Where do the numbers come from? They come from the analysts at SensorTower. They looked at revenues in the app stores and compared them with the revenues of other players in the first 3 years.
After all, Pokémon GO has been on the market for 3 years since early July and has generated over 2 billion dollars in revenue since then. In 2019, they might even exceed the 3 billion dollar mark.
How successful Pokémon GO is in the mobile market
What do the numbers say? Pokémon GO has already earned 2.65 billion dollars since its release in the summer of 2016. This only comes from sales through the app stores.
In this context, there is a comparison with other popular mobile games. Only Clash of Clans has made more money in the first 3 years. Games like Candy Crush Saga or Clash Royale fall behind Pokémon GO.

The Chinese market was not considered here, as Pokémon GO is not available there yet. The other games in comparison can be played there. Additionally, the Japanese games Monster Strike and Puzzle & Dragons are not listed, as they are significantly more successful, but mainly in the Asian region.
How did it look in 2018? Already at the turn of the year, numbers regarding Pokémon GO were announced. In 2018, Pokémon GO alone generated 800 million dollars, which is 35% more than in 2017. The game is still growing.
Where does the revenue come from? Android users have contributed slightly more money to Pokémon GO. 54% of the revenue comes from these devices. The rest comes from iOS users, where only 1.6% comes from iPad users.
What’s next for Pokémon GO? Experts from SensorTower suspect that Pokémon GO will exceed the revenue of 3 billion dollars in 2019. This seems plausible, as much is still planned for the game in 2019 and the player base is still large.

A very rare Pokémon card was supposed to be sold for $60,000. But something went wrong during shipping, and the card never arrived at the buyer. An expert suspects that someone noticed how much the card was insured for and intercepted it on the way.
Which card is it? The card is called “Trainer No.3” – it was awarded in 1999 to the third place holder at the “Super Secret Battle” competition in Japan.
This makes it one of the rarest cards in the world.

The card never arrived
How did the shipping go? The shipping was done through USPS, the United States Postal Service, with insurance of $50,000. That’s the highest amount you can insure something by mail.
Other items were also shipped – we’re talking about “hundreds of other items” in the shipment.
In August 2018, the card was sold for $60,000 on eBay.
However, the card somehow went missing on its way to the intermediary Aramex in New York.
The eBay shop PokémonPlace claims they shipped the card to Aramex, who were to send it overseas to the buyer. The tracking also indicated that the card arrived at Aramex, and they signed for it.
But Aramex says: they signed for a shipment of items, but the card was not included.

Hearthstone is hosting the Summer Festival, and it is really awesome in 2019. Players can look forward to many packs and gold.
Although the next expansion “Saviors of Uldum” was recently announced for Hearthstone, a few weeks must pass before the expansion is released. To keep players from getting too bored during the wait, Hearthstone is hosting a three-week event, the Summer Festival. This time, there are plenty of packs and gold for players.

Additionally, there are regular creatures here that are not Behemoths . The first of these is a small snail that you should squash immediately, or it will slime everything and ruin your hunt.

Here’s how to get the quest: First, you need to obtain the quest for the new weapon exotic. Fly to the Guardian’s Grave area on Nessus and go to the Calus Barge – a transport ship from Emperor Calus that landed there at the start of Season 7.
On the barge, search for the NPC robot Werner 99-40. Right next to him is a chest that you can open for 5,000 Glimmer. You will then receive the exotic quest for Bad Juju.
Here’s how to unlock the Tribute Hall: Upon receiving the quest, access to the Tribute Hall will also be unlocked. You can find it on the planet map of Nessus below next to the Leviathan – right by the raids and the Menagerie.

How the Countenance of Calus and the Tribute Hall work
What is the Tribute Hall all about? Now head into the Tribute Hall and speak with the Countenance of Calus, the golden statue of the Cabal Emperor in the middle of the foyer.
The Tribute Hall itself is your own area aboard the Leviathan, built in honor of you by Emperor Calus. There you can showcase certain trophies and obtain Bad Juju.
How the Tribute Hall works: After speaking with the Countenance of Calus, the quest will continue for you, and the trading functions of the statue will be unlocked.

You can now collect four bounties daily with each character and exchange them for currency and materials to purchase tributes.
For each completed bounty, you will receive, among other items, the Blessing of Opulence. If you turn in this item at the statue, you will receive a 1% discount on the tributes offered there. Up to 80% discount is possible in total. If the prices for the tributes seem too high at first, you can complete bounties diligently to significantly lower the costs.
You can also obtain tributes not only by purchasing but also by unlocking specific Tribute Hall triumphs. You can find these in the menu under Triumphs/Locations/Sub-locations/The Tribute Hall.
These tributes can then be offered in the actual Tribute Hall, which only unfolds in all its glory after the foyer – meaning you place them in the designated spot. If you can submit one or more tributes in the hall, the corresponding spots will be indicated by a small light pillar.

With the increasing number of tributes you offer, there are various rewards. For example, you need 18 tributes for Bad Juju and a total of 45 for the corresponding Masterwork Catalyst. In total, you can submit 50 tributes. Whether there is more than just the exotic gesture “There, where the X is” for that in the end is currently unknown.
By the way: Which tributes you submit specifically for Bad Juju does not matter. Just turn in everything you have available to quickly complete the 18 tributes.
Here’s how the quest continues: From now on, it’s basically all about collecting and offering tributes. 18 are needed for Bad Juju. In several quest steps, you will unlock more of these tributes, use them, and earn so-called memories.

Here’s how to obtain tributes: More than 20 tributes can be bought from the statue. Those who have laid up proper reserves of materials can benefit immensely and greatly shorten the quest duration.
More tributes can be obtained through the triumphs of the Tribute Hall. If you have already earned some, that can save a lot of time as well.
To earn these triumphs, you need to complete specific tasks while using armor and weapons in Calus style – for example, from the Menagerie, the Leviathan raid, from one of its raid wings, or from the new raid Crown of Sorrows. The more matching gear pieces you wear, the faster you will make progress.

The Steam Summer Sale 2019 is likely to go down in history as one of the most chaotic in Valve’s history. However, indie developers suffered greatly as a result.
The Steam Summer Sale 2019 is over. Not only do users and their wallets have to recover from it, but also another group: indie developers. For them, the Summer Sale was a catastrophe like no other.
Instead of additional revenue, many fell short of expectations and now have a smaller potential customer base. The blame lies with the “Grand Prix,” which few have truly understood to this day.
What was the problem? In the “Grand Prix” meta-game, in which all users on Steam could participate, there was the chance to win a game from their wishlist. Since the rules were not clear, and Valve explained them far too late, it had dramatic consequences.
Users edited their wishlists and removed all games that were not full-price titles. They thought that in the event of a win, they could derive the greatest value from the action.
These were the effects for indie developers: Indie developers often produce games that are developed by smaller teams or are particularly niche. This often results in a reduced price. Instead of 60€, indie games often cost between 5€ and 30€. Exactly these games were the first to be removed from the wishlists of many players.
A large customer base was lost: The wishlist on Steam is an important marketing tool. It shows developers how many players potentially have an interest in their title and might be more inclined to buy it when the price is reduced. Developers who have only announced a game can also roughly estimate how many buyers there will be later.
Big games had no problem attracting attention – indie games had a harder time.
But even more: Friends can view each other’s wishlists. When browsing the store, if you come across a game that says “Friend A wants this game,” you might take a closer look. After all, it’s practically a recommendation from a friend and better than any other form of advertising.
What the developers say: In a conversation with Kotaku, many indie developers speak up and explain this very situation. They call it a catastrophe and say it led to significantly fewer sales than expected. The developer of Vulpine (Clockwork Giant Games), for instance, said in an email:
The message from Steam to its users not to delete their wishlists had no significant impact on how much we were [deleted from these lists].
In the past, the developer received about 180 new wishlist entries per day. This time, it was different:
This sale resulted in us getting between 40 and 60 new wishlist entries per day, while 30-50 were deleted each day. We are just barely in the positive range, and from what I can say, we are still among the developers who were lucky. For an unreleased indie title, wishlists are the lifeblood; that’s how we are perceived on the platform. It’s sad to see how many of our colleagues among the developers were hit hard by this sale.
The Steam Summer Sale 2019 has not only excited players; the developers are visibly disappointed as well. Let’s hope Valve learns from the mistakes of this year.
There is a multiplayer beta coming for Gears 5, and the developers at The Coalition have released a video of the Escalation mode. This is one of the three modes that can be tried out in the Versus beta. Escalation is already known from Gears of War 4 but has received a new look for the upcoming installment.
What mode is it? The developers at The Coalition have now shown real gameplay for the upcoming shooter Gears 5 for the first time. What was demonstrated is the Escalation mode, which fans of the series may already know from Gears of War 4.
In Escalation, two teams of five players each face off and must capture three rings located around the map. You can think of it similarly to the Control mode in Destiny 2. Each ring that is captured generates one point per second. The team that reaches 250 points first wins a round.
If a team captures all three rings or eliminates the entire opposing team, this counts as a Domination Victory and an immediate win of the round. The team that wins seven rounds first wins the match.
After each round, new weapons are placed on the map, and the respawn time for players decreases.
What is new about Escalation? In Gears 5, there is a limited number of lives. Each player starts the match with five lives. After each round, players receive one life back, as well as five lives at halftime.
This new system is designed to make the game more tactical and exciting. Players need to weigh whether it’s worth rushing in aggressively or playing defensively and cautiously. After dying, they can decide whether to jump back into the game immediately or save their lives for another round.
When does the beta take place? Before the release of Gears 5 on September 10, 2019, a multiplayer beta will take place shortly, during which three Versus modes can be tested.

The MMORPG Kingdom Under Fire 2 has a truly insane development history filled with crises. Now, the MMORPG is set to release in Germany in 2019. That is 10 years after the originally planned release, which was intended for the Xbox 360.
What kind of franchise is this? In itself, “Kingdom under Fire” was a franchise for PC, which only gained success on the original Xbox and Xbox 360 when more action was introduced into the strategy game:
The 1st game “Kingdom Under Fire” was released in 2001 for PC – it was a real-time strategy game.
Then came “The Crusaders” for Xbox – here the developers added gameplay elements from Dynasty Warriors, bringing more action into the mix.
Kingdom under Fire “Heroes” was also released for Xbox – this was then an action-strategy game.
In 2008, finally, “Circle of Doom” was released for Xbox 360 – this was classified as an action RPG.
The franchise “Kingdom under Fire” had a good reputation and some fans in Europe. Especially “Heroes” from 2005 received strong ratings – but “Circle of Doom” fell off.
From 2009 to 2014 in “Developer Hell”
What about part 2? The development history of Kingdom under Fire 2 is confusing, full of stumbling blocks, announcements that never came true, and problems.
But from the beginning, there were big problems. The game was originally supposed to release in 2009 for PC and Xbox 360.
But media reported back in 2010 that Kingdom under Fire 2 was stuck in “developer hell”:
