The various versions of The Division 2 have been revealed in the Australian Windows Store. Three different editions are now available for pre-order. We show you what bonuses will be included.
The Division 2 will likely have at least three different editions. Australian fans can now pre-order the Standard, Gold, and Ultimate Editions there. Via reddit, a fan shared links to the Australian Microsoft Store where these editions are now available.
These will probably be presented to us during Gamescom. The Australian website already displays the pre-order bonuses and additional content for the respective editions.
You will receive this if you pre-order The Division 2: If you order the Standard and Gold Editions, you will receive guaranteed access to a “Private Beta”. Additionally, there is the “Capitol Defender Pack”.
Pre-orderers of the Ultimate Edition will receive a discount on the purchase price, as all content is included anyway.
What is the Private Beta? That The Division 2 would receive a beta was already known since its reveal at E3. Right after the press conference, one could register for the beta.
The fact that a Private Beta is to be held over pre-orders is a bit strange. Probably access for non-pre-orderers will be drawn from registered fans.

7 days early access to the DLCs of the first year,

99.95 AUD for the Standard Edition,
145 AUD for the Gold Edition
160 AUD for the Ultimate Edition

Blizzard has revealed Mephisto’s abilities for Heroes of the Storm. And they are likely to be really annoying for enemies.
Just yesterday (August 20, 2018), there was a blunder on the German Twitter account of Heroes of the Storm. Shortly after, Blizzard took action and officially announced the next hero Mephisto. Mephisto is one of the three prime evils from the Diablo universe and will appear in HotS as a ranged assassin.
Mephisto’s passive ability is Lord of Hatred. When he hits enemy heroes with basic abilities, the cooldowns of those abilities are reduced. The more heroes he hits, the more the cooldown is reduced.
His first ability is Skull Missile. After a short delay, Mephisto fires a projectile that hits all enemies in a straight line. They take damage and are slowed for a few seconds.
Lightning Nova creates a ring of lightning around Mephisto for a few seconds. Enemies who come into contact with the lightning take damage. The more enemies hit by the lightning, the greater the damage dealt.
Mephisto’s third ability is Mephisto’s Shadow. He teleports to a target location and deals damage in a small area around him. After a few seconds, Mephisto is automatically teleported back to his starting point – even if he is stunned.
His first heroic ability is Consume Souls. The spell reveals all enemy heroes while it is being channeled. Once the spell is completed, all enemy heroes take damage and are slowed.
Mephisto’s second heroic ability is Prison of Hatred. Mephisto hurls a projectile in a straight line after a short delay. The first enemy hit takes damage and is immobilized. An aura spreads from this hero, also immobilizing other opponents.

Mephisto appears to be a very agile character with a very high skill cap. In skilled hands, he will surely sow much death and destruction – and ruin more than a few days.
What do you think of Mephisto and his abilities? Is he a cool character that you want to play soon? Or are you not interested at all?
Players were supposed to be able to download Update 5.30 for Fortnite today. However, as Epic recently announced, that won’t be happening. The challenges for Week 7 will also come later. When will the patch and challenges be available this week?
Completing all weekly challenges in the currently ongoing Week 7 rewards players with the legendary Roadtrip skin, about which nothing is known yet. At the same time, Update 5.30 is supposed to fix a particularly annoying bug.
Traps no longer consistently deal damage and are useless in their current state. Videos of frustrated players giving up a victory at the last moment because their trap didn’t trigger are piling up on the game’s subreddit.
The Fortnite update is not coming today, but on Thursday
When is Update 5.30 coming? As Epic states on Reddit, Update 5.30 will be rolled out on Thursday, August 23. This is actually the day when the new challenges are released.

Even though the challenges for Week 7 are already known, you will have to wait until Friday, August 24, before you can dive into the fray to activate the legendary Roadtrip skin.
Why is everything delayed this week? In the last Season 4, the legendary Blockbuster skin was leaked two days before the challenges required to unlock it were made available. Epic seems to want to reduce data mining by at least one day.
The Visitor (Reward from Blockbuster Challenge)
However, it is also possible that Epic simply needs more time to fix bugs or is even searching for a way to completely suppress data mining, at least regarding such surprise skins.
What else will be new this week? An Epic employee dropped the following hint on Reddit:
“Are you a player on the go? Carry an escape plan in your back pocket with a new item making it’s way to battle royale.”
Translated loosely, this means: Are you a mobile player? Always carry an escape route in your inventory with this new item in Fortnite: Battle Royale!
Is this a hint at a mobile Rift? Epic is aware of the popularity of the Rifts scattered across the map, which are likely to disappear with the end of Season 5 (similarly to the bounce pads in Season 4). Coincidentally, a concept for such a mobile and one-time use Rift has surfaced on Reddit a few days ago.
The likelihood is high that Epic will announce this new item in-game shortly.
What do you think? What is hiding behind the new item?

Not everything in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is convincing. We highlight a few aspects that need more refinement.
Even though Battle for Azeroth is well-received by most WoW players, there are still a few minor criticisms. I want to list some aspects that still don’t work perfectly and should be revised by Blizzard.
My biggest annoyance is the secondary profession of archaeology. The basic features are, as in the last addons, present again. You venture into the world, collect fragments at excavation sites, and craft items from them, hoping to get one of the rare toys. That works. The rest, however, does not.
Occasionally, you create (as before) special “flawless” versions of the relics. You can exhibit these at the archaeology trainer in Boralus and view them repeatedly. In theory.
In reality, however, the house of the archaeology trainer is not designed in a way that would make any sense. You place relics in the middle of bookshelves, so they protrude through cabinets and chairs. Some things are simply placed in the air, where they then float in the middle of the room.
Yes, the box has to be placed like this. Floating on the chair. Beautiful.
It seems as if the developers changed the interior design of the house at the last minute and forgot that players should be placing objects here.
Bugged resources galore
Already when digging for fragments in archaeology, I noticed it, but miners also confirmed it to me: Many resources spawn “in the ground” – meaning at a place where you cannot click or mine them.
In archaeology, this was particularly silly in the Stormsong Valley. I had a excavation site where I couldn’t pick up six out of nine fragments because the clickable item appeared in the ground and thus was unreachable. That was frustrating and certainly not fun-enhancing.
And no, I am not talking about materials that are simply “in a cave” – but actually about ores that were so bizarrely placed that you cannot click on them.
I can only hope that Blizzard fixes this soon – but I’m optimistic.
Treasures that aren’t
My last point of criticism is the treasures that can be found in many locations. They have also gone through a strange development. In Legion, they were already neglectable, but now they are a bad joke. You find “treasures” that contain gray items worth 10 gold and additionally four to 15 war resources. These treasures have such little value that the detour is usually not worth it.
I do not expect treasures to reward excessively – but at least the word “treasure” should be appropriate. Because as they are, they are just annoying spots on the minimap.
But of course, this is all nitpicking at a high level. Overall, I am quite satisfied with Battle for Azeroth. However, I am bothered that some details simply seem to be “slapped together”, following the motto: We had this in the last addons, we need it now too – no matter how.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (XX) will be released on August 28 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Our author Leya was able to test the full version in advance. She was reminded again why Monster Hunter can be both frustrating and satisfying at the same time.
Monster Hunter World is one of the games that I closely monitor here at Mein-MMO and I enjoyed playing for countless hours. I haven’t played all parts of the franchise, but I’m rooted in the series. I particularly enjoyed Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate back in the day, which I loved playing on my Nintendo 3DS from bed.
I didn’t play Monster Hunter Generations quite as intensely, but that was mainly due to a lack of time. I was even more excited when a review key for the full version of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate landed in my inbox. Finally, I could dedicate myself to this title properly.
Thanks to World, I forgot the wonderfully motivating frustration of missteps
Monster Hunter World forgives my mistakes faster: The very first hunt for a large monster, the Great Maccao, immediately reminded me how brutal Monster Hunter can be. It’s a mix of ostrich, kangaroo, and lizard. This colorful creature kicks with its hind legs, which can knock you out cold if you’re not careful.
In Monster Hunter World, I have a Palico with me from the very beginning, who heals me. I can also move while drinking a potion or cancel my action. I completely forgot over all the time with Monster Hunter World how much of a difference it makes when you no longer have this.
The Great Maccao sits like a kangaroo on its tail and then brutally kicks.
The ambition and anger grow in me: This very brutality in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate makes me eager to take revenge on the monsters. That moment when I sip my healing potion and have to stand still, because that’s how it was in the older parts. That moment when I see the monster preparing for its charge.
That damn moment when I have to stand still and watch as I either get hit unconscious or at least take a hard blow in the next seconds. That frustration I then feel deep inside me is my drive to want to improve.
These strong emotions were mostly absent for me in World, even though I still consider it a brilliant game.
I will come back, my friend: Those who want to get better at Monster Hunter need to refine their equipment. Because you are what you wear and can do. I would have liked to give you a deeper insight, but the kangaroo-bird quickly took me down during my first playthrough. I need to farm some small stuff first to at least improve my equipment a bit.
Mizutsune is a leviathan in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate offers so much, but is cumbersome
More than 80 large monsters, 23 maps, G-Rank, hunting styles, even becoming a cat: Before I even started the actual hunt, I could spend a long time dealing with hunting styles and Palicos.
In Generations Ultimate, you can have two Palico companions with different skills. I can recruit them myself and give them abilities. Just the cat recruitment alone took quite some time. It’s even possible to become a Palico and go hunting with it.
With the hunting styles, you specialize in a particular combat style. Each style gives you various dodging actions, special attacks, and different hunting techniques. A lot of time can also go into experimenting and thinking here.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate gets my gray cells working again because I’m mentally occupied with the play style of my choice.
Returning to the old UI and its cumbersome nature is difficult: I like that I can really immerse myself in the game. However, it’s not that easy for me to go back from World to the old UI. Because it’s still much less clear and more complicated here than in World. It also irritates me to be confronted with loading screens again between the different zones on the maps.
But that’s just a matter of getting used to, which I’m happy to accept.
Valstrax is an Elder Dragon that essentially has jets in its wings.
I am also reminded of how impressive World actually is
Everything seems a bit silly now: The monsters in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate are super unusual and quirky. It’s fun to fight against them, and they have some tricky mechanics in store. However, when I compare this AI to the one in World, I realize that it does seem a bit silly.
In Monster Hunter World, the living ecosystem and the majestic monsters are a real centerpiece. They sometimes seem so alive and smart that it can be painful to hunt them. With the eccentric and more comic-like monsters in Generations Ultimate, I don’t hesitate to smash them to pulp. This does make me feel a bit more impressed by Monster Hunter World again.
World is a perfect entry point for beginners: Those who have just started with Monster Hunter World have just the right title. Because even if some things may seem cumbersome here, Generations Ultimate had to remind me that it can also be “worse.”
But this reminder of the “old” Monster Hunter feel is as frustrating as it is wonderful.
If you like, you can at least currently download a demo version of Monster Hunter Generations:
In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) the Tomatohead from Tomato Town disappeared at the beginning of Season 5. Now he is back, albeit in another form.
The Tomatohead has always been a landmark of the Fortnite world. The cheerfully grinning tomato face was prominently displayed on the pizza restaurant in Tomato Town. But then Season 4 ended and the rifts appeared. One of the first victims was the cheerful Tomatohead. And unlike the Durrr Burger, the tomato face never appeared in the real world.
The Tomatohead just before his end.
In the game itself, he was also gone, only a farewell message was still visible at his former location.
Tomatohead, but different
Dataminers predict the return of the Tomatohead: The dataminer @FNBRLeaks found something in the code of Fortnite last weekend that hints at the Tomatohead’s return. Allegedly, a tomato event would take place at midnight from August 19 to 20.
The Tomatohead is back: Indeed, a new rift formed over the now empty spot of the Tomatohead during the weekend. The Tomatohead appeared last Sunday (not at the predicted time).

Stone Tomato instead of Original: But whatever happened to the tomato face, it had changed. Instead of being large and red, the new version is made of stone, gray, and much smaller. One could almost think the tomato has rotted.
More tomato events predicted: Meanwhile, dataminers have noticed even more tomato events in the code. The next event is reportedly set to occur on August 27 at 8:00 PM according to the leak.
Are Tomatoheads a hint at the new plot? What the tomatoes are about is still completely unclear. Most likely, they have something to do with Fortnite’s next story.
Starting around Week 7, things heated up again in Season 4, and there were the rocket and events surrounding it. So, are we threatened with an attack of killer tomatoes in Season 5?
Destiny 2 Forsaken will feature a huge raid. Are we fighting a dragon in it – an Ahamkara?
When Bungie drums up excitement for upcoming expansions, they often release more information in advance than many guardians would like. For example, entire story missions, strikes, or exotics are revealed weeks before the actual release, leading some players to shake their heads, thinking they would rather discover this themselves in-game.
Raids as Great Secrets: However, the developers always keep one aspect of Destiny under wraps in their promotional frenzy: the raids. These remain a secret until the respective raid launch. Players should not know the bosses, mechanics, or puzzles beforehand.
Note: Spoilers ahead!
An image from the Forsaken raid?
What official information is there about the Forsaken raid?
With the Forsaken raid, Bungie is handling it similarly. The extensive group PvE activity should remain mysterious until release. Information about it is scarce.
However, a few tidbits of information are already known:
The new raid is supposed to fit thematically with the story of Forsaken – it is not a completely disconnected area in Destiny 2
The raid is expected to include more boss fights than any previous Destiny experience, meaning it should have at least five bosses (the Oryx raid had four with the Warpriest, Golgoroth, the Witches, and Oryx)
The raid is set deep in the heart of the Dreaming City, the endgame zone of Forsaken
The developers describe the raid as a mix of the Dreadnaught and the Glass Vault from Destiny 1
There will be plenty of puzzles and hidden areas
The raid is supposed to be “huge”
And: In the heart of the Dreaming City, that is in the raid, a “huge creature” awaits you

More leaks and rumors about the Forsaken raid: Recently a possible leak for Forsaken appeared, some of which confirmed a few details while other information was refuted. This leak had some concrete details about the raid, but should be taken with skepticism:
The raid is said to be called “Last Wish” and to have both a normal mode and a prestige mode
The raid boss is named “Dul Incaru, the Eternal Return” – although the leaker is not 100% sure of this
There is supposed to be a one-time challenge where players must complete the raid within 24 hours of its release
What do all these pieces of information have to do with a dragon as a raid boss?
Is a dragon waiting for the guardians? Putting all these pieces of information and leaks together, it could indeed be that a giant dragon is slumbering in the new raid. More precisely, an Ahamkara, a powerful and mysterious creature that is said to be dragon-like. Allegedly, all Ahamkara were wiped out during the great hunt. However, rumors have persisted that there may be a few surviving Ahamkara.
Why should an Ahamkara be in the raid? The first rumors of an Ahamkara in the raid originated from an article by Game Informer. In exclusive coverage, the site wrote that the dreaming city is comparable to a homeland of elves from a fantasy novel, which is threatened by a treacherous dragon, which has infected the heart of the land.
When mentioning “dragon,” many guardians immediately thought of the Ahamkara, whose appearance in the game they have been waiting for years. However, critics of the theory emphasized that Game Informer was merely making a comparison. Just as there will be no elves in Forsaken, there will be no dragons, so the statement goes.
But the Ahamkara theory is becoming clearer
Later, the aforementioned information about the raid surfaced, which now supports the Ahamkara theory:
A huge creature in the raid? Could be an Ahamkara!
The raid is set deep in the heart of the Dreaming City? According to Game Informer, the dragon has infected the heart of the land
A raid boss is female? Ahamkara can also be female and beautiful
The raid is called “Last Wish”? This raid name fits perfectly with the Ahamkara, as these dragons are said to have the ability to grant wishes. Once, guardians seeking knowledge and power sought out the Ahamkara for this reason
Additionally, this Warlock set was shown in a Forsaken trailer, which could also hint at an Ahamkara in Forsaken:
According to some guardians, the eye area of the helmet resembles the eyes of this Ahamkara seen in an official concept art:
It is a fact that many guardians wish for an Ahamkara in Destiny 2 and consider every little hint as proof that such a dragon will soon make its grand appearance. However, there are currently no official details on this.
Nevertheless, the current hints fit surprisingly well with the Ahamkara theory – and it would be a real shame if we don’t get to see such a being in Destiny 2 soon.
Black Desert Remastered expands the game with better graphics and a more beautiful soundtrack. Players can enjoy the big update this week.
The Black Desert Remastered update beautifies the graphics of the MMO. Additionally, a newly composed soundtrack aims to enhance immersion. Pearl Abyss has put in a lot of effort for the update and wants to remain among the “prettiest” MMOs.
Update is free for everyone
New features are not a must: Players do not have to pay anything for the new soundtrack and the enhanced graphics. Those who do not wish to use the improved graphics can continue to play Black Desert as usual. The new update simply adds new options. All players benefit from the new sound effects.
When does Remastered come out? On August 22, it will be ready. The new update will be applied then. Particularly impatient players who are on the test servers can already try out the new update.
Do I need a new graphics card for better graphics? Anyone wishing to use the new effects should have hardware for the graphic settings at a very high level.
The following system requirements are recommended to play Black Desert optimally:
Operating System: Windows 7 or later (64-bit) Processor: Intel Core i5-650 3.2GHz RAM: 8GB Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 970, AMD RX 480
These changes come with Black Desert Remastered
Improved graphics: With Black Desert Remastered, new visual effects find their way into the game.
The physics of the armors will be improved. Armors shine
Physically based lighting of objects is now possible. Additionally, there is improved post processing and nicer water
The game will receive nicer clouds and HDR rendering. HDR rendering is supposed to enable more realistic contrasts
Newly recorded music: Over 300 minutes of new music have been recorded for Black Desert Remastered. A total of 100 pieces have been revamped.
Bosses receive new sound and voice effects
New ambient sounds will be added. This should make the world of Black Desert feel even more real
In total, three orchestras from three different countries have contributed to the remaster of the soundtrack.
The YouTuber FluffyQuack created a comparison video that shows Black Desert with and without the new visual effects.

The next hero for Heroes of the Storm is Mephisto. The German Twitter channel for Heroes of the Storm has revealed the character’s appearance instead of giving a small teaser.
At Gamescom, Blizzard traditionally presents some small details that will be implemented in their games soon. For Heroes of the Storm, this means the announcement of a new hero. This should have been teased a little in advance via Twitter and sparked speculation. However, this time it has failed because Blizzard revealed too much: The next hero will be Mephisto.

Where did the leak come from? The source of the leak this time is the tweet from the German Twitter account for Heroes of the Storm. In the information of the small image, there was still the text “Teaser for Mephisto”, which pretty clearly confirmed who will enter the Nexus next. The tweet has since been deleted and re-uploaded without this information, but screenshots of it are still circulating online.
Who is Mephisto? In the universe of Diablo, Mephisto is one of the Prime Evils, the Lord of Hatred. His brothers are Baal and Diablo, who together continually represent adversaries in the games of the same name. Mephisto is also an important character in the backstory, entangled in many plots.
He is not only a powerful demon himself, but also the father of Lilith, who together with the Archangel Inarius is responsible for the birth of the Nephalem.
A surprise from Gamescom has already been ruined in advance. So far, however, it seems to not bother the fans, as they are looking forward to Mephisto.
Hope for more Diablo games. At the same time, the implementation of such an important Diablo hero leads to discussions about what else is planned for the Diablo franchise. After all, Blizzard only recently revealed that “several Diablo projects” are in the works. One of them is Diablo 3 for the Nintendo Switch. Other projects, such as a Diablo 4, are only being speculated about.
Are you already excited about Mephisto in Heroes of the Storm?

Every year before the release of a new FIFA title, EA Sports makes extensive changes to player ratings. The ratings generally determine how well a player performs on the field. In other words, the best players have the highest ratings.
Especially in the Ultimate Team mode, the player ratings at the release of FIFA 19 are crucial as the standard cards remain unchanged for months and set the tone for the upcoming FUT season.

In Fortnite, the presumed challenges for Week 7 are already known. Dataminers have reportedly discovered that you need to visit many different locations.
To unveil the new challenges in advance, dataminers have dug deep into the code. There, they found hints about the seven challenges for Week 7 of Season 5.
The following information comes from the sources StormLeaks and ToxicWave3. The information is provided without guarantee.
Meanwhile, the official challenges for Week 7, Season 5 are known:
The Free Challenges Without Battle Pass in Season 5, Week 7
Visit the center of named locations in a match (4): This task might become tricky in regular play. However, it should be easier in the 50s mode if you visit the locations on your side.
Search supply drops (3): This task is also very easy to accomplish in the 50s mode. Supply drops tend to drop frequently towards the end of the round.
Eliminate opponents with submachine guns (3): Since SMGs are currently very strong, it should be no problem to secure three kills with them. Just don’t confuse submachine guns with light machine guns; that’s a different challenge!
For These 4 Tasks in Week 7 You Need the Battle Pass
Deal headshot damage to opponents (500): This task could be a placeholder. The headshot challenge has been available once before. It’s quite possible that Epic will bring something completely different at the last minute.
Search chests at Lucky Landing (7): The usual collection task for chests. There should be enough of them at Lucky Landing.
Follow the treasure map from Pleasant Park (1): A new treasure hunt with a treasure map is on its way. There should be more leaks in time, for which we will then write a guide.
Eliminate opponents in Lazy Links (3): Lazy Links is a golf course in the northern part of the map. The area is very spacious, ideal for snipers.
It is not yet known which tasks will be designated as difficult and thus worth 10 points in the Battle Pass. Most likely, it will be the treasure hunt and the kill task.
More Info on Thursday
Caution, placeholder: The information from the leaks should be treated with caution. At least one of the tasks is very likely a placeholder and will certainly be changed.
This may also apply to all other challenges for Week 7. We will know more on Thursday, August 23.

Bonus Skin from Road Trip Will Be Revealed on Thursday
By the way, anyone who completes all tasks in Week 7 along with the previous six weeks can also grab the still secret bonus skin from the Road Trip Challenge starting Thursday. It’s going to be exciting!
Monster Hunter World was released on PC on August 9. Since then, a total of 10 million units of the action RPG have been sold when counting PS4, Xbox One, and Steam together. This applies to both digital and physical sales.
Monster Hunter World is the best-selling title in Capcom’s history. Six months ago, the action RPG celebrated its worldwide release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Here, the title made a big splash and received much praise from both the press and the community.
Console sales remain strong: According to Capcom, the new milestone of 10 million copies sold was not only achieved through the recent release on Steam. While this has contributed to making Monster Hunter World accessible to a wider audience, the console version is still said to be selling “robustly.”
Monster Hunter has now sold 50 million copies as a series
The first Monster Hunter was released 14 years ago: Monster Hunter World is the fifth main installment in the series. The first title was released in 2004. Since then, the franchise has especially seen success in Japan, as it was mainly released on handheld consoles. Nevertheless, Monster Hunter has been able to gain a loyal fan base worldwide.
50 million sales for the entire series: Along with the 10 million sales of Monster Hunter World, the entire series has now reached a total of 50 million units sold as of August 20, 2018.
Capcom speaks of a multi-platform strategy: Monster Hunter World managed to establish the series in the West, which can also be attributed to its sales on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Capcom itself refers to this as a multi-platform strategy that should strengthen Monster Hunter as a global brand. They want to continue to address the needs of players worldwide.
It certainly also includes that Capcom made some adjustments for Monster Hunter World to establish the title in the West.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is coming to Switch in August
Will the success of World impact Monster Hunter on Switch? On August 28, 2018, Monster Hunter will be released for the Switch. Monster Hunter Generations is part of the fourth generation of the series. The Ultimate version is an expansion that brings the more challenging G-Rank to the game. This is released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. It will be interesting to see to what extent the success of Monster Hunter World will affect sales here.
Cortyn draws a first conclusion about the story of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. And here, the Alliance wins clearly.
Battle for Azeroth has been released for a few days and has drawn many World of Warcraft players back. I too played through the story quite quickly and can now compare both sides, the Horde and the Alliance. And as hard as it is for me to say, I must say: The Alliance performs simply better in terms of story.
Spoiler warning:As this is about the story of both factions, there are certainly some small spoilers. You have been warned.
Two different conflicts
Two stories for the factions: In Battle for Azeroth, for the first time in a long time, not one but two stories are told – one for the Alliance and one for the Horde. Both factions try to gain the trust of a new party. The Horde wants the support of the Zandalari, and the Alliance wants Kul Tiras back in their ranks.
This looks cool and equal at first glance – but it is not. The story around Jaina Proudmoore with the emotional finale is narratively on a completely different level than everything the Horde has seen so far.
No bond for the Horde: Bwonsamdi, Talanji, and Rastakhan on the Horde side are all pretty cool characters that definitely have their right to exist. But it lacks the emotional bond and the many years of character development that, for example, a Jaina already has. As a result, the entire story of the Horde feels more like an action movie that relies only on spectacular special effects.
Little development with the Zandalari: It is cool and exciting to observe, but it leaves one unfulfilled. I am always happy to hear a voice line from Bwonsamdi, but all the characters seem to me like “the cool sidekick” of a main character who somehow is missing. The Horde simply lacks a character in the Zandalar campaign that has a similar significance as Jaina. There are simply no sympathetic figures with whom one can empathize.
Jaina, on the other hand, has 20 years of Warcraft lore behind her, is a character I have known for a long time and whose development I look forward to. A worthy counterpart here would have been Sylvanas, who has a similar popularity – but she would not fit into a dramatic “mother-daughter story”.
In the cinematic where Jaina and her mother play a major role, there is more emotion than in all the Horde quests combined. This does not make the Horde’s story “bad”, but simply not as significant as that of the Alliance, as it does not evoke feelings in the player.
The Alliance wins the story trophy – for now
Unknown story developments possible: However, one must keep in mind that some quest lines have not yet been unlocked. A few missions are tied to reputation requirements, such as in the War Campaign. It is quite possible that Blizzard will still pull a few secrets out of the hat.
However, this will probably not change my fundamental opinion about the majority of the “level content”. Here, the Alliance simply has the more emotional, better story. The Horde may have won the first steps of the war with the destruction of Teldrassil and the end of the Battle for Undercity, but in terms of story, it lags significantly behind.
Generally, I must say that I like the principle of a different story. It is a nice experience to experience a different plot on the side of the Horde than on the side of the Alliance – even if they operate on different emotional levels.
The Gamescom is starting and we from Mein-MMO and Webedia are on site, and this year we have something special in store for you. We want to bring the fair to your home – with the longest livestreaming program we have offered you so far.
On MAX – Monsters and Explosions (the joint Twitch channel of our editorial offerings GameStar, GamePro, Mein-MMO and IGN) we will broadcast from Tuesday, August 21 to Saturday, August 25, under the motto #GCMAX, daily for over nine hours of live programming in various slots.
When: August 21 to 25, each day starting at 3 PM What: #GCMAX Livestream from Gamescom With: Ann-Kathrin, Daniel, Fritz, Michi, Natascha, and great guests
The plan for #GCMAX
For the live streams during Gamescom, there are two teams:
In Cologne, the GameStar editors Michi, Natascha, and Daniel will stream from the Gamescom Camp on the banks of the Rhine. If you stay in the Gamescom Camp, you can celebrate and chat with us until the stream ends at midnight.
In the studio in Munich, the info team led by Maurice, Ann-Kathrin, and Fritz will bring you the games and demos from the fair with detailed analyses directly via stream to your home. While you can’t play yourself, you also don’t have to stand in line for hours like the fans in Cologne.
This is the schedule
Starting at 3:00 PM: Every day kicks off at 3 PM with a relaxed warm-up from the camp in Cologne. The hosts Michi, Natascha, and Daniel will show you what to expect in the stream for the rest of the day, present funny challenges to the Twitch chat, and casually set the stage for the follow-up program.
4:00 PM: From here we switch to our team in the Munich MAX studio. There, Fritz, Maurice, and Ann-Kathrin will introduce you to the games of the fair. Many demos that fair visitors can play in Cologne are already available to us.
We will showcase them in detail in the livestream and discuss what’s new for the gaming side in 2018. You can see the hits coming your way in the schedule below this text.
6:00 PM: Here we will switch back to the Gamescom Camp. From there, we will broadcast a three-hour entertainment show daily with illustrious guests, games, music, and plenty of festival atmosphere from the camp.
In our small tiki bar by the riverside, our editor Leya will also talk with Bethesda’s PR chief Pete Hines about Fallout 76 and Jürgen has an appointment with a Fortnite streamer.
Want more programming?
In addition, you will see the opening of Gamescom, the Gamescom Awards ceremony, interesting keynotes on exciting gaming topics, and the “Debatt(l)e Royale” on MAX. There, the PietSmiet team confronts politicians from all factions with gamers’ questions.
Our program will truly come alive only with you. So watch our livestreams and get involved in the chat and under the hashtag #GCMAX on Twitter and Instagram live. Your posts will land on our social wall (http://walls.io/gcmax/). There you can immortalize yourself at any time.
With Forsaken, legendary weapons and armor in Destiny 2 will regain Random Rolls. This is likely to make most of your current gear useless with the expansion.
Forsaken brings back a feature that Destiny 1 players missed: In Year 2, legendary weapons will have random rolls again. Armor will also receive various perks, likely randomly. Additionally, there will be slots for the new mods. This is expected to make your current gear quickly lose its usefulness in the upcoming expansion.
Popular Year 1 items and the reworked Exotics will still have their place in the inventories of Guardians with Forsaken, but a large portion of the accumulated weapons and armor will be useless come September.
Many weapons and armor from Year 1 will not receive any new perks based on the current information. They will still drop and can also be obtained from the upcoming collections, but will retain their Year 1 status.
Especially a shame for the Solstice armor: Players are currently particularly concerned about their hard-earned Solstice armor. This can be upgraded from a green set to a Masterwork armor through a long quest line during the “Solstice of Heroes” event.
However, there is currently no information from Bungie on how the armor will be handled in Forsaken. Guardians assume that the Solstice armor will also become obsolete with the expansion.
Players don’t want to give up their gear
Guardians are making suggestions: In the Destiny subreddit, players are already discussing ideas on how at least the appearance of the old armor sets could still find a place in Forsaken. Suggestions range from ornaments and cosmetic item slots to a transmog system.
Transmogrifications are known from World of Warcraft or Diablo 3, among others. This allows the appearance of one item to be transferred to another. This way, players could enjoy the new items with their random rolls, but still not have to give up their familiar appearance.
Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) will be present at Gamescom 2018. And those who visit Epic’s booth will likely receive a code for an exclusive spray logo. The design has been leaked.
As at E3 2018, Epic Games will also be at Gamescom in Cologne with Fortnite. Those who suspected that there would be a special spray paint for visitors will not be disappointed. The Gamescom logo has now been leaked and looks pretty cool.
Bling-Bling-Llama from Cologne
What does the Gamescom logo look like? According to a leak from StormLeaks, the Gamescom spray logo is a real eye-catcher. It features the typical Fortnite llama peeking out from a purple triangle.
The cool animal also sports a stylish pixelated pair of sunglasses and is wearing a chic gold chain.
Is there more? At E3, the code for the logo came along with a voucher for V-Bucks and a special pin. It’s quite possible that Epic will also have something special for Gamescom.
How do I get the Gamescom logo? No specifics are known, since the logo itself originated from a leak and may not be authentic at all.
However, if there is a logo, you will most likely be able to pick it up at Epic Games’ booth in Hall 8. There will be activities taking place all day.
