What is No Man’s Sky? No Man’s Sky offers exploration of a surreal and colorful universe. The game is a sandbox game with no right path to follow. It is more of a journey of discovery. Before the release in 2016, there was a huge hype that the game could not live up to. Players were more than furious and quickly set No Man’s Sky aside.
What is NEXT? This update came in July and is twice the size of the entire base game with all expansions. A new hype was ignited. This time No Man’s Sky hit the mark, giving the entire game a graphical overhaul. Additionally, a “real” multiplayer was finally introduced, as well as freighters, and bases can now be built infinitely.
The contents of the Alola eggs in Pokémon GO have changed. The chance of encountering an Alolan Vulpix is now higher.
Trainers have researched: The community from TheSilphRoad has spent the last few days researching Alola eggs. They noticed that the distribution has changed since the addition of Alolan Diglett and Alolan Geodude. One Pokémon has even been completely removed.
Rattata no longer in Alola eggs
The research: On July 20, Alolan Diglett and Alolan Geodude were added as possible rewards for hatching 7KM eggs in Pokémon GO. Since that day, researchers from TheSilphRoad have hatched 450 fresh Alola eggs.
The results: This research has shown that the rarity values of the Pokémon from the Alola eggs have changed.
The chance of catching an Alolan Diglett, Meowth, Geodude, Sandshrew, or Grimer is roughly equal. The chance for these Pokémon as loot from a 7KM egg is about 19% each. The remaining 5% belong to Alolan Vulpix, which is the rarest monster in these egg rewards.
Goodbye: Rattata apparently no longer belongs in the pool of Alola eggs. During the research, not a single one hatched from an Alola egg. You can still find the monster in the wild. This should please many trainers, as Rattata was one of the monsters that frequently came from eggs. Players were already annoyed by getting the same monsters repeatedly.
More Vulpix = More Joy: The Alola form of Vulpix is one of the rarer finds in Pokémon GO. As the research from TheSilphRoad shows, the monster now appears more frequently as loot. The hatch rate has been slightly increased from 3.4% to 5%. Alolan Grimer is also coming out of the eggs more frequently now. Its chance has increased from 13.8% to 19%.
Ultimately, this change has brought more variety to the Alola eggs.
In the second phase of the “War of Thorns” event in World of Warcraft players finally learn how the World Tree Teldrassil is set on fire. However, the way this happens causes great discontent. Some direct their anger at the WoW author Christie Golden.
Insults and death threats: Especially players of the Horde faction are angry about the resolution of the conflict. Since the release of the “Warbringer” video for Sylvanas and the questline in Darnassus related to the War of Thorns, tensions have been rising.
Writers and developers are being insulted and receiving suicide demands. The threats are even directed at people who have nothing to do with the development – like the writer Christie Golden.
The burning Teldrassil – reason for the uproar.
The Horde is angry
The strong reactions are coming from the community in general, but especially Horde players feel attacked by the course of events. They fear that history is repeating itself and that they will be portrayed in a bad light again.
Attention! The following text contains spoilers for the “War of Thorns” event!
The Teldrassil is burning – out of hatred: The reason for the uproar is Sylvanas Windrunner, Warchief of the Horde. In a recently released video, which can be seen during the questline related to the “War of Thorns,” she ignites Teldrassil, the home of the Night Elves.
The tree burns and takes hundreds of innocent civilians with it to their death. On the Alliance side, players in WoW try to save the innocents but fail in their attempt. Sylvanas’ motive is purely hatred, as the video shows.
Horde players are forced to assist in the questline of the “War of Thorns” with Sylvanas in her act. Therefore, a genocide is now officially attached to the hands of the entire Horde.
Why this presents a problem: Such an action probably wouldn’t have caused such an uproar if it had not happened before. In Mists of Pandaria, the then Warchief Garrosh Hellscream acted similarly.
Hellscream destroyed Theramore with a mana bomb – thereby turning Jaina Proudmoore into the bitter person she is today. Garrosh’s image worsened throughout the expansion until he served as the last raid boss.
The Horde had to eliminate their own Warchief and admit that they had long been on the side of evil. This story is now in danger of repeating itself.
Some are actually escalating on Twitter and telling well-known WoW authors that they should kill themselves. The tweets have since been deleted. Here are some of the “milder ones.” (via mmo-champion.)
Community fights back against the hate: Although some players are upset and overreacting, some members of the community are also trying to smooth things over. In forums and on reddit, fans are calling for not to react so harshly.
They want to distance themselves from the calls for suicide, defend Christie Golden, and show that the community does not hate the developers and Christie – especially since Christie Golden herself had nothing to do with the videos. The “Warbringer” story was developed before she came on board.
Golden is likely serving as a lightning rod for the anger of some parts of the community.
All the Warbringer pieces where well into development before I came on board.
Zenimax Online is currently in a generous mood. Players of The Elder Scrolls Online will be showered with many valuable items for logging in daily throughout August 2018. Does the release of Battle for Azeroth in WoW have anything to do with it?
Since Summerset, there have been login rewards for The Elder Scrolls Online. Players who log in every day can expect valuable login rewards at the end of the month. Zenimax aims to retain players in ESO this way.
However, Zenimax is particularly generous in August. Players will receive valuable Crown items after just a few days.
Almost too much of a good thing
Abundant Crown Crates: Players can receive a total of 11 free Crown crates throughout the month if they log in regularly.
After 14 days, players receive 3 Scrolls of Learning with 150% more experience gain.
Day 17 is especially worthwhile. You can open 4 Crown Dwemer crates at once.
From day 18, you will receive another Crown Dwemer crate every day.
The Crown Dwemer crates contain numerous items thematically related to the Dwemer race. Especially the mechanical mounts are real eye-catchers. If you like the Dwemer items, it’s especially worth logging into ESO in August.
“I love these login rewards”
Players think it’s great. Fans appreciate this spontaneous generosity from Zenimax. Such good rewards for daily logging in have never been seen before. Especially the 11 Crown crates and the riding hours are generating excitement among fans.
Thank you, Blizzard. Some players believe that these great login rewards might have something to do with the August release of the new WoW expansion Battle for Azeroth. They suspect that Zenimax aims to keep players in ESO, preventing them from migrating to WoW.
A player on Reddit thanks Blizzard directly for the wonderful login rewards. He hopes Blizzard will also release an expansion in September so that Elder Scrolls Online players receive more great login rewards.
The Solstice of Heroes is now live. These armors, Sparrows, emotes, ghost shells, and exotic ornaments can be claimed as event rewards during the summer festival in Destiny 2.
On the evening of July 31, 2018, the Solstice of Heroes began. With this seasonal summer festival, Destiny 2 wraps up its first year before the launch of the Forsaken expansion on September 4, kicking off the second year.
During the Solstice event, Guardians can celebrate their past achievements and accomplishments in Destiny 2. Players can advance their triumph moments and earn numerous new event rewards.
We have summarized the coolest reward highlights for you in an overview.
These rewards are available for the Solstice of Heroes – The Highlights
How can I get them? The event-specific rewards can be earned from the Solstice engrams of the Eververse. After a gift engram at the beginning of the event, you will receive a Solstice engram in addition to the regular Glimmer engram at each level-up of your Guardian.
Knock-Out List: There will be an active knockout system. This means: You will receive new items from the event engrams until you have collected all Solstice event items. Only then will there be duplicates.
All earnable: These event rewards can all be earned in-game. Although there is a large selection in the Eververse that includes a rotating assortment of these items, purchasing with Silver Dust is purely optional.
With enough playtime and with the help of the knockout system, you can access all event rewards without spending a single cent or any Silver Dust.
Exotic ornaments of the Solstice of Heroes
As part of the Solstice of Heroes, four new exotic ornaments can be earned – all for weapons:
SUROS Regime
Jade Rabbit
Storm
Merciless
Armor Glows for the Event Armor Sets
For the event armors of the Solstice of Heroes, there is a cosmetic glow effect for each armor piece – in all three elements.
For example, using an Arc glow with a suitable Arc focus will further enhance the glow effect. Once an effect is unlocked, all three classes can use it with their event armors.
Emotes of the Solstice of Heroes
There are a total of 10 new event gestures for the Solstice of Heroes: two exotic, five legendary, and three rare.
Festival Dance
Fishing
Ghost Shells of the Solstice of Heroes
The ghosts are also getting new shells. In total, there are eight new examples – two of them exotic.
Rogue Sun
Archipelago Heights
King Sphere
Authorized Misconduct
Headlines
Sparrows from the Solstice of Heroes
In total, there are ten new Sparrows to grab during the event – nine of them in the Eververse (currently only eight are displayed).
The event armors are not available through the Eververse, but from the Statue of Heroes in the festively decorated Tower.
These sets are available in three quality levels. Throughout this summer festival, you can upgrade them step by step – even to a masterwork version with a power level of 400, which can activate the appearance of all previous sets as an ornament.
The Behemoth releases on Thursday, August 2, in Monster Hunter World. It is part of the fourth major, free update and originally comes from Final Fantasy. In addition to the event quest, there are also quite a few bug fixes. This is a collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and MHW.
When is the Behemoth coming? The update arrives on August 2.
What time will the update be available? Probably tonight, from Wednesday to Thursday, at 2 a.m. There is no official confirmation for this, but previous updates have been released during this timeframe.
What comes with the 4th free DLC?
A new monster: The Behemoth
Dragoon armor from Final Fantasy XIV for hunters
A new insect glaive, the Gae Bolg – A weapon of the Dragoons
A Palico Moogle armor
A baby Behemoth skin for Poogie
Cactuars from Final Fantasy appear
A long list of bug fixes
How long will the Behemoth be in the game? The Behemoth will be available permanently starting with the update. It will not disappear, like the Kulve Taroth.
What came with the last DLC? The last DLC included Lunastra, the Flame Empress. She was released at the end of May and has been fighting alongside her mate Teostra since then.
Fight the Behemoth like a boss enemy in an MMORPG
What kind of monster is the Behemoth? The Behemoth originally comes from the Final Fantasy franchise. In the MMORPG, the beast is a feared opponent. It has notably long horns and an extremely muscular body.
What is special about the Behemoth? The fight against the monster will play out like in a classic MMORPG. You will have to build and maintain aggro. This means that one player will draw the monster’s attention to themselves.
What should be considered in the fight against him? A defensive build will be important against this monster to maintain aggro. At least one should be in the team. Teamwork will be significant for this fight, as the Behemoth was designed for a group of four players. As a special trick, the Behemoth lets meteors fall from the sky.
More from Final Fantasy: Dragoon Armor and Moogle Set
Dragoons are dragon-slaying warriors: These warriors are known for being closely tied to dragons and even using them as mounts. The armor of the Dragoons resembles a dragon, with many scales and spikes. You can farm such armor through the fight against the Behemoth.
Dragoons also fight with a spear that allows them to launch into the air. Perfect for being implemented as an insect glaive in Monster Hunter World.
What is a Moogle? Moggles are a race in Final Fantasy and are considered the mascots of the franchise. They are recognized by their large pom-pom on their head and usually have bat-like wings. Their exclamation “Kupo” is particularly famous. You will receive such a Moogle as an Alpha set for the Palico from the quest.
You can craft these armors during the event. The Moogle set for the Palico is shown in the top left.
Cactuars will wreak havoc in the area
Cactuars are the new Gajalaka: In Final Fantasy, Cactuars are recurring enemies that look quite funny. The cacti are more dangerous than they appear and should definitely not be underestimated. They especially enjoy shooting their spikes at their opponents.
Bug Fixes Ahoy! The update brings a lot of bug fixes
Capcom has focused on detailed bug fixes in this update. A number of specific bugs have been resolved.
Some weapons have been corrected: For instance, regarding the hammer: “A bug has been fixed which caused a Charged Rising Slash to trigger when a Spinning Strong Rising Slash was attempted to be charged and triggered while running down a slope (before starting to slide).” Additionally, bugs for Morph Axe, Energy Blade, Bow, and Slingshot have been fixed.
Bug fixes for effects, abilities, items, and monsters: Even more specific bugs have been addressed. For example, bugs with the capes have been corrected, where the usable time of capes was reduced during animations such as tracking.

The user numbers and active players on Steam are declining. This could be related to PUBG and Fortnite. But why?
In summer, less is happening: It’s no surprise that Steam user numbers decrease in summer. After all, good weather lures many people outside instead of in front of the PC.
However, in recent months, the numbers have significantly dropped. We show you what PUBG and Fortnite might have to do with it.
Fewer users, fewer players
Data analysis: On Twitter, the account of Steam Spy, a source for data analyses of Steam games, states that the platform’s numbers are declining.
“The number of people playing games on Steam or even just using Steam has been declining since January 2018. The share of users who play is also decreasing, from 38% to 31%.”
After new highs: Is a low coming?
Over 18 million: In January 2018, Steam had a record number of users. More than 18.5 million people were recorded in the SteamDB database on January 14, 2018. Then it went up and down repeatedly, but more down.
The 18 million users on the weekend held until March 2018
By the end of March 2018, only 17 million users were recorded as a weekend peak
By the end of April 2018, the trend was moving towards 16 million users
On weekends in May 2018, there were regularly 16 million users online. This continued until the beginning of July
Exception on June 23 and 24 – More than 17 million users were online. This was the first weekend after the launch of the Steam Summer Sale 2018
Since July, the numbers have been dropping even more sharply. On the last Sunday, July 29, there were only just under 15 million users online at peak times
About 3.5 million users have therefore been lost since January
January 2018 was a record month: In the graph, you can also see that January 2018 brought particularly high numbers for Steam. In January 2017, the peaks were around 14 million players. About 4 million fewer than in January 2018.
The record height in January this year can be explained by the fact that PUBG left Early Access at the end of December and launched successfully. PUBG became a kind of “ultimate Steam game” in 2017.
PUBG – Likely playing an important role
Big hype at launch: The release of PUBG was celebrated by many players. The Battle Royale was well-received in Early Access and broke player records on Steam. Many wanted to be there for the launch.
It is therefore not unlikely that many gamers installed the Steam software and became part of the community just because of PUBG.
Important part of the record: When Steam recorded 18.5 million players on January 14, 2018, a solid 3.1 million of those were PUBG players. The peak of PUBG’s player numbers was 3.2 million on January 13.
Going downhill again: PUBG’s player numbers have steadily decreased since the peak for months. Currently, the active players number around 1.2 million. Compared to the peak, this is a loss of 2 million players. More than half of the 3.5 million players that Steam has recorded since January 2018 have been lost.
Fortnite – Are the Steam users here?
A new boom: In addition to the decline of PUBG, there’s a second phenomenon: the rise of Fortnite. This has been happening since January 2018.
When the Battle Royale mode of Fortnite was released in September 2017, it didn’t interest many people. But as the months went by, more and more players dived into the free BR game. Fortnite picked up speed continuously towards the end of 2017 and has been unstoppable since the beginning of 2018.
Google Trends shows the search inquiries for Fortnite; starting from January 2018, the significant upswing began, which has continued ever since.
Everyone wanted to try Fortnite. The colorful alternative to PUBG has no entry price. Anyone who wants to try Battle Royale can do so for free in the version from Epic Games. But not on Steam, rather in its own launcher.
It is suspected that many Steam users are now online at Fortnite instead.
Brawlhalla employee: Fortnite affects everything
Fortnite is to blame for Steam numbers: In response to the tweet from Steam Spy discussing the low numbers on Steam, Matt Woomer spoke up. He is Managing Director at Mammoth Games, the creators of the free fighting game “Brawlhalla.” He says:
“The main reason [for the declining numbers on Steam] is Fortnite. Other possible explanations are Fortnite, Fortnite, or maybe Fortnite. With Brawlhalla, we see jumps in our numbers depending on seasons, updates, and the server status of Fortnite.”

Influence of Fortnite: According to Matt Woomer, it is therefore clear that Fortnite has a significant impact on the user numbers of games on Steam and thus the total count.
Is it the same for Fortnite fans among you? Is Steam just an alternative when nothing is happening in Fortnite?
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
To boost their children’s confidence and skills in Fortnite, well-off parents are now hiring coaches to provide their offspring with lessons in the shooter. One can pay up to $50 an hour. Some fathers even take lessons themselves.
Who offers this service? There have been coaches for certain video games for a while now. And there have been sites like Bidvine or Gamer Sensei, which connect players with professional coaches for Hearthstone or FIFA. This is nothing new.
However, the usual customers of the coaches are young-at-heart adults in their 20s and 30s, who spend their own money to become better at these games. They lack the time to keep up but have plenty of money to improve.
They are usually ambitious and thrive in their jobs. Still, they are tired of losing to their old friends who have more time for gaming than they do. Therefore, they are willing to spend some money to be coached by a professional and thus improve.
Children need to be good at Fortnite due to social pressure
New phenomenon since March: But now there is a different audience. Parents are paying for the coaches out of their own pockets so that the children can become better at Fortnite. Since March, Bidvine has already hired 1400 Fortnite coaches.
Reason Social Pressure: As the Wall Street Journal reports, parents pay for various reasons to help their children improve:
A project manager says with concern: Her 10-year-old son is under social pressure, not only to play Fortnite but also to be good at it. She has paid for her son four hours at $50. He is now afraid his friends will think he is cheating because he has suddenly improved so much.
My child will become an eSports professional and pay for my retirement
Reason Future Investment: A software developer from Texas pays for his son’s Fortnite tutoring for another reason. He is like an ambitious “sports dad.” He believes his son can become good enough to be a Fortnite eSports player later and make money at tournaments.
He is not alone in this idea. Another father, who works at Twitch, hopes that one of his three sons can make it to professional status. Then he could pay for his retirement.
Some want to keep up with their kids
The reason is fun: Other parents enjoy playing Fortnite with their children and want stronger team partners. A father from Georgia gifted his son an hour of lessons for his birthday, trained alongside him, and realized how much it helped.
Then ambition took over. Now he regularly takes lessons together with his son. This also strengthens the father-son relationship.
Another father, a software engineer from California, only wanted to be good enough to keep up with his kids. However, they rejected that and even teased him for taking lessons.
But dad persevered, and now the training is slowly bearing fruit. The 11-year-old son finds this not very funny. He does not want to live in a world where his father is better at Fortnite than he is.
This is what the trainers say: For the paid eSports trainers, who charge between $20 and $50 an hour, this situation is somewhat confusing. One is quoted as saying: “This feels surreal to me. My father would have never paid for this for me.”
Gaming comes into the mainstream, but it is probably something for high earners
What it’s about: The interesting thing is that many of the currently 10-year-old kids now have parents who grew up with video games themselves. And they understand this – it is not new territory for them. This shows that gaming is becoming mainstream simply due to the generational shift. Even if coaching may seem a bit strange.
It is also interesting that the parents who pay for their kids’ training have “well-paying jobs.” They probably do not have to stretch every euro twice.
Despite all the understanding and social pressure: For most regular earners, there are probably more important things than paying for their kids’ tutoring in video games.
In any case, it is a more pleasant approach to the topic than the bare panic that others spread:
With Rend, a new indie game that combines survival, adventure, mythology, and teamwork is on the horizon. Rend is now available in Early Access on Steam. Check out the Early Access trailer here!
Rend is a game set in a harsh environment that initially compares well with other, tougher survival MMOs like Conan Exiles. However, the mystical game world, firearms, and mythology give it a unique touch.
A player has achieved an exceptional performance in Call of Duty: World War II. More than 7,600 kills are now credited to him – and that, despite the fact that he is blind.
An exceptional achievement: YouTuber “tj the blind gamer” recently shared his accomplishments on Reddit, reporting that he has now recorded more than 7,600 kills in Call of Duty: World War II. Some may think that is not really something special. However, in this case, it truly is, because TJ sees nothing of the game. He is blind.
How did he accomplish this feat? He revealed this in an interview with Kotaku.
Headset and helpful in-game features make playing possible
Previously an enthusiastic CoD fan: Even before he lost his eyesight, TJ was an avid Call of Duty player. The now 19-year-old began his CoD career at the age of 8 in the “World at War” zombie mode, then switched to the multiplayer of Modern Warfare 2. At that time, he was already blind in one eye and wore glasses.
He continued playing the Call of Duty franchise until Black Ops 2, but returned to Black Ops 3, even though he had already lost his sight in both eyes by then.
tj the blind gamer
Headset and helpful perks are the secret
How do you play without being able to see? According to him, the adjustment was really tough. He was not used to using a headset. But he was now highly dependent on it. Because environmental sounds, like the buzzing of a lamp or weapon sounds, as well as certain settings and perks in Black Ops 3 serve as a random but significant help for many players with disabilities:
For example, the perk “Awareness” can enhance the sound and range of enemy footsteps.
“Sixth Sense” creates an audio effect for players with limited vision and a visual effect for hearing-impaired fans.
And the perk Tracker helps players with poor eyesight.
The recently added Alexa Skill proves to be extremely helpful. This allows for voice input to be given and received. Alexa, according to TJ, helps to gain more information in a non-visual way.
What can Call of Duty do better? When TJ was asked how Activision could make the Call of Duty experience more accessible for players with limited vision, he expressed numerous ideas.
He would like a dedicated audio effect for all objectives in the game. This would mean that flags, tags, or bombs would send a constant audio signal, making it easier for affected players to find them.
A screen reader function would also be desirable. This would allow all text on the screen to be read aloud. Currently, blind or visually impaired players rely on someone else to read texts, like weapon names, to them.
What are TJ’s future plans? In the short term, he wants to break the 10,000 kill mark. Because he has not heard of any blind person achieving that. He also hopes to be the first blind player to reach the master prestige level in Call of Duty: WW II.
And when he is not playing Call of Duty, he enjoys playing Diablo 3 – a game that, according to him, is particularly accessible for fans with limited vision.
By the way: If you want to learn more about TJ, you can visit his YouTube channel.
The new cinematic in World of Warcraft has received a “meh” response from many players. Especially fans of the Horde are struggling to remain loyal to their faction.
Yesterday, we reported that Blizzard released a new cinematic for World of Warcraft. In “Warbringer Sylvanas,” players witnessed not only Sylvanas’ past but also the burning of Teldrassil and how it came about. Especially players of the Horde are disappointed and actually angry with Blizzard. For them, it’s clear: the Horde under Sylvanas is now purely evil.
“Morally Grey”? – Rather Pitch Black
Many players clung to the statements of the developers that Sylvanas’ actions had a “moral gray tone” – meaning they are indeed objectionable and dark, but that there is something positive and comprehensible in them.
All these hopes were shattered by the cinematic.
For many players, Sylvanas is now just a “Garrosh 2.0”. She shows no mercy and commits genocide against the Night Elves while the Horde stands behind her and lets it happen.
For some Horde players, this is a step in the wrong direction and no longer “their Horde,” to which they want to belong.
This can also be seen wonderfully on YouTube. While “Warbringers: Jaina” only received 2% negative ratings, “Warbringers: Sylvanas” is hovering around almost 25% negative ratings.
Arguments for Sylvanas’ Behavior
However, there are also some players who believe that Sylvanas’ behavior is entirely consistent with her character. Her goal was to take Teldrassil and kill Malfurion to cut the Alliance off from Azerite and to break the will of the Night Elves sustainably.
Since she misses Malfurion (or rather lets him escape, as it is portrayed), Teldrassil is of little value, as the Elves would always have hope for recapture.
So she makes the only decision that makes sense to render Teldrassil and the Night Elves in Kalimdor permanently harmless: She sets Teldrassil on fire, ruining the city for both factions.
A Secret Was Not Revealed
Another reason for the frustration is the fact that there was no big, dramatic revelation or unexpected twist. Many players had speculated that Teldrassil wasn’t burning by Sylvanas’ direct order, but that it would be due to another incident. There were many theories, about who could actually be responsible for the fire, such as the involvement of the Naga.
That the answer is now the most obvious solution disappoints many fans – even though Blizzard never explicitly stated that it would be a big secret.
It took only a few hours, and Reddit and social media were full of memes and cynical comments that have taken Blizzard, Sylvanas, and Horde players to task. For example, a reminder to Blizzard about what exactly “morally grey” means:
Others claim to recognize Blizzard’s narrative style and have created a recurring cycle – of course with a suitable “You are here” indication (Click to enlarge).
Additionally, there are posts titled “Here is an essay on why Sylvanas’ actions can still be considered ‘morally grey’.” After clicking, the short text reads: “Blizzard is colorblind.”
Christie Golden Experiences Hate – Totally Unjustified
Another victim of this shitstorm is author Christie Golden, who has been working for Blizzard for a few months. Right after the release of the video, there were numerous flames and hateful comments on Twitter, some ending in statements like “Just go kill yourself, you can’t write.” Most of these comments have since been deleted.
Aside from the fact that it’s not just absurd to wish death upon someone simply because a fictional character doesn’t do what one would like, Golden bears no blame in this matter. She quickly clarified that she did not work on the “Warbringer” videos. They had been in production long before Golden joined Blizzard.

Although many of the reactions from fans are exaggerated, inappropriate, and unreflective, it is clear that Sylvanas’ decision and the storyline that Blizzard has planned for the Horde are not well received. Numerous players are turning away from the Horde.
A final ray of hope is the yet-to-be-released cinematic “Warbringer: Azshara,” which may highlight points that have remained hidden so far. For many, this hope has already been extinguished, just like Teldrassil by Sylvanas.
What do you think about the progression of the story in World of Warcraft and Sylvanas’ decision? Do you stand behind the Horde and find the decision acceptable? Do you understand the insults that developers have to endure?
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
Recently, we presented you our five weapons from The Division 1 that we would like to see in The Division 2. You could choose your favorites from these. This is the quite clear result.
Last week, we showed you five weapons from part 1, which we hope will be present again in The Division 2. We also launched a survey among Mein-MMO readers, asking which of these five weapons would be your favorite.
The choices were the G36 assault rifle, the AUG submachine gun, the Big Alejandro LMG, the semi-automatic Urban MDR assault rifle, and the Bullfrog.
Weapons from The Division 1 in Part 2 – The G36 Assault Rifle is the clear winner
After about a week, we received 409 responses and are now evaluating them. This is the current result:
48 percent would most like to take the G36 to Washington D.C.,
in second place is the semi-automatic Urban MDR assault rifle with 21 percent,
followed by the Bullfrog assault rifle with only 11 percent, and
last are the AUG and Big Al’, which both received just 10 percent of the votes each.
Almost every second fan who participated in the survey prefers the G36 assault rifle.
The G36 Assault Rifle – Here’s why we want to see it in The Division 2
Here was our description of the G36 in last week’s survey article:
Where is the blueprint? The G36 is almost like a community wish on Mein-MMO. If you follow the weekly articles about the vendor reset you may have noticed the frequently repeated question about a blueprint for the G36. This has become something of a running gag.
In the meantime, the G36 was the top choice among the weapons: This wish does not come from nowhere. The G36 was not in The Division from the start, but was added with patch 1.3. It quickly became clear that it was the strongest weapon at that time. Therefore, the assault rifle was relatively quickly hit by the nerf hammer.
What makes the G36 a good weapon? Even after the nerf, this weapon was still among the expanded circle of the best assault rifles. The G36 has good base damage and is still the first choice for some agents primarily because of its good handling.
This change we would like to see: Unfortunately, the G36 has a characteristic that makes it difficult to get a good specimen. It comes standard with a fixed talent in the third slot. This talent is called Focused and is one of the most useless weapon talents in the game.
This means that with every drop or vendor offer, you have to hope that the other two talents are good, since Focused can be replaced by better alternatives. However, this requires a certain amount of luck.
This “feature” with the fixed talent should be reconsidered by Massive; at least these should be usable.
This is what Mein-MMO readers say about their wish weapons for The Division 2
You have also actively commented and expressed your wishes for certain weapons. We have picked out some excerpts:
Frystrike “wishes” for the G36 a “talent” where the weapon becomes inaccurate due to prolonged firing or high temperatures. We suspect this is a reference to the real problems with the G36.
Matima hopes for part 2 a shield with the inscription “No G36 Blueprint here!” that should be placed directly next to the vendor. Furthermore, pistols should gain more importance as they currently serve little purpose.
dirkrs wonders why Massive has never adjusted the remaining weapons. At present, only a few are really good, like the M4, the Showstopper, and The House. The rest of the selection would be “massive” inferior
Prometheus seems to agree with the survey result; next to the G 36, his favorite weapon, the MG5, and the M700 sniper rifle must not be missed.
Lukas Hartl would like to see the assault rifle variant of the AUG, which has a higher (5.56x45mm) caliber and a larger magazine than the submachine gun.
Marcel would like a completely new weapon: The FN P90. This is his absolute favorite weapon, also because it is used by SG-1 from Stargate.
Both the readers and we are curious about which weapons await us in The Division 2 and at the same time hope for a few new models.
In the hot summer month of August, there are also hot MMOs that are particularly worthwhile. The following games are especially recommended right now and invite you to play.
We have put together a list of games that we particularly want to recommend to you in August. This time we have a real MMORPG heavyweight, a long-awaited PC version, and a space game resurrected from the dead.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth – Horde or Alliance?
Finally a new WoW expansion: On August 14, it’s finally happening, and the classic MMORPG World of Warcraft is getting its seventh expansion, Battle for Azeroth. The war between the Alliance and the Horde flares up once again, and you can fight to your heart’s content.
What’s new in Battle for Azeroth?
Loads of new content: With Battle for Azeroth, a large wave of new content arrives in World of Warcraft. Among other things, there are:
WoW is for everyone: As expected from Blizzard, the new expansion is not aimed at a specific type of player. Rather, the developers want to find something for every taste.

“Tin Foil Hat players” perform crazy rituals in Black Desert that are supposed to positively influence their fate. One player once traveled across the world of Black Desert to successfully enhance an item.
Lengthy Process
Enhancing is tedious: Anyone looking to upgrade equipment to the highest levels TET or even PEN in Black Desert has to grind for a long time to obtain the needed materials. But even if all the required materials are collected, there is still a high chance that the enhancement process will fail.
With “Failstacks” to Success: That’s why players collect “Failstacks.” This is a passive buff that increases the chance that an enhancement process will be successful. Players receive “Failstacks” when the enhancement of an item fails.
If you want to dominate in PvP, unfortunately, you can’t avoid this lengthy enhancement process. Therefore, players also try to influence their fate beyond the “Failstacks.” They come up with the craziest ideas.

Once Across the World of Black Desert
Everything for RNGesus: The YouTuber Wooksley HD tried to impress the God of Probability, RNGesus, by embarking on a long journey. He “sacrificed” his lifetime by traveling across the world of Black Desert and performing the equipment enhancement at a specific location.
Who is RNGesus? The “figure” RNGesus, the God of Probability, has existed for several years. For some players, he determines whether they find a specific weapon or whether an enemy drops the desired rare items.
A Wild Plan: Wooksley HD wanted to swim across the ocean in Black Desert and then travel several kilometers on foot to reach a small group of islands in the east of the country. After making this sacrifice, he hopes that chance will be on his side.

A Small Adventure: However, the vast ocean presented Wooksley with all sorts of dangers. Storms haunted the player and made progress difficult. Other players steered around him with their ships, seeing him as easy prey.
Upon reaching land, the player could catch his breath, but still had to cross the desert. However, behind the desert awaited the player cool water and the long-awaited island.
The Long Journey is Worth It
Upgrade Successful: After a little more than four hours, the player arrived on the island. There, together with his Black Spirit, he performed the upgrade of his equipment to TET.
It seemed that the long journey had indeed pleased the God of Chance, RNGesus.
Players’ Opinions: The video resonates in the Black Desert community. Many players can identify with it, as they also struggle daily with Black Desert’s upgrade system.
Players joke about the obviously tongue-in-cheek video. The guide shown in the video would work in 100% of cases.
Other players believe that four hours could be spent more wisely.

“Tin Foil Hat Enhancement”: When players rely on certain rituals while enhancing equipment, this is called “Tin Foil Hat Enhancement.” These players swear by special methods that guarantee a successful enhancement.
One player recommends, for example, a specific music playlist to listen to while collecting “Failstacks”
Afterwards, players are to go to the tallest building nearby and enhance their equipment there. They should also listen to particular music during this time, as it increases the likelihood of a successful enhancement
Another player waits for players in his vicinity to successfully enhance items. Then, it seems to be his turn to try
One player draws a magic circle on the floor in his in-game house and “sacrifices” a guild member each time before enhancing an item.
Why are some players so superstitious? Obtaining resources to enhance is cumbersome. Players need to invest time. Not for nothing is enhancing equipment often compared to gambling. Players lose their resources and still try again, even though it costs them a lot of time to retrieve their lost items. It’s all or nothing.
A Konami representative sharply criticizes EA Sports’ Ultimate Team mode. The battle “FIFA 19 vs. PES 19″ is gaining momentum.
FIFA vs. PES: Year after year, the major football simulations from EA Sports and Konami compete for the favor of virtual soccer fans. While the FIFA series always comes with a plethora of licenses, Konami tries to impress with gameplay that is as realistic as possible.
This year, however, the situation for Konami and PES 19 seems particularly bleak: Because while Konami held the rights to the Champions League for the last ten years, EA Sports seized the opportunity this year and secured the licenses to the most important European cup competitions. The Champions League has so far been an important arrow in the quiver for PES in the battle against FIFA’s dominance.
Nevertheless, Konami remains confident: In an interview with Kicker, Jonas Lygaard, the Senior Director of Brand & Business Development at Konami, points out the strengths of Konami – and strongly criticizes EA’s FUT mode.
In FUT, fans are urged to spend as much money as possible
Players are pressured to spend money in FUT: According to Lygaard, the Ultimate Team mode “is clearly driven by getting consumers to spend as much money as possible.” EA has consciously chosen to do it differently (than Konami), Lygaard states.
By the way, Lygaard himself worked for EA as a business analyst for five years before moving to the competition. Now he criticizes his former employer.
What is the reason for this statement? The interview was conducted at the PES League World Championships in Barcelona. While EA pumps substantial prize money into its own eSports competitions yearly, participants in the PES League compete for a fraction of that prize money. However, authentic teams are utilized in the PES League – while in FIFA competitions, FUT teams featuring assembled super teams compete against each other.
In doing so, Lygaard refers to a topic that is also controversially discussed in the FIFA community. Many fans complain that only those users who invest a lot of real money can build top teams and participate successfully in competitions.
In FIFA’s Ultimate Team mode, players can buy so-called “Packs” with real money, which contain randomly selected players and other items to build their Ultimate Team.
According to Lygaard, this path will have consequences. Regarding the practices of certain developers, he says: “If you become complacent in your life or lazy about your development, or no longer push yourself, you will quickly see the reality and the impact of that.” Konami, on the other hand, does not sit back and say: “That’s good, we do it, and we’ll just change nothing about it.”
PES 19 is fighting for more relevance
Why Lygaard uses these words is clear. The release of PES 19 is approaching, and such clear statements do not hurt. In his opinion, PES 19 is the better simulation anyway, as it features real teams and not fantasy teams.
However, whether fans of virtual football will let these statements influence their purchasing decisions is questionable. The FIFA series has had significantly larger sales figures in recent years. And as EA Sports continues to secure lucrative licensing deals, it seems unlikely that anything will change soon. Nevertheless, PES 19 continues to fight for more relevance.
The future will tell: The gameplay of the two football simulations has divided opinions for years. Some swear by PES, others by FIFA. From August 8th, the demo of PES 19 will be available, followed by the FIFA 19 demo in mid-September. Then everyone can form their own opinion on how the gameplay differs.
Many features of the football simulations are still not known. FIFA 19, for example, will present numerous innovations only at Gamescom 2018. Nothing is yet known about FUT 19.
Whether FIFA 19 or PES 19 will ultimately be the better football simulation remains to be seen.
FIFA 19 will be released on September 28, or on September 25, 2018, with early access. PES 19, on the other hand, will hit the market nearly a month earlier, on August 30, 2018.

The release of Pandir (Spinda) in Pokémon GO is getting closer. A data miner found that there were important changes.
What is Pandir? Pandir is a Pokémon that can appear in different forms. Similar to Unown, these forms differ visually.
What has changed? The data miner Chrales regularly provides the Pokémon GO community with news. In a stream, he showed on Tuesday evening that Pandir is now server-side present in Pokémon GO.
Pandir/Spinda in Pokémon GO with 8 forms
Server-side, not in the wild: The changes that Chrales pointed out do not mean that you can now find Pandir in the game. Rather, it is considered another important step that would be necessary for a release. However, since further requirements must still be met, a release is likely still a long way off.
With 8 forms: The different forms of Pandir differ by the spots on the head of the Pokémon. As PokéWiki writes, there are over 4 billion possibilities for how the spots on Pandir’s head can be arranged. However, in Pokémon GO, they are initially limited to eight forms. In the following overview, you can see the different forms:
Is there a release date for Pandir? No. The new information does not indicate when Niantic will release Pandir.
First data found back in March: During data mining for update 0.95.3, first traces of Pandir were found. This was in March 2018.
Waiting for Niantic: It remains to be seen when Niantic will release the major announcement regarding Pandir. Players are actually waiting for further news about Celebi or additional news about the leak of Generation 4.
Event Pokémon gone again: The Summer Pikachu has packed its sunglasses and straw hat and left Pokémon GO.You could find it in recent days to celebrate the second anniversary of Pokémon GO.
No Shinys: To the surprise of many trainers, the Summer family of Pikachu was not active in its Shiny form. Whether Niantic wanted to save the Shinys for another event is still unclear.
The creators of Aion are hiring developers for a new game. What is being created in Korea?
NCSoft is hiring new employees: The Korean game giant NCSoft is looking for new employees with a job posting for a “strictly secret MMORPG.” It is intended to be a next-generation MMORPG based on Aion.
Aion 2 – is that possible, or is something else coming?
There is currently no detailed information about the upcoming game. Only that it will be programmed with Unreal Engine 4 and the sought-after animator is to design characters, monsters, and animations for the development concepts.
This is why it could be Aion 2: In June 2017, the Chinese publisher of Aion announced that Aion 2 would eventually come. At that time, however, they were still creating game content for Aion, and Aion 2 was still a long way off.
Aion 2 was already in a “conceptual phase” back then. Given that this information was spread over a year ago and things have been relatively quiet around Aion, work on a successor is not unlikely.
This could be something else: So far, it is only known that the project is based on the “intellectual property” of Aion, meaning it will have some connection to the game. However, it does not necessarily have to be a sequel in the form of Aion 2.
It is also possible that it will be a large expansion for Aion, a parallel game from a different perspective, or even a prequel.
Fans are excited – but cautiously: The reaction on sites like mmorpg.com from the fans is positive but not unrestrained. Many fans are happy that something is finally happening with Aion, and they are eager for new content of any kind.
Others, however, point out that NCSoft likes to implement cash shops and fear a new Pay2Win game. Nevertheless, the news pleases the community, and they are eagerly waiting for more information about the upcoming game.
Even though FUT generates the most revenue for EA Sports, many players buy the latest FIFA installment primarily because of the classic career mode.
A leak has been circulating on the internet for several days, promising several changes regarding the manager in the career. This aspect is supposed to come into focus. We provide you with our assessment of the rumors.
Manager Adjustments: A Custom Editor for the Coach
Finally design the coach yourself? According to the rumors, it will finally be possible to create your own manager in the career mode. This would move away from the generic, pre-made coaches. Twitter user @FUTMentor created their own concept related to the leaks:

Our assessment: In our previous article with fan requests for the career mode in FIFA 19, we expressed the opinion that a coach editor would not require much effort. After all, the option to create and customize players already exists. We believe that customizable managers in career mode are quite likely.
According to user reports, this feature has been confirmed by EA Sports producers. However, we do not have official sources.
Press Conferences: Using Statements as a Coach to Influence the Career
Interviews in career mode now too? In “The Journey”, the story mode featuring Alex Hunter, there are already interviews. If the rumors are to be believed, we will also be able to respond to questions from journalists in FIFA 19’s manager mode. This would tick another item off our wishlist for the coach career.

Our assessment: The career mode urgently needs more dynamism. Since media appearances now play a significant role in modern football, the career mode should also adapt. However, this innovation would likely require more effort than the manager adjustments. Therefore, we believe that press conferences are quite possible, but one should not get too excited too soon.
According to Twitter user FUT Mentor, this feature has also already been confirmed. However, we do not have confirmation from EA Sports.
It would also be interesting to have the option to conduct team talks in the locker room. How this could look – nothing has been confirmed here either – is shown by a concept from FUT Mentor:

What do we know about the career and other FIFA modes?
Pro Clubs: There is otherwise little information about the career, and no information about Pro Clubs. Therefore, we have listed 7 changes that the mode desperately needs.
Ultimate Team: The first icons have been confirmed, and EA wants to openly display the set contents for buyers. Otherwise, we will also have to wait a few more days for information here.
