In Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, looting in Blackout mode is set to be simplified. Treyarch has now given a first look at the new system.
What happened? Treyarch’s Studio Design Lead, David Vonderhaar, introduced the new Stash Looting System for the first time in a tweet, which aims to simplify looting in the in-house Battle Royale mode Blackout. This involves an overhauled User Interface (UI) that provides more clarity and shorter loot times.
How the current Stash Looting System works: A stash is referred to as any group of items that are summarized and displayed in a “loot container” – for example, loot boxes or loot from dead enemies, including the weapons and items contained within.
This is what the UI looks like so far (on consoles)
So far, after interacting with a stash, players have to awkwardly and confusingly scroll through each loot item contained within. This feels cumbersome, especially on consoles, and can lead to players leaving loot behind or dying while searching through the loot at critical moments.
This is what the new looting system will look like: The new UI is intended to make this process clearer and faster. The items in the stash will now be displayed in groups rather than individually, allowing for a more efficient selection of desired items.
This is what the new UI looks like
This change is currently being tested, and bugs are being addressed, Vonderhaar mentioned in his tweet. They are currently discussing whether to use two rows of 5 items each or three rows of 5 items.
Two rows would display 10 items, but a stash often contains more than 10 items, which would require tabs for groups. Three rows mean fewer tabs but take up more screen space, potentially restricting visibility. However, Treyarch indicated that even with three rows, visibility should still be adequate.
What this change means for players: Especially players using gamepads, such as on PS4 and Xbox One, should greatly benefit from this change.
This allows players to choose desired items faster in critical situations and dive back into the fight. Previously, players had to awkwardly click through all loot items individually to view all items and select the desired one.
This is the UI on PC (Source: Reddit User zstrafekiller)
On PC, it was somewhat easier with a mouse and keyboard thanks to its own UI. However, even there, the change should help players loot faster and more efficiently.
And even if it’s “just” a “Quality of Life” change – it is one of the most requested features by the community that has been discussed since shortly after the release of Black Ops 4.
When will the UI change come? Vonderhaar did not reveal exactly when to expect this feature. However, since the new looting system is already in the testing phase and getting bug fixes, it should not be long before it’s released.
Those who have too much money will get rid of it in MMORPGs. Now, a Ragnarok player has bought a mount for nearly $60,000.
Mounts in MMORPGs are often prestige objects. Many of them are rare drops from bosses, while others are available for real money in the shop. Some games allow players to bid for their mounts using in-game currency, such as in an auction house. Now, a mount has been sold for the equivalent of $60,000 (~€52,600).
What happened? In the mobile MMORPG “Ragnarok M: Eternal Love,” there are auctions with special offers. Here, you pay with a premium currency, the “Big Cat Coins” (BCC). 6 BCC are worth $1. Now, the auction for an item has been driven up to 360,000 BCC – that’s equivalent to $60,000! This item is the mount “Key of Heaven” – a white, glowing unicorn with wings.
Who is the buyer? The buyer of the mount is the player MambaaElChap from Indonesia. Only he and a Chinese player were bidding for the mount, doubling its value in the last five minutes of the auction.
More expensive auctions: If you think that such exorbitant prices are a rarity in Ragnarok M, you are mistaken. Items worth thousands of dollars are regularly sold in Ragnarok M. Here are some examples from the past weeks:
Golden Thief Bug Card – 110,956 BCC (~$18,500)
Moonlight Flower Card – 92,880 BCC (~$15,500)
Eddga Card – 82,861 BCC (~$13,800)
Kobold Leader Card – 69,896 BCC (~ $11,650)

Even the little reminder at the top of the screen saying “Play moderately and spend money wisely” doesn’t help.
Speculations about money laundering: These prices are hotly debated within the player community. There are ongoing suspicions that such high auctions are related to money laundering. Of course, there is no evidence for this – perhaps someone simply really, really wants this mount.
What do you think lies behind this? A very passionate player who simply has no money worries? Or does it sound like criminal activities in the background? Or is it simply utterly crazy to spend so much money on a game?
Where can you find the shotgun? You have a chance to obtain the shotgun “Anarchy” if you complete the raid. It can be found in the last chest after the final boss of the raid, Insurrection Prime. However, it is not a guaranteed drop.
What is special about Anarchy? The special thing is that Anarchy does not throw grenades but sticky mines.
These mines stick to any surface: to Guardians, aliens or areas. They deal damage to enemies over time.
If you lay multiple sticky mines, they create a damage field between them. This deals damage to all enemies in this field.
It is therefore a mix of dot-slinger and geometry fun for the whole family.
How good is the raid exotic with Black Armory in Destiny 2?
This says YouTuber Nexxoss: The German-speaking YouTuber Nexxoss tested the weapon “Anarchy.” Here are his results:
The weapon deals double damage against individual enemies in PvE when two mines stick to one enemy. The damage is relatively high.
More than 2 mines on one enemy only deal minimally higher damage. Thus, two mines are sufficient to harass single targets with Anarchy.

Even with a minefield on the ground, it is sufficient to lay two mines. Additional mines increase the field but not the damage.
In PvE, the weapon is especially interesting because you can stick two mines to a large enemy and then keep shooting him with another weapon.
The minefields are suitable for hordes of enemies.
For PvP, Nexxoss cannot recommend the weapon “Anarchy.” Although you can stick the mines to enemies and ultimately take them out, they remain alive long enough to eliminate you.
According to Nexxoss, “Anarchy” is a fun weapon in PvE. While there are better weapons that deal more damage, the unique playstyle is enjoyable.
This says Aztecross Gaming: YouTuber Aztecross Gaming contributes some numbers to the weapon test of “Anarchy.”
The mines last for 20 to 25 seconds as long as they are not active. When the damage field activates, it is active for about 11.5 seconds. The field needs two ticks in PvP to kill an enemy, as it only deals 135 damage.
The field is well visible, and few enemies will walk into it. In addition, all mines explode once the bearer of the weapon dies.
Also, Aztecross Gaming cannot recommend “Anarchy” for PvP.

In PvE, a sticky grenade also ticks for 11.5 seconds for 786 damage each.
In addition, there is a small impact damage (141) and a larger explosion at the end (559).
When you attach two sticky grenades to an enemy, the numbers are doubled. But Aztecross is ultimately not impressed by that.
Aztecross sees the utility of the weapon in building a barrier with two sticky mines in front of him to destroy many melee enemies in horde-mode activities.
However, he is not particularly enthusiastic about the weapon. For him, a heavy weapon should deal maximum damage immediately. The weapon is good for encounters where you need to take down both the boss and many adds at the same time. However, Aztecross can only think of Omnigul for that – and that was only in Destiny 1.
It looks like “Anarchy” is a fun weapon, but not a “must-have” like the earlier raid exotics.
Data miners have dug through the game files of The Elder Scrolls Online and found hints about the new chapter. We will tell you what they found.
This is what happened: Some fans have used certain tools to extract the game files of The Elder Scrolls Online and found some texts and files that mention upcoming content. The findings are now being discussed in the forum, on Reddit, and also on the MeinMMO Discord.
Warning! The following text contains major spoilers.
This is likely in the new chapter of ESO
What have the data miners found? The game files repeatedly show hints of three major themes:
Elsweyr
Dragons
Necromancy
A description for the new chapter was also found:
Travel to the land of the Khajiit in The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, our newest chapter, an epic story in a brand new zone. Face horrific creatures of the past – dragons! – and discover the dark arts of a new character class, the necromancer, as you encounter new friends and old foes to save Elsweyr from war and destruction. ESO reaches new heights of storytelling with a war against the dragons unfolding and building to an unexpected climax over four quarterly releases.
New Area – Elsweyr: The new chapter will likely take you to the land of the Khajiit, Elsweyr (pronounced: “elsewhere”). According to the Elder Scrolls Wiki, Elsweyr is divided into two nations, Anequina in the north and Pelletine in the south. Both are part of the Aldmeri Dominion.
The land consists of jungles and forested areas and is bordered by Valenwood in the west and Cyrodiil in the north and east. Elsweyr has also been predicted by our author Jürgen as a new expansion.
New Class – Necromancers: Aside from the name, not much is known about the new class of the necromancer. From other games and the history of Elder Scrolls, we know that necromancers have a focus on summoning the undead.
So it’s quite possible that the necromancer will be a new pet class that deals with zombies and skeletons against opponents. It is most likely going to have a DPS role, but possibly also a tank role.
New Enemies – Dragons: Dragons were already a constant threat in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, constantly harassing players. Now they apparently are also becoming enemies in ESO.
However, how exactly the dragons will be implemented, whether they will be “common enemies” or special bosses, is still unclear.

How fans are reacting: The consensus among fans is almost unanimous. They are excited about Elsweyr and looking forward to the new content. Each of the new features has its supporters, whether due to curiosity about the new class and the new enemies or from a thirst for more lore from the land of the Khajiit.
Fallout 76 takes place after a fictional atomic war. In war, there are always losses and sad stories. A silent scene in Appalachia tells one such story, perhaps the saddest in the entire game.
Those who explore Appalachia will frequently stumble upon special images if they look closely enough. Many of them can leave a lasting impression, even if they exist “only” in a game. We have already introduced you to some particularly creepy places.
However, another place left an even deeper impression on the author of this text.
The Tragic Story of a Family
The probably saddest place in all of Fallout 76 can be found at the Kanawha lookout tower: eastern view, fairly central in the forest. The story that the images tell unfolds around and inside the lookout tower.
When you arrive at the tower, the first thing you will likely notice is a large mound of dirt piled directly beneath the tower. This takes up a good portion of the area and is hard to overlook.
On the hill, you will find a teddy bear and some wooden blocks with letters. The blocks spell out the word: “My Angel”.
Slightly beside the grave lies an overturned stroller, next to it kneels a charred corpse. Just this gives a good impression of what might have happened here. However, that’s not the whole story.
The Fate of the Mother
This place is not only about the apparent burial of a small child. The fate of the parents, or at least the mother, is also clarified. And this does not refer to the charred corpse.
If you go up the tower, you will find at the top the body of a woman, collapsed in a corner. Around the woman, wooden blocks are scattered, just like those below on the grave. Next to her is a small sleeping area where an empty baby bottle lies.
If you examine the woman more closely, you will find an improvised revolver beside her left hand. This is already the first clue as to what has happened. You will find certainty with a glance at the wall.
Right where the woman’s head rests, there is a huge bloodstain on the wall.
What do you think of this way of telling stories in the game?
Appalachia is not only a place of sorrow but also of joy. A couple recently celebrated the first wedding in Fallout 76:
No armor sets: Many games have accustomed players to collecting armor sets. These match visually or provide bonuses when wearing multiple parts of the set. This will not be the case in Anthem. There will be no set armors, at least not at launch. This raises hopes that armor sets may also appear in a later patch.
Plenty of legendary gear: There shouldn’t be a lack of targets anytime soon. After all, Anthem comes with nearly 100 legendary items that should provide the right response for every situation.
“Scrap” can be dismantled: Those who are just unlucky with their drops need not despair. Unwanted gear can be “salvaged”, meaning it can be dismantled into its individual parts. What exactly that brings and whether one can craft things from these individual parts remains to be seen.
Inventory space for plenty of stuff: Sooner or later, there is always a lack of inventory space in games with loot. In Anthem, this shouldn’t happen anytime soon, as there will be “250 slots”. This could still change before launch, but is a solid guideline.
Proven loot concept with color scheme: In other aspects, Anthem is classic and adheres to the proven “color system” of items that players are already familiar with from Diablo, WoW, or also Borderlands. Depending on the color of the item name, an item is rarer and stronger:
Common (white)
Uncommon (green)
Rare (blue)
Epic (purple)
Masterwork (orange)
Legendary (yellow)
So when yellow text appears in the inventory, it is a reason for joy.
High difficulty brings better loot: It is also interesting that the difficulty level determines the chance for good loot. For example, one receives legendary weapons less frequently on “normal” than on “Grandmaster”. In general, the rule is: The harder the content, the better the chance for good loot.
Do you like this information about the loot system of Anthem? Or is there an aspect that definitely needs to be changed?
The name of a supposed professional player is currently circulating in the Overwatch community: Ellie. After a heated controversy and much dispute, it is now clear that Ellie never existed. Blizzard explains in a statement how this fake came to be.
What happened? A team from the Overwatch Contenders, Second Wind, wanted to sign a new player. This player only went by the name “Ellie” and disclosed nothing else about herself.
Ellie was sharply scrutinized by the community and labeled a fake. MeinMMO reported.
This is the current status: In a statement, Blizzard confirmed that Ellie never existed as a player. Second Wind announced the signing of Ellie before her account was verified by Blizzard.
Therefore, the controversy was possible at all.
How could this happen?
This is what Second Wind says: The professional team explained in a TwitLonger post how the situation arose. The culprits were time pressure, which forced the team to fill the roster faster:
Out of desperation to fill the roster, we overlooked important information that should have been scrutinized more carefully. We did not spend enough time communicating with the public as an opportunity to support our players. As a result, we created more questionable scenarios than necessary.
Ellie had previously been known to the team. Some members of Second Wind had played with Ellie and confirmed the player’s quality. Since the account was also ranked 4th in North America, the offer was ultimately made.
This is what Blizzard says: Second Wind contacted Blizzard to clarify the controversy that had arisen. Blizzard confirmed to the US site Unikrn that Ellie was merely a “made-up identity and the smurf account” of another player.
This player had no current or former connection to the Overwatch Contenders or the Overwatch League. Additionally, Ellie was never an official member of Second Wind at any time. Therefore, the official verification was missing.
Whether the owner of the account is indeed Punisher, as streamer Aspen claims, has not been confirmed by Blizzard.
Verification prevents such situations: Blizzard also stated that such situations should not be able to occur. A verification like the one that was initiated usually happens before a player is announced in the team.
As part of the process of officially adding a player to a Contenders or Overwatch League roster, we first conduct a background check to ensure that players are who they claim to be and meet further eligibility requirements. We take action against players if we find behavior that warrants action.
The issue surrounding Ellie arose because Second Wind made a mistake, which the team also admitted: They announced the signing too early.
However, there is no punishment for Second Wind because they were just as misled as the community.
What do you think about the situation?
eSports is a tough business. A prominent figure comments on the status of the Overwatch eSports:
If you want to achieve some heroic deeds in World of Warcraft, you should hurry. Soon the achievements will no longer be accessible.
In World of Warcraft, every player pursues their own personal goals. While some love to raid, others dive into PvP or collect achievements. However, some achievements can only be obtained for a limited time. If you want to have them forever in your collection, you must hurry.
Which achievements are we talking about? With the new raid “Battle of Dazar’Alor,” a new PvE season begins in World of Warcraft. This means that “current” raids will become outdated, and new gear will make it easier to obtain certain achievements. Therefore, the following achievements will no longer be possible:
Ahead of the Curve: G’huun – Defeat G’huun on Heroic or higher before the next raid is released.
Cutting Edge: G’huun – Defeat G’huun on Mythic before the next raid is released.
In addition, there are various dungeon achievements for “Mythic+” dungeons.
Keystone Master of Battle for Azeroth: Season 1 – Complete all Mythic dungeons from Season 1 at level 10 or higher within the time limit.
Keystone Hero of Battle for Azeroth: Season 1 – Complete all Mythic dungeons from Season 1 at level 15 or higher within the time limit.
How much time is left? The new season begins on January 22 (America) or January 23 (Europe). After the weekly server maintenance, the achievements will no longer be available and Season 2 will officially begin. From then on, players will also encounter the new affix from Bwonsamdi.
Dungeons will become harder: At the same time, on January 22/23, all dungeons from Battle for Azeroth will also become harder and the rewards will be increased. It might take a few weeks before “Mythic+10” is seen as a walk in the park again.
Have you already earned the achievements? Or are you planning to grab the last achievements just before the season change?

Tips from the right professional in FIFA 19: eSports professional Mirza Jahic shows you here on MeinMMO his special Beton tactic in Ultimate Team, with which he achieves many victories daily.
What is it about? Mirza Jahic is one of the best FIFA players in Germany and also a successful streamer. He has already become the German Champion in FIFA and five times Austrian Champion. Through his videos and streams, he helps FIFA players who want to learn more about the game and improve themselves.
The Beton tactic has been perfected by Jahic in FIFA 19, and he presents it to you so that you can also stand defensively particularly compact and decide the game in your favor at the end. This is a guest contribution by Mirza Jahic.
With this individual tactic, Mirza Jahic wins in FIFA 19
With the new Dynamic Tactics in FIFA 19, you can set up several tactics for your squad and easily select them in the game via the D-pad. In this article, I want to introduce you to a tactic that I personally play and have perfected over time.
This is the so-called “Beton tactic”. It is characterized by standing defensively absolutely compact but being able to build the game optimally offensively.
The tactic itself is particularly important for players who have difficulties in defense and want to stand more compact in the back.
What is the Beton tactic?
With the Beton tactic, all players work together backward and position themselves during their own ball possession to build up the game. To ensure that every player really works backward, the individual tactic heavily depends on the instructions you give to the players in your team.
For the Beton tactic, you should strengthen the defense with all players so that the players initially stay in the backfield.
The instructions
For all players in your team to come back and work backward, you must first give the following instructions:
Forwards and midfield: Defensive support – Strengthen the defense
Outside defenders: Offensive runs – Stay back on attacks
Center backs: Offensive support – Stay back on attacks
The tactic settings
Now I will go into detail about the settings you need to make under “Tactics”.
Defense
For defense, I first set the defensive style to “Pressure on mistakes”. I find this the best because it creates compactness in the backfield at the beginning. The players do not aggressively press, as is the case with pressing after losing the ball. Instead, they stand compact and only apply pressure when the opponent becomes uncertain or makes a misplaced pass or similar. After that, the pressure is applied. However, the compactness remains intact.
Under “Defense”, you can also adjust the width and depth of your formation.
The width indicates how narrow or wide the entire back four stands.
The depth indicates how high or how deep the back four stands.
I believe that a good balance is important here, so that one does not stand too deep or too high and not too narrow and not too wide. Therefore, I do not make any changes here, but leave it at the average value.
Attack
Offensive style: In attack, I choose offensive style “Possession”, because I want to ensure that I can control how I build the game.
If you select a different attacking style, it will happen that the players automatically run forward. This is especially the case with the “Counter” style. With “Possession”, the players always offer themselves, and you can send them with L1 or LB. This way, the game, especially the possession play, can be built up very controlled.
However, it is also possible to counter with this setting. When you notice that there is space, you send a player, and he runs into position. I find this mix important. I recommend possession if you want to build your game nicely and controlled and want to avoid pressing.
The width can also be adjusted offensively. Here, I only provide one bar more than the average to improve wing play but still not stand too wide. If you go wider, gaps open up in the middle, which would be dangerous.
Players in the area: For “Players in the area”, I have lowered the slider a little because I want the players to position themselves around the penalty area. The higher the value is set here, the more players run into the penalty area. This increases offensive power but also increases the risk of counterattacks. The lower the value is set, the more compactness there is in your team, and the players position themselves around the penalty area.
Since many goals in FIFA 19 are scored with the new “Timed Finishes” around the 16-meter area, this is not a problem at all. Here you just need to make sure to move your offensive players into a good shooting spot and then finish.
I choose three out of five for corners and free kicks. I don’t change much here.
More tips in the book “From Hobby Gamer to Pro Gamer”
Mirza Jahic has now also published a book titled “From Hobby Gamer to Pro Gamer”. It comprises 152 pages and shows the path to becoming an eSports professional. It also contains numerous tips on how to achieve this goal yourself.

The big update 10.0 for the new survival MMO Atlas is coming. It brings numerous bug fixes and further improvements. One new feature stands out: eating feces will kill you.
What does the patch bring? Update 10.0 includes various innovations aimed at enhancing the gameplay of Atlas. A specific feature is being implemented that was already present in its spiritual predecessor ARK: it will be possible to eat feces.
And with that, players can commit suicide using the feces feature. This is something that will prove to be a very important change in the current state of the game.
The new features of update 10.0 for Atlas
Why is the feces feature good? Atlas has been online on Steam for a few weeks and is being played by thousands of players. Many players find themselves getting stuck. Currently, there are hardly any options to free themselves from such a situation.
Starving and respawning can take quite a long time. Eating feces will kill a character instantly. This allows players to get back into the game faster. However, the patch notes do not clarify whose feces need to be eaten. It is likely that one’s own excrement will suffice.
These additional features are coming: In addition to the feces feature, Grapeshot is implementing further “quality of life” changes. For update 10.0 of Atlas, these mainly involve adjustments to the extreme temperatures that are often responsible for the deaths of thousands of pirates.
Other important features of the patch include:
a favorites menu for private servers
reduced stamina consumption when digging
reduction of ship building costs
66% reduced damage from sea monsters
Additionally, merchants offer cheaper ships aimed at facilitating players’ entry into the game. The complete patch notes in English can be found in the Atlas forum.
When will the patch be released? The new patch is scheduled for Monday, January 7. However, the developers reserve the right to release some features later. Some of the innovations will also be activated only on Wednesday, January 9.
How well are the patches received by the community? Within 2 weeks, since our last measurement, the share of positive reviews on Steam has increased by 7%, now standing at 31% (as of January 6, 2019). Not least, the frequent updates – a promise that the developer has kept following the launch issues – are a reason for the gradually improving sentiment.
This is also recognized by Steam user Paffy in his review: “They have released patches day after day to ensure that customers receive a better game.” And the mood on Reddit for Atlas is slowly turning positive. The post “Well done, Atlas developers” with the opening line “I just wanted to tell the Atlas devs that the game is becoming more and more fun” received relatively much support.
Nevertheless, Atlas remains a phenomenon and, according to Steamcharts, despite its Steam review rating of “mostly negative,” it is among the 15 most played games on Steam. Player numbers remain consistently high.
What this trainer has achieved in Pokémon GO is incredible! He has not only collected all the Shinies available in the game but also has them as Lucky Pokémon.
The Pokémon GO player “HelsinkiTrolli” from Finland has reached a milestone that very few trainers have achieved. He has a complete PokéDex of Shinies. He possesses every Pokémon that can be Shiny in its shiny form. Additionally, he has both the male and female forms of each of these Pokémon and at least one Lucky Pokémon.
We asked the player a few questions and will reveal to you how he managed this incredible journey.
How the player achieved this goal
What has the player achieved? “HelsinkiTrolli” has achieved multiple goals at once. He has:
All 145 Shinies available in the game
Each of these Pokémon in male and female form
Each of these Pokémon as a Lucky Pokémon
How did he achieve it? The trainer wrote to us that he accomplished this only with his great community in Helsinki. Over 120 players from Team Wagemut, with whom he has high friendship levels, contributed to this success.
How many Shinies did he catch himself? HelsinkiTrolli claims that he traded for about 20 Shinies; he caught or hatched all the other Shinies himself.
How much did he have to trade for that? In total, the trainer conducted over 5900 trades to ensure he had each Pokémon as a Lucky Pokémon.
This is what he traded for the Shinies: The player states that he usually traded a Shiny for a Shiny. However, Incognito was also very popular.
What is his favorite shiny? His favorite among the Shinies is the black Charizard. But his 100% IV Rockruff in Shiny is also one of his favorites.
What makes this so special? On one hand, there are numerous Shinies that are very rare. For example, the baby Pokémon that can only be found in eggs are scarce, and hardly anyone wants to trade these.
On top of that, there’s the challenge of getting each Pokémon as a Lucky Pokémon. To do this, he must have traded numerous Pokémon that are not particularly common. This especially includes baby Pokémon or things like Tannza or Sleima.
Such a milestone is definitely incredible. Many players only own a fraction of these Shinies and do not have nearly as many Lucky Pokémon.
The data miner Chrales has found new costumes in the code of Pokémon GO. We will show you what it looks like:
There are now a total of 7 expansions for World of Warcraft. But which addon was the best and which was the worst?
With World of Warcraft, Blizzard has achieved something that only a few other games have managed. The MMORPG has now lasted for well over a decade and is still regularly updated with new patches or even entire expansions. It’s time to take a look back at the various expansions and rank them in a list.
The ranking is based on my personal feelings and memories of the respective times. Feel free to contribute your perspective in the comments.
Which expansion was the best and which addon was the worst?
Rank 5: Wrath of the Lich King
For many players, Wrath of the Lich King is perhaps the most beautiful addon, which they associate with their greatest memories. It wasn’t the case for me, though. Even though I recall many beautiful moments, especially the Ulduar raid remains a pleasant memory.
However, I did not like Arthas’ ending at all. Back then, I felt his end was undignified, even though that has changed in the years since.
I also missed different incentives in the endgame in Wrath of the Lich King, especially regarding the solo experience. I still remember that I played a lot of PvP in Wrath – due to a lack of alternatives.
Completing the same 8 daily quests at the Argent Tournament every day, only to repeat the whole thing for 4 more factions that offered exactly the same quests, eventually became too silly for me.
Wrath of the Lich King was a time for me in WoW when I logged in because it was “expected of me” through raid and guild. But at least the raids were well-designed, the fights were fun, and the differentiation of different difficulty levels was exciting and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, the expansion couldn’t really captivate me, and the fact that I still don’t have the ridiculous weapon grip on the Pit of Saron makes it no better.
The highlight from Wrath of the Lich King: The Grizzly Hills. Only a few areas have ever reached this level of beauty again. The soothing soundtrack and the fantastic landscape with its many flower meadows and forests still make me want to linger there. Only a few zones are as atmospherically perfect as this.
In the Grizzly Hills, one can let the soul wander.
On the next page, we continue with Rank 4…

You can easily collect the last points of your professions in World of Warcraft right now – the Darkmoon Faire received an update.
Professions in World of Warcraft are not necessarily the most useful for many players right now, but collectors and fans of completeness still like to level them. However, the last skill points from Kul Tiras (Alliance) or Zandalar (Horde) can be expensive. Depending on the profession, you spend several thousand gold coins just to craft a few items that you then scrap. But the last points are now easy to obtain.
With Patch 8.1, the Darkmoon Faire has been slightly revised. This mainly affects the crafting quests, whose rewards have been brought up to date. They increase the respective crafting skill by up to 5 points upon quest completion, no matter how far you have already progressed. The quests are mostly very simple collecting tasks with no costs or requirements. This is especially worthwhile if you are close to the maximum of the respective profession because then the points are particularly valuable or expensive.
How long is the Darkmoon Faire there? As usual, the faire lasts exactly one week, from the first Sunday of the month to the second Saturday of the month – from 06.01.2019 to 12.01.2019. You can reach the faire via the portals in the Forest of Elwynn (Goldshire) or Mulgore (Thunder Bluff).
Reputation bonuses are also worthwhile: With the new Paragon rewards, the reputation bonus from the Darkmoon Carousel is also worthwhile. For one hour, all gained reputation (and the received XP) is increased by 10%. The perfect opportunity to earn some Paragon reward.
The star of Fortnite is Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. He is arguably the most popular gamer in the world and has numerous followers on YouTube and Twitch. Now he reveals how much money he made with Fortnite in 2018. It is about 10 million US dollars.
This is how much money Ninja made: He made “about 10 million US dollars” in 2018, says the 27-year-old streamer to the business site CNN Business in an interview. That is about 8.6 million euros.
Ninja earns 7 million $ through YouTube and Twitch
How does Ninja earn so much money? Ninja himself estimates that about 70% of his income, or about 7 million US dollars, comes from YouTube and Twitch.
Every time his 20 million YouTube subscribers see an ad on his channel, he makes some money from it. And Ninja’s videos have been watched by a lot of people on YouTube. In total, his channel has over 1.6 billion views.
On Twitch, he has 12.8 million followers who regularly watch his live streams. Ninja also earns money on Twitch through advertisements.
Additionally, there are about 40,000 Twitch subscribers. They support him monthly by signing up for a paid subscription on Twitch for one month. One tier costs 4.99$, 9.99$, or 25$. Ninja receives a part of this money.
However, Ninja says that Twitch could do better at encouraging people to purchase the more expensive subscriber tiers.
The remaining 30% of Ninja’s income comes from sponsorship deals with companies like Samsung, Uber Eats, or Red Bull.

He estimates that he worked about 4000 hours on Fortnite in 2018. The year has only 8760 hours. This means that Ninja spent almost every 2 hours of 2018 playing and streaming Fortnite.
Every time Ninja is not streaming, he and his wife/manager Jess calculate how many subscribers and how much money they lose.
The couple rarely takes vacation. The last time they went on a trip together was during their honeymoon.
Does the current figure match what we thought before? The 10 million US dollars a year is even more than what his colleague DisguisedToast estimated. He calculated his own numbers to Ninja dimensions and came up with about 700,000 US dollars in monthly income.
However, Disguised Toast did not factor in the sponsorship deals, but excluded them. His calculation was therefore quite correct, as we know today.
The online shooter Destiny 2 actually continues its story from Forsaken every week. But those who want to see it have to make an effort and complete a quest each week to gain an audience with the queen. So, few see what is happening in the background.
Destiny 2 is often criticized for not bringing enough new content. And the content that comes every week is hardly seen by anyone.
This is the situation in Destiny 2 right now: The heart of Destiny 2 Forsaken is the “Dreaming City.” It is trapped in a curse, so it resets every three weeks and the curse begins anew.
This is due to a clever move by Savathûn, a trickster goddess inspired by corrupted Vex ideas. Typical Destiny.
The devilish plan is that the Guardians must go through this curse cycle; otherwise, the Taken will overrun the Dreaming City. However, by going through the cycle, Savathûn grows stronger.
The NPCs of Destiny know that they are stuck in this curse and comment on it to the player. They try to break this cycle and are seeking help from Mara Sov.
The audience with the queen is different every week
This is what you need to do to see the story: This background story can only be seen by those who put in some effort and do this every week starting Tuesday evening:
You have to get a quest from Petra Venj – it costs 40 Dark Fragments.
After that, you must complete this quest and finish the Blind Well either 5 times on Tier 2 or 2 times on Tier 3 heroic.
Then you pilgrimage to the Oracle location, offer your sacrifice, and either watch a cutscene or listen to an audio segment. An audience with the queen, Mara Sov, is granted.
The special part: This “audience” with the queen changes from week to week. Even though the rest remains relatively static, this audience is the moving part that progresses and tells an ongoing story.
Through the Oracle, players can contact Mara Sov and ask for her help. However, she seems to be involved in some sort of metaphysical conflict and is fighting on other fronts.

In the last week, the players’ Ghost became increasingly grumpy and confronted Mara Sov about why she was always absent and only spoke cryptically without helping the players break the curse.
The Ghost is becoming more and more frustrated. After all, we are now in the 7th cycle.
Before that, players could watch the cutscene, in which Uldren Sov awakens, or mysterious triangular ships with which Mara Sov is negotiating.
This is the problem: As Forbes notes, it is quite elaborate and tedious to complete this quest every week. It is estimated that only about 5-10% of all players go through this effort and actively pursue the quest.
Some would merely experience this on YouTube.
Even in Destiny 1, Bungie was criticized for telling a great story, but outside of the game through the Grimoire. In Destiny 2, the story is now in the game, but quite hidden.

WildStar (June 3, 2014 – November 28, 2018)
What was WildStar?WildStar is the biggest loss of 2018, as it was one of the last major western MMORPG developments. It was a colorful sci-fi game that had one of the best combat systems in the genre. You had to be alert and have good reflexes to master the action fights and succeed in the extremely challenging raids.
Why it failed: WildStar initially overestimated the willingness of players to dive into extremely tough 40-man raids. Then came a longer content drought after release, despite contrary promises, which frightened away many players.
Additionally, the studio Carbine was reportedly not very efficiently organized and made many mistakes. In any case, the number of players decreased year by year, and a switch to free-to-play helped little after a brief uptick.
How long did the game last? WildStar lasted long and was alive from June 3, 2014, to November 28, 2018. Thus, it was almost five years old before the plug was finally pulled.
This is what remains positively in memory: WildStar had an extremely large number of cool aspects. Listing them all would exceed the scope of this article, but especially the housing was amazing. You could basically build anything you wanted and assemble houses from countless individual parts.
In addition, there was the wonderfully dynamic combat system that you had to master perfectly for the tough instances. When you defeated one of the extremely challenging bosses, the sense of achievement was immense.
The humor was also not lacking, and WildStar brought some really crazy characters into the game, like the nasty hamsters called Chua or the constantly drinking stone people of the Granok.
Fallout 76 is always the stage for particularly quirky or great moments from players. A couple has now chosen Appalachia to celebrate their wedding there, with ceremony, rings, pastor, and sponsor.
This is what happened: Two players of Fallout 76 used the game to exchange vows. They were married in Fallout 76 by another player.
In real life, they had already been married before, but for Fallout 76 this is the first “in-game wedding.”
This is how the ceremony went: The couple had previously married at the registry office in Fallout 76, with just a signature and no celebration. The celebration was to be made up for in Fallout 76, as the couple plays together.
The two met a player in the game who agreed to officiate. They chose the Mothman Museum as the location of the ceremony, where an altar stands for the followers of the Church of the Mothman. The ceremony took place at this altar.
The couple arrived at the wedding in fine attire, the “pastor” in power armor. Power armors come in many variants and the pastor’s had a “Nuka-Cola” paint job. A small nod to the “sponsor” of the wedding.
Good time and underwater party: The ceremony was documented by the players with the photo tool in Fallout 76 and the pictures were later shared on Twitter. There were many hearts and group pictures.
After the ceremony, the players held a small party – underwater and with a Christmas tree.
This is how the community reacts: Most players are excited about this RP event and find it great that others come up with something like this. The comments mostly consist of congratulations. The Fallout 76 community is generally seen as helpful and nice.
The Pokémon GO dataminer Chrales has once again searched the game’s code and stumbled upon new costumes for Pokémon.
The dataminer Chrales is known for regularly examining the code of Pokémon GO. He has found new results: In addition to headgear and hats for Pikachu, he also discovered a sprite of Stantler wearing bells around its neck. Can we look forward to another winter event soon?
What the dataminer found
The dataminer Chrales discovered additional costumes for Pokémon. Normally, only Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu wear hats (Squirtle at Community Day is the exception here). However, Chrales also found a special Stantler.
What do the costumes look like? Sprites of Pichu and Pikachu have been found wearing winter hats. Additionally, there is a Pikachu that has floral decoration on its head. These headgear have already been discovered in the code for Raichu.
Stantler has now also been found in the code that looks particularly special. The Stantler wears a collar with bells. It appears to be a reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh. This would be fitting for Christmas, if that weren’t already over.
Will the costumes be released soon? Niantic has not yet made any statements regarding these costumes. They have only been found in the code and may not appear until next year.
What could the Pikachu hint at? The Pikachu with the winter hat could be used for an upcoming winter event. Niantic often releases a Pikachu with a special hat during events.
Such an event should happen soon, as winter is slowly coming to an end and a Pikachu with a wool hat won’t be fitting soon.
The Pikachu with the floral decoration would fit well into a spring event. One should keep in mind that Niantic might be planning such an event.
What could Stantler hint at? The special Stantler is causing a lot of confusion in the community. It would have been ideal for the Christmas event, but that is now over. It is hard to imagine this Pokémon with the costume being released outside of Christmas.
“McJawsh” writes on Reddit: “Oh, a bit late Niantic, isn’t it?” and receives a lot of support. One has to wait and see when Niantic will bring this version of Stantler into the game. Possibly only for the next Christmas event.
Many Pokémon from the 4th generation are also still missing. We show you the best:
The online shooter Overwatch hasn’t received any major changes for some time. The community expressed concern in the forums that the status of the game is deteriorating. A response from Jeff Kaplan himself now offers hope.
What happened? Some players have discussed in the US forums what is currently going on with Overwatch and what the game needs. Topics have been created titled: “Devs, do something! The game is dying” and discussions about needed new content for the test server have emerged.
In one of these threads, Overwatch lead Jeff Kaplan even responded personally and announced that a new patch and a “cool little surprise” are already in the works.
When will it all be released? According to Kaplan, the next PTR patch with changes and the surprise is expected to be released next week, on January 8, 2019.
Is Overwatch getting what it needs?
This is the criticism: Players are criticizing primarily that Overwatch simply isn’t fun anymore. The status of the game is poor. The members also reference videos by YouTubers who share their impressions.
Overwatch is not dead, but there are indeed some criticisms. Fans mention, among other things:
the events are always recycled
the meta isn’t changing
the report system isn’t working properly
User thatdudetony also points out that professionals no longer want to play the game, even though the second season of the Overwatch League hasn’t even started yet. Additionally, there is a lack of new content.
This is what Kaplan says: Kaplan reacted to the thread that addressed the lack of content. The thread itself was about how the next PTR patch needed to come soon, or it would interfere with the New Year’s event.
Kaplan responded that the next patch is expected to arrive next week and would bring balance changes as well as a surprise:
We have been working on a balance patch this week. We hope to bring the patch to the PTR next week. The last time I said that, we were late and everyone flipped out. So please don’t flip out if it doesn’t happen… that’s just how it goes.
Also, there is a cool little surprise coming next week. Exciting!
(Sorry, no details at this time, as changes are still ongoing… the PTR will get patch notes when it’s ready. No dev update.)
Is a new map coming to Overwatch?
This is what the community suspects: Kaplan’s post heated up the rumor mill about upcoming nerfs, buffs, and the surprise. Regarding the balance changes, there are mainly speculations for buffs of current meta counters like Junkrat and Reaper. However, larger reworks shouldn’t be expected.
The surprise is mostly thought by fans to be a new map.
Kaplan stated before Blizzcon 2018 that a new map is something special that shouldn’t be announced at a Blizzcon. Both the timing and the statement coincide with a new map. Only the wording of a “cool little surprise” bothers some users.
The second possibility that is frequently mentioned is the “Overwatch Replay Viewer”. This allows you to watch games afterwards from many angles and settings. According to a report by thebenchmob in December 2018, this feature is not yet ready for implementation.
What do you think? What will the surprise be and what will the patch bring?
Overwatch is making an effort to keep the game interesting continuously. But it’s hard:
