Defiance is a futuristic MMO shooter in the third person. Defiance is linked story-wise to the eponymous TV series. In search of valuable alien technologies on a transformed surface of the Earth, thousands of players face dangerous aliens. The online shooter is characterized by its many dynamic events, RPG elements, large-scale battles, regular updates, and numerous upgrade options in its gameplay. Defiance is free-to-play on multiple platforms – PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Although the TV series Defiance has since been canceled, the sci-fi MMO is still running and is considered a forerunner of such MMO shooters as Destiny or The Division. Defiance will be re-released in 2018 as Defiance 2050 and will also be available for PS4 and Xbox One.
