In Fortnite, the new patch 5.30 has changed the map. The location Tomato Town has become a kind of temple. There is also an emote that pays homage to the tomato. Also, the skin “Tomato Head” is back in the shop.
This is how it was until now: Tomato Town was rather a dull place on the map in Fortnite. It was a village built around a pizza shop. For a long time, Tomato Town was only known for the giant tomato head that sat atop the pizzeria as its mascot.
There was relatively little loot in Tomato Town and only low chances of getting a good start in a game of Fortnite there. Therefore, the place was rather unpopular. Players rarely landed there.
From Tomato Town to Tomato Temple
Now there’s a temple there: With today’s patch 5.0.0, Tomato Town has been replaced by a larger “Tomato Temple.” The name has also been changed.
The “tomato head” is back and now sits not above a pizza palace but above a kind of Aztec temple. There is even an underground cave system in Tomato Temple.
We have embedded a video of the new location in Fortnite:

Many more tomato-related things are happening in Fortnite
Tomato skin in the shop: To celebrate this occasion, the tomato head skin is available today in the shop. It can even be upgraded when players complete some challenges. We will have a tomato guide on Mein MMO soon.
Emote has surfaced in the files: Additionally, data miners have found a new emote. With “Praise The Tomato,” players will be able to pay homage to the tomato deity. The appearance of the emote in motion is still unknown.
The emote is currently not available in the shop.
Tomato temple likely also involved in challenges: By the way, the title image of this article is the loading screen of the “Road Trip Challenge” next week. Data miners have already discovered it. During his road trip, Drift seems to be heading to the new Tomato Temple next week.

Blizzard has released a new infographic detailing its games. It shows: bosses were significantly better at killing than players.
At irregular intervals, Blizzard publishes several infographics packed with many little details about World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo, or generally Battle.net. As preparation for BlizzCon (and fitting with the current Gamescom 2018), there were new updates again. And the results can be amusing.
Bosses from Legion stronger than players: Interestingly, the fact is that the bosses of World of Warcraft in dungeons and raids during the time of Legion have a total of 2.8 billion players on their conscience. The players themselves were less successful, having only killed just under half (around 1.4 billion) bosses. On average, each killed boss has two heroes on its conscience.
Murky dies often: For Heroes of the Storm, it is particularly amusing that the hero Murky has been killed nearly 390 million times. This still may not reach the Murloc population in World of Warcraft, but apparently few people like the little gurgling fish friend.
Recognition for Overwatch players: The system of recognitions in Overwatch also works with great success. Since its introduction a few months ago, players have already distributed 7.4 billion recognitions. One might think that a large part was only awarded to accumulate additional XP…
Koreans have many friends: The figures regarding the social features around Battle.net are also interesting. Players have an average of 21 friends on Battle.net. Only among Koreans is this average significantly higher, as they have an average of 28 friends on their Battle.net list.
Lore texts of some armor pieces from the upcoming Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2 suggest that the Awoken Queen might have survived – perhaps in a different way than one would expect.
The new Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2 launches soon. Numerous fans are hoping that the fate of the Awoken Queen Mara Sov, sister of Cayde’s murderer Uldren, could be clarified. Some Guardians even assume that they might encounter the Queen.
Warning – Spoiler Alert: The following text may contain spoilers regarding the story or other content of the upcoming Forsaken expansion. Read at your own risk.
Lore texts of some leaked equipment pieces currently reignite fan hopes. Will there be a reunion? And if so – on which side will Mara Sov stand?
Queen Mara Sov may have survived Oryx’s assault
Mara appears to have survived: According to the lore texts of the upcoming “Reverie Dawn” Warlock set, which recently leaked alongside numerous other details on Reddit, Mara Sov somehow survived the massive explosion triggered by Oryx. She was apparently transported to the Ascendant Plane.
What is the Ascendant Plane? The Ascendant Plane connects the different components of the Ascendant Realm.
This realm is a parallel dimension divided into numerous fragments called Throne Worlds. Each of these worlds is ruled by a god – be it Crota, Oryx, or any other Hive or Worm god. They are immune to any damage from outside the realm. Therefore, the Ascendant Hive can die as often as they want in the physical world, but they can only be completely erased in their own Throne World.
Although the Throne Worlds are held together by the Ascendant Plane, they can also be bound to physical objects. For instance, Oryx’s Throne World was bound to the Dreadnaught using magic from his daughters Ir Anûk and Ir Halak. Thus, the entire ship could be both physical and ascendant at the same time.
While the Ascendant Plane itself is closed off to non-Ascendants, access can still be gained through certain means – among others, via Hive portals or the Taken decay.
Some individuals were even “allowed” to enter the Ascendant Realm – such as Toland, the Shattered.
The Queen apparently managed to escape: According to the lore text, the Awoken Queen was able to flee the Ascendant Plane after Oryx’s death. She subsequently returned to the Dreaming City in a new body, with her new vessel containing no molecules carrying the code of her former body.
Is Mara Sov still the same? This detail currently leaves many fans puzzled. Does she still look the same, but doesn’t remember everything? Does she have a completely different form or is she corrupted? And if she has truly returned to the physical world – is she still our ally or a new enemy? Or does she have her own agenda?
By September 4, 2018, all Guardians should be wiser. That’s when the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2 launches.
By the way: Representatives of the Ahamkara boss theory feel further validated by the new lore texts. Because in the description of the Warlock gauntlet, Mara Sov speaks of a creature with wings and sharp teeth. Fans suspect another reference to an Amakhara.
In Fortnite, new skins and cosmetic items have returned to the game’s code with patch 5.30. Data miners have already found them and present in a skins leak what we can expect. The outfits and cosmetics will likely soon land in the Fortnite shop.
New patch, new leaks: With patch 5.30, which just arrived, there are also plenty of new items in the code. There are outfits, gliders, fall animations, pickaxes, and much more that data miners have already extracted.
We will show you the new skins coming to the shop in the coming days.
Is this official? No, it’s not official. But it is quite certain that the items will be found in the shop sooner or later. Because Fortnite constantly needs new supply for its store to keep the money rolling in. Therefore, new skins are released every week that players can buy for V-Bucks.
V-Bucks can be purchased with real money, so Fortnite finances itself.
Is a new starter pack coming?
This is a special feature: This skin is likely a new starter pack. This could be another offer where players receive a skin, a backpack, and some V-Bucks for €5.
In the past, such offers have been particularly popular. They draw players to the shop and generate “first purchases” for Epic. The idea behind this is that a player who has purchased something once is more likely to purchase something a second time.
Another special feature: According to information from the data miners “DieBuddies”, there should be a skin available for purchase that can be modified. The tomato head is back. Players should be able to customize the head here.
So far, such customizable skins have always been tied to specific challenges. The tomato head should be freely purchasable in the shop. The expansions can then be unlocked. We will make another article about this.

These are the new skins: We present to you the new outfits in a gallery. There are some pairs included. It seems clear that they belong together, like the hippies, samurais, or the military look.
New pickaxes: 4 new pickaxes have been found by data miners in the files of patch 5.30.
Extraordinarily many new back blings: A total of 12 back blings have been found in the files. One can well imagine how they will match the skins. The guitar case looks like it belongs to the hippies. There are several military designs, even wings, and some for rockers as well. So plentiful choices in 5.30.
4 new gliders: 4 new gliders were discovered in the files of 5.30.
6 new emotes: We have the names for the emotes, thanks to the data miners Two Epic Buddies.
This is the “Warehouse Dance.”
Here someone pays tribute to the tomato head with the “PraiseTheTomateEmote.”
This is the emote “Maracas.”
Here we see “Fancy Feet”, apparently a dance emote.
This is the emote “DustingOffHands”, someone is probably dusting off their hands in Fortnite.
This seems to be another dance, the Brazilian martial art “Capoeira” lends its name.
Two trails animations: The end of the leak is marked by these 2 trails animations. They are displayed when players crash from the air. These are the flight trails.
A special skin is not available through the shop, but through the Road Trip Challenge. We will show you here:
Patch 1.8.3 for The Division is on the way. This Thursday, August 23, the new update is expected to go live after server maintenance. The new features include balance adjustments and bug fixes. Everything you need to know is here.
While players currently have the opportunity to try out The Division 2 at Gamescom, something is also happening with The Division 1. Today, on August 23, Patch 1.8.3 arrives.
The update brings bug fixes and focuses on balancing. The build diversity is expected to be increased through changes to the Secret Stalker set and an exotic shotgun.
Prior to that, as every Thursday, there will be server maintenance: This is already ongoing and is expected to last until 12:30 PM.
Update 12:15: Some players report varying download sizes. The numbers may differ even on the same platform.
Balance Changes to the Stalker and Support Station
Changes to the Stalker: The Stalker set has also been revised and now differentiates between PvE and PvP. There are changes for both areas, but they are significantly lower in PvE.
Support Station is revised: Massive realized during the development of Patch 1.8.3 that the master mod of the support station is too strong. This allows players to heal themselves when they are within range of their support station and destroy it.
Players used this to place their support station and then immediately destroy it. The healing boost was stronger than the first aid skill, unless one has an electronic build.
While this still works, to receive the full healing, the support station must remain longer before it is destroyed.
“Running in Place” Bug and Showstopper Fixed
Changes: After some delay, the notorious “Running in Place” bug has finally been fixed. This bug had a massive impact on the overall experience of The Division and had existed for months.
Showstopper is being fixed: Additionally, Massive is fixing a bug that made the Showstopper too powerful. The exotic shotgun could fire faster than it was supposed to through the right usage.
Furthermore, there will be some minor optimizations, such as
the expansion of the Skirmish mode which should be available to everyone starting with 1.8.3
or the “Rainbow Six” commendation, where players can now also use exotic items for completion (previously only grey/green/blue/purple/gold and gear set were allowed)
How large is the download? The download size varies depending on the platform:
A former developer of the MMORPG WildStar explains why the online role-playing game was not successful. According to him, the game never had a chance during development.
Why did the promising MMORPG WildStar fail? A former developer of the online game has now commented on this. According to him, the game actually never had a chance for success from the very beginning.
WildStar had no chance, according to former developers
The failure of a WoW killer: WildStar was supposed to establish itself alongside World of Warcraft in the market. However, that didn’t happen. Player numbers kept dropping. Even the Steam launch couldn’t really help. Even though the MMORPG still exists today and has a small but loyal fanbase, it was never a real success.
The game had no chance: In response to a video about WildStar, a former developer named Sam Noone has come forward. He explains from his perspective why the MMORPG failed. According to him, the problems began even before the release, which doomed WildStar from the start.
Sam Noone joined the team in the fifth year of development and noticed that there was no clear direction guiding the development
The team could not agree on ideas. The game fell victim to the typical error of “too many cooks spoil the broth”
Tim Cain, as the leader, is said by Sam Noone to be responsible for a large part of the mismanagement
Halfway through production, almost the entire concept was scrapped and greatly altered
Features were tested too little, which is why much of the game did not function properly at release
The PvP system didn’t even work “on paper”
The team’s feedback was ignored. The content that was best received by players – like hoverboards – was not planned by management but was “sneaked in” by the developers
The team was forced to work months in what was called crunch time with 17-hour workdays and 6-day weeks
WildStar was once good: According to Sam Noone, there was a time when WildStar played really well during development. However, then changes were made and decisions taken that made everything worse.
Whether all of this is really true and not just the exaggerated criticism of a former and now frustrated employee of Carbine Studios cannot be said.

Currently, the Johto event is ongoing in Pokémon GO. Niantic has now confirmed on which day the event ends and the bonuses will disappear.
Niantic announced days ago that the arrival of Celebi will bring additional interesting bonuses. New field research projects and more frequent spawns of Pokémon from the Johto region are currently active. In the German announcement, Niantic did not mention when the event ends. Upon inquiry, the team revealed that this event will remain active until August 28.
Johto Event – When does it end?
Officially confirmed: Niantic made an announcement about the end of the Johto event on some Pokémon GO websites, like the Japanese one. There, the event is said to end in the early hours of August 29. In Germany, this is several hours earlier.
End of the event: The Johto event ends in Germany on Tuesday, August 28, at 10:00 PM. Niantic confirmed this to TheSilphRoad.
What bonuses are available during the event
Since the Johto event has been active since Monday evening, August 20, you may have already noticed some bonuses.
Spawns in the wild: You will encounter more monsters from the Johto region in the wild.
New Shinys: The shiny forms of Tannza, Sonnkern, and Natu can now be found in the game.
New bosses: New raid bosses are roaming in the arenas worldwide. The starters of the 2nd generation, as well as Sonnkern and Yanma, can be found in level-1 raids in Pokémon GO. In this overview, we show you which arena bosses are also active in Pokémon GO.
Celebi quests: Now, there are also new special research tasks in Pokémon GO that reward you with an encounter with the mystical Pokémon Celebi. We have a guide that shows you all the quests and bonuses of the new special research. The Celebi quests will remain active in Pokémon GO even after the Johto event.
A series of buffs is intended to encourage druids in WoW to choose the cat form again. There are increases of up to 20%.
With the release of Battle for Azeroth, there should be a fundamental balance between the different classes in World of Warcraft. However, one specialization stands out as particularly weak: the Feral Druid. Many players avoid this specialization because it simply deals too little damage, cannot keep up in dungeons, and even encounters problems while questing. Now there are significant buffs.
What will be boosted? A total of three abilities of the Feral Druid will receive significant buffs. The changes are as follows:
Brutal Slash deals 20% more damage.
Rending Claw deals 15% more damage.
Maul deals 15% more damage.
Additionally, there’s another fix: Druids will no longer lose their buffs Berserker, Tiger Fury, and Incarnation: King of the Jungle when they switch forms (e.g., to heal). The buff persists during form switching. This allows the druid to temporarily exit the form to cast something like Regrowth and then switch back to cat form with the buff still active.
The community wants more. While some players are happy that there are improvements for the druid at all, many are also disappointed. They feel these buffs do not go far enough and are allegedly “just a drop in the bucket.” The Feral Druid therefore needs further buffs to compete with the other classes.
In FIFA 19, what some players feared comes true. EA focuses on other priorities than Pro Club and Career. Fans have long wished for improvements for these two modes. What is happening for the Career Mode and Pro Club in FIFA 19?
EA confirms fears: As GameSpot US reports, Electronic Arts confirms that the two modes, Career and Pro Club, remain practically unchanged in FIFA 19.
This is exactly what fans feared after first leaks: The two modes are regarded as fan favorites that chronically receive too little attention from Electronic Arts. Players have created long wish lists for the Pro Club, but EA seems unable to fulfill the wishes even with FIFA 19.
What is EA doing instead? EA focuses on the Story Mode “The Journey” and the cash cow “FIFA Ultimate Team.” The new feature “Kick Off”, the kickoff mode, will also be expanded. These three areas are where EA focuses its efforts.
What does EA say? Lead Gameplay Producer Sam Rivera says to GameSpot:
“In the Career Mode, we decided to make the Champions League 100% authentic. When the Champions League is played, everything changes. There is a reskin. That was our highest priority.”
“But we listen to our fans. They had expected more things, bigger things for the Career Mode and the Pro Club. We are currently discussing what we can add in the future. We know that it’s a very passionate community. But for now, that’s all we can say about the two modes. We are having discussions, we are listening to the community to see what we can bring to these modes.”
These are the tiny changes in FIFA 19 in Career Mode
Changes in Career Mode: During the course of the interview, three new things for the Career Mode of FIFA 19 were confirmed:
There are new cutscenes for the locker room
The “Ultimate” difficulty, which was previously only in FUT, comes to the Career Mode
And the club emblem receives a star when the club wins the Champions League
Practically nothing is changing in Pro Club in FIFA 19
Pro Club without Champions League: Even though Career Mode includes the Champions League, the Pro Club mode will have to do without it. However, the other licensed leagues will be available.
No further changes are known for Pro Club mode that would be new in FIFA 19.
A third-person aiming glitch in the PS4 version of the Battle Royale shooter H1Z1 polarizes fans and currently causes a lot of controversy within the community.
A glitch in the Battle Royale game H1Z1 is currently stirring up the emotions of fans. However, the community is divided. While parts of the player community complain about the glitch and find it particularly unfair, other fans support the glitch and even want it to be a permanent feature in the game.
Third Person Aiming in H1Z1 – Cheating or a Useful Feature?
This is how aiming in H1Z1 on the PS4 looks: H1Z1 is played from a third-person perspective. The aiming in H1Z1 on the PS4 works as follows:
One can shoot from the hip in the third-person view. This allows for quicker movements and provides better visibility. However, precision suffers as a result.
One can use the weapon’s sights to significantly increase precision. However, the view switches to the first-person perspective.
As a result, H1Z1 differs in this area from other battle royale titles such as Fortnite, which is played entirely in third-person, except for weapons with scopes.
What does the glitch do? The controversially discussed glitch allows players on the PS4 to use the weapon’s sights without leaving the third-person view. How exactly the glitch can be executed will not be described. However, it is very easy and straightforward. Afterwards, the player can aim and shoot in the third-person perspective for the rest of the match. This provides a much better overview of the surroundings.
The Controversy: This glitch is part of an ongoing debate since launch and is currently being hotly discussed within the PS4 community. Unlike the PS4, aiming in third-person view in the PC version of H1Z1 is a fixed feature and has been around for some time.
While the PC and PS4 versions of the game differ, many PS4 players take the PC version as a prime example and demand a fixed implementation of third-person aiming in the console port. These demands were raised even before the glitch appeared and are growing louder in the current discussion.
Developers are working on the issue: As confirmed by the developers at Daybreak Games, they have already taken on the problem and are working on a fix. Whether they plan to bring third-person aiming as a fixed feature to the PS4 in the future is currently unknown.
What do you think of this glitch? And how do you see third-person aiming in general? A useful feature or bad for the game?
Other fans want the glitch to be fixed but would appreciate a separate mode that supports third-person aiming – similar to PUBG, where there are first-person-only servers.
Meanwhile, others are completely against any possibility of third-person aiming. This would bring H1Z1 too close to Fortnite, and the battles would no longer feel as intense and exciting. Furthermore, according to some players, it would take away the tactical aspect of the fights, as one could more easily bypass or surprise an opponent in the first-person perspective.
Some fans even go so far as to condemn third-person aiming as cheating, as it allows players to look around corners or through doors much better. This would only lead to more campers.
Developers are working on the issue: As confirmed by the developers at Daybreak Games, they have already taken on the problem and are working on a fix. Whether they plan to bring third-person aiming as a fixed feature to the PS4 in the future is currently unknown.
Today the new update 5.30 arrives for Fortnite. We take a look at the patch notes in English and tell you what the patch brings new this week for “Battle Royale” and “Save the World”.
The highlights this week are a new mode with point hunting, the item “Portable Rift” and a new weapon for PvE.
Highlights of the Patch Notes for Fortnite Battle Royale
New mode “Points Royale”: In this mode, the first player to reach a certain score wins (Solo-2000, Duo-3000, Team-4500). Points can be earned for almost everything:
You can collect special coins (Bronze 30, Silver 50, Gold 100),
Eat an apple or mushroom – 10
Open ammo boxes (25), chests (50), or supply llamas (100)
or eliminate opponents for points (100).
The storm in the new “Points Royale” mode gives players more space at the beginning, but quickly tightens towards the end.
New item “Portable Rift”: This item is epic and comes in single stacks – you can carry a maximum of 2 Portable Rifts. When you use the portable rift, you will be teleported into the sky. Other players can also use the rift. It remains open for 10 seconds. As seen in the video, it seems that opening occurs almost immediately after a brief shaking animation.

Change to shotguns: Shotguns can now be equipped in 0.88 seconds (previously 0.96). If you fire a double-barreled shotgun while crouching, the spread radius is reduced by 15%.
Change to sticky grenades: The sticky grenades in Fortnite no longer explode immediately when the object they are attached to is destroyed. They drop down and stick to the next object they hit. They only explode once the timer runs out.
Highlights of the Patch Notes 5.30 for “Save the World”
Better defenders. Defenders that players can deploy in missions now consume 33% less ammunition and weapon durability.
New Horde Challenge: This week brings 16 waves which are shorter than usual. Enemies are faster and you have less preparation time. As a reward, you can earn one of two legendary weapons.
New weapon Thunder Gun: This is an assault rifle and is described as “surprisingly accurate flintlock rifle with multiple barrels”. The item will be available for one week in the game store. It can be purchased with gold.
Save the World is currently suffering from significant issues. Missions do not provide rewards – a hotfix yesterday was not entirely successful. We will see after the patch if it has improved.
The value of gold in World of Warcraft is too low. Players will face this inflation hard in the future with Battle for Azeroth.
The US site Polygon points out a current problem in World of Warcraft:
There is an increasing amount of gold in the game. The current value for gold is decreasing. This could mean major difficulties in the future that WoW and the players will have to deal with.
According to Polygon, this problem has existed for years, but with WoW: Battle for Azeroth, it has become acute.
Gold is becoming too cheap
Much gold, little work: The economy of World of Warcraft is currently struggling with the fact that gold is becoming less and less valuable. Some players are pleased about this for the moment, as they can accumulate larger amounts of gold with relatively little work in the game. However, this has consequences in the long run.
Crafting is not worth it: Due to the crafting system in Battle for Azeroth, the gathering of reagents is going much slower. Players are currently more focused on equipping their characters than farming herbs and ores.
The WoW Token is providing more gold per Euro
Problem with the WoW Token: There is currently little incentive for players to gather reagents at all. Although the price for crafting materials is quite high, a single WoW Token is worth so much gold that players can save several hours of work by purchasing a token – depending on the server.
The WoW Token can be purchased for real money and then exchanged for “gold” in WoW. The price of the token fluctuates: Over the years, players have generally received more gold per Euro for the token.
These auction house traders make up only a small group of players, but they hoard large amounts of gold. They buy items and resell them, which further tightens the market because fewer traders offer goods.
What is the problem? In short: it is no longer worthwhile for players to farm items when they can buy cheaper gold for real money. The market has an abundance of gold in the long run, but only a few traders offer their items at exorbitant prices because they control the market.
Moreover, gold is an endless resource in World of Warcraft. Vendors to whom gray items can be sold, or quests that reward players with gold, continuously generate more gold out of nothing.
Polygon believes that a potential and likely consequence of inflation could be that some items, such as flasks, will experience immense price increases in the future. The more people buy gold, the less it will be worth in the long run. And this will affect all players.
For players, this means: either buy tokens for real money or start farming and crafting themselves and become self-sufficient.
For players who have no interest in gold and farming in WoW, the WoW Token has become a means to completely ignore this part of the game. When they need gold, they buy a WoW Token from Blizzard for Euros and sell the token in the game for WoW gold.
A small group has most of the gold: The few people who farm reagents and other items themselves usually sell their loot without much economic knowledge in the auction house.
These resources are often purchased by traders, i.e., players who play WoW like an economic simulation.

Today, on August 23, 2018, the Fortnite servers will go offline for the update 5.3 on all platforms (PC/Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, iOS). When will the servers be down? When can you start playing again? Along with the new Rift-to-Go, the annoying spike trap bug will also likely be fixed.
After the last few weeks without server downtime, Epic will once again take the services offline today and elevate Fortnite to version 5.30. While not all changes are known yet, some information has already leaked.
Fortnite Servers Going Offline – When Will They Be Online Again?
When does the server downtime start? Around 9:30 AM German time, player matchmaking will be disabled. The Fortnite servers will then go offline at 10:00 AM.

When will the Fortnite servers be back online? Experiences from the last weeks and months suggest that Fortnite should be available again between 11 AM and 1 PM. When it will be time and what the patch notes hold for you, you will find out as usual at Mein MMO.
What Update 5.30 Brings for the Battle Royale Mode: The Rift-to-Go is coming and will represent a mobile version of the rifts scattered across the map. This is how the “Rift-to-Go” could work. An annoying bug with spike traps not triggering is also expected to be fixed today.
Whether there will be additional bug fixes and new features remains unknown.
Will the Road Trip skin be found in the data today? In the last Season 4, the blockbuster skin was discovered two days before the final required challenges in the game files that were released with the last update.
Has Epic found a way to hide the skin from the dataminers?
What can Save the World players look forward to? According to Epic’s roadmap, the thunder cannon will make its way into the game with the update 5.30. In addition, the third round of the weekly horde challenges will be initiated.
Battle for Azeroth has survived the first week of release. However, a major issue is now plaguing players of World of Warcraft: the scaling of items is not working correctly. WoW becomes easier in the open world if players do not wear the Heart of Azeroth.
What is the problem? The scaling system, in which enemies become stronger or weaker as your equipped item level changes, is not functioning quite as intended in WoW.
Players are already complaining.
Scaling is not working well
The scaling was introduced with WoW: Legion to make it more challenging for players to complete content in the open world. Before that, it was too easy for players with good gear to complete world quests.
Leave your necklace at the bank: The scaling system from Legion has been adopted with Battle for Azeroth. The problem here is that players with better gear do not automatically deal more damage.

After the release of Destiny 2, the former game director of the game, Luke Smith, has vanished from the scene. Fans are wondering what the former Destiny 2 head has been up to since then. In an interview with Mein MMO, Bungie has now shed some light on the matter.
What is Luke Smith actually doing? Some fans speculated that he had to take the blame for the poor development of Destiny 2. Others speculated that he was already working on Destiny 3.
In the Gamescom interview with Mein MMO, Bungie clarified the situation. The head of Mein MMO, Dawid Hallmann, spoke with communications director David “DeeJ” Dague and with Steve Cotton, the head of Destiny 2 Forsaken.
Luke Smith is still in a key position at Bungie
When asked where Luke Smith is now, Bungie surprisingly answered openly at Gamescom.
Smith still extremely important for the studio: Initially, they revealed that Luke Smith is still working at Bungie.
“Luke is still at Bungie. I text with him regularly, we work together. He helps us understand what we are going to do with Destiny in the next year and beyond,” said Forsaken head Steve Cotton.
Community manager DeeJ then emphasized the immense importance of Smith as well as his contributions to Destiny. What he has accomplished is invaluable.
“Luke is irreplaceable in shaping what Destiny is. He created the prototype for the Destiny raids and assembled the team that would create new raids.
Currently, Luke is in a leadership role at Bungie. He is a very valuable voice among the leadership of our studio.”
Destiny as a game that never ends
DeeJ continued: “Luke sees Destiny as a game that never ends. It’s a game that captivates you again and again – year after year, season after season. Luke is one of those guys from the Blizzard community who played Halo as a Bungie fan.
And now he ensures at Bungie that seasonal updates keep players engaged and that a consistent experience is provided from one game to the next, maintaining player interest and giving them the feeling of constantly evolving and that their achievements and accomplishments carry over from one game to the next.”
Sounds like Luke Smith is responsible for the franchise
What can be inferred from the answer? Apparently, Smith can still contribute to Destiny 2 – even if in a new role. DeeJ’s statements suggest that Smith is broadly responsible for the Destiny franchise and works beyond Destiny 2.
How this new position came about is unknown. It is also unclear what the formal title of the new role is.
On LinkedIn, Luke Smith is still listed as “Game Director.” He has not provided a description of his position on Twitter anymore.
The path of Luke Smith
Since Destiny 1, Luke Smith has been an important team member at Bungie and has held several key positions at the studio throughout his career. But why has he been unheard of?
He then took on the role of Game Director for Destiny 2 and became the new strong man behind Destiny.
After the release of Destiny 2, however, Smith almost completely vanished from the scene. While he was the face of Destiny 2 along with Mark Noseworthy before and during the launch of Destiny 2, he has said very little since then.
Others have stepped into the limelight: Most news about Destiny 2 now comes from other developers at Bungie, such as Christopher Barrett – now Game Director for Destiny 2. The Forsaken expansion is led by Steve Cotton as Game Director.
How have you perceived the fate of Luke Smith so far? Did you expect that he still holds a leadership position in the company?

NetEase has released a video for the upcoming online game Nostos. In Nostos, players roam a post-apocalyptic world in search of resources while constantly fleeing from the dangerous “Coralsea.” The game utilizes the MMO technology SpatialOS to simulate a vast and vibrant world.
What is Nostos? The online game Nostos takes place in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by cute animals and nasty monsters. Players often encounter the remnants of a former civilization, but the buildings have long since fallen into disrepair and are abandoned.
The world of Nostos is full of dangers. The deadly “Coralsea” continues to expand, forcing players to stay on the move. However, traveling in Nostos is perilous. Powerful monsters lurk everywhere, waiting for the players.
Players must form clans to survive
The multiplayer aspect of Nostos: Because the world is so dangerous, players need to look for trustworthy companions with whom they can gather resources and embark on quests for mysterious relics. These relics are the only way to protect players from annihilation.
Together with their companions, players prevent the world’s downfall in Nostos. And perhaps they will even manage to “revive” the world.
During their journey through this decaying world, players wander through deserts, climb mountains, and traverse forests. The game’s graphics are inspired by classic anime style, which you can take a look at in our image gallery.
How to play Nostos? Nostos is played in first-person using a VR headset. The trailer reveals some gameplay elements.
Players can chop down trees and use the collected wood to build shelters.
A car can be used by players to travel faster through the world of Nostos.
At night, nasty creatures await the players. Players can defend themselves against monsters with melee and ranged weapons.
The game features a day-night cycle and changing seasons.
SpatialOS enables a vibrant world
Nostos utilizes SpatialOS: The online game Nostos relies on the cloud-based technology SpatialOS to achieve its ambitious goal. SpatialOS serves as a development platform and aims to enable vibrant and extremely large online worlds.
The technology is regarded as an “MMO” wonder technology.
NetEase and Improbable, the company behind SpatialOS, formed a partnership in February 2018 and announced that they will release online games in the future that will leverage SpatialOS.
When will Nostos be released? Nostos is expected to be released in 2019.
To combat cheaters, Pokémon GO checks Android data for “root” indications. However, this does not go without problems.
Pokémon GO has a new measure against Android users to exclude potential cheaters. The app looks for signs of “root” files at startup. If such files are found, the affected smartphone cannot be used to play. Whether cheats are installed or not does not matter.
Pokémon GO scans more than expected – Unauthorized device
A member of the XDA Developers Forum noticed that Pokémon GO exploits its permissions on the smartphone to look for signs that the device is rooted.
What is rooting? It is the process by which smartphone owners obtain root access for their Android device. Simplified, this means gaining unrestricted access to the device’s settings. This is not inherently wrong – many users seek this access. Other players use this access for cheats.
Important for cheats: Some cheat programs for Pokémon GO require root access for the Android device. That is why Niantic checks whether Pokémon GO players are using a rooted device.
Check updated: In update 115.2, Niantic changed the method by which they search for root systems. It appears that Pokémon GO searches the storage for the names of files and folders. Any file, zip folder, Titanium backups, folder, or APK file on your smartphone that is labeled “root”, “magisk”, or “xposed” could exclude you from the game.
And for that, Pokémon GO even searches the files on your SD card.
This has already been confirmed by many Reddit users. They created folders named magisk on their external SD card for testing and were subsequently excluded from the game. When they deleted the folders, they were able to return to the game.
Unauthorized device: Players for whom Pokémon GO has found suspicious files receive the error “unauthorized device” and cannot log in until these files are deleted.
This also excludes users who have rooted their Android smartphone but have not installed any cheats. A harsh blanket ban, indeed.
Affected users
On Reddit, user dmml writes: “I can’t believe that an empty “MagiskManager” folder in my storage was the reason I couldn’t play Pokémon GO.” He adds that his smartphone is not rooted. The empty folder was only still in the storage because he wanted to try it out earlier. After he deleted the folder, the game ran without issues again.
User NachoLGamer replied to the post: “I can confirm. Had no issues. Then I created an empty folder named MagiskManager and couldn’t log in anymore.”
Other users also confirm the thesis that even empty folders with “Magisk” in the name lead to exclusions from Pokémon GO.
This is what the community says
Divided opinion in the community: Players react differently to this new “snooping” method. One understands Niantic, which is increasingly looking for cheaters and wanting to provide other players with a fair environment.
Others find it audacious to simply lock out every root user, even if they do not have cheats installed.
There is consensus: The fact that a large amount of personal data is scanned without consent causes displeasure among a large part of the community.
What are your thoughts on this “search”? Have you had trouble logging in since the last update?
As Nexon announces, the MMORPG MapleStory 2 officially launches on October 10. Then you can dive into the adventures in the colorful fantasy world.
Battle Royale playable before release: From today, August 22, until October 1, you can engage in the battles of Mushking Battle Royale. Mushking Battle Royale is a standalone version of the battle royale mode that will be part of the MMORPG upon release. If you rank among the top spots in the fights, you can win founder packs for the MMORPG. These offer:
Exclusive items
Cosmetic items
Head start, allowing you to start as early as October 1
A sequel that doesn’t feel like one: MapleStory 2 is the successor to one of the most successful Asian MMORPGs. However, the developers have taken some liberties with the backstory that doesn’t align 100 percent with that of MapleStory 1.
Initially, MapleStory 2 was planned as a prequel, but this is no longer the case due to the altered story. Furthermore, the title feels significantly different from its predecessor due to the 3D environment.
