The Carniball in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team is entering its final round. Today, on March 15th, the event moves to Germany. Now you can snag top cards of Rüdiger and Matthäus.
These are the last new Carniball cards: From March 8th to March 15th, the Carniball event is taking place in FUT 19. Every day, this event stopped in a different country known for its carnival, like Brazil or Italy.
Today, on the last event day, Germany is up. You can now obtain these cards through Squad-Building Challenges:
The German national player receives his first special card in FUT 19 during the Carniball.
This is his standard card:
His Carniball card has an overall rating of 87, which is 6 points higher than the standard card.
The Chelsea center-back receives significant stat boosts, especially in
Pace (73 –> 79)
Passing (67 –> 74)
Defending (81 –> 87)
and Physical (77 –> 83)
The new card of Rüdiger can definitely strengthen many Premier League teams or German teams.
This is how you get the new card: You need to complete a Squad-Building Challenge group. You have one week to do this. The Carniball card is untradeable.
Submit a team consisting of 11 players, including one from Germany, a TOTW card, with a team overall rating of at least 84 and a team chemistry of at least 81.
Submit a team consisting of 11 players, including a TOTW player, with a minimum team overall rating of 83 and a team chemistry of at least 80.
In Anthem there is a new hotfix that increases the drop rates of loot.
This is the background on loot: Especially in the endgame of Anthem, players complain that valuable loot is too rare. The drop rates of masterwork and legendary items were in a bad ratio to the grind required.
Reports from players indicate that some have already spent over 150 hours in the game and have never seen a legendary item. Legendary (yellow) items are the most valuable in the game.
The drop rates and distribution of item stats are causing headaches for the developers.
What Anthem changed about drop rates
What does the hotfix change?
The drop rates for masterwork and legendary items have been increased in Grandmaster 2 and Grandmaster 3. Grandmaster is one of the difficulty levels in Anthem.
The drop rates for masterwork and legendary items have been increased for tougher enemies at all difficulty levels. This includes: Legendary Titans, Epic Titans, Legendary Fury, Legendary Acid Ursix, and Legendary Illuminated Elders.
These adjustments apply to all activities in Anthem, including Strongholds.
Do I need to download a patch? No. The update is server-side.
When will the update come? The adjustments have already taken place. The drop rates should already be increased.
Are there exact numbers for the hotfix? No. BioWare has not stated how much the drop rates increase in percentage.
Difficult bosses like legendary Titans now have a higher drop rate of legendary and masterwork items.
This is how players are reacting: Shortly after the patch notes were released, players are thanking the team. They are happy that BioWare is addressing the complaints about the drop rates.
However, players wanted the exact numbers for the drop rates. That would have been more transparent and would demonstrate whether the changes are significant.
This is BioWare’s response: The Community Manager addresses the question about the exact numbers. According to Johnson, he could not share statistics with the community. The adjustment of the drop rates is said to be significant.
Johnson also points out that item drops are still random. It can therefore differ from player to player how much loot they ultimately get.
In the future, there will be even more adjustments to the loot of Anthem and feedback will be processed.
Will the hotfix improve the loot situation? For weeks, players have criticized that hunting for loot felt frustrating.
Valuable items simply appeared too rarely. This problem could actually be addressed by the hotfix. It also has the effect that it becomes more attractive to play at the highest difficulty levels, Grandmaster 2 and 3.
However, a new problem with loot in Anthem has emerged after the last patch. This will also not be fixed by the hotfix:
In The Division 2, there is currently a bug that hinders the use of certain skills. Some skills can only be used for a short period of time.
What does this bug do? This bug affects your skills. When you want to use some skills that last for a longer period, they are simply canceled after a short time.
So far, not much is known about this error. Apparently, not all players are affected, and even among those affected, the bug does not occur with every skill use.
What we know about the bug with skills
This is what the bug looks like: On Reddit, players report that they have problems when using certain skills, such as the shield. They use the shield, but right after, the skill is canceled.
Only after a cooldown period of 15 seconds can the skill be used again.
This bug is particularly annoying with the shield, as you typically want to run offensively towards the enemies and leave cover. If the shield suddenly disappears, you’re left in a difficult situation.
These are the skills available in The Division 2. Some of them are bugged.
This is how it should work: The affected skills usually last for a longer time. When the skill is then “used up”, it needs some time to cooldown before it is ready for use again.
In contrast, skills like the Drone or the Shield are often affected. These are abilities that last for a longer time.
The Drone is also affected by the bug
Are there solutions? So far, it is not known how to work around this bug. Some players suspect that mods during the cooldown period may be responsible for it. However, this has not been confirmed.
There have already been numerous bug fixes from Massive, such as in the Update 1.03. When this skill issue will be resolved remains to be seen.
Have you been affected by this bug yet?
The first reviews of The Division 2 are in. Here’s what critics say:
What is already known about this: The bug is not related to specific equipment or characters. It occurs universally and cannot be permanently fixed by the players.
These skills are not affected: Some skills are currently not affected by the bug. This is because they are used only once and are immediately consumed – they are not active for longer periods. These include:
Pulse
Chemical Launcher
Firefly
In contrast, skills like the Drone or the Shield are often affected. These are abilities that last for a longer time.
The Drone is also affected by the bug

The space game No Man’s Sky will soon receive a major update called Beyond. This is supposed to include more online features. However, the developers do not want to call the game an MMO.
What is No Man’s Sky? No Man’s Sky is a space game in which you explore a huge galaxy full of bizarre worlds and creatures. These have been procedurally generated, resulting in over 18 trillion worlds. However, promised features that were missing at launch, including multiplayer functions, left the game in a poor state.
What will change in Beyond? The next major update, Beyond, aims to address this. It is supposed to bring three significant innovations. While two of them are still under wraps, the developers have announced that there will be additional large multiplayer features.
The developers promise in a press release “new interactions and radical new ways to explore the universe.”
Multiplayer but not an MMO?
Why No Man’s Sky is not an MMO according to the developers: The announcements from the developers sound like a typical MMO, where you are exploring the universe together with many other players.
However, lead developer Sean Murray stated to Polygon that No Man’s Sky is not an MMO. It does not have a subscription, no microtransactions, and is free for all players who already own the game.

This is how players are reacting: Many players find Murray’s definition of an MMO as a game with a subscription and/or cash shop somewhat strange. However, they are generally looking forward to the new multiplayer features. No Man’s Sky is gradually becoming the game players wished for back then, and that is a good thing.
Beyond will be released in summer 2019 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

In The Division 2, the servers are down on March 14th and 15th. Massive is fixing initial issues, including a loot exploit. All info on the server status and update 1.03.
Update March 15th – 4:35 PM: Massive will perform a server restart in 30 minutes. This means that around 5 PM the servers will be down today, March 15th. Expected to be only for 5 minutes. Then you can continue playing. If you try to log in during the server restart, you will receive the error code Mike-01.
Update 10:30 PM: Massive has discovered an issue with the patch. The maintenance will be repeated in the near future.
Update 10:15 PM: Today, at 10:30 PM, the servers will go down again. Expected for 20 minutes. This means from 10:50 PM you should be able to play again.
Three issues are being fixed:
Players could get stuck at the wrong world tier when they completed strongholds in a group without having the required gear score.
Players could not speak with Agent Kelso in the Castle settlement.
Players could receive multiple Ivory Keys from the same source.
These issues will be fixed during the server restart tonight.
Massive is performing maintenance on The Division 2 today, accompanied by several hours of server downtime.
When are the servers down? Here are the crucial times:
The servers go offline at 9 AM. You can no longer log in. If you are still in the game, you will be kicked out.
The servers come back online around 12 PM. However, this is only an estimated time that may vary.
During the maintenance, update 1.03 will be made available. It is 584 MB in size.
Update: 11:33 AM – several users report that the servers are back online. I was able to log in just now (PS4).
According to Massive, maintenance will now be performed every Thursday to maintain the server infrastructure and fix issues. However, the times may vary.
Massive fixes initial issues – Patch Notes
What changes today? Here are the most important changes:
A bug in the Castle settlement is being fixed, where players got stuck in the settlement progress. In The Division 2, there are several settlements. You first discover the Theater settlement, and later the Castle settlement is added. The bug occurred in the latter.
A loot exploit is being fixed. We did not report on this exploit – however, it is positive that Massive can react quickly. According to user reports, the exploit is reminiscent of the Bullet King exploit from The Division 1.
Additionally, the update log mentions improvements to sound issues in cinematics.
Meanwhile, the full patch notes have been released. You can find them in the link. Several other minor bug fixes have also been made.
This is what Massive has planned for future patches: In the near future, more issues will be addressed, including:
A weapon skin bug. When selling a weapon that has a skin, it may happen that the weapon skin is also lost. If such a skin that you purchased with money goes missing, you should contact Ubi support. A fix is in the works.
In the endgame, there is a progress issue at world tiers 3 and 4. It is advised to avoid playing strongholds that move you to the next world tier with other players who are on different world tiers. A permanent fix is in progress.
Currently, Massive is focusing with the highest priority on the “health” of the game, so that the experience is as good as possible for everyone. Only after that will new content be unlocked.
A player investigated the current patch 1.0.3 in Anthem and made a strange discovery: You can go completely naked as long as you are wearing a legendary item.
This is the situation in Anthem: Last Saturday, Anthem rolled out patch 1.0.3. Part of the patch was fixing a loot issue.
After investing hours into the old build, which has now become completely useless, the Ranger fan wanted to find out what was wrong with his epic build after the patch.
This is what the player has now found out: The player says he researched for three days and three sleepless nights.
His conclusion: “Inscriptions” in Anthem are currently almost irrelevant. The only thing that truly matters is the average “power level” of the gear.
The low power level 30 has a damage multiplier of 7.4
The highest power level 75 has a damage multiplier of 22.6
The most important thing is to have a high power level on the gear.
The problem: The game calculates the power level as an average from the gear in each slot. However, if you wear level-1 gear in a slot, then that slot does not count towards the calculation of the average level.
Therefore, you can reach power level 75 and thus maximum damage if you only wear a legendary item and leave the rest empty.
Because there are not legendary items for every slot.
A well-equipped Ranger – Source: Reddit
This is what a top Ranger would look like: A Ranger with top items has a power level of 718, but this gets rounded down to 65 – because some slots do not have legendary items.
This Ranger has an average power level of 65 – so far below the maximum of 75.
On the other hand, if one only carries a weapon with power level 75 and leaves the rest empty, they deal maximum damage with certain abilities.
Create a new Ranger, use one item (as long as it’s legendary), and there will be massive damage – Source: Reddit
This also explains why players become more powerful when they remove a support item.
This is what other players say: Some others have confirmed the player’s results and removed everything except legendary items and then realized that they were indeed dealing more damage.
BioWare is already working on a solution
This is the problem: The alarming thing is that with this insight, the “builds” of the players actually play almost no role anymore for maximum damage. The property “Max Damage (referring to the Javelin)” should be preferred here.
However, creating builds and collecting items for those builds is an important allure of a game like Anthem.
In FIFA 19 Ultimate Team, there’s the Draft mode. Here you’ll find everything you need to know about the Draft rewards online and in single-player mode of FUT 19.
Update: If you’re looking for the Draft rewards in FIFA 20 FUT, you can find them here:
Offline and Online Draft: In FUT 19, there are two different Draft modes:
Online Draft
Single Player Draft
Participation in Draft costs: You can find the modes in the FUT menu under “Single Player” or “Online.” For each participation, you need to pay either 15,000 coins or 300 FIFA Points. If you have a Draft Token, you can also start a Draft with that.
While participation in the game is quite expensive, you can win great prizes, namely coins and packs, with just a few games.
Whether the Draft mode is worth it, we have summarized for you here:
The Online Draft mode has better rewards than the Offline Draft mode.
The Single Player rewards are not dependent on the difficulty level. It only affects how many coins you receive at the end of the matches.
Rewards in Online Draft
The rewards are not the same every time. They vary randomly. When you achieve three wins the first time and again three wins the second time, you may receive different rewards. The fifauteam page has compiled these rewards so far, of which not all have been confirmed.
This is how Draft works: You build a team by choosing one player out of five random players for each position. You should maintain the balance between player quality and team chemistry.
You do not play with your “regular” team, but with a new team that you create specifically for a Draft participation. Upon re-participation, you must create a new team. Once the participation is over, you no longer have access to the Draft team created.
Now play up to four games with this Draft team. The more wins you achieve, the better the rewards.
If you receive rewards that are not on this list, please write them in the comments.
If several enemies come rushing at you from one direction, it can greet them with flames and hold them back. You can also use it to cover the area behind you, which can be helpful against hostile melee fighters.
The chem launcher is a new skill in The Division 2. Its mods offer a wide range of applications.
Here are the skill mods for the chem launcher:
Amplifier: With this mod, you can release a gas cloud that repairs and enhances the armor of your group members.
Firestarter: The firestarter releases an explosive gas cloud that ignites with any shots and explosions.
Combat Foam: Fires a foam charge that hardens upon contact and temporarily incapacitates enemies.
Oxidizer: Shoots a cloud of corrosive gas that temporarily damages hostile armor, skills, and health.
For beginners, the amplifier and oxidizer are the best options. Both have in common a relatively low cooldown, especially compared to other skills.
Here’s why the amplifier is good for beginners: With it, you can either repair your own armor or that of your group members. This is particularly helpful at the start, as you can fire the launcher from a safe position.
Veterans might remember the first aid skill from The Division 1, which was probably the most used skill. However, the amplifier is not quite as strong. For this, it has 3 charges that you can allocate.
Here’s why the oxidizer is good for beginners: With the oxidizer, you can take out easy enemies and draw tougher foes out of cover effectively. Although it only has one charge, it reloads quickly and can be used frequently.
The oxidizer works best in combination with another healing skill.
It can also provide support for your team, as you can target it on team members.
The Turret
Many veterans may remember the turret from the predecessor. In principle, not much has changed in its functionality; only a few new mods have been added.
Here are the skill mods for the turret:
Assault: The turret automatically tracks and attacks hostile targets. However, you can also mark an enemy for it to target.
Incinerator: The turret functions as a type of flamethrower that incinerates enemies within a certain radius. Unlike the flamethrower of the predecessor, it can only shoot flames forward; it no longer has a 360° radius.
Sniper: With this mod, you can manually fire strong single projectiles at enemies.
For beginners, the assault and incinerator turrets are best suited.
Here’s why the assault turret is so good for beginners: The assault turret is, like the striker drone, particularly good for distracting enemies while also dealing damage.
If individual enemies are giving you trouble, they can be targeted and attacked specifically. Additionally, you can position it to lure enemies out from behind their cover.
Here’s why the incinerator turret is good for beginners: The incinerator turret is also excellent for creating distractions. The biggest advantage is that it can control larger groups of enemies and deal significant damage with fire.
If several enemies come rushing at you from one direction, it can greet them with flames and hold them back. You can also use it to cover the area behind you, which can be helpful against hostile melee fighters.

How do I unlock the skills? Basically, you can unlock your abilities in your operations base, the White House, for that you need skill points.
You receive these by completing the main missions. To equip 2 skills, you must also redeem a corresponding perk for SHD tech with the quartermaster.
SHD tech can be found in containers scattered throughout the game world. Additionally, you also earn SHD as a reward for main and side missions.

The Chem Launcher

What other skills are available in The Division 2, what situations they are suitable for, and what else you should know is explained in our guide:
In The Division 2 has numerous skills, all of which differ in their functionality. Here are 3 of the best skills that are great for starting out.
The Division 2 provides you with a total of 8 abilities. However, you can’t draw from all of them at the start, as you must gradually unlock the skills with skill points.
You need to decide early on which skills you want to start your agent life in The Division 2.
Three of these skills are particularly good for beginners. If you can’t decide on any skills, then choose two from the following.
The Drone
The drone is probably one of the most practical and versatile skills in The Division 2. With its various mods, it is suitable for different situations, both offensively and defensively.
Here are the skill mods for the drone:
Striker: The drone tracks hostile NPCs and attacks anything in sight. You can also manually target it at an enemy.
Defender: With the defender mod, the drone deflects incoming shots using sound.
Bomber: You can mark two points between which the drone drops multiple mini-bombs.
Repair: The repair drone follows you and continuously repairs your equipment. You can also target it on your teammates to repair their armor.
At the start, you should either resort to the striker drone or the repair drone.
Here’s why the striker drone is good for beginners: It constantly circles around your enemies and deals damage. It serves as support and also distracts your foes.
If an enemy is particularly bothering you, you can quickly mark them for your drone.
Here’s why the repair drone is good for beginners: This drone is ideal for keeping you secure. If you run out of armor kits, it can keep you alive temporarily.
This way, you can take several hits without problems. Just stay in cover when your armor is destroyed, the drone will restore it.
SHD tech can be found in containers scattered throughout the game world. Additionally, you also earn SHD as a reward for main and side missions.

Data from Destiny 2 has revealed a listing that may shed more light on the remaining exotic quest of Season 6.
What was found? The well-known Destiny expert and YouTuber Houndish recently discussed an exciting detail found in the Destiny 2 database in a video.
This detail is related to the remaining exotic quest that is supposed to become available to all Guardians during the course of Season 6. The forthcoming new spring event “The Gluttony” is also said to be connected to it.
What does this description entail? Specifically, it concerns the final description of a previously unknown quest. It states: “There are rumors in the Tower that you may have sneaked into a locked Cryptarch vault in the ruins of the old Tower. The Wanderer is impressed. He asks you to think of him should you ever return there.”
Source: Houndish on YouTube
The YouTuber now considers it possible and even likely that Guardians may soon venture into this vault in the old Tower. After all, it is an official description of a quest step.
How does this all connect? Currently, it’s only speculation. However, Houndish discovered among other things numerous interesting parallels to the Thunderlord quest that this new entry brings in connection with upcoming content.
He then shared his findings with the community in the video.
So far, this description has not been used for any quest – neither in older content nor in the current content of Season 6. Furthermore, the entry was only found now.
The only known quest that is still pending is the exotic quest as part of the free seasonal update. So it makes sense that this quest entry could be about the pending exotic quest.
Houndish assumes that this exotic could be introduced as part of the spring event “The Gluttony.” Because the Thunderlord, the free exotic of the past season, was introduced during a comparable event at the Festival of the Lost.
Additionally, the Thunderlord quest once led Guardians to the Cosmodrome, another well-known location like the now destroyed Tower. This aspect would also align.
Furthermore, the description of the upcoming spring event in English uses a similar wording as the message regarding the old Tower, which could be another hint that these entries are connected.
Source: Houndish on YouTube
It is quite conceivable that we will hunt the new exotic in a familiar area of the game. Considering the parallels shown, it also seems plausible that the exotic quest could be introduced during the upcoming seasonal event.
In Crowfall, it is primarily about playing campaigns and defeating other players. In the March update, the developers focused on this and brought a revamp of the adventure zones and leaderboards.
What are the campaigns? The world of Crowfall consists of two major contents: The Eternal Kingdom and the campaigns.
Campaigns are time-limited, randomly generated worlds where you can gather materials that will help in expanding the Eternal Kingdom. They are meant to feel like a season of Game of Thrones.
While a campaign is ongoing, the Hunger spreads, eventually consuming the world. However, players can fight for this world and win the campaign as a guild.
What’s new in the campaigns? The March update emphasized that there are indeed winners in the campaigns. For this, rankings were introduced.
In these rankings, one can see the exact placement of their guild, but also what contribution they made as individual players.
The points system has also been adjusted. The longer a campaign runs, the more points the guilds earn for conquering outposts. This is meant to increase the tension, especially towards the end of a campaign.
Major overhaul of the worlds
The March update also brought a revamp of the worlds within a campaign.
Division of the individual zones: A campaign consists of 10 worlds. They are divided as follows:
3 maps consist of temples of the respective factions
1 map is a free city in the center
6 maps consist of adventure zones and siege maps
The last six maps are the most exciting, as guilds can fight for them to seize the throne and win the campaign.
New, dynamic maps: The maps in the game have also been adjusted so they now directly indicate who owns an outpost, how many points it grants, and when it can be attacked again.
When will Crowfall finally be released?
Still an Alpha: Crowfall is currently in the final stage of Alpha Patch 5.8 and with Alpha Patch 6.0 the last important features are expected to be introduced into the game.
Fortnite: Battle Royale is known for constantly adding wild innovations to the game. However, what many casual players find super is a huge annoyance for professionals. The latest hassle seems to be the “Kugler”.
How is the Kugler received? Unlike the overpowered airplane from Season 7, the Kugler is well received by many players. Especially casual players love the Kugler and make a lot of fun with it. For them, the Kugler embodies fun and is a reason why they love Fortnite.
On the other hand, there are players who cannot relate to such fun items like the Kugler. Recently, pro gamer Poach from Team Liquid has loudly expressed his displeasure about the Kugler:
With the Kugler, it seems to be similar: players roll relatively unattackable around and only in the endgame do they build massive fortifications and actively participate in the game. Items like the plane or Kugler make the game boring.
This is what casuals want: Casual players usually want a maximum of fun. Whether they win or have good stats is rather secondary. It’s more about having a good time.
Scenes like a plane crashing through buildings or a hamster ball sailing through the air are ideal. You laugh and have fun.
This is what professionals want: Pro gamers earn money with Fortnite and take it professionally. They care about effectiveness and reliability. A game that changes constantly and then also brings silly fun items that ruin game balance is a horror for them.
Moreover, Epic is notorious for introducing such innovations without warning shortly before major tournaments. Just imagine if suddenly 15 players per team were allowed in the next Champions League football match and the ball was twice the size.
Pro gamers like Tfue earn money with Fortnite. They do not play (exclusively) for fun.
This is the dilemma: The majority of players in Fortnite are casuals, yet the professionals are the face of the game as streamers and influencers. Therefore, Epic needs to find some kind of compromise, but currently the balance seems to tilt in favor of the casuals. There are funny items like cannons and hamster balls. Hence, some professionals are upset.
These are possible solutions: On Reddit, a post with 4,500 upvotes is actively discussing how to reconcile the interests of casual gamers and professionals.
Some games, including LoL, use the previous patch version for tournaments, not the current client. This way, they have a refined game and are not surprised by intended bugs and new items. Especially at the tournament in Katowice, where many bugs from the new version struck, this approach could have avoided a lot of trouble.
Season 8 seems to focus more on fun.
Other proposals want to have two different games: a wacky Fortnite filled with random fun stuff and one that remains largely unchanged and is specifically tailored for exciting tournaments.
And again, other players would be satisfied if Epic would let the most important pros and influencers take part in the development or at least allow them to test new patches in advance.
These are the counterpoints: On the other hand, it speaks against that Epic hardly wants to develop two separate games. And that the viewers certainly want to play the game they see in the tournaments, not a completely different one.
Some players also have no understanding for the “whining” of Poach and co. The hamster ball is much more harmless than the airplane, which had more health and a turret. The hamster ball, on the other hand, is just a fragile little thing with a grappling hook. He should just stop acting up!
What is your opinion on the discussion? Should Fortnite be tailored more for the pros or the casuals?
The most important gaming influencer on Twitter in Germany is Etienne Gardé from the livestream channel Rocket Beans TV. He has now sparked a shitstorm with a tweet.
Who is Germany’s most important influencer on Twitter? According to the website Gameswirtschaft, Etienne Gardé was the most important gaming influencer on German Twitter in 2018.
This refers to a report from an agency that analyzed 800 million tweets in August and October 2018.
Gardé manages to have his 243,000 followers regularly retweet, mention him, and respond to his tweets. Thus, Gardé is number one in his field on Twitter ahead of other German gaming celebrities such as:
Fatih Dayik (CS:GO professional)
Erik Range (YouTuber Gronkh)
Dominik Neumeyer (domtendo, known for Nintendo Let’s Plays)
Simon Krätschmer and Nils Bomhoff (both Rocket Beans).
Etienne Gardé is known to many gamers from his work at GIGA as a television host. Later he was an editor at GameOne.
For several years Gardé has been one of the heads behind the YouTube and Twitch channel Rocket Beans TV.
Greta Thunberg is a 16-year-old student who is seen as the face of the German school strikes for climate.
Michael Jackson was a pop star accused of having sex with children.
This is what the shitstorm was about: Gardé had anticipated a furious reaction to his tweet, and it came promptly.
The tweet triggered, as expected, some angry counter-tweets on Twitter. Some found it tasteless that Gardé put the environmental activist in the same category as the alleged pedophile, Michael Jackson.
For many, jokes about child sex are taboo anyway. The fact that Gardé makes fun of environmental activists only adds to it. For some, this shows Gardé’s political, “right-wing” mindset.
The conflicts around Gamergate seem to still resonate and boil over whenever the opportunity arises.
The action made such waves that in the English Gamergate Reddit “Kotaku in Action” asked what was going on, why so many Germans suddenly use #Gamergate.
One user saw a shitstorm coming towards gamers and wanted Gardé to distance himself from it to prevent damage.

The Hall of Fame in World of Warcraft for the new raid Battle of Dazar’alor is full, at least for the Horde. The Alliance, on the other hand, still has plenty of space. This allows for some conclusions to be drawn.
This speaks for the Horde: In World of Warcraft, guilds have been able to secure places in the Hall of Fame for some time. To do this, they must be among the top 100 of their faction to defeat the final boss of the current raid on mythic level.
The Horde Hall of Fame for the Battle of Dazar’alor has been closed since Wednesday, March 13th. This means that 100 Horde guilds have killed Jaina in mythic mode. The best German guild Aversion is in 11th place, by the way.
At the time of this article (March 15), only 21 guilds from the Alliance are represented in the Hall of Fame. So there is still plenty of space.
This shows that the Horde is significantly stronger in the “raiding” area: Far more Horde teams are successfully raiding on mythic than on the Alliance side.
The Horde Hall of Fame.
Why is the Horde so strong? Since WoW Classic, there have been complaints from players about a “Horde bias” from Blizzard, meaning preferential treatment for the faction.
This is mainly due to the racial abilities of the Horde races being stronger and providing an advantage in many situations.
These rather small seeming advantages make the Horde appear more attractive to professional raiders and progress players. In this area, every little advantage that the Horde clearly offers counts.
There is no official confirmation on this. However, for many fans, the racial abilities and also the Halls of Fame look like Blizzard clearly favors the Horde.
Particularly the “racials” of the new Zandalari trolls are seen as strong.
Horde raids stronger: A bigger problem
How does the imbalance affect WoW? The fact that the Alliance Hall of Fame is not yet full means that Alliance guilds can still secure a spot and a title.
However, this is a disadvantage for both factions, as “cross-realm” for Mythic is only active once both Halls of Fame are full. Mythic raids can only be overcome by groups of players from the same realm.
Additionally, there is a kind of “snowball” effect. Since most and strongest raids belong to the Horde, many PvE-interested players directly choose the Horde as their faction. This reinforces the effect of “too much Horde” in the raids.
The fact that the Horde is so much stronger makes it harder for casual players and players on smaller servers to find a raid in mythic mode. They are still dependent on groups on their own realm, which must also be willing to take them in and have space for them, as mythic raids are limited to 20 players.
It is not that no MMORPGs are being released anymore. And there are plenty of online role-playing games that are already playable. But why are many still waiting for “even more”? Why does hardly any MMORPG feel “right”?
Why do MMORPGs not feel “right”? That’s the big question. What is “right”? This is probably defined differently by every player, depending on how they experienced their first MMORPG or their favorite online role-playing game. Nostalgia always plays a role. The rose-colored glasses often deliver a distorted view of the truth.
Those who played Everquest as their first MMORPG want to experience that gameplay feeling in modern online role-playing games.
If one played Ultima Online for the first time, it was new, exciting, interesting, and thrilling. There was nothing like it before. The same goes for World of Warcraft, as Blizzard’s MMORPG was also new for many, because they had not dealt with the genre before and were attracted by the accessibility, but stayed for the fun and the scope.
This feeling still exists today: One only has to look at battle royale shooters. PUBG, for example, felt new and exciting. But will it still feel that way in ten years when the umpteenth BR shooter has been released?
What feels “right” is always subjective and depends on the experiences, desires, and expectations of the players.
Nostalgia can be deceptive
Why what was good in the past may not be good today: The beginnings of the MMORPG genre can be found in MUDs, the multi-user dungeons. These emerged in the late 1970s and allowed players to experience text adventures together. For those who played these MUDs, it was a fantastic experience, and later titles could not recreate that feeling. Because it was new and interesting back then.
There were no graphics, but everything took place in the imagination. And the imagination simply creates the most wonderful worlds, which often stay in mind much longer than the best graphics. Does this mean that MUDs were better than modern MMORPGs? Those who grew up with MUDs certainly long for that feeling from back then.
This does not mean that one would want to play text adventures again. The online game should be modern. But it needs to feel “right.” Just like back then. And that is not possible. Because that feeling back then was unique.
MUDs represent the beginning of the MMORPG genre.
That’s why one should embrace something new: Perhaps it’s not so good to search for what one describes as “the right” gaming experience. Because nostalgia always resonates here.
We should let go of what MMORPGs used to be and what feelings they evoked in us, because the genre has evolved over decades. And one has changed too. Life circumstances are different, and one may not play like one used to.
Perhaps we should approach every game fresh, without comparing it to how we felt during our first online role-playing game. Because that way we deny ourselves a new experience. And perhaps it is this new experience that can grow on us just as well.
Yes, MMORPGs have changed. Many mechanics are different, games are aimed at a new target audience… But does that have to be a bad thing? One shouldn’t stay forever in their comfort zone and only want what was so nice before. We need to be open to new experiences, even if that might be difficult. Because otherwise, we might miss something we could enjoy.
Maybe we will like it in a different way than our favorite MMORPG from before, but that can be just as beautiful an experience to which we can fondly look back in a few years.
The search for the “perfect” MMORPG
Is it time to stop searching for the “perfect” MMORPG? There are so many MMORPGs on the market and new ones are always being announced. These games are designed to be played for the long term, yet we are always looking for something new. Because we want to experience the “right” feeling.
Astellia is a new MMORPG that is already being viewed skeptically before its release. Can it create the “right” gaming feeling?
But if we cling too much to the past, we will probably never experience that feeling again. Therefore, we should engage with the games we have and try to open ourselves to new experiences.
This does not mean that we should settle for everything. If we do not like an MMORPG, we will of course look for another. And of course, we keep an eye on announced titles, because they may also be interesting.
We should just give the games a fair chance. And it is only fair if we let the past rest and approach modern and new gaming experiences fresh and openly. Then we will find the “right” feeling again, which can be unique for every MMORPG.

The Division 2 has officially launched and the first reviews are already being worked on. Find out here what fans and critics think of the battle for Washington D.C.
This is how the current mood around The Division 2 looks: Now that The Division 2 has finally launched for all players, the picture so far is almost universally positive.
The press is mostly in agreement so far, awarding the Division series a worthy and successful successor overall. However, there are currently no Metascore or final ratings available.
That’s why there are still no final ratings for Division 2: The press is currently busy working on reviews for The Division 2. But anyone looking for a final verdict or a scoring number will (still) be disappointed.
The game only reveals its full potential after completing the campaign, where the key aspects of a successful looter-shooter come into play. Consequently, many aspects such as Loot, Endgame or long-term motivation need to be evaluated, which only gradually emerge. Therefore, almost all reviews at the moment are still “Work in Progress”.
This is what the press has said so far about The Division 2: We have taken a closer look at numerous reviews from the international press and provide you with a compact overview of what the first voices are saying – even though there are still no final ratings.
GameSpot – “Encouraging”
The US site GameSpot has summarized its impressions in a detailed preview review. You can read it here: The Division 2 GameSpot Review
It states that The Division 2 might overwhelm players a bit with its many features and possibilities at the beginning – even for those who played the first part. But once you get the hang of it, it really draws players in.
The title is said to be very promising. The game world is particularly fantastic and very alive. The progression feels good, and the combat scenarios, weapons, numerous enemies, and skills remain interesting and engaging throughout the playthrough. Everywhere you look, you see the many little details that the developers have put into The Division 2 – even in the smallest things.
GamesRadar – “I already enjoy Division 2 more than Anthem”
The site GamesRadar has also tested The Division 2. You can read their complete impressions here: The Division 2 GamesRadar Review
They highlight that The Division 2 excellently manages to hide the grind aspect of the game behind engaging and convincing gameplay.
You make constant progress, the gameplay is smooth, the world is captivating, and there is a lot to do, resulting in numerous “Just 5 more minutes” moments. Additionally, the effects of your heroic deeds in the game feel tangible.
Moreover, the developers at Massive prove with The Division 2 that years of “polishing” the predecessor and learned lessons from other games in this genre pay off in the end – even in comparison to the direct competitor Anthem.
PC Gamer – “A game packed with looting and shooting that makes a great first impression”
On the site PC Gamer, The Division 2 also makes a great impression. You can find the full review here: The Division 2 PC Gamer Review
The game impresses in many aspects and improves on the predecessor in many ways. Story, side missions, rewards, progression, the world, the atmosphere – all of this and more are much stronger now than in the first part.
The Division 2 is a large game that will potentially grow even larger over the course of the first year with numerous free updates. It feels now like a completed successor to The Division, from a team that has consistently learned a lot about its target audience during development.
The Division 2 could be the right looter-shooter at just the right time.
IGN – “My overall impression is still positive”
IGN has already played The Division 2 with early access since March 11 and has been consistently gathering impressions since then. You can find out what they are like here: The Division 2 IGN Review
By now, they are almost at the endgame and have found that The Division 2 becomes increasingly entertaining as progress continues. The game is already better than its predecessor in numerous areas – especially in places where The Division 1 sometimes faltered.
The gunplay is more engaging, the enemies and their mechanics are more varied, the loot is more generous and interesting, and the world is simply breathtakingly executed. Additionally, the feeling of progress is surprisingly well implemented.
Currently, The Division 2 feels very good, and the impressions so far are mostly positive. However, there is still uncertainty about how it will perform in the endgame.
Windows Central – “A polished and addictive shooter”
Ubisoft and Massive have clearly implemented feedback from the predecessor with The Division 2 and created an almost perfect successor that captivates players from the start.
While they haven’t revolutionized the gameplay of the predecessor, they have consistently advanced it in exactly the right places. As a result, the game simply feels better in almost every aspect compared to The Division 1 based on what has been evaluated so far.
But as convincing as The Division 2 may be so far, the true test for the game is, according to the author, still ahead – namely in the form of the endgame after completing the story. One hopes that Massive has also learned from its mistakes here.
Destructoid – “Your time doesn’t feel wasted”
The colleagues at Destructoid also find that The Division 2 makes a solid impression so far. You can read their current review here: The Division 2 Destructoid Review
Even though they still haven’t quite nailed the character creation, they have otherwise managed everything else solidly.
The Division 2 offers polished looter-shooter mechanics from the start and a lot of variety in gameplay. This time, it looks like they have finally created a Division game that is also worth it in the long run.
The best part is that none of your time feels wasted. Missions don’t feel like filler for leveling and are varied, the battles are engaging, the enemies are better, and the different skills play a more significant role.
The Division 2 is a polished shooter that does a lot right. Currently, it doesn’t look like this title, unlike its predecessor, will need a bigger update to save the game.
This is what players say about The Division 2
In addition to the press, many players have already formed their own opinions and actively share them in forums and Reddit.
This is the mood among fans: A popular Thread by Redditor bearlover23 on this topic summarizes the mood of the fans well and exemplarily.
This user expressed their thoughts in an extensive post after almost 30 hours of gameplay and received a lot of agreement and confirmation from other players. It is stated there, among other things, “This is the new standard. This is why I am here (in The Division 2) and how I wish for other games in this genre.”
On Metacritic, The Division 2 currently has a user score of
the vast scope, there is a lot to do – and almost at every corner
the successful, vibrant game world
the dense atmosphere and immersion
great graphics (on PC with appropriate hardware)
the story as well as the mission design of the main and side missions
the loot
many improvements and consistent developments from the predecessor
the extensive options for build creation
the enemy AI. Enemies don’t just stand around, but act tactically and noticeably differently depending on type and faction
However, criticisms include
mainly bugs
as well as some technical problems
some mechanics of the game, such as sometimes too extreme cooldown times for skills or weapon mods. These now bring disadvantages for the damage output of weapons alongside benefits for handling resulting in many currently completely avoiding these mods
a silent protagonist. Your character does not speak, which bothers some fans
As soon as the press provides concrete ratings expressed in numbers, we will give an overview of this.
The release of Lost Ark in Russia is slowly approaching. Our author Irie has decided to take a closer look at the MMORPG as soon as it becomes available in Russia.
For me, the announcement of the Open Beta of Lost Ark in Russia was a really positive surprise. Since I grew up in Russia, I still speak the language fluently, which is proving to be a big advantage in the case of Lost Ark.
I want to try the Russian version of Lost Ark and I already know which class I will play.
How do classes work in Lost Ark? Currently, there are four main classes in Lost Ark:
Fighter
Warrior
Mage
Hunter
These split into three different specializations each at level 10, from which one must be chosen to progress in the game.
And while many of these specializations look really cool and are certainly fun to play, I am most taken with the Arcana.
What is the Arcana? At its core, the Arcana is a mid-range damage dealer class. As one of the Mage’s specializations, it would normally not be on my top list, as I prefer physical DD classes.
However, the Arcana is anything but a classic Mage. Its weapon is a Tarot card deck and its abilities are considered spells, but have no preparation time.
This results in a very high attack speed and, on top of that, looks really stylish thanks to the cards.

This is how the Arcana works: The Arcana’s abilities are divided into three groups:
Blue: When the blue skills hit a monster, they leave one or more cards on it as “stacks.” A foe can have a maximum of four stacks on it.
Red: These card stacks can be triggered by using the red abilities and can deal high damage, for example. The more stacks a foe has, the higher the bonus damage.
Yellow: The yellow abilities form the “Crowd Control” category and are independent of the other two groups.
The distribution of the Arcana’s status points: It is a fast DD class
Similar to the other classes in Lost Ark, the Arcana also has a main resource for its identity skill. The resource is filled when different abilities are used.
Once the resource bar is full, the Arcana draws two random cards from its deck that can grant various status effects and buffs. This can be anything from a 100% critical hit for X seconds to “Draw two more cards.”
Why is the Arcana interesting?
I find the Arcana very exciting for several reasons.
The entry is not hard, but the skill ceiling is high: The basic gameplay of the Arcana is very simple. Distribute your card stacks, trigger them with red skills, stay alive -> profit.
However, its abilities offer much room for min-maxing and its skill ceiling is high, meaning it is hard to master.
The randomness of its identity skill requires strategic action in combat. Depending on the cards drawn, one must consider when the best time would be to use them.
Should one wait until enough stacks are built to make a 100% crit card worth it, or should one wait for a stronger cooldown? One must always adapt to the situation.
It is a “High risk, high reward” class: It can deal good damage, but it is very vulnerable due to the low range of its abilities and its Mage equipment.
If one rushes to the raid boss with their movement skills to place their card stacks on it, they must also dodge many AOEs. This requires “Field Awareness,” which means one must always know what is happening around them in the battle and react quickly.
The style factor is high: The eye indeed eats with it, and I find a card deck as a weapon really cool. The animations of the Arcana abilities are stylish and creatively implement the card concept.
In Final Fantasy XI, I fell in love with the class Swashbuckler because it also dealt with cards and dice and was versatile. The Arcana gives me a similar vibe as the Swashbuckler.
Swashbuckler in FFXI using the ability “Phantom Roll” and randomly drawing a buff card.
Even though the gameplay elements are ultimately more important, the animations and look of a class must convey a strong “badass” feeling for me.
What do you say? Have you already eyed a class in Lost Ark or haven’t you considered it at all? Here you can watch gameplay videos:
The new trailer for The Division 2 gives you a brief overview of the content. The scenes reveal aspects of the story, setting, and features.
On March 15, the official release of The Division 2 took place. In the trailer “What is The Division 2?” the online game is introduced.
The trailer showcases scenes from Washington D.C., briefly explains the plot, and what players can expect in The Division 2.
This is what the new trailer shows:
Washington D.C.:The new setting offers dynamic weather, a day/night cycle, and a diverse wildlife.
The settlements: In the game world, civilians live organized in their own settlements. They fight against hostile factions to survive. Throughout the game, you must ally with them and conquer D.C. together.
The White House: The former seat of government is now your operations base. Recruit specialists and continually expand your base. You can unlock skills and perks there and craft equipment.
Story missions: You can expect extensive missions that lead you to various points in the game world and advance the story.
Equipment: You can look forward to an extensive loot system with weapons and gear, where build creators can unleash their creativity.
Tactical combat: The Division 2 is a cover shooter with tactical elements. Use the terrain wisely, use your skills at the right moment, and pay attention to which enemy types should be eliminated first.
Control points: These locations in the game world are initially controlled by hostile factions. Conquer them together with the civilians and hold them against your enemies.
Strongholds: These are the home bases of the factions. They become accessible later in the game and can be conquered by you.
This faction waits for you after the story.
Dark Zones: These 3 PvEvP areas offer particularly good loot. But beware: Not only are NPCs hostile here, but other players can also take your equipment.
Endgame: In the endgame of The Division 2, the new faction Black Tusk shakes up the game world significantly. Other factions will also become more dangerous. You can expect new, more dangerous activities in the game world such as the invaded missions.
Free content after release: All expansions of the first year will be free. In the near future, a new stronghold of the Black Tusk called Tidal Basin will come, and the 1st 8-player raid will also start.
Thus, the entire player base spreads across only two playlists instead of six game modes. It is much easier to absorb player departures this way. Matchmaking runs relatively quickly, and connections are more stable.
In addition to the normal playlists, there are also regular events in Fortnite
What is the downside of consolidated playlists? Players can no longer choose which game mode they want to play, so unpopular game variants will inevitably be played.
A problem that Epic (at least for now) doesn’t have to deal with.
Fewer platform pools, consistent number of modes
Could Fortnite meet the same “fate” as Destiny? Theoretically yes, however, Fortnite is far from this point in my opinion. The game has always thrived on its vast diversity of various game modes. Also, the speed of matchmaking and finding new lobbies have set Fortnite: Battle Royale apart since its launch.
Gone in Season 8 – Airplanes
The partial consolidation of platforms is a smart move. The future and the further roadmap for Fortnite will show whether this measure was the only necessary one or if more will follow.
What do you think? Did Epic consolidate the platforms to combat player decline? Or is there something else behind it?
With the announcement,
PS4 and Xbox players in Fortnite: Battle Royale now being forced to compete against each other, Epic has taken a strange step. Even though the official reason seems logical, this approach could also signal a decline in the general player base, at least according to our author Robert.
What has Epic changed about matchmaking? With the latest patch to game version 8.10, the composition of lobbies has changed:
Where cross-platform matchmaking was optional before the update, it is now mandatory. This means that PS4 players and gamers on Xbox One will now face each other.
The same applies to the Nintendo Switch and smartphones, which now always play against each other.
Only players on PC remain amongst themselves, except for console players who play with mouse and keyboard.
Now chasing each other into the air: PS4 and Xbox One players
What reason does Epic give for this step? The official explanation from Fortnite developer Epic sounds cryptic:
We were driven by the intent to free up more optimization potential so that we can run more standard modes for more hours in the day while also supporting more locations with data centers. Please provide us with your feedback about your experiences!
Developer Epic on the changes in the Patch_Modes
In short: Epic needs to consolidate platforms to maximize the range of available playlists:
But why is this step coming exactly now?
And why was the number of available playlists not a problem before, but now it is?
The real reason is, in my view, as mundane as it is obvious. Fortnite is losing players.
This is why Fortnite needs so many players:
The player base of Fortnite is tremendously fragmented, and Epic relies on many players playing Fortnite.
Fortnite offers many different game modes, alongside solo, duo, squad, and team rumbles, also regularly limited-time modes.
Then they have various data centers in all corners of the world.
And each platform has its own player pool.
If each platform needs its own playlists at every data center in the world, longer wait times could occur, especially if someone wants to play an unusual mode at night. Apparently, Epic wants to avoid that at all costs.
Could Fortnite actually have a problem with its player base? There are good reasons for this thesis:
Even the hamster ball cannot overly excite the players
After Fortnite has rushed from one record in player numbers to the next, the player numbers could now indeed be decreasing. This is not surprising, after all, it is a significant challenge to keep a game fresh over time and thus keep the players entertained.
However, there are different ways to react to a declining player number. Epic is still in a very comfortable position with Fortnite here, as the example of Destiny ironically shows.
Destiny forwent game modes
This is how Destiny dealt with declining player numbers: In Destiny, players were able to select the exact game mode like Control or Conflict in competitive multiplayer.
This fragmentation of game modes led to matchmaking taking a very long time, especially during quieter times. Additionally, the algorithm even threw players from different continents into a game, which further degraded the player experience due to lag.
Thus, the entire player base spreads across only two playlists instead of six game modes. It is much easier to absorb player departures this way. Matchmaking runs relatively quickly, and connections are more stable.
In addition to the normal playlists, there are also regular events in Fortnite
