In Pokémon GO there is a new event! Players can look forward to Shiny Pidgey and Rattata. Additionally, there are some very special Pikachu and Eevee to catch.

This is what the new event brings: Tonight, on February 26th, a new event will start in Pokémon GO. To celebrate Pokémon Day, Niantic is also hosting a small celebration. Accordingly, there will be many Pokémon from the Kanto region to catch.

We will reveal all the bonuses of the event and show you images of the new Shinies that will be available to catch starting tonight.

This is how Pokémon Day is celebrated

How long does the event last? Starting tonight, February 26th, at 10 PM, the event will take place. It will only last for two days, until February 28th. The celebrations will end that day at 10 PM.

What bonuses are there? Some resource in the game is not doubled. However, you get:

• increased chance of Kanto region Pokémon in the wild
• increased chance of Kanto region Pokémon in raids
• the chance of Pikachu and Eevee with flower crowns on their heads
• the chance of Shiny Pidgey and Rattata

This is what we know about the Shinies: With Pidgey and Rattata, trainers now have the opportunity to catch two Shinies that are likely to be fairly common. These two Pokémon were probably the most found in the 1st generation.

It remains to be seen whether the Alolan form of Rattata also appears as Shiny. We will show you its Shiny form anyway.

This is what Eevee and Pikachu look like: Weeks ago, the versions of Pikachu and Eevee with flowers on their heads were found in the game’s code. Now they will finally be released.

Whether there will be a Shiny version of these forms remains to be seen. However, one could assume that since there were already Shiny Pikachu with special hats to catch.

This is why we celebrate: The Pokémon Day is celebrated annually on February 27th. On this day in 1996, the first Pokémon game for the console was released. Therefore, this day is also celebrated in Pokémon GO.

In Pokémon GO you can now catch Farbigeagle! We show you how to encounter the Pokémon and catch it.

Trainers had to wait a long time: Farbigeagle is a Pokémon of the 2nd generation. It was missing from players’ PokéDex for a long time, but now you can finally catch it. Recently, it was seen on the loading screen, which led to the assumption that it would be coming soon.

Farbigeagle is special to catch: This monster cannot simply be caught in the wild. You need the new feature “GO Snapshot”, which has recently become available.

We show you a guide on how to obtain the new Pokémon and share what we know about Farbigeagle so far.

How to catch Farbigeagle

Here’s the basics: Every player who wants to catch Farbigeagle must be at least level 5. From then on, the GO Snapshot feature is available. You need this for the catch.

Here’s what you need to do: To encounter Farbigeagle, you need to take numerous photos:

1. Open your Pokémon collection
2. Select any Pokémon
3. Click on the camera at the top right of the screen and start AR mode
4. Take photos!
5. Keep snapping pictures until Farbigeagle jumps into the frame (Pay close attention, as you can only spot it on the finished image, not in the camera view)
6. Once Farbigeagle jumps into the picture, you can close the camera
7. After that, Farbigeagle will appear next to your character on the map, and you can catch it like any other Pokémon in the wild
8. Put in the effort when catching, because Farbigeagle can flee like any other Pokémon

Farbigeagle doesn’t appear for me, what now? Many players report that Farbigeagle simply does not jump into their images. Persistence pays off. Keep taking photos.

How often do I get the chance for Farbigeagle? So far, trainers have reported that they only caught one Farbigeagle per day. Once midnight passes, you will likely have the chance for another Farbigeagle. We will update this article when that is confirmed.

My camera is not working, what now? Often, the photo feature does not work simply because you have denied the game access to the camera. You need to allow Pokémon GO access to your camera in your phone’s settings.

This is what we know about Farbigeagle’s attack: There has been much discussion about the attack Copycat that Farbigeagle uses. It simply copies the attack of the monster you photographed.

If Farbigeagle jumps into the screen while you are photographing your Tyranitar, it will use the same attacks as Tyranitar. So you should choose carefully which Pokémon you photograph to ensure Farbigeagle doesn’t get undesirable attacks.

These are the attacks it cannot learn: There are some exceptions when learning attacks. It cannot learn attacks like Catapult, Transformer, or Lake.

There’s a current bug: Niantic confirmed on Twitter that there is a bug with Farbigeagle’s attacks. It can still learn other attacks through TMs. This should be fixed in the next update. However, if you have already used TMs, the new attacks will remain.

The Pokémon GO is taken too seriously by some players, as evidenced by a Japanese trainer. He is accused of hitting a police officer just because he interrupted him while playing.

In the city of Matsuyama in the southern part of Japan, there was an attack on a police officer simply for speaking to a Pokémon GO player. The incident sounds quite exaggerated, yet it happened on February 23 of this year.

We tell you the whole story about the incident and reveal how this confrontation came to be.

Why the player attacked the police officer

This was the trigger: The police were called because a group of about 50 people were blocking the sidewalk on a street. The police were supposed to come and make space so that pedestrians could use the path.

When the police arrived, they only encountered two players who were still on site. When the policemen asked the trainers to leave the area, one of the players followed the instructions. The second player, however, became angry and apparently prepared to strike.

Here’s why the player struck: According to the police, the player yelled: “Because of you, I couldn’t catch it!”

Apparently, the players gathered for a raid on the sidewalk, and when the police arrived, most trainers had already caught the Pokémon. The assailant then blamed the police for not being able to catch the Pokémon because of them.

This is what the player says: The player insists that he did not raise his hand and claims to be innocent. It remains to be seen how the case will ultimately unfold.

This is what other players say: The reactions from other trainers are overwhelmingly negative. They have no understanding that someone would use violence simply because they couldn’t catch a Pokémon.

“Decent trainers blame themselves for not catching Pokémon,” someone wrote regarding the incident.
