of the corresponding difficulty.
Fishing Achievements and Toys
Yes, fishing is a controversial topic. Some hate it because it’s boring, others love it because it brings some peace to the stressful MMO routine. However, in Legion, there are 7 fishing factions, each with its own reputation. Each of these reputation factions rewards with special toys, such as unique bobbers for fishing or even cosmetic shirts with a unique appearance.
The catch is: If you tackle the fishing achievements in a large (raid) group, it might take 3-4 hours per reputation. Solo, it can mean several days of pure fishing time for each faction!
Simply open the group finder, set cross-language options (not just German groups), and search for “Fishing”. A corresponding group of 20-40 people can currently be found at almost any time of day.
Only one of the 6 fishermen is available each day, only Margoss on the island next to Dalaran can be found daily. Near the various fishermen, you have the chance to fish special items that you can exchange for reputation and rewards directly with the corresponding fisherman.
This is amplified by an additional event: At each fisherman, there is a special item that can be salvaged while fishing. If you throw this item back into the water, a small boss fight occurs. After defeating the boss, the water is enchanted for 2 minutes and ensures that you will definitely receive the necessary reputation items while fishing! Since every player can trigger this event, it can be generated more frequently with a full raid group, thus farming reputation faster.
With “Battle for Azeroth,” these fishing groups will probably no longer have great significance – the farming time will then increase by several hundred play hours.
The Brawler’s Guild
The Brawler’s Guild has become a tradition in World of Warcraft. With (almost) every expansion, it is updated and entices with new or upgraded fights and fresh rewards.
Access to the Brawler’s Guild, which can be found in the Valley of Honor (Horde) or in the Deep Run Tram (Alliance), is quickly obtained from the elite Vrykul on the island in the northeast of Stormheim and unlocks access for all characters of the account.
Anyone who has reasonably up-to-date equipment (item level 930 and above) should have no problem with the various fights in the Brawler’s Guild and should be able to secure the highest rank without difficulty. Special heirlooms await as rewards, but also an exclusive mount or a ring that allows for teleportation to the Brawler’s Guild at any time.
A highlight is the companion Meatball, which you can unlock for your order hall during your time in the Brawler’s Guild. This can be used as a bodyguard and has a brilliant ability: Enemies below 20% health are instantly killed. This also applies to rare elite enemies with several million health points!
It is to be expected that the Brawler’s Guild will be closed with the pre-patch of Battle for Azeroth (Patch 8.0) and will reopen at a later time. Whether the current mount, a riding basilisk, will still be available with Battle for Azeroth is uncertain.
Unlocking the Allied Races
For many players, who only occasionally check in to World of Warcraft, farming reputation through world quests is not a great pleasure. However, several allied races, such as the Nightborne, Highmountain Tauren, Army of the Light, and the Argus assault, are tied to the reputation of various factions.
Those who want to create allied race characters must complete the starting quest line, which requires a revered reputation with the corresponding faction.
At the current time, it is not expected that Blizzard will remove these reputation requirements with the launch of Battle for Azeroth.
Anyone who already has little motivation for farming reputation will likely have even less with the next addon when the corresponding content becomes outdated and no longer worthwhile.
However, there is still plenty of time before the launch of the new expansion. It is perfectly sufficient if you simply log in every 3 days and complete the emissary quests to collect a nice bonus of 1500 reputation points each time. This allows you to earn revered reputation without much effort.
The Titles of the Trials of Valor
Most players can hardly remember the Trials of Valor, but they still exist in the game. If you speak to the teachers of your class, you can join a scenario and enter the Trials.
Here you must complete challenges depending on your specialization. Either waves of enemies must be defeated (DPS), a group must be protected (Tank), or NPCs must be kept alive (Healer).
The challenges come in bronze/silver/gold and “endless” modes. Anyone who reaches wave 30 in the endless mode and completes it successfully will receive a cool title. Depending on the specialization, these titles are:
the proven healer (Healer)
the proven defender (Tank)
the proven attacker (DPS)
The trick is that the Trials were likely created without the artifact weapons in mind. This makes the Trials currently quite easy. With Patch 8.0, a stat squish is coming, and shortly thereafter, the artifact weapons will disappear, making the Trials presumably tougher again.
If you want the cool titles, you should complete your Trials as soon as possible!
“Field Medic”
With Battle for Azeroth, Blizzard is removing the profession of First Aid from the game. The recipes will be split into Alchemy and Tailoring, and corresponding achievements can no longer be unlocked. This also applies to a new title that was introduced with “Legion” – the Field Medic. To get this, you must rescue numerous NPCs on the Broken Isles and free them from their suffering.
Since earning the title is a bit complex, we have created our own guide for it, which you can view here:
Hurry up, because with the release of Battle for Azeroth, the title will no longer be available!
“The Chosen One”
There is a very special title for players who take on an extremely difficult challenge. Because if you want to call yourself “the Chosen One,” you must clear the mythic difficulty of the Trial of Valor with your character.
A small additional challenge is: the character must not die in any of the boss fights.
Only if the raid is completed without a death in a boss fight will this title be awarded.
In the past, such achievements with “you must not die” criteria were always deactivated and were no longer available once the next expansion started.
It’s best to find an experienced mythic raid group for this achievement or try to lead one yourself regularly. Currently, the Trial of Valor is no longer “impossibly” difficult for average players, thanks to equipment from Argus, but it still requires a little practice.
It is not yet confirmed whether “the Chosen One” will disappear with Battle for Azeroth – but the probability is very high.
Turn Your Order Resources into Gold
If you play regularly and a lot, you probably have massive amounts of order resources hoarded on your characters. Order resources can currently be easily converted into gold. Almost every day, 1-2 missions are offered in the order hall that lure with rewards of up to 2,500 gold – a worthwhile investment for your order resources.
With the release of Battle for Azeroth, the order halls will be heavily nerfed – especially the gold income is likely to be drastically reduced or even completely removed, as was the case with the garrisons in Warlords of Draenor.
Send your followers on missions or exchange order resources for blood of Sargeras, for which you can buy materials in Dalaran and then process them or directly convert them into gold.
With Battle for Azeroth, no one will need order resources or crafting materials anymore – so turn them into gold now!
What things do you think should still be done before the release of Battle for Azeroth?
Good news for everyone who still wants their special skin of the artifact weapon. Soon, the Mage Tower in WoW will be available permanently – until the end of Legion.
The Mage Tower challenge at the Broken Shore of World of Warcraft: Legion entices successful players with a special skin for their artifact weapon. However, players have previously had to endure long wait times to take on the challenge. In the final breaths of “Legion,” Blizzard wants to change that.
What will change at the Mage Tower? Currently, players who want to take on their Mage Tower challenge always have to wait for the tower to be built at the Broken Shore. This takes several days, and then the tower is only active for three days before it has to be rebuilt. Blizzard has now announced that they will make the Mage Tower quests permanently accessible in a future update.
What are the Mage Tower challenges? The Mage Tower challenges are more difficult solo content that varies for each specialization. However, anyone with an item level of 940 or higher should be able to withstand the fights with some endurance. Don’t give up if you fail a few times – the fights are among the hardest encounters players have ever experienced solo in World of Warcraft.
Last chance before Battle for Azeroth: With the launch of the upcoming expansion, the Mage Tower challenge will be disabled. It will no longer be possible to take on the special fights or to obtain the specific templates for the artifact weapon. Therefore, Blizzard has decided to give everyone who still needs their template one last, longer chance.
However, there is still no exact date for when the Mage Tower will be permanently unlocked.
The E3 2018 is just around the corner. Starting this weekend, there will be first information about upcoming games. Bethesda will also be present in Los Angeles at the game fair and will talk about future titles.
We already know that several games are on the way. But what else can we expect, and might there even be one or two surprises? We speculate a little.
Upcoming Bethesda Games
Which games will definitely be presented? Some of the games that Bethesda will showcase at E3 are already known. These include:
Fallout 76
What is Fallout 76? That is the big question. Because apart from a teaser trailer presented without comment, Bethesda has not made any further statements about the game. Currently, there are many rumors that it could possibly be an online survival game in the style of Rust or Conan Exiles, focusing on base building. However, Fallout 76 is also said to offer a story with quests and not deviate too much from previous installments in the series.
What can we expect about Fallout 76 at E3? Bethesda will introduce the game in more detail and will probably also show gameplay. Then we will finally learn what kind of game Fallout 76 will be.

Rage 2
What is Rage 2? Rage 2 is the sequel to the shooter Rage by id Software from 2010. This time you explore a huge, open, post-apocalyptic world. In the role of Walker, you will face mutants and crazed bandits. You can upgrade your weapons and utilize powerful Nanotrite powers that temporarily turn you into a killing machine. Rage 2 promises fast and intense shooter action.
What can we expect about Rage 2 at E3? Bethesda revealed the open-world shooter Rage 2 in advance of the game fair. However, many questions remain. For example, what about multiplayer modes? Will we play cooperatively with others? Will there be PvP? E3 should provide more information. The shooter is also expected to be playable.

Overwatch gets a new feature – the group search. This allows players to select other teammates based on harsh criteria.
Finding the right teammates in Overwatch is sometimes not so easy. When no friends are online, you are at the mercy of the matchmaker and hoping to encounter players with a similar attitude. To address this issue, Blizzard is introducing a “Looking for Group” feature. With the group search tool, players should be able to find like-minded individuals more easily and even commit to roles.
What settings are available? Those who create a group for the group search can choose several settings and criteria that other players can search for. These include the following options:
Game mode (Quickmatch, Arcade, Ranked, etc.)
Voice chat required?
Fixed roles
Minimum recognition level (1-5)
What the recognition level is all about, we have explained here:
What are “Fixed Roles”? Similar to the group search in MMORPGs, players can be assigned fixed roles. This way, you can specifically search for players who always play a Tank or always play a Healer. Corresponding players can then prepare for this and are forced by the tool to fill such a role in the match. For example, anyone applying for the role of “Support” and joining the group can only select support heroes in the match.

No matchmaking, just a helper tool: Jeff Kaplan from the Overwatch team emphasizes that the group finder is not a “matchmaking” tool. You are using a browser where you can search for other players. No consideration is given, for example, to a person’s skill rating. However, you can specify these criteria in the group description, such as only looking for “serious, adult players with a ranking of 3000+ for the ranked mode.”
What do you think of this group search? An important feature for Overwatch? Or does it just increase the pressure on some players?
The MMORPG Shroud of the Avatar does not seem to be doing very well. Player numbers are declining and even the telethons no longer provide as much revenue for the developers.
The launch of the MMORPG Shroud of the Avatar did not go particularly well. Although (according to official statements) only about 35 percent of all players play via Steam, a steady downward trend is still evident.
Things do not look good…
Declining player numbers. While the number of players increased at the launch on March 27, it has been rapidly declining since then. In May, the largest player loss in about a year was measured. And the downward trend continues. According to Steamcharts, only about 220 players are currently online at the same time – as mentioned, according to the developer, this is “only” about 35 percent of all players. The rest use the official launcher.
The last telethon left many with long faces. Every month, the development studio Portalarium holds a telethon. This is a four-hour live stream in which the team answers player questions and raises money for the continued development of the Buy2Play title. Anyone who buys something in the in-game shop for at least 5 dollars during the telethon contributes to the total amount. Depending on revenue, certain new in-game items such as costumes or emotes are unlocked, which everyone automatically receives who participates in the telethon.
However, only about 42,000 dollars could be raised this time. This led to many long faces in the live stream, as otherwise between 70,000 and 100,000 dollars could be raised. This is the worst result since the telethon in January. The team tried to explain that this was likely because the telethon took place on a Monday this time and not, as usual, on a Friday. The team believes that many missed the live stream – despite the regular announcement.
A new telethon aims to change the situation. Because the revenue was so low, another telethon is scheduled for Friday, June 8. The developers hope to raise more money with this one.
Problems upon problems
SotA apparently has problems. This sounds a bit like a desperate move. Is the team perhaps facing financial issues, which is why they now need to hold another telethon at all costs? Additionally, discussions about a botting problem are taking place in the official forum. Botters are currently disturbing the player-driven economy. But instead of just banning all these players, they are usually only warned. Perhaps because they would further reduce the already low player count?
What happens next? The future of Shroud of the Avatar does not look particularly rosy. Steadily declining player numbers, low telethon revenue, poor reviews, and negative ratings on Steam do not inspire much hope that SotA will last long. However, there are plans to start another Kickstarter campaign for the second episode of the MMORPG. Assuming there are still enough fans left who want to participate in it.

After a long forced break, the Faction Rally is back in Destiny 2. With its return comes numerous innovations. One big question mark was the Renown system. We explain everything you need to know about it.
One of the biggest changes was the Loyalty Oath. Now, you can only join a single faction during the week-long event – across all accounts! Only during the subsequent group fight can you pledge your loyalty to another faction.
If you want to reach rank 50 with several or even all three factions and thus grab the most coveted rewards like masterwork catalysts and exotic ornaments, you need to actively collect faction tokens. Because with that, you rank up with the individual factions. 20 tokens are needed for a rank-up. Thus, for level 50, you need to collect a whopping 1,000 tokens.
To simplify this mammoth task a bit, Bungie has introduced the so-called Renown system. Here’s how this new mechanic works.
Get more famous and earn more tokens
What is Renown? Renown is essentially a modifier that can stack up to five times. This modifier increases the yield of faction tokens in Lost Sectors as the level increases. In short, it’s about building up Renown and then looting a Lost Sector.
How do you earn and increase Renown? Building up Renown is very simple. Players can increase their Renown level by defeating high-value targets, completing public events, or participating in faction rally supply events. Each of these activities awards different amounts of Renown:
Public Event = 2 Renown
Heroic Public Event = 3 Renown
Patrol = 1 Renown
Valuable Target = 1 Renown
Supply Event = 1 Renown
Guardians can increase all these values by another 1 Renown if they are wearing a complete armor set from their faction.
What else should be noted? As Renown increases, players are affected by some negative effects. These remain permanently active at the respective Renown levels.
For each stack of Renown, outgoing damage is reduced while incoming damage is increased. Additionally, at rank 3, agility is reduced, and at rank 5, shield and health regeneration is significantly reduced.
Players will thus have to collect appropriate Light Spheres to restore their health. The hand cannon Crimson and the Warlock’s Devour ability are particularly useful here.
If you die, you lose 1 Renown. The penalty is not all that draconian. However, if you use the fast travel function during an ongoing event, you will lose all your Renown. The game makes this clear to you.
How do you use Renown for more tokens? Once you’ve built up Renown (ideally 5), you head into a Lost Sector. These mini-dungeons become more challenging with increasing Renown levels, but they represent the currently most effective way to earn lots of faction tokens and thus boost your faction rank. Here’s how the token yield from the Lost Sectors breaks down:
0 Renown = 1 Token
1 Renown = 2 Tokens
2 Renown = 4 Tokens
3 Renown = 6 Tokens
4 Renown = 8 Tokens
5 Renown = 10 Tokens
Path to Level 50: Most other activities – including daily challenges – also grant faction tokens during the group fights. If you combine this with the Lost Sectors using the Renown system, it should be quite feasible to reach faction rank 50 within a week if you work towards it.
With the new Season 14, a new concept starts in Diablo 3: Season themes. And this time you will be rewarded with many Goblins.
In a few days, Season 14 will start in Diablo III. A special Goblin theme provides more incentive to participate in the season. All treasure goblins you encounter in S14 will appear in pairs. Double loot for you!
Double Goblins in Season 14 of Diablo 3
To create more fun in seasons, Blizzard has come up with “themes” for Diablo 3. The upcoming season rewards you with the fact that every time you encounter a treasure goblin, you will also find an exact copy of it. Okay, not every time. Blizzard makes exceptions:
Goblins encountered through a Bandit Shrine, Goblin “Portal” packages, or in the Realm of Greed do not appear twice.
Duplicated portals of the Rainbow Goblin after Bad Niederfunkeln lead to the same instance of Bad Niederfunkeln – there won’t suddenly be two different portals.
Cosmetic Rewards in Season 14
As usual, you will also receive new cosmetic rewards in Season 14. These include boots and pants from the Conqueror set. Additionally, there are portrait frames in the style of Tal Rasha and a new flag.
Haedrig’s Gift in Season 14 of Diablo 3
In every season of Diablo 3, the start is eased by Haedrig’s Gift. If you complete certain tasks of the season journey, you will receive gifts containing parts of a class set.
You can receive a complete class set per season at most. The parts included depend on which class you open the gifts with. The following sets are available in Season 14:
If you achieve the title “Conqueror” during a season, you will unlock additional loot chest slots. Overall, you can unlock four more slots this way. To do so, you need to complete the following tasks of the Conqueror stage:
Complete a Nephalem Rift of level 70 on Torment XIII in under 5 minutes
Complete a Greater Nephalem Rift of level 60 (Solo)
Kill Greed on Torment XIII
Kill the Butcher of level 70 on Torment XIII in under 30 seconds
Reforge a legendary or set item
Upgrade an ancient item with a legendary gem of level 50 or higher
Rank up three legendary gems to level 55
Complete two achievements
Special Achievements in Season 14
The achievements of the season have rotated again. This time there are:
We present 6 online shooters to be showcased at E3 2018. Among them are highly anticipated titles like Anthem or sequels to famous series like Battlefield and Call of Duty.
What can we expect for each title at E3?
Anthem
What is Anthem?Anthem is a shared-world shooter like Destiny from BioWare. The environment will be a large and vibrant open world where events occur constantly. You’ll be traveling either alone or with up to three other players. In the game, you continually level up and find items from which you craft better gear and upgrades for your Javelin exosuits.
What can we expect at E3 for Anthem? A new trailer for Anthem will be released at E3. According to EA, the trailer is supposed to showcase new characters and monsters from Anthem. Furthermore, we will get a deeper insight into the combat system and the Javelin exosuits.
What is Battlefield V? The next installment of the Battlefield series, Battlefield V, will be released on October 19, 2018, and will focus on World War II. The reveal trailer for Battlefield V has strongly polarized audiences, as some found the trailer just too “colorful” for a World War II game, and the woman soldier with a robotic arm was viewed with skepticism. However, Battlefield V will bring significant gameplay innovations, such as bullets and tanks that can break through walls, or a new movement system.
What can we expect at E3 for Battlefield V? The shooter is one of the biggest titles that EA will release soon. It is expected that Battlefield V will be presented extensively. It will be possible to play the first-person shooter during E3, so we can expect initial impressions from fans.
What is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? On May 17, Call of Duty was officially unveiled. During the reveal, the developers talked about three different gameplay modes of Black Ops 4: Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout. In Multiplayer, you can expect tactical combat with specialists. The Zombie mode in Black Ops 4 brings new stories for the new characters. Blackout is the “Call of Duty-style” battle royale mode.
What can we expect at E3 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? We can expect to see even more of the various multiplayer features such as the Blackout matches that resemble battle royale. Treyarch focused on this in their previous presentations. Furthermore, the multiplayer mode will be playable at E3. However, fans would appreciate more information about a possible solo campaign.
What is Destiny 2? Destiny 2 is a multiplayer online shooter with MMO elements from Bungie. Destiny is especially known for its excellent gunplay. While the guardians in the first part of Destiny could withstand all dangers, things look grim at the start of part 2. The Cabal, a race of highly militarized space turtles, have invaded and laid waste to the Last City of humanity. However, the sequel to Destiny 1 has received a lot of criticism from the community in the last months.
What can we expect at E3 for Destiny 2? There will be more information about the recently announced expansion “Forsaken”. Bungie wants to present more of the story to the fans. During E3, the new multiplayer mode “Gambit” will also be playable. The mode will be a PvE/PvP hybrid.
What is Fallout 76? After many speculations about a Fallout 5, it seems that Fallout 76 is now a spin-off of the popular series. Allegedly, Fallout 76 will be some kind of online game. However, these are still rumors for the moment.
What can we expect at E3 for Fallout 76? It is assumed that Bethesda will generally reveal more about the title. A reveal trailer would not be unlikely.
What is The Division 2? The Division 2 is the sequel to the post-apocalyptic MMO shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division. The sequel is said to be a mega project with over 1000 employees who have been working on part 2 since 2016. The Division 2 will run on an updated Snowdrop engine and is expected to have a lot of content ready for players at launch compared to its predecessor.
What can we expect at E3 for The Division 2? Ubisoft wanted to keep information under wraps until E3. It is already known that The Division 2 will be released by March 31, 2019. Ideally, we will see the first trailers and also first gameplay. There is a high chance that there will be a “big reveal” even though new information has been scarce so far.
A wish has been present throughout the development history of Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, our author Schuhmann believes. PvE players should finally venture into PvP. With the new mode “Gambit”, this is supposed to succeed. Because “PvP makes you happy.”
Finally play PvP: Bungie promised players before the release of Destiny 1 grand worlds, great adventures, and a “space opera”, but it seems they themselves did not fully believe it. The raid was developed in secret and they had no idea whether it would work. Bungie was probably skeptical about many progress mechanics themselves.
I suspect that Bungie thought from the very beginning: “Well, people will play a bit of PvE and then spend their time on PvP.” But they never did.
Image: Kotaku
Destiny 1 2015: 7/8 of the time in PvE, 1/8 in PvP
Destiny – not a full provider: Already in 2015 Bungie showed a pie chart illustrating how players spend their time in Destiny. Bungie wanted to sell this as: “Look how evenly people play everything we offer them.” But in reality, the chart said that only a fraction of the time are people actually in PvP; the majority of the time, about 7/8, they spend their time on PvE activities.
PvP skeptics: There may be various reasons why people reject PvP. Perhaps it is too stressful for them, or they prefer the PvP from other games, or some other specific reason prevents them from entering PvP. They may simply have no desire. In any case, Destiny 1 had its PvP skeptics, and Destiny 2 has them too. This bothers Bungie and is also understandable.
The PvE problem: Because from the reluctance towards PvP, a significant problem arises for Bungie that has persisted over the last four years:
PvE content is relatively quickly exhausted – every strike, every raid, every story does not change but always remains the same and becomes boring
The PvP content needs to keep players engaged during the drought of PvE: Because the Crucible stays fresh longer as each match is a bit different
And that’s how it was: And that’s exactly how it went in Destiny 1. During the long content droughts, PvP became more dominant each time. Since there was nothing left to do in strikes and raids,
a portion of the PvE players turned to PvP
while a large part simply stopped playing
Lag, sweating, and balance
The PvP problem: PvP in Destiny 1 struggled with three major issues:
There were issues with lag and bugs from the start – the game was perceived as unfair
Balance was always a topic for years – something was always too strong. Some play styles were always frowned upon: Whether it was grenades, shotguns, or certain skills
And the elite PvP, the “Trials of Osiris”, became increasingly difficult the longer no new PvE content was released, as only PvP professionals remained.
Get off the PvE couch, come to PvE – we have cookies and Egyptian armor!
Bungie wants to convert PvE players: For Bungie, it has been a major goal for years to get players into PvP as much as possible. Because this way they also remain loyal to Destiny when there’s another drought in PvE. The attempt is somewhat like trying to turn cozy couch potatoes into joggers.
Previously, they tried to get players off the PvE couch. They wanted to lure them into PvP with attractive armor sets and good weapons. However, that only worked moderately well.
Destiny 2: Our PvP should be fairer – but became more boring
Destiny 2 and the PvP: This desire to emphasize PvP more also explains many of the changes to PvP in Destiny 2. They wanted to become more like a “classic shooter” and less like the arcade spectacle from Destiny 1. With the new PvP concept, they aimed for “eSport” and “fairness.” But this has led to exactly the opposite: PvP seems to be even less frequented in Destiny 2.
The Gambit mode is now the new idea: At the reveal of the new “PvE/PvP” mode “Gambit”, it became clear that Bungie has not given up on its grand goal. The mode is clearly designed to confront PvE players with PvP, to make it appealing to them and to “convert” them.

Bungie makes a commercial for “Gambit”: PvP makes you happy!
“Oh, this is so much fun for PvE players”: In the presentation, Bungie’s intent was apparent multiple times. The developers described, like in a commercial, the transformation of a hesitant PvE player who has nothing to do with PvP but then pays the opposing team a visit for an invasion and is then thrilled about it: The above video has been fast-forwarded to the relevant point.
There are statements like:
“I know people who just hate PvP. Then they attack and score multiple kills. They think it’s amazing. It’s fantastic.”
Along with images of happy women and men (featured image) are shown.
Do PvE skeptics really care? The question is whether this new mode can achieve that. When you ask PvP players what they wish for Destiny, very different wishes come up:
Dedicated servers to reduce lag
A separation of PvP and PvE equipment to resolve balance issues
And a return to the faster gameplay from Destiny 1 – even “Go Fast” is still too slow for them
Get off the couch – play PvP and be happy!
PvP makes you happy: But … the Bungie employees who have just been converted to PvP look so incredibly happy! Perhaps the new mode “Gambit” deserves a chance. Players should be able to test the new mode at the upcoming events.

Heroes of the Storm has now 79 heroes – We show you who is at the top of the tier list.
All heroes in Heroes of the Storm have their strengths and weaknesses. Nevertheless, they are not all equally strong, and some characters are better than others. We have prepared a detailed tier list for you, which represents the ranking of all characters in tier levels.
A hero is not just a hero. Even though Blizzard has been working hard through many updates and patches to balance all heroes from the MOBA Heroes of the Storm, some heroes still end up being stronger than others. But which characters are currently doing great and which are less good? The answer is provided by the extensive tier list of the experts from TenTonHammer!
The ranking of all heroes at a glance
The following tables contain all 70 heroes from Heroes of the Storm and their ranking in the tier list. These are divided into the categories S+, S, A+, A, B+, B, and C. While S+ contains extremely good characters, the C category represents the current bottom tier of heroes, who are hardly useful in their current state.
Tier S+ – The absolute elite!
Heroes in the S+ tier are currently clearly too good for this world. They are clearly favored by the current meta gameplay and may soon be nerfed. Currently, there is no hero in this category, which is a good sign.
Tier S – Clearly superior!
Tier S heroes are not as OP as their colleagues in Tier S+, but they are still clearly better than the rest in the game. So, expect a nerf in the near future. Currently, heroes like Diablo, Garrosh, or the ninja Genji can be found in this tier. All are excellent for surprising and devastating attacks.

Tier A+ – Always a good choice!
Tier A+ is for heroes that are almost too good. They should still be within the bounds of fairness. In the right hands, they can clearly dominate. This tier currently contains many characters, including healers like Alexstrasza but also Zerg specialists Abathur and Zagara. Anub’arak has made a name for himself as an “Anti-Caster-Tank” and can easily take down mages solo.

Tier A – Fair and Good!
In Tier A, the ideal heroes of Heroes of the Storm are represented. These characters are currently optimally balanced and can easily be played in any team. It speaks to Blizzard’s good work that this list includes a large number of heroes. Assassins with extreme burst damage, such as Alarak or Kael’thas find their place here, but also solid healers like Kharazim or Brightwing. Since their rework, Nova can also be found here.

Tier B – Not quite fresh but okay
Heroes in Tier B are unfortunately a bit out of shape. Compared to the A-tier, they are no longer at their best, but with the right team, they are still somewhat valuable. So if the teammates are right and you know how to play these heroes well, you can confidently continue to use them. A typical B-hero is, for example, the assassin Kel’Thuzad, who can only really perform after completing his quest. The same goes for many other heroes, who only shine with good quest progression of individual talents – like Tyrande, Tassadar, or Nazeebo.

Tier C – Only for enthusiasts
While Tier B is still okay, heroes in Tier C are really only valuable in the right team. With the right support and without their counter-enemies, they can still be strong and play their advantages at the right moment. The hefty ogre Cho’Gall is for example very vulnerable to CC effects and can be easily taken down. Murky can easily be permanently eliminated and Gazlowe requires a lot of ramp-up time to shape the battlefield in his favor.

Tier D – Nope! Nope! Nope!
Tier D includes all heroes that are currently too weak in the meta to be a worthwhile choice on the battlefield. Luckily, there are currently no heroes on this list.
Note: The article is regularly updated. Status of the tier list is June 2018
Path of Exile players have been enjoying the new Patch 3.3.0 since June 1, which brings not only a new league but also other content. The release of the patch has led to a new record number of active players.
The developers at Grinding Gears Games can pat themselves on the back right now. Even though the Bestiary League, the last league of PoE, wasn’t particularly well received by players, it seems that this has not harmed the player count.
On the contrary: with the 3.3.0 update and the new Incursion League, the numbers have risen even further than before.
95,000 – Increasing Trend
What do the current player numbers look like? It is not unusual for Path of Exile that player counts initially shoot up after a major content update. Even during the Bestiary League, the last league of PoE, player counts were, according to Grinding Gears Games’ statement, higher than ever.
This seems to be repeating itself, as since the 3.3.0 update, the number of active players on Steam has remained stable between 95,000 and 98,000, reaching a peak never seen before.
However, the actual number of players is likely to be well over 100,000 when considering other platforms not included in the Steam statistics.
Time Travel for Loot
What were the contents of the update? In the latest league, Path of Exile sends its players back in time to find the lost temple of Atzoatl.
The decisions and actions of players in the past have a strong influence on the rooms and thus also the enemies and treasures within the temple. For example, one can destroy doors in the past that would otherwise block access to new areas in the temple in the future.
With this league, Grinding Gears also aimed to strengthen the core element of Path of Exile’s gameplay, namely the killing of massive hordes of monsters, of which there are plenty in the temple.

Additionally, the 3.3.0 update brought a complete overhaul of the Vaal Skill Gems, 32 completely new items, and many other contents. You can view the complete list in the patch notes on the official site.
What does Grinding Gears have planned next? Grinding Gears’ previous strategy was to alternate the release of expansions and leagues. However, it seems the developer is now changing this strategy.
The clear separation between expansions and leagues has already been quite blurred in the content of the past Bestiary league. The developers at Grinding Gears have decided to continue this strategy and are already working on a major expansion that will go live later in 2018.
Overwatch aims to promote positive interactions. Therefore, there are rewards on the PTR for players who behave exemplary.
Toxicity is a major issue in Overwatch. However, Blizzard prefers not to always talk about the negative aspects of the community and instead wants to highlight the positive and friendly players. Therefore, all players will soon have the chance to recognize particularly nice or helpful teammates with “Endorsements.”
What are Endorsements? Endorsement is a new value that you can see on your player profile. It indicates how other players evaluate you in specific categories and whether they believe you are a friendly, helpful, or simply valuable team member. Those who are positive members of the Overwatch community will be able to accumulate Endorsements over time in various categories.

What categories are there? In total, there are three categories in which you can recognize players.
Fairness: For players who were simply nice and behaved respectfully. Perhaps they praised great shots or it was just fun to talk with them and they lifted the mood of the players. Can be awarded to players on both teams.
Teamplay: A player stands out by effectively working as a team. They may fill roles that others didn’t want to play or even switched heroes at the request. Can only be awarded to teammates of their own team.
Leadership: A player takes charge of the team, calls important objectives, or clarifies the strategy that then led to victory. Can only be awarded to their own team.
What rewards are there? The exact rewards are not yet known. However, there will be two different types of rewards. A small, minimal reward for all players who award others an Endorsement. This is to ensure that Endorsements are also utilized. Greater rewards will be given to players who can accumulate many Endorsements over time and do this “at regular intervals.” However, specific details are still not known.
Punishments lead to loss: Endorsements are meant to highlight positive players. Conversely, this means that a player who receives an account penalty loses all Endorsements and must start again from 0. Furthermore, Endorsements “expire” over time, so players cannot rest on a high level.
The system is currently active on the PTR of Overwatch and will likely rollout to the live version in the coming weeks. What do you think of Blizzard’s plans to reward positive behavior?

World of Warcraft will soon end its support for 32-bit systems. So if you want to play the new addon Battle for Azeroth, you will have to upgrade to 64-bit.
What is going on? Blizzard’s MMORPG classic World of Warcraft usually has modest requirements for hardware and software. Those who want to fight with Orcs or Humans didn’t have to worry much about their system until now.
However, this will soon change as at least older 32-bit systems will be outdated.
All information about the 64-bit transition
What does this mean for players? According to Blizzard, to continue playing WoW in the future, you ideally need to switch to the 64-bit version of the game client before July 1, 2018. It’s available for free download.
However, the 64-bit version of WoW requires additional prerequisites:
You need a processor that is 64-bit capable
Your operating system must also provide the 64-bit version.
Windows 10 would be available as such a 64-bit operating system. But older systems like Windows 7 to 8 can usually be upgraded to 64-bit for free. It’s best to inform yourself on the Microsoft Support page.
64-bit is the new standard
Why does Blizzard suddenly want 64-bit? According to Blizzard, the 32-bit version is outdated and not able to meet the developers’ requirements. The official statement is as follows:
The limited memory capacity of 32-bit operating systems can affect the playability and stability of many modern games, and 64-bit operating systems have been the industry standard for several years. As was the case with previous expansions, Battle for Azeroth brings many technological innovations to WoW that will enhance the gaming experience. This is the right time to make this change.
We recommend switching to the 64-bit version of the game before July 1, 2018, to ensure your gaming experience in World of Warcraft is not negatively affected.
That’s Blizzard’s statement. Do you find all of this acceptable or is it frustrating you that you might have to upgrade your hardware and software?
