In Destiny 2 there is a special event located in the Dreaming City, the Rift Generator. Here’s how to activate the heroic event.
In the Dreaming City, the endgame zone of Destiny 2 Forsaken, several public events take place in rotation, such as the Aether Ritual, the Taken Blights, or the Rift Generator – a city-exclusive event.
What is the Rift Generator? In this public event, you fight against the Taken. It only takes place in the Dreaming City in the area “The Shore,” the recommended power level is 530 and increases to 540 during the event. Your task is to defend a generator core.
Triggering the public event Rift Generator heroically
This is how the event runs: At the beginning, the Rift Generator spawns, where you can initialize a boss sequence. This means you need to kill a monstrosity that appears nearby, then pick up a sphere that the monstrosity drops, and slam this sphere into the generator.
Now you need to defend the generator core. Initially, it has a core integrity of 100%, which decreases over time. To keep the value high, you need to continuously kill monstrosities and bring their spheres to the generator.
Normal event completion: Keep the core integrity above the limit until the time runs out to complete the event in normal mode.
This is how you start the heroic event: While maintaining the core integrity, Taken Blights will spawn in three possible locations around the generator. Front, left, and right. Keep an eye on your surroundings and eliminate these blights quickly.
Once you have defeated enough blights, a Taken Blight will spawn directly above the generator along with three Taken Witches. Defeat the witches – and the heroic event begins.
How does the heroic version play out? You will be teleported to an Ascendant realm, where waves of enemies, witches, and a big boss await you. Defeat the boss, a Taken Knight, and the event is complete.
Why should I trigger heroically? For one, you receive better loot in the heroic event compared to the normal event, and for another, Petra Venj offers bounties that require you to complete heroic events.
