The tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege is a huge success for Ubisoft. The game is so successful that the studio isn’t even thinking about a sequel – not even on PlayStation 5 and the next Xbox.
In an interview, the Rainbow Six Brand Director, Alexandre Remy, stated that Ubisoft has no plans for a sequel to the shooter, not even for the upcoming consoles – so no Rainbow Seven Siege or Rainbow Six Seven or anything like that.
Even though he couldn’t reveal any details about the next generation of consoles, Remy mentioned that the studio would love for players on all platforms to play together. Ubisoft is approaching the next generation of consoles with the same thought.
Community must stay together
Why no successor? The Brand Manager said in the interview that they do not want to split the Siege community between different platforms.
The strength of a multiplayer game is the size of its community, Alexandre Remy continued. So they want to try to allow players on all platforms to play together.
Ubisoft will make every effort to ensure that the next generation of consoles is treated like a high-end PC against another PC. Ubisoft is currently discussing this with Sony and Microsoft.
With this, Remy implies that players who have upgraded to the next generation and thus possess the more powerful hardware should not have an advantage over PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Infinite Warfare did not look like a game from 2016 with the old engine.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is meant to be a reboot and not a sequel. That’s why it’s not called Modern Warfare 4. They want to reimagine the first Modern Warfare and go for a realistic setting. The campaign is supposed to take place in October 2019, which is also the release date.
A new engine makes Modern Warfare shine in a new light.
This is the outlook: Infinity Ward announced that with Modern Warfare they want to shock the world and polarize with the game. The campaign is supposed to resemble the “No Russian” mission from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Here, you had to participate in a massacre at an airport to gain the trust of Russian terrorists. You could even shoot civilians, but you didn’t have to.
It apparently goes away from colorful Michael-Bay action and science fiction. And it comes with impressive graphics. This direction seems to be well received right now. It’s a strong contrast to the last title from Infinity Ward.
The colleagues at Battlefield suddenly show respect
What was going on at DICE back then? When Infinite Warfare released its reveal trailer in 2016, Infinity Ward received more than just mockery and ridicule from fans. PlayStationLifestyle collected tweets from developers at DICE (Battlefield) who laughed heartily at the trailer.

DICE noted that players will have earned almost 2 million Company Coins when they reach rank 500. With that, some cosmetics from the arsenal will be doable. Even after reaching the level cap, this currency can still be earned through assignments as well as daily and “Tides of War” missions.

A player compared how the Shaper Storms were announced at E3 2017 and how the Cataclysms are now supposed to look in the game.
Especially, the fact that the events do not occur in actual freeplay, as seen in the E3 video, is disappointing to the players. Instead of a sudden phenomenon in the game, Freelancers seem to be confronting these world events only on their own map.
Also, the weather effects, which are still not fully finished as mentioned in the livestream, only elicit a tired smile from the players. The storm in Anthem has been compared to an ordinary tropical storm rather than a deadly world event.

In Dead by Daylight, players will soon have story and new quests. Additionally, the game will feature cutscenes with even more lore.
One of the biggest wishes of the Dead by Daylight community over the years has been the introduction of more story content. Currently, the stories of the characters are told only in small summaries or notes on addons, offerings, and other items. But that will change soon.
This year, the developers want to bring story content into the game that will be expanded roughly every 3 months. This was announced in the roadmap for Year 4 of Dead by Daylight. We will reveal what this means.
The Archives are set to become a larger feature by the end of the year.
Here are the “Archives” of Dead by Daylight: Dead by Daylight is set to receive a new submenu called the Archives. Here, players take on the role of a new character who explores the fog of the game world. After all, the entire game takes place only in the created world of the Entity.
This new character, however, is capable of venturing into the fog and uncovering individual memories from specific characters. These can be both killers and survivors.
In the “Archives,” players can then refer back to these memories.

When will the Archives be available? Starting with the next “Mid Chapter Patch.” This is expected to be the case at the beginning of November. However, the developers have said that the feature could be delayed if they are not satisfied with it yet.

In Asian MMORPGs like Black Desert Online, a gender lock is completely normal. In the West, this gender lock is often criticized. Why is that?
What does gender lock mean? In games that have a gender lock, we have no free choice between genders. Male and female characters are assigned to specific roles. This limitation between genders is typical for MMOs that come from Asia. For instance, the Valkyrie in Black Desert Online is always female, or the Hrothgar in Final Fantasy XIV are always male.
What is the problem with gender lock? In the West, this strict division of genders is not well received. In Western MMOs like World of Warcraft, it would be unthinkable that we are restricted in whether we want to play our class as male or female. The gender lock from Asia has already caused significant frustration among us:
Wes has deeply engaged with this phenomenon and the differences between the West and East. When we asked him why there is a gender lock at all in Asia, we received the following statement from Wes Connor:
“Gender lock has been a hot topic in the gaming industry for years. Some don’t care about gender lock, while for others it is a dealbreaker. What does this statement mean? Wes essentially attributes the gender lock to two things:
the history of video games, where we always played a predefined character in earlier RPGs. We had no choice about who we were, and there was nothing else at that time.
the Asian culture, where the individual perspective is not as prominent as it is in the West. For a player in the East, it is normal and acceptable to play as “any character.” He/she does not wish to fulfill themselves through the character.
The gender lock is primarily attributed to the history of games and the culture in Asia. However, there may also be more advantages for the developers.
Another factor: In an interview with MMORPG.com, the developers of the Asia MMORPG TERA once revealed that it is a significant effort to create female and male for a class. Every movement and every skill would require its own elaborate animation.
In Asia, different genders receive completely different animations, and these are generally produced in a more elaborate manner than in the West. Therefore, developers also weigh whether to create a male or a female class next.
So yes, financial considerations certainly play a role in the decision on the gender lock. It is just not the only reason and not always the decisive one.

Unusual, but explosive damage
This is what makes Gnadenlos so effective against tanks: The weapon’s talents are quite specific, but they make the Exotic very effective.
It particularly shines in action against heavily armored tanks, which are notably tough in the raid “Operation: Dark Hours” and heroic missions.
These are the talents of the Merciless:
Binary Trigger: The weapon fires a bullet each time you press the trigger and when you release it. The Merciless has a unique firing mechanic that allows you to fire bullets quite quickly.
Guerilla Warfare: When you press the trigger, a “primer bullet” is fired that sticks in the target. When you release the trigger, the second bullet is a “detonator bullet” that causes all primer bullets in the target to explode.
Brutality: Every shot has a 5% chance to deal +20% damage as explosive damage – but only when Merciless is holstered.
Why is the weapon so powerful? Every primer bullet in the target increases the damage per primer bullet by +75% when the primers explode. The more primers are in the target, the higher the damage upon detonation.
In total, up to five primer bullets can be sunk into the target. Thus, with the right gameplay, massive damage can be dealt.
How do you play the weapon best? Playing the Gnadenlos correctly means a change for you. Because where you would normally only fire one shot by pressing and releasing the trigger, you now have to account for two shots (primer and detonator).
The massive damage then results from the fact that you accumulate the primers to the maximum number of 5 and thus maximize the damage from a detonation.
Here’s how to effectively stack primers:
To avoid triggering a detonation immediately after the first primer, you need to press the trigger but must not release it immediately.
If you have a target with one primer, aim slightly off to the side and release the trigger.
Now you can fire another primer bullet at the target with the next shot. You do this until you’ve stacked all five primers.
Now you just need to hit the target with a detonator shot, and you will get the maximum damage out of it.
