A Death Knight in World of Warcraft looks foolish. His ghoul is now in the custody of an NPC.
Some stories in World of Warcraft are so ridiculous that you have to read them twice. A Death Knight “played the hunter” and tried to leave his ghoul with the stable master. That worked too. Only now his ghoul is stuck.
Ghoul left with the stable master: On Reddit, the player Coltdaman1 reports that he, as an Unholy Death Knight, left his ghoul with the stable master. The NPC, who is actually only meant for hunter companions, apparently accepted him as a pet and now he is locked up there.
If he now uses “Raise Dead”, simply no new ghoul appears – because he is stuck with the stable master. This causes the Death Knight to lose much potential, as he is significantly weaker without the ghoul.
Bug only “available” temporarily: Many Death Knights have since tried to lock up their ghoul as well, but only a few have succeeded. The bug apparently does not occur for all players or depends on various factors. Several Death Knights have already confirmed it and stated that they had to write a ticket to be able to summon their ghoul again. Apparently, a Game Master has to fix the problem manually.
Players’ reactions are amused: Players on Reddit are amused and are commenting eagerly.
“Just imagine the stable master’s face when the ghoul has eaten through all the animals.”
“Maybe the ghoul just doesn’t want to go back, after all he has many cute animals here.”
“Every few months, players find this one bug that just makes us all laugh. Thanks for that.”
It is probably only a matter of time before Coltdaman gets his ghoul back and Blizzard corrects this error. Until then: Don’t leave your ghoul with the stable master. He can’t handle it.
What was the funniest mistake you made in World of Warcraft that you can still laugh about today?

The content update announced in mid-August for the online action RPG Beat’em’Up Closers is now available. The game now features German voice acting and a new character named Wolfgang.
What is Closers about? In this action-packed MMO, players can take on the role of a “Closer”. These are young individuals with supernatural powers who must defend Earth from aliens. Their task is to close the interdimensional gates and stop the invasion.
What does the update bring? In addition to the German voice acting, which covers all core elements of the game, players will also be able to play as the new character Wolfgang. Wolfgang is a summoner who belongs to the new Closers team “Wildhüter” and offers a glimpse of future summoning spells in Closers.
Wolfgang’s weapon is the Black Book, which allows him to summon ghosts and weapons. The German voice acting and the character Wolfgang are now available.
The war in World of Warcraft will never end in favor of one faction. We asked a WoW employee about why this is the case during the interview at Gamescom.
At Gamescom 2018, we had the opportunity to speak with some developers of World of Warcraft and ask them numerous questions.
We asked Michael Bybee, one of the Senior Game Producers: Is it possible for one faction in World of Warcraft to take control for a long time and suppress the other side?
“First and foremost, we try to do what makes the most sense for the story we want to tell. That is a paramount factor above everything else. Moments like Teldrassil, which felt bad for the Alliance, or Lordaeron, which felt bad for the Horde – all of that serves just one much larger story goal that we are pursuing. And we have some great things coming soon.”
Fans have already speculated a lot about what this “larger story goal” could be. Some fans suspect that Sylvanas will receive a “redemption” story and, similar to Kerrigan in StarCraft 2, will end up being a necessary hero to avert a greater evil.
However, Bybee became more specific and explained that the Horde and Alliance would likely never rule over each other:
“I don’t think we would intentionally give one faction more control or power over the other faction – at least not for a long time. Because that would take away a bit of what I think is the ‘heart’ of World of Warcraft.”
Interpreting the statements a bit, it seems that World of Warcraft has reached a narrative dead end. In a world dominated by war, there must eventually be a side that emerges as a winner at least temporarily, otherwise the story wears thin and becomes predictable.
One of the few alternatives to this is that a third non-player faction appears, such as the Naga under Azshara, which weakens both the Horde and Alliance simultaneously. This would give new momentum to the conflicts without drastically shifting the balance of power between the Horde and Alliance.
The Horde and Alliance will likely remain in conflict permanently – the domination of one side or the other seems excluded.
By accident, guardians can already grab items from the expansion a week before the launch of Destiny 2 in Forsaken. The Flashpoint on Mars is already giving out some items to players this week.
The newly released Update 2.0.0 brought some changes to Destiny 2 and is meant to prepare the game for Forsaken. A few items seem to have slipped through the developers’ fingers, as they are already available before the release of Forsaken on September 4.
Ana Bray gives out Forsaken items on Mars
The “Scatterhorn” set is already available: As players report, it is currently possible to obtain Forsaken gear through the new Flashpoints. Ana Bray gives out items on Mars that already bear the Forsaken symbol.
So far, the equipment seems to only consist of the legendary “Scatterhorn” set, which offers items for all classes. As seen in some images and videos, level 35 is required to equip the armor. However, some players have reportedly already received armor that does not require a specific level.
At the place where the shaders are inserted into the armor, there is still a large, temporary symbol visible. Another indication that the items were probably released a bit too early.
New weapons are also available: In addition to the “Scatterhorn” set, the Flashpoint seems to also provide weapons. These are styled in the Wirrbucht style.
Both the armors and weapons come with Random Rolls. These can already be selected, even if you cannot equip the items yet.
If you don’t want to be spoiled, you should stay away from the new equipment for now. It also contains a good chunk of Forsaken lore.
Forsaken also brings new consumables: On the Destiny subreddit, a guardian uploaded a picture of a consumable item that he received by dismantling Forsaken gear. The item “Rainmaker” has an effect that has a chance to trigger a glimmer rain on multikills.

In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) the well-known streamer Muselk created a crazy obstacle course with three friends on the Creative mode. The course was so difficult that he couldn’t complete it himself. However, there were plenty of viewers.
Obstacle course like in a Ninja game show: Muselk and his friends have spent a lot of time preparing an extremely challenging obstacle course in Creative mode. The course is inspired by the former Japanese game show “Ninja Warrior”, which now has fans in the USA and even in Germany (on RTL).
In “Ninja Warrior”, participants must get through a nasty obstacle course “like ninjas”. They jump, swing, and dash as fast as they can. The most successful participants can look forward to fame, honor, and prizes.
Ninja Warrior Course Without Ninja
Despite the name, the famous streamer Ninja was not invited; the action took place only among Muselk and his friends. In the embedded video above, you can see how the four struggle with their course.
Famous Streamer Fails Spectacularly: Curiously, Muselk fails particularly spectacularly at his own creations. Even in the race at the end, he cannot keep up with the other players. But he probably still had fun with the antics in the Creative mode obstacle course.
A Massive Audience for the Ninja Warrior Challenge
Nearly 2 Million Viewers for the Crazy Ninja Run: Many of Muselk’s fans probably had fun too. The YouTube video showcasing the efforts of the streamers has achieved nearly 2 million views so far.
What about you? Would you have the patience to build such a wacky course in Creative mode, where everything is irretrievably gone after a round? And could you complete this course in record time?
By the way, there’s more fun and exciting stuff from the Creative mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale:
Even though this clip shows a Guardian reloading a weapon for just a few seconds, it says it all. No further words are needed. The community is going crazy.
Because the clip reveals: The Heavy Machine Guns will soon return in Destiny 2.
In the comments, guardians are saying they can’t like this tweet enough, that they want this weapon immediately, and that they’ve had to do without the LMGs long enough.
Many silly memes are also being shared to express great anticipation or disbelief, like this one:

When will the LMGs be playable in Destiny 2? Bungie recently released a roadmap for year 2, where the return of the heavy LMGs is mentioned as a side note. According to this, they will arrive in December 2018.
They will be included in a free seasonal update that will be available to all Destiny 2 players.
Which LMG is featured in the teaser? Although only a piece of this LMG is visible, it is very likely the Thunderlord – an exotic machine gun from Destiny 1 that was very popular among guardians.
Why are the LMGs coming back? Before the release of Destiny 2, Bungie stated that they wanted to do without the Heavy LMGs, as only weapons in the power slot should exist that other guardians could take down in PvP with one shot. However, LMGs would have required several shots.
Is it a coincidence that DeeJ uses the Thunderlord for the teaser? Probably not. The developers have already confirmed that other exotics from Destiny 1 will return in Destiny 2 Forsaken. So it is quite possible that we will see the Thunderlord again soon.
What made the Thunderlord stand out in Destiny 1? The Thunderlord was long regarded as one of the best weapons in PvE. It dealt Arc damage and had the exotic perk that the longer the trigger was held down, the faster and more accurately the weapon fired. Since enemies could explode upon a kill, the Thunderlord plowed through enemy crowds. Even tough bosses or PvP enemies were often shredded by its hail of bullets.
In terms of sound, style, handling, and once again sound, the Thunderlord was at the absolute top in Destiny 1.
In December 2016, the Thunderlord got two “brothers”, Abbadon and Nova Mortis, that operated like the Thunderlord but had different elemental damage. Perhaps we will see these in Destiny 2 as well.
By the way: It is known that the Thunderlord was once DeeJ’s favorite weapon. He probably had a mischievous joy in posting the upper clip.
Would you like to see the Thunderlord return in Destiny 2: Forsaken?
The Pokémon GO Safari Zone Yokosuka in Japan brings Shiny Wingull and new research that rewards players with 100,000 Stardust.
In Japan, the Safari Zone event for Pokémon GO players has now started. The present trainers are amazed by the generous rewards they can earn through the new quests.
There is confusion about the new Shiny. Wingull was supposed to appear more frequently worldwide, but that is apparently not the case yet.
Safari Zone Japan is ongoing
Today, on August 29, the Safari Zone in Yokosuka started. There, trainers on site can participate in various events if they have tickets for it. The tickets were distributed for free by lottery among all applicants.
How long does the event last? This Safari Zone runs until September 2, for a total of five days. In Japan, Pokémon like Tropius, Unown, and other special appearances will spawn.
New quests in Japan:
The rewards for trainers at the event are generous. It has already been reported on Reddit that completing the new special quests awards 100,000 Stardust.
In the announcement that Niantic published in July, the team mentioned worldwide spawns of Shiny Wingull.
“To celebrate the Yokosuka Pokémon GO Safari event, Pokémon such as Feebas and Torchic will appear more frequently in Japan. Additionally, Wingull will appear more frequently worldwide. Trainers with luck may find its Shiny form.”
Only in Japan first: The first reports of Shiny Wingull all came from Japan. Now, around 12:00 PM German time, a trainer from Australia reports that he was able to catch the Shiny form of Wingull.
The worldwide catching challenge will take place this coming weekend, on September 1 and 2. Trainers around the world can participate and unlock special bonuses. These revolve around Stardust.
The graphic shows what tasks we can expect over the weekend to unlock the bonuses. The “Hatch XP” in the tasks for America is apparently a typo. It should be bonus Stardust for hatching, not extra XP.
These bonuses will then be unlocked after the event, once the challenges have been successfully completed. A specific time for this is not yet known.
As a big bonus, Niantic will probably hold a big Lugia day worldwide. When that will take place is also still unknown and will be communicated by the Pokémon GO team later.
The space MMO Elite Dangerous receives new content with Chapter 3 of the major Beyond update. This includes a fighter that looks like a new TIE fighter from Star Wars and new weapons against the aliens.
The next chapter of the major Beyond update: Beyond is the major update cycle of Elite, which is supposed to bring a lot of new content to the game. It concerns the conflict with the mysterious aliens from the Thargoid race.
To deal with the aggressive insectoids, there is a plethora of new toys with Beyond: Chapter 3:
The new ship “Crusader”: It resembles the Chieftain but has fighter capacity
The new space fighters with “Guardian Tech”: Trident XD7 (Plasma Repeater), Javelin XG8 (Shard Cannon), and Lance XG9 (Gauss Cannon). The special thing about the new fighters is that they not only deal a lot of damage but also look like experimental TIE Fighters (more specifically, the TIE Phantom from the classic Rebel Assault 2) from Star Wars.
New weapons, such as the large unguided rocket, the large guided missile, and a turret version of the large Multi Cannon.
New engineers for technical superiority
How do you get the new technology? To get all these goodies outside the core worlds, you need to get along well with the engineers in the remote Colonia system. There you can buy just as good technology as in civilization.
Alien tech against the other aliens
At the “Guardian Tech Brokers”, you can acquire the new ships and weapons if you first find the coordinates for Guardian planets in Guardian Space Beacons. Guardian technology can be particularly effective against the Thargoids.
If you want goodies like plasma launchers, shard cannons, or gauss cannons, you need to diligently explore the Guardian planets.

Thargoids will adapt: Of course, your technical superiority won’t last long. As usual in Elite, the Thargoids will surely catch up in the arms race and once again deploy superior technology.
Therefore, the much larger announced fourth chapter of Beyond promises a lot of action. But until then, you can have fun with the new toys from Chapter 3.
At Gamescom, the publisher Gameforge presented a content update for the free-to-play anime MMORPG SoulWorker. It includes upgrades for one of the playable characters and 8 new endgame dungeons.
What is SoulWorker about? The setting of the anime MMO is situated in a post-apocalyptic world that was overrun by demonic creatures many years ago. Players can take on the roles of six different main characters to fight against the main antagonist “Great Void”.
What’s new? The update aims to provide players primarily with new endgame content. It offers the following content:
8 new dungeons
New city Grasscover Camp
Additional quests
Additional NPCs
Increased max level from 55 to 60.
An additional outfit, second weapon, and 6 new abilities for Haru Estia
You can watch the Gamescom trailer for Haru’s upgrades here:
At Gamescom 2018, we spoke with the CEO of Trion Worlds about the difficult launch of Defiance 2050. Scott Hartsman talked about the hurdle of communicating to the community exactly what Defiance 2050 is.
With Defiance 2050, Trion Worlds aimed to renew the MMO shooter Defiance released in 2013 and bring it to the current consoles Xbox One and PS4. The game received a major graphical update, systems were adjusted, and new content was added.
The remake was also heavily criticized.
Mein-MMO:When Defiance 2050 was released, it was received poorly by the players. How was it for you when you realized that the players might not be so happy?
Scott Hartsman: When we look at what players say, we also look at what they do. You have to consider both together. When we look at the actual player statistics […], we’re actually quite happy. It was the number-one free game on Xbox One, even ahead of Fortnite. I was really happy when I saw that it was up there.
Viewing how well [Defiance 2050] is performing for us as a company, it does exactly what we would have expected. We see it as a major update to the original Defiance that we released many years ago. The new graphics and the overhaul of the gameplay are a big improvement. There’s also a lot of new content.
There are a lot of players who have never come into contact with Defiance. They never played it on the old consoles or on PC. We saw Defiance 2050 as an opportunity to introduce the game to a new generation of players.
It was a challenge to communicate what Defiance 2050 is
Mein-MMO: When you look at feedback from veterans and new players, is there a big difference between the feedback?
Scott Hartsman: Yes, we had a lot of players who played on the old consoles. […] There were definitely those who expected more of a sequel, instead of a major overhaul. That was the thing, Defiance 2050 is not a continuation. We are very transparent about that. However, it is also a bit more than just a rework.
It was a major challenge to communicate to the players exactly what Defiance 2050 is. That’s why we call it the “Re-Imagined Edition” of Defiance.
Mein-MMO: Yes, I just spoke with the developer team. They told me that their own vision of Defiance 2050 was somewhat different from that of the players.
Scott Hartsman: Definitely. Every time you develop a game – and this goes back a long way for me to when I developed MMOs years ago – you have a certain picture in your head. You have your vision of what will be special about the game and what players will like and dislike. Just as what is important to them and what is not.
All those assumptions are eventually tested. Sometimes you hit the mark, sometimes you are partially right, and other times you are completely off. I have never seen anyone be completely right. But I would say we were as close to being partially right as we could be.
Veterans prematurely judged according to Hartsman
Mein-MMO: In what parts were you right and in what parts wrong?
Scott Hartsman: It was really mostly about the expectation for the game content. The players who were new to Defiance 2050 found it just great. Players who had played the original Defiance saw the same content at first and immediately thought: “Is this the same game?” because they didn’t realize that there was actually a ton of new content they had never seen later on. There are also new systems that they had never seen.
They simply saw only the first five minutes and immediately judged that Defiance 2050 is the same game, even though it really is not.
Defiance 2050 delivered exactly what Trion Worlds expected
Mein-MMO: That has naturally also brought you some negative headlines from the press and worse reviews.
Scott Hartsman: That’s true, but Defiance 2050 delivered exactly what we expected. We’ve actually never been so close with our forecasts about what would happen with a game.
Mein-MMO: That’s interesting. Defiance 2050 is publicly perceived as if the game is not doing well.
Scott Hartsman: Yes, when we are on specific forums or Subreddits, we also see that it doesn’t take many voices to make the overall tone seem negative. Negative voices also tend to be louder. However, when I look at the statistics about how many actually play Defiance 2050, the world looks very different.
But please don’t get me wrong. I want as many players as possible to enjoy Defiance 2050. […] We are here to entertain. We are, of course, working towards getting as much positive feedback as possible.
Mein-MMO: Thank you for the conversation and your time.
The focus is now on improving performance and new content
Before I interviewed Scott Hartsman, I also talked with two of the developers of Defiance 2050. They want to focus on processing player feedback now.
According to the developers, the highest priority right now is improving performance. Players have strongly criticized lag and crashes. As a second priority, the developers mentioned new content. Enthusiastic players are constantly asking for new content, and they are actively working on that.
New content for Defiance 2050 will be released in the fall. This will include new boss enemies and systems.
If you want to get a sense of the free-to-play shooter, here are some tips for getting started:
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) a huge purple cube has recently appeared. It has been rolling through the map at regular intervals since then. However, it now also leaves runes and creates an anti-gravity field!
What happened so far: The players of Fortnite – especially the streamer Ninja, who discovered it for the first time – were quite surprised when suddenly a massive cube appeared in Fortnite at Paradise Palms on August 24.
Otherwise, the cube did nothing, other than slowly charging the shields of anyone nearby. However, if you attacked or touched it, you would be pushed away.
Cube Generates Anti-Gravity Field and Runes
News from the cube: Since August 28, 2018, the cube has been doing something more. It now creates a large, visible zone around itself where decreased gravity exists.
So, like a permanently acting Hop Rock, which existed in Season 4. The usual cube effects like shield regeneration and reflected damage still occur.
The Mysterious Cube Rune
The cube writes something: Additionally, there is another new cube effect. The cube now seems to leave strange rune symbols. At least, one can see such a glyph at the bottom of the cube.
Rune only in replay mode: Currently, the rune can only be seen when you fly into the dark interior of the cube with the drone camera in replay mode and hover down to the ground. There, one clearly recognizes the rune inscription.
What do the runes mean? The cube runes do not resemble the known Scandinavian runes, as you find them in the Viking village, among others.
Rather, the symbols appear on the cube itself, albeit much smaller. What they mean is still unknown.
According to data mining, there are supposed to be other runes that appear at certain times. In total, there are supposed to be 7 runes.
The music scene in Lord of the Rings Online is struggling with problems. The new spam filter causes them to fall silent during their performances. A simple solution to the problem doesn’t seem to exist.
The spam filter in Lord of the Rings Online is supposed to stop gold spammers and griefers. However, the activation of the spam filter also affects members of the music scene of the MMO, even though they are doing nothing wrong. Finding a solution to the problem is not so easy.
Singers have a hard time
Singing prohibited: Lord of the Rings Online has an active music scene. Every class in the game can grab an instrument and start playing. Bands of players meet in-game and hold concerts. During these concerts, singing naturally occurs as well. This takes place through the game’s text chat. Watching players can sing along.
However, song lyrics often consist of similar or even the same word combinations. This activates the game’s automatic spam filter. As a result, the singers may be unable to write for 24 hours. The gig comes to an abrupt end.
A gamemaster can manually free individual players from the ban, but that does not protect players from finding themselves wordless at a concert in the future.
“We can’t have multiple definitions of spam”
Singing becomes spam: In the related forum thread, a developer speaks up. According to the developer, it would not be so easy to draw the fine line between spam and repetitive song lyrics. Repetitive song lyrics would, by definition, be spam. This cannot be defined in various ways.
The problem is the /say channel: The spam filter itself is not the problem. If players are prevented from spamming messages in the global channel, it aligns with the interests of many players. Musicians only use the /say channel for their performances anyway. Yet this channel is also monitored by the spam filter.
Practicing is prohibited
Practicing alone is spam: Unfortunately, there is only one global implementation for the /say channel. The system does not differentiate whether the channel is used in one’s home, a solo instance, or the busy town of Bree. This leads to the strange situation where players are banned even though they quietly practice their music pieces without disturbing other players.
Therefore, the musicians of Lord of the Rings Online demand the lifting of the ban for the /say channel. However, according to a developer, the spam filter for the channel cannot be removed because it is frequently misused by griefers.
No easy solution
Good advice is expensive: There seems to be no easy solution to the dilemma. Musicians want to use the /say channel as unrestricted as possible. Publisher Standing Stone Games, on the other hand, wants to put a stop to gold spammers and griefers.

The publisher is considering a manual system. Musicians would then be manually freed from chat restrictions. While this would solve the problem for musicians, players who want to sing along at a concert would still be subject to a chat ban.
As many expected, this is not the samurai from the cinematic, but rather his victim. Rin is the daughter of the murderer from the video and is depicted in the game in a gruesomely macabre way. She is a walking corpse that has been hacked into several pieces. Her body parts are loose and sometimes fall apart. Additionally, she twitches and spasms convulsively – a gruesome sight that strongly reminds one of horror films like “The Grudge”.
The abilities of The Spirit
The Spirit has a unique ability that resembles the traits of the Wraith and the Nurse. With a right-click, she can switch to spectral mode. After a brief channeling, she enters the spirit world and leaves her body, which remains in place. She can move freely around the map and reappear at another location with a button press or when the timer runs out, striking instantly. Survivors do not see this “spirit run”.
However, there is a catch (Haha, pun…): The killer cannot see the survivors during the spirit run either. Only after appearing are the survivors visible again. Only scratch marks can be seen in the spirit world. He has to guess where the survivors are – for example, at a generator.
After the ability has been used, it has a medium cooldown of around 15 seconds.
In this video, you can see some gameplay of The Spirit:

The killer comes with three of his own perks as usual:
Hex: Haunted Ground: Two active totems appear on the map. If one of the two totems is cleansed, all survivors are inflicted with the “Exposed” effect for 40 / 50 / 60 seconds, causing them to go down with a single hit. The other totem immediately becomes an inactive totem.
Rancor: One survivor becomes the killer’s obsession. Each time a generator is fully repaired, the obsession sees the killer for 5 / 4 / 3 seconds. Each time a generator is fully repaired, the killer sees all survivors for 3 seconds. Once all generators are repaired, the obsession receives the “Exposed” status effect (goes down with a single hit) and can be killed by the killer (Memento Mori effect).
Spirit Fury: Each destroyed pallet increases the power of the Entity. After 4 / 3 / 2 pallets have been broken by the killer, the next pallet that stuns the killer is instantly destroyed by the Entity. The killer is still stunned.
The new survivor perks of Adam Smith
The new survivor is Adam Smith. He also comes with three of his own perks.
Diversion: The perk activates when the survivor stands in the killer’s terror radius for 45 seconds and is not in a chase. Once the perk is fully active, the survivor can throw a stone to a location within a radius of 10 / 15 / 20 meters. The stone creates a loud noise that is shown to the killer. After that, the perk becomes inactive and needs to be recharged.
Deliverance: After the survivor safely rescues another survivor from the hook (meaning they do not go down again within 20 seconds), the perk activates. The survivor now has a 100% chance to free themselves from the hook the next time they are hanged. However, this triggers the “Broken” effect for 100 / 80 / 60 seconds, preventing the survivor from being fully healed.
Autodidact: The survivor starts with a penalty of -20% on progress for a successful skill check when healing other survivors. Each successful skill check grants a token, up to a maximum of 3 / 4 / 5 tokens. Each token grants a bonus of 20% on progress for a successful skill check when the survivor heals other players. Great skill checks are not possible with this perk.

A week before the launch of Forsaken, Bungie made some vital changes to Destiny 2 with Update 2.0.0. However, this also came with some inconveniences for players, which have now been listed in the official forum.
The latest update for Destiny 2 has brought some changes and prepared the game for the upcoming release of Forsaken. However, some players are reporting issues that Bungie has compiled along with general information in the official forum.
About Quests, Mods, and Missing XP Displays
In a post, the developers have gathered bugs and inconveniences that Guardians may encounter after Patch 2.0.0. Some of these should be fixed with an upcoming patch, while players will have to wait for the launch of Forsaken for other complications.
As of now (August 29, 2018, 9 AM), the following issues have been recorded:
Cayde’s Spicy Noodle Soup: Players who had the milestone for the quest “Cayde’s Spicy Noodle Soup” before the update can no longer complete the quest. With Patch 2.0.0, the ramen shop no longer issues coupons.
Infusing Armor: Players who only own the base game and the DLC “Curse of Osiris” will not be able to infuse their Sundial Armor into other armor pieces with Forsaken.
Quests: After the new patch, players may receive an error message stating that they can only track four quests when selecting a quest.
Vault: Players with many items in their vault may encounter problems with displaying and loading descriptions. This issue should be resolved with the launch of Forsaken.
Transmat Preview: Players may encounter visual issues with the preview of transmat effects, where the character’s appearance is not displayed correctly.
XP Not Displayed Correctly: As some players report, they do not see XP gains when completing activities and fighting enemies. According to Bungie, this is only a visual issue; players should still receive their experience points.
Furthermore, Bungie released some information about significant changes that players will encounter with the new update:
Xûr: The Vendor of the Nine will no longer sell the item Three of Coins with Update 2.0.0. The coins can be dismantled into Legendary Shards after the launch of Forsaken.
So that you are not judged: With the latest update, the Trials of the Nine are going on pause and will be revamped. The trophy or achievement cannot be obtained during this time. Bungie intends to comment on the future of the PvP mode at a later time.
Weapons and the Post Office: With the change in weapon slots, some of your weapons may have been shifted. If you can no longer find certain weapons in your inventory, they may have been moved to the Post Office. Make sure to free up enough space in the Post to avoid losing any of your weapons.
Lastly, there is information about changes and bugs related to weapon and armor perks:
Perk “Triple”: The perk “Triple,” which can be found on the Hand Cannon Grim Promise, will continue to restore one round from reserves on precision hits until September 4th. However, with the launch of Forsaken, the perk will change and provide Guardians with free ammunition.
Perk “Herd Decimation”: The perk of the exotic grenade launcher Lion’s Roar still indicates that the weapon generates energy ammunition on kills. After Update 2.0.0, however, the weapon will receive primary ammunition from Year 2.
Perk “It’s Getting Hot”: The perk of the exotic Titan gloves Ashen Wake indicates that fusion grenades explode on impact and gain a faster throw rate. However, this is not correct and will be changed in the future.
Guild Wars 2 is constantly adding features that many other MMORPGs have had for a long time. However, some things are still missing. Jürgen asked the developers from ArenaNet about housing, fishing, and the new story at Gamescom 2018.
ArenaNet’s unusual online role-playing game has always been known for doing many things differently. For example, there were no mounts, no fishing, no pure healer class, and no housing in the game.
Interview with ArenaNet at Gamescom 2018
By now, at least the mounts are in the game, but as we pointed out in another article, there are still a few features missing in Guild Wars 2 that many fans are eagerly wishing for. Therefore, I asked Game Director Mike Zadorojny about it at Gamescom 2018.
Housing and Fishing
Mein-MMO: “Will there be housing in Guild Wars 2?”
Mike: “Currently, there are no plans for housing. We are looking at the forums and know what players want, but we have to see that it fits optimally into our game.”
Mein-MMO: “What about the next addon? It sounds like you’re saving housing for that.”
Mike: “We won’t necessarily wait until the next addon to introduce a new feature. Season 4 will follow directly after Season 5. If we find a cool new feature for an episode, we will just introduce it at that time. Like the roller beetle last time.”
Mein-MMO: “Another feature that many MMOs have and that many players appreciate is fishing. While you can shoot fish directly in the water with a harpoon in Guild Wars 2, what about classic fishing? Will that come?”
Mike: “Many people at ArenaNet also want that. But it’s like housing; we’re looking at it, but we can’t say anything specific about it right now. However, we won’t just copy other games; we want to try to do something uniquely Guild Wars-style.”
We don’t want to add something to the game just because everyone else has it. We want a new feature [like housing or fishing] to have a meaningful place in our game and to be done in our own style.”
ArenaNet on “Convenience Features”
Mein-MMO: “Will there be a better system to save builds in PvE and PvP?”
Mike: “There is currently nothing new on this, but we will implement it when it fits into our concept.”
Mein-MMO: “When do you decide something fits into your concept?”
Mike: “We spent 18 months just on the mounts. When we build something new, we do it right, so that it feels like it’s part of our game.”
Mein-MMO: “Many players also wish for queues when they want to switch instances. Is there anything new on that?”
Mike: “That is related to our server architecture. It will still take time before we can change that.”
More Mounts and Storytelling
Mein-MMO: “What about new mounts? Is it over after the roller beetle?”
Mike: “Each mount must meet a different need and fulfill a different function. Where is the puzzle that this mount solves? It has to feel alive. The mounts have each filled a specific gap in gameplay that only they could fill.”
So we have to ensure that each new mount represents a new form of horizontal progression.”
Mein-MMO: “Will there be more personality for our hero, the Commander?”
Mike: “The story is constantly evolving. We don’t want players to miss parts of the story because there are branching narratives. In Episode 1 of Season 4, there were consequences depending on whether you allied with Joko or the Sun Spear, or remained neutral. The following battle had different participants.”
When will Cantha finally come?
Mein-MMO: “What about Cantha? Will the story eventually go there?”
Mike: “When we have a cool story, we will bring in certain regions. It’s always a balance between the places we already had back then and new, unused regions, like the Charr homelands or the lands east of Ebonhawke. We never say never [to Cantha], but it has to make sense in the story.”
Jürgen’s Conclusion from the Interview:
It seems that Guild Wars 2 will focus even more on the living story and its episodes and seasons in the future. A major addon has not been confirmed, and it seems there won’t be one in 2019, as ArenaNet is starting Season 5 immediately after Season 4 without any expansion in between.

The upcoming episodes of Seasons 4 and 5 are likely to contain a lot of story and possibly bring some significant gameplay feature. It’s quite possible that there could be a housing or fishing episode in the story.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix held the “Eorzean Symphony” concert in Dortmund. Our Final Fantasy expert Irie attended the event and shares her impressions with you here.
Music has a strong influence on people’s memories and emotions. I notice it myself every time I hear music from one of my favorite games and immediately want to play the game again.
As a big fan of gaming music, visiting the FFXIV concert “Eorzean Symphony” was a must for me.
The concert itself was divided into two sections, each covering the music from the base game “A Realm Reborn” and the first expansion “Heavensward”.
Goosebumps, Tears, and Excitement
Different feeling than ordinary classical concerts: Video game concerts differ from their conservative siblings in one important aspect: The audience does not just come to these concerts to listen to beautiful music.
The familiar music from the game evokes memories of the beautiful, sad, and exciting moments that one could experience alone or with friends. This makes the experience all the more precious.
This nostalgia moved the audience to tears during the Eorzean Symphony concert of FFXIV. At the same time, there were also comments like “The music is really great, but God, that boss was annoying. Do you remember?”.
For many, it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
For fans and just music lovers: I, too, had to say goodbye to my makeup at the latest after the third piece “Breaking Boundaries” because I cried like a baby.
The piece played a significant role during the shutdown of Final Fantasy XIV 1.0, which I attended. It conveyed to me the perfect mixture of despair over the hopeless situation and the determination to keep fighting.
In addition to the music, scenes and cutscenes from Final Fantasy XIV depicting specific relevant story segments were shown on the big screen above the orchestra, which further enhanced the nostalgia effect.
But even spectators who had no emotional connection to Final Fantasy XIV were obviously moved. An older couple sitting behind me said after the concert that they were very impressed by the quality of the music and the audience’s reaction to it.
Relaxed Atmosphere
With jokes and good mood: The atmosphere of the concert was pleasantly relaxed. The show was conducted by Naoki Yoshida, the director of Final Fantasy XIV himself. Together with composer Soken and localization lead Koji Fox, Yoshida made jokes and spread good mood among the fans.
You could tell that the musicians of the “Neue Philharmonie Westfalen” orchestra initially didn’t really know what to do with the show and the unusual audience. Even the staff at the Dortmund concert hall said that “Eorzean Symphony” was the first video game concert held there.
However, after the first half and a lot of applause, the musicians visibly warmed up to the audience.
The conductor was something special: My personal highlight of the show was the conductor Alexandra Cravero.
She was incredibly energetic and almost constantly danced. You could tell she loves and lives this music. I found myself watching her more than the videos on the screen several times.

More Video Game Concerts Needed
Video game concerts have an audience: Eorzean Symphony is just one of the good examples of why we need more video game concerts. In recent years, their number has slowly but steadily increased.
Shows like “Video Games Live” by Tommy Tallarico or “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses” show that there is indeed an audience for this type of entertainment.
Square Enix has been taking advantage of this fact for years with their countless Final Symphony and Distant Worlds concerts.
The quality of the music is high: I would also incredibly love to experience pieces like “Journey” from Destiny 2, “Ezio’s Family” from Assassin’s Creed, or “Ending Staff Roll” from Tales of Symphonia on a big stage.
Many great composers are now involved in the development of video games, from Nobuo Uematsu to Clint Mansell. They are talented men and women whose music belongs on stage. I therefore really hope that other big publishers will follow this trend and hold their own concerts.
I want to cry even more.

Fortnite has presented its plans for the next few months. Epic is working on a mode for eSport. This could become “Ranked Play.” Epic is making vague statements about weapon balance and is giving something to the PS4 Pro.
Epic has made a broad announcement in a large developer blog about a variety of topics. We present to you the intentions for the next months from Fortnite.
Weapon Balance: For the weapon balance of Fortnite, Epic gives a “Hmm, let’s see.” In general, they seem to believe that shotguns are now too weak and need to be strengthened.
They will therefore revert some of the changes they previously tried as nerfs. The aim is to make equipping shotguns faster.
It sounds like shotguns are on the way up. Meanwhile, they view submachine guns as strong and look at them more critically.
Epic’s general stance on weapon balance is: “We are monitoring this and will react if we deem it necessary.”
Building Balance: Epic is keeping an eye on “building” and plans to make changes if necessary.
Here, they initially weakened the materials, then strengthened them again. Epic is working to ensure that wood, stone, and metal clearly differ from each other.
Players should make tactical decisions about which material to build with.
PS4 Pro: Epic will soon distribute a small goodie for the PS4 Pro. Players with the PS4 Pro will have the opportunity to raise their resolution above 1080p when connecting their console to a 4K TV.
New Competitive Mode in Planning – Will It Be Ranked Play?
eSport Mode Coming: Epic is anticipating an “eSport” mode for the fall. It should be “robust.”
What exactly players can expect here, Epic is not revealing yet. Some are expecting a “Ranked Play.” At least it sounds as if a new, permanent mode dedicated to eSport is coming.
Exactly how the competitive mode in Fortnite will look is not yet known. The idea is:
The best players should prove their skills
All players should be able to compete against each other
And performances should be recognized
Epic seems to place particular importance on the spectator mode, which they are working on.
$8 Million Tournament as an Expensive Learning Phase
This is what Epic says: Epic states that experiences from the “Summer Skirmish” have been extraordinarily valuable in finding a balance between entertainment, simplicity, complexity, and performance.
This is what Epic means: After the first few weeks, in which the tournament went catastrophically for Epic, it has now significantly improved. Previously, there were huge difficulties with mode, presentation, and performance.
Gradually, Epic has gotten all these issues under control. The last few weeks have been interesting and entertaining tournaments for everyone involved.
Most recently, Epic made great progress in eSport:

Whether the skin and other rewards will be available again at a later date is currently unknown.
Currently (until August 30) the Summer Games are also taking place in Overwatch. So if you are working towards the rewards, you can also snag the special loot boxes from the Summer Games on the side.
Have you secured the new items yet? Or are you not interested in the “Nano Cola” event at all?
From now on, the Artifact Knowledge mechanic is active in World of Warcraft. Your Heart of Azeroth levels up faster now – we explain how this works.
Even with Battle for Azeroth, much revolves around Artifact Power in World of Warcraft again. Instead of supplying an Artifact weapon with power, this time it’s about the necklace “Heart of Azeroth” that unlocks new abilities in your gear. To make collecting Artifact Power easier over time, the Artifact Knowledge system has been activated as of today (August 29, 2018).
What does Artifact Knowledge bring? Artifact Knowledge increases every few months the rate at which you collect Artifact Power. This is a catch-up mechanic that allows newcomers (as well as veterans) to unlock new levels on the Heart of Azeroth faster.
How does Artifact Knowledge work in BfA? With Battle for Azeroth, Artifact Knowledge works differently than in Legion. The amount of Artifact Power gained does not increase; instead, you need less Artifact Power per level. Each level now requires 23% less Artifact Power, which ultimately results in an approximate speed increase of 30%.
What do you need to do for the unlock? Artifact Knowledge is automatically active globally on all characters. You don’t need to complete a quest or advance any research; the whole process is completely automated.
Less Artifact Power when logging in: Anyone logging into World of Warcraft today will notice that in “naked numbers”, your Heart of Azeroth now has less Artifact Power than before. The percentage of the level-up remains the same. So if you had previously 50% of level 19, you will still have 50% of level 19 after the server maintenance, even if the pure numbers have gone down. Overall, this is still an increase as you now need less Artifact Power than before.
In the coming weeks, the Artifact Knowledge will increase further.
