The new survival game Rend will soon receive several updates. The developers promise many new features and improved gameplay.
Rend roadmap: The Rend developers, Frostkeep Studios, have published a roadmap for fall and winter 2018. This outlines upcoming features such as sieges and new gear, as well as a new patch policy.
Better combat in Rend
Legendary gear: Rend is a survival game set in Norse mythology. Players find themselves in a picturesque landscape where mythical beings such as Draugr roam.
This fantasy will now be expanded in Rend. Upcoming features include legendary items such as weapons and armor, deriving from Norse mythology. They are said to be able to change the “balance of power.”
With this, Rend solidifies its planned status as a great survival MMORPG. It is not yet known which legendary artifacts will come, such as Thor’s hammer Mjölnir or Odin’s spear Gungnir.
Rend will be adapted to “modern shooters”: The weapons in Rend have so far been entirely ranged weapons. You have the choice between:
Bows
Crossbows
Repeaters
“Spike Launchers”
and “Shard Blasters”
Specifically, the abilities of creatures will now be changed to make combat a bit more interesting. The weapons and combat will also receive aesthetic and gameplay improvements to adapt the game more to “modern shooters.”
Improved combat between factions: In addition to the already improved combat system, the PvP should also be enhanced. Previously, it was possible to storm enemy bases at certain times, usually when they were already weakened by NPCs.
In future updates, there will be “dynamic sieges,” which should find factions in a more active combat setting. Siege weapons like catapults are to be integrated into the game.
To ensure more unity within the factions, the social system will also be revised. Players of a faction can form groups to experience PvE and PvP content together.
Instead of leaving the decision to “elders,” there will be access requests and a voting system. Crafting and storage will also be revised to make them clearer within the faction.
Better patch policy: The developers of Rend initially released smaller patches weekly. However, to address larger issues and deliver new features, patches are to be released less frequently but provide more content.

When will the updates be released? The roadmap refers to “fall and winter 2018.” There are no exact dates yet. Rend itself has been in early access since July 2018 and has been playable since then.
Now Fortnite also has its own Funko Pop figures. In the USA, the distinctive collectibles are already available for pre-order. The highlight of the toy offerings for Fortnite is, however, a giant inflatable Battle Bus. We present to you what kind of merchandise for Fortnite is available.
What is Funko Pop? Funko is an American company that produces “pop culture relevant” collectibles.
Funko PoPs are a series of figures with oversized heads on skinny bodies. They are therefore merchandise and collectible figures with a distinctive look: fan items for franchises.
There are Funko Pops for just about everything: Harry Potter, the Masters of the Universe, “Back to the Future” and recently, of course, also for Fortnite.
Now also for Fortnite: As Epic and Funko announce, the first lineup of Funko PoP figures is now known. Pre-orders have already started in the USA. The figures are expected to be delivered in December.
The deal has been in the works for a while and some fans have been waiting for these figures.

USA in Fortnite Merchandise Fever
Highlight is the €400 Battle Bus: Much more toys and merchandise for Fortnite are already circulating on Amazon USA. The highlight here is a gigantic inflatable Battle Bus from “Spirit Halloween.”
The Battle Bus is 5 meters tall and 5.5 meters wide. It costs $450, about €400.
Besides that, there is also a Fortnite rocket launcher in pumpkin style or various pickaxes for about $35.
Certainly, costumes are also being sold there, so ladies can slip into a plush costume of the Cuddle Team Leader for about $50.

Valve’s new card game, Artifact, has not yet been released. However, it is already causing a stir on Twitter, along with allegations of racism.
Whips for “Black”: In recent days, Valve has gradually introduced cards for the new trading card game Artifact, the card game based on Dota 2. One of the cards was titled “Crack the Whip,” which translates to: “Let the whip crack.”
This card modified “black heroes” according to the card text. This is a combination that can quickly be associated with less desirable themes. Fans brought attention to Twitter regarding the potentially racist combination.
Suggestion: You should REALLY change the name of this card. Having a card called “Crack the Whip” that says it modifies black heroes is not a good look, especially out of context. May I suggest something like “Intense Training”?
New Name for the Card: Valve quickly responded to the criticism. The connection between whips, “black heroes,” and slavery was apparently too obvious.
After it was pointed out that it could easily be misunderstood, Valve promptly renamed the corresponding card. “Crack the Whip” is now called “Coordinated Assault,” which translates roughly to: “Coordinated Assault.”

What Does the Card Do? The effect of the card is actually not further concerning. It strengthens a hero and grants him an effect:
Modifies a black hero with “After you played a black card, grant this hero and its allied neighbors +2 attack for this round.”
In Artifact, there are four different colors, similar to the new Magic card game, that apply to all cards and can be combined with various effects:
Red
Blue
Green
and Black
The effect of “Let the whip crack” only refers to black hero cards and other cards of the color black. Taken out of context, the card text could indeed cause some issues.
Users Confront Valve: However, the debate about the card also went beyond mere criticism of the misleading card text. Some users on Twitter responded with memes to draw Valve’s attention to the error.
It was also pointed out that the community on Twitch is known for quickly misunderstanding such small errors intentionally to use them “inappropriately.”
Other users reacted somewhat more harshly. User @BlackThvghts accused Valve of a lack of diversity by questioning whether a “POC” (People of Color) was present when the card was created.

After a wave of bans for an exploit in the MMORPG Neverwinter, this situation is turning into a PR disaster for Cryptic Studios.
Dealing with exploits is not easy for a game studio either. This is currently evident in the situation surrounding Neverwinter.
An exploit stirs emotions
What happened? In the current expansion Ravenloft, it was possible to repeat one of the newly introduced hunts infinitely, which yielded players many rewards in the form of Astral Diamonds each time. This exploit was reported to the developers before the release of Ravenloft in June of this year. Now in September, a hotfix was finally implemented across all platforms. However, there was also a threat of consequences for all who exploited this. A wave of bans followed.
This is why players are now angry: There are several reasons that have led Neverwinter fans to be very upset:
The exploit was not fixed for a long time, even though it had been known for months. There was also no response from the developers.
Many saw the exploit as a feature, especially because there was no reaction from the developers. Some used it to finally catch up with the power gamers. Without a response from the developers, some thought it was okay to do this.
Even players who had only exploited the exploit once or twice were rigorously banned.
The developers removed items from the inventories of some players without warning.
The team further fanned the flames with a clumsy response: “Exploits like these can negatively affect the ‘health’ of Neverwinter and impact players. The exploit has now been fixed. Players who chose to abuse the hunt system are violating our terms of service, thus action was taken against them. Any player who wishes to contest actions against their account may contact our customer service.”
Youtubers and streamers were even banned. Players now believe that this negatively impacts Neverwinter.
This is how fans are reacting: The community is angry. Especially on Twitter, players are venting their frustration. No matter what the developers post there, the community is discussing the wave of bans, criticizing the approach, and currently bombarding Twitter with the hashtag #DontBuyZen. This is a call to stop buying premium currency for the MMORPG. The situation is developing into a PR disaster for Cryptic Studios.
What players would have wished for: It would have been so easy to avoid all these problems. Fans themselves explain how the studio should have proceeded.
For one, Cryptic Studios should have responded directly to the report of the exploit.
The hotfix should have come out sooner.
A timely notice either on the website, in-game, or via email would have been necessary to warn players not to exploit this.
Not everyone is angry: A Neverwinter fan, who wishes to remain anonymous, even defends the developers. He states: “Knowing that you are doing something that goes against the intention of the game is cheating, and the vast majority of people who were banned did it for personal gain. The actions taken against those people were long overdue and not the fault of the company, but of the cheaters.”
Furthermore, the number of permanent bans is reportedly not so high, and the Cryptic Studios is apparently currently converting many bans into suspensions. Nonetheless, it is quite an uncomfortable situation for the development studio.

New numbers in Overwatch show that players on PC are increasingly specializing in one hero. The most popular heroes are Supports and Tanks.
More Mains in Season 12: An analysis by Omnic Meta shows that more and more players on PC are playing a hero as their “Main”. Players who frequently switch heroes are now a minority across all ranks.
More Mains in Overwatch – is that good or bad?
Where the trend comes from: According to Omnic Meta, about 55% of players are specialized in one hero as their “Main”. This means that the hero was selected more than 50% of the time. A “One-Trick-Pony” plays the hero even more than 80% of the time.
The value is currently at its highest level. The reasons for this can only be speculated. The most likely reason is the new Group Search system. Since players can choose a role before the game, it is easier for them to assemble compositions with their best heroes.
Overall, players seem to be better off climbing the ranks with their strongest hero rather than focusing on a role.
Tanks and Supports are the most popular: The heroes that players focus on the most are Healers and Tanks. There are six heroes who are played as a “Main” more frequently than others in at least one rank:
The numbers indicate that the heroes were present as a “Main” in at least 9% of all games in a rank. Three of them are the most played heroes for some areas of the rankings:
D.Va (Bronze)
Reinhardt (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond)
and Ana (Master, Grandmaster)
Is a Main for many people: Reinhardt.
No harm to the meta: The fact that players are increasingly specializing in one hero in Season 12 has little impact on the current meta game. The most popular compositions like Dive or Quad-Tank remain the strongest.
This is because the “Main” heroes are primarily those that dominate the meta game anyway or are one of their core heroes. Specialists and “One-Trick-Ponies” do not disrupt the meta.
There are some outliers in the list of “Mains” per rank, such as Winston, who is only played in the upper tier, or Pharah, who is only seen in the lower tier. The win rates can thus fluctuate accordingly but fit quite well into the list of the strongest heroes.
Omnic Meta concludes that players like to specialize in heroes that are already represented in the meta. This increases both the win rate of the heroes and the win probability of the players.

In Destiny 2, Bungie once again demonstrated how to artificially extend the launch phase. With clever time gates and scarcity of items, the “launch week” becomes a “launch month,” but this phase will soon be over, says our author Schuhmann.
That’s not how you do it: In September 2017, a “classic launch phase” could be observed in Destiny 2. The game was released, players dove into the campaign, rushed to reach max level, and had a lot of fun discovering new things and becoming increasingly powerful.
But just a few days later, the campaign was completed, players had all the gear they wanted, and the feeling was: “Nothing is happening here anymore.”
The initial euphoria was replaced by a cold realization: Destiny 2 had nothing more to offer us after the initial rush of the new.
While the experience was acceptable for “casual players,” it disappointed the veterans from Destiny 1. They had planned to set up their tents in Destiny 2 and engage with the game for months. That was not possible.
Destiny 2 quickly became stale.
Launch phase of Forsaken turned into a launch month
This is how you extend your launch phase: In Forsaken, it’s wonderfully observable how a launch phase becomes a launch month.
Bungie kept some aces up their sleeves and played them out calmly over a month. While classic games reveal everything on day one, Destiny 2 has a launch plan that Bungie has set up beforehand.
Time-gated content keeps Destiny 2 fresh throughout September
This is the key: The core element for this “extended launch phase” is relying on “time-gated content.” These are pieces of content that players cannot access in the first week but will be unlocked after several weeks.
In Destiny 2, the key was the “Dreaming City.”
With the delayed opening of the raid “Last Wish” and the death of the final boss there, a curse was set in motion that changed the Dreaming City in the following weeks.
Stretching content helps: Additionally, Destiny 2 has become much harder with Forsaken. It takes a long time to reach the max level.
During the leveling period, players always feel like there is still something to achieve and strive for. There are so many activities, so much to do.
The random rolls with Forsaken are also meant to ensure that players still have goals even after reaching 600. Optimizing a character by just a few fractions of a percent is enough for players to set goals.
Forsaken makes it interesting again to experiment with certain item combinations to discover new facets of gameplay.
Few exotics: It also corresponds to the fact that it’s difficult to optimize. The artificial scarcity of “masterwork cores” and the new exotic weapons ensure that players have long-term goals.
And if the “frustration” becomes too great, Bungie can still give in and open the floodgates.
A community in euphoria
These advantages come from this strategy: Destiny 2 felt throughout September as if it had just “released.” Players had new tasks to do every time they logged in.
Due to the “time-gated content,” which unlocked later, there were also frequent news and surprises. This kept Destiny 2 present in the media throughout the month. In 2018, this is no easy task when “games-as-a-service” titles like Fortnite have dominated gaming sites for months.
Inspiration “WoW”: With these tricks, Bungie clearly draws inspiration from games like World of Warcraft and their developer Blizzard. They are also known for such “time-gated content” that comes after a while.
WoW is also infamous for being stingy with items at the start of an expansion and making raids rather difficult.
Over time, everything becomes significantly easier, and there are easier loot options through “catch-up mechanics” for players who do not want or cannot invest as much time.
Destiny 2 will likely become easier in the coming months: Bungie seems to be following this strategy with Forsaken as well: They start off stingy and gradually turn the loot valve. However, with Destiny 2’s release, they made the mistake of being too generous from the start.
The high phase for Destiny 2 is likely now over
How long will this last? Bungie likely doesn’t have many secrets left to reveal at this point. October will certainly keep players busy, but the time for major “time-gated events” is likely over for now.
Destiny 2 must do better now than in 2015
Inspired by “The Taken King”: For Bungie, this is nothing new. They used these very tricks with “The Taken King”. Even then, September and October felt as if Destiny had just been released.
However, by November, that peak was also over, and the first players demanded new content. However, it didn’t come at that time. The peak of “The Taken King” was followed by a long drought of content. Bungie had exhausted all its options.
It will be interesting to see if Bungie can maintain this momentum from September longer with Forsaken than they did with “The Taken King.” The annual pass with the three new DLCs must deliver here.
The golden age of Destiny: But even if Bungie fails to achieve this, no one can take away from the players the greatness of their experience in September.
If “The Taken King” is remembered as the “golden period of Destiny 1” due to six great weeks in 2015, it can now be said: Bungie has once again succeeded with Destiny 2 Forsaken.

In FIFA 19 there are many different special cards. To keep track of the abbreviations of TOTY, TOTS, TOTW, MOTM, or OTW, we list all Special Cards from FUT for you.
Special cards are an integral part of Ultimate Team. By now, there are so many that many FUT newcomers do not know which abbreviation stands for which event card.
In this list we provide you with all special cards from FUT 19. If you want to know when each event occurs, you can check that in our FUT Event Calendar for FIFA 19.
Released every week: The “Team of the Week” (TOTW) is the most common special card in the game. Every Wednesday at 4 PM the new TOTW with 23 Informs is announced, from 7 PM it can be obtained in packs for one week.
The best players of the leagues: Every week the players with the best performances from the national leagues are selected. They receive a rating upgrade and a black special card. Position changes are also possible. The first “Team of the Week” was released before the game release.
Team of the Year (TOTY)
Released in early 2019: The best special cards of the FUT season come every year from the “Team of the Year” (TOTY). It is released by position starting in January – from the 7th.
The best players in the world: 11 blue special cards are part of the TOTY. Only the players who delivered the best performances in the calendar year 2018 make it into the team. The rating upgrades are substantial, so many players open a lot of packs during the TOTY period and there is a significant market crash.
Released at the end of the season: The “Team of the Season” (TOTS) is a slightly toned-down version of the TOTY. It is released in May 2019, when the leagues have stopped playing.
Almost every league has its own TOTS: The major leagues and some smaller ones each receive their own “Team of the Season”. These are also blue special cards. The upgrades are slightly lower than those in the TOTY and are based on performances from the 2018/2019 football season.

Ones to Watch (OTW)
Released before and in the middle of the season: The “Ones to Watch” are available in summer and winter editions. The summer OTWs are released at launch, while the winter OTWs are issued after the winter transfer period.
Dynamic special cards: The “Ones to Watch” cards initially share the same rating as the standard cards. However, if the player receives a special card, such as a TOTW, the values of the OTW card increase accordingly. Only players who changed clubs in the previous transfer period can become a “One to Watch”.
Player of the Month (POTM)
Released every month: The “Player of the Month” is chosen by the community and Premier League experts. Once the vote is cast, there will be an SBC available for a limited time in the following month, where you can obtain the player’s POTM card. Starting from FIFA 19, there is also a POTM from the Bundesliga in addition to the Premier League POTM.
Expensive challenge: Even though the rating is often very high, the SBC is only worth it if you really want the player. This is because the cards you must submit have a high value.

Recently, Division developer Massive published a first dev blog entry about The Division 2. In it, they provided a more detailed look at weapon mods and the revamped grenades.
What is the blog about? The developer blog “Intelligence Annex” for The Division 2 aims to inform fans about various topics on a monthly basis.
In addition to weapon categories and talents, it also discussed mods and grenades and how they function in The Division 2. Compared to its predecessor, these have been significantly reworked.
Mods are unlocked, not looted
The biggest change is likely the way you acquire mods. Mods are no longer part of the general loot in The Division 2.
How do you get mods? You can unlock them during your gameplay. Once you have unlocked a specific mod, you can attach it to multiple weapons at any time.
However, not every mod can be attached to every weapon, as weapons have different calibers, and not every suppressor and magazine is compatible with all weapons.
Therefore, this step was taken: In The Division 1, there were several weapon mods that were generally considered must-haves.
This made the modding system as a whole less motivating, as everyone was just looking for that one specific category of mods.
Overly large numbers in magazine sizes would have made reloading less important. Stability and precision altered weapon handling too much. Instead, mods are intended to support various playstyles in the future.
Weapon mods have fixed stats, not just advantages
In The Division 1, all bonuses obtained from mods had a minimum and a maximum value. A suppressor could vary between +16% and +18.5% headshot damage at its highest level. Stats also only had positive effects.
How does it work in The Division 2? Each weapon mod will have fixed, non-variable stats. Additionally, each mod will have a negative effect alongside the bonus.

What is changing? There will only be a total of four different grenade types. However, you will not be able to use all types simultaneously. Three of the four types are linked to your chosen specialization except for one.
What are specializations? Specializations are a new feature in The Division 2 and are unlocked once you reach the maximum level. They allow the player to focus on specific playstyles.
